Dumb Angel - Like a Wave, Like the Tide
Dumb Angel are a collection of like-minded artists from Saskatoon, Canada, fronted by singer-songwriter Shaun Mason. Mason’s luminous, meditative songs are elevated to kaleidoscopic heights by widescreen production, taking as much influence from Nick Drake and Bert Jansch as Spiritualized and Slowdive. These shoegaze elements are juxtaposed with quicksilver pedal steel guitar, lush vocal harmonies, and hypnotically layered acoustic and electric guitars to draw you into Dumb Angel’s singular, sprawling world. This world will now be brought to life on a limited edition 45rpm double vinyl pressing of their album Broken Glass, recorded and produced by S.J. Kardash (Shooting Guns, Sheepdogs, The Deep Dark Woods).

Just in Time for Halloween: AUTOPILOT Releases Zombie Filled Music Video for "Living Dead (Night of the Living Dead)"
Canadian Alternative Rock Band AUTOPILOT has released a zombie dominated music video for their single, "Living Dead (Night of the Living Dead". Featuring footage from the classic horror film, Night of the Living Dead, "Living Dead" is off of their 2018 released Afterglow. "Love can be terrifying. In the spirit of Halloween, director Kevin Van Witt put together his take on our track Living Dead edited to the classic movie The Night of the Living Dead." Marlon Harder Over the last few years, Canadian alternative rock band Autopilot has become a staple in the Saskatoon indie music scene. Known for their thoughtful lyrics, powerful hooks, dynamic stage show, and obsessive hard work, they somehow seem to effortlessly walk the line between passionate art and massive appeal. Over the course of 3 full-length records, and one EP, they’ve become road warriors, touring relentlessly across Canada and the US. They’ve been praised for their tireless work ethic by publications like Canadian Musician Magazine, who called them “quite possibly one of the hardest working bands in the country.” https://youtu.be/c9Z4W1wnxpM Autopilot's highly anticipated new record Afterglow, their most impressive and accessible record to date, produced by legendary Saskatchewan producer, S.J. Kardash, and backed by their most ambitious marketing campaign yet, finds the band reaching for bigger sounds, bigger ideas, and much bigger audiences. The release of their new single “Undisguised” following the success of preceding singles “Living Dead” and “Weightless”, is proof positive of this growing momentum. Marlon Harder, the driving creative force behind Autopilot, has a knack for finding beauty in simple moments, and hope in the challenges life tends to bring. Inspired by the early writing of Modest Mouse, he seemed to know very quickly what he wanted to do in life. After the release and College radio buzz of their first record Now It’s Time You Know What We’re Losing For, unexpected illness struck, effectively putting the band on the back burner for the foreseeable future. But he never quit writing. Health improved, lineups changed, and in 2013 they teamed up with S.J. Kardash for the release of Diamond Rough, a sophomore full-length forged in the fires of struggle, faith, and growing maturity. The record widely expanded their media exposure across North America; in print, online, commercial rock radio, CBC, podcasts, and through licensing placement on major US television networks. Their 2015 release, Desert Dreams, reunited the band with Kardash, and represented a significant leap forward in both the ever expanding sound, and rapidly growing fan base the band had built strongly upon with 2013’s Diamond Rough. Along with debuting on Earshot’s Top 50 chart, Desert Dreams received heavy rotation on The Verge, Sirius XM’s Iceberg Radio, and garnered the attention of New York’s prestigious CMJ; while securing the band showcases at Toronto’s CMW and Indie Week festivals, AYE Fest in Cincinnati, Fairfield Revival Festival in Minnesota, and opening doors to tour extensively in the United States. Autopilot has always been a dedicated touring band. In support of Diamond Rough, Desert Dreams, and the 2017 release of the single "Hurricane" / "Crooked Lines", the band spent countless months on the road touring across Canada and the United States. These tours have included stops at Jersey Shore Festival, Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and a mainstage performance at Mesa Music Festival in Arizona supporting hard rock legends P.O.D. October 2018 marked the release of Afterglow, which chartered in the top 200 on the NACC North American College Charts as well as specialty radio in the US. The future is truly wide open for Autopilot. Everything they’ve learned is on the table for 2019 while they continue to promote the release of Afterglow. They are casting their net wider, and going all in. Never content to sit still or play it safe, they’ve crafted a remarkable live show, and plan on spending as much time over the next year as possible, getting the new songs in front of as many new fans as they possibly can.

