Ngl, I love this theory. Not only would it be an awesome way to connect the "What if..." to the canon timeline, but MY BABY EVIL!LUNAR WOULD RETURN! And just thinking about that makes me extremely happy 💖💖💖

Sometimes I listen to canon Gabriel quotes to imagine it as Centiclipse and this one reminded me of a silly dynamic between him and Lunara I've rotated for a while but never rlly posted about. so here's a silly video abt it LMAO

ok, first of all this AU is a variation/headcanon of the one shown at the show

this variation is based on the idea that Lunara kept Eclipse with him instead of killing him like in the original, keeping him as a toy or pet.

making Eclipse immortal to be able to do whatever he wants with him without fear of him disappearing or dying, also breaking him in every possible way.

Eclipse ended up forgetting his own name and part of the past, so he ends up thinking his name is Helios and thinks that everything has always been like this.

That there was never a time before the Lunar caught the star.

AU summary: I wanted Eclipse to suffer so I did that. (detail: the bracelets he wears serve as trackers, they also prevent Eclipse from leaving his AU)

Listen. Listen. Earth lying to Lunara and saying her Eclipse was dead was genuinely the smartest move possible, but also I'm hyperaware of how that absolutely fueled their bias. Do you hear me.

Like I don't blame Earth for not risking it!!! It coulda ended really bad otherwise!!! But Lunara absolutely has the idea that a Lunar can't be happy if their Eclipse is still alive because that's how they'd feel. Their Eclipse brought them to this tipping point, they killed their Eclipse with their own two hands, and—even though they admit it wasn't enough—they still said a dead Eclipse is "always better."

And they asked how our Lunar was doing, too, and of course Earth said they're as happy as can be! Again, reasonable, don't take chances here, but I can't help but think that just affirmed Lunara's own actions to themselves. Like, "of course the other Lunar is happy, how can you not be happy when your Eclipse is dead?" sort of deal.

And it makes me wonder how badly it would have messed them up to know a Lunar can still find happiness with their Eclipse alive, yk?! To know that a Lunar can still be bitter, but accept that he's still walking around. To know that the first thing they did upon getting the star wasn't something they needed to do to acquire comfort. But it doesn't really matter now, because even though it was just 1 universe (and a lie, but they don't know that), they heard all they wanted to hear, and that's all they need to think that they're in the right. you get me?!?!!!

The more I think about it after looking at that TSAMS confession about Lunar still basically being an Eclipse but acting differently because he himself doesn’t really want to accept (hence why he’s childish and also repressing memories or emotions could be contributing to his forgetfulness) isn’t Evil Lunar basically Lunar accepting the darker parts of himself: Bitter, Cold, Clever, Calculating, monotone in voice, turned Evil and got revenge because the choices of another.

I’m probably reading too deep but that’s just how my works after a thought such as that is put into my head…