AUTOPILOT Releases Official Music Video for "Undisguised," 'Afterglow' LP Out NOW!
Canadian Alternative Rock Band AUTOPILOT has released the official music video for their single, “Undisguised.” Directed by Kevin Van Witt, “Undisguised” is off of the band’s latest album, Afterglow.
“We don’t need these walls between us!” lyrics in “Undisguised” from Autopilot, a song that bridges the feelings of the times with modern rock vibes. It’s a song that questions why do we put up walls when love is what we really want.

“After 20 consecutive shows on tour we had a few days off in NYC to shoot the video for Undisguised. Director Kevin Van Witt captured the contrast of the lyrics with empty streets in a condensed and often chaotic city.” – Autopilot

Canadian Indie/Alt-Rockers Autopilot Destroy a Perfectly Lovely Home in New Music Video
Ahead of their US tour, Canadian indie/alternative rock trio Autopilot have shared a new music video for the title track of their latest album Afterglow. The video for the shimmering rock song shows a riotous house party in reverse with the band supplying the live sound in a cramped basement. The low ceiling is enough to make anyone with the slightest bit of claustrophobia feel uneasy, but the killer blend of airy guitars, punchy beats and warm melodies will make you stick around. So who was the owner that let their house be ravaged for the sake of Rock n' Roll? "We got home from a recent tour to find our neighbor had sold his house and it was set to be demolished," explains frontman Marlon Harder. "We convinced the new owners to let us throw one final house party, and surprisingly they agreed - on the conditions that we didn’t have the cops show up and didn’t burn the place down. We called up our friends at the local breweries, got some kegs, and ended up with an insane crowd and had a classic house party (with a little extra destruction). While most of the gear didn’t survive the night, my favorite guitar did make it through the crowd surfing. It’s definitely the most fun we’ve had shooting a video, and the only party we never had to clean up after." https://youtu.be/Yr6np5hzb1k With Harder on vocals and guitar — alongside Jose Antonio on drums and Jordan Kurtz on bass — the Saskatoon-based trifecta of sound-best-heard-loud have become increasingly known for their thoughtful lyrics, powerful hooks, dynamic stage presence, and obsessive hard work. Such is deftly demonstrated between their roster of full-length albums, additional EP, singles, and road warrior status touring across Canada and the US. Canadian Musician Magazine calls them “quite possibly one for the hardest working bands in the country” and it’s not difficult to see why: between albums Diamond Rough (2013), Desert Dreams (2015), and Afterglow (2018) alone, Autopilot have charted with Earshot’s Top 50, the Top 200 for NACC North American College Charts, and specialty radio throughout North America, as well as receiving heavy rotation, reception and placement on The Verge, Sirius XM’s Iceberg Radio, NY’s CMJ, CBC, podcasts, and licensing placements throughout the US. Having taken the stage at Toronto’s CMW, Indie Week, AYE Fest, Fairfield Revival, Jersey Shore Festival, Millennium Music Conference, and Mesa Music Festival, among many more, Autopilot were also nominated for Best Rock / Pop Artist at the 2019 Saskatchewan Music Awards. Afterglow has been touted as the band’s most impressive and accessible recording to date. Between Harder’s knack for finding ‘beauty in the simple moments, and hope in the challenges life tends to bring,’ and its production by legendary Saskatchewan producer S.J. Kardash, the album finds the band reaching and rising to their highest heights yet. Listen to the single "Afterglow" now on Spotify. Read the full article
