omgomg thank you so much for asking! i would love to tell more about it! :DD it's been consuming my brain so i'm so glad i can infodump about it rn ^_^

so in my mind, bloberta and clay both meet each other before they both transition, and somehow find out that they both aren't cis, and they connect through the struggles that they've both had to endure growing up in the christian community. i haven't fully figured out how i want them to get to this point, but they somehow get the resources to medically transition and then they get married, mostly because they feel like they only have each other (at this point both of their families have disowned them). they manage to pass as a good cis christian couple, and clay even agrees to having a child together in order to keep up appearances, and thus orel is born.

bloberta and clay begin to resent each other over the years, but not as much as in canon due to their unusual circumstances and the fact that they can both actually directly relate to each other on a very concrete part of their identities. orel is of course raised to be none the wiser about his parents being t4t, and in this au he'd probably have at least a slightly better home life than in canon.

now with shapey....well, he's the result of clay and danielle instead of clay and bloberta. danielle is accepting of clay, and doesn't think of him as any less of a man, which is part of the reason clay falls so hard for him. this causes immense strain on clay and bloberta though, even if they were both starting to accept that they don't love each other, at least not anymore. bloberta rightfully feels betrayed, and on top of that, she'll be the one to have to deal with any cheating rumors that get spread around. meanwhile clay is dealing with the guilt of being both trans and homosexual, and--although it's to a much lesser extent--the fact that he cheated on his wife.

tbh aside from these big changes, most main plot points stay the same, at least stuff that happens before nature. i really need to compile all of my ideas somewhere, but i've been too busy (and lazy) to write them down anywhere yet. this is the first time i've actually written anything pertaining to this au lol.

Why are modern farming games getting rid of festivals?

The latest story of seasons, Pioneers of Olive Town (I'm not including the remakes cause they're remakes. Also Friends of Mineral Town actually has festivals), Stardew Valley and Coral Island have two festivals per season. It's ridiculous. I don't have Winds of Anthos but I hear it only has four total

I liked the festivals. I wanna see more festivals.

I'm using Back to Nature as my baseline cause it was my first. But they fit in about 18 festivals. And about 8 of them were romantic in nature or at least involved some kind of couple activity

Which brings me to my next point. Where are the romantic festivals? Half of the Olive Town festivals have you doing something with your partner so fine but last I checked Stardew Valley just has the dance. And I haven't seen the last festival in Coral Island yet but so far none of them have involved dates.

I'm referring to BtN again but give us the Spring Harmony Festival! I don't care if you call it Valentine's Day I want a day to give out chocolate. The Starry Night festival. Moon viewing.

Is it because festivals that just involve dialouge are considered boring now? There has to be some kind of mini game attached? I don't know I'm just spitballing. I'm loving Coral Island but the festivals don't all need minigames

I loved the goddess festival in BtN. I loved seeing them in their pretty dresses and then going out on a date afterwards. I loved it in the girl version where I actually got to dance with them (also off topic but Gotz giving you his wife's dress was the sweetest scene and I really wish I still had my psp so I could see it again).

Rune Factory 5 has it's problems but it still manages to have a good mix of activity and dialouge festivals with about 22 or so in total

Sorry, I'm all over the place.

Point is, I want more festivals in farming games. And I want more romantic festivals

I think I'm done with the Rune Factory subreddit.

People are really posting a thread in the sub worrying about what direction the new next-gen mainline Story of Seasons will take long before it's come out; only to make a segway about how RF6 will "probably" be or look garbage, even when Project Dragon hasn't even come out yet andd all we seen of 6 was a logo.

Then cue comments going "full 3D was a mistake" or "it'll look as bad as 5, probably" etc.

I'm tired.

I know being critical is important but they suck the fun out of everything. It's all preemptive dooming and I can't be assed at this point.

Day 3: What is your favorite book about Loki and Sigyn? Introduce it to the community.

The unwritten runes series by Cat Rector: Specifically The Goddess of nothing at all and Epilauge of lost gods!

(Major spoilers for the series and my own opinions!)

The series definitely has its own special spin on Sigyn that isn't too bad in my opinion, they establish her character as a go getter despite her problems of never fitting in with her divine family. Same for for the approval she seeks from Odin throughout the series!

If you're looking for the perfect dynamic between Loki and Sigyn and representation they definitely had in mythology! Such as Sigyn and Loki probably being up to no good, matching each other's energy. Loki's gender fluidity and women loving women relationships. This is so made for you!

Though there are some downsides and criticism I hold towards it. But honestly, nothing can ever be perfect right? The biggest ick is the way they portray Angrboda and make Loki cheat on Sigyn because of their tragic circumstances. Like, sure relationships have their strains and sometimes you need space..but why would you still be sexually active and have rough sex over a close friendship tragically ending.

Especially over something Loki couldn't help unless he wanted to die! Its truly its own complicated dilemma.

Neither do I enjoy the way Sigyn and Loki end up in a polyamorous relationship with a original character.. like I love original characters, but Cat really missed an opportunity for the Logynboda ship to sail. If Loki and Sigyn could make up and be happy, why couldn't they?

Oh right they made Angrboda a sour bitch.

Seeing twitter and Reddit give so much love to Holger now he's in the semis is so refreshing because when Holger plays great, he plays great tennis! I'd say for sure up there with Carlos!

But I also remember how so many people clowned on him for saying he hopes he'll be part of the next big three with Carlos and Jannik. It seems like to many people, sports and athletes are one dimensional and can either be considered great or not good enough and I think that's weird!

Especially for young athletes, give them time! One difficult season or match or three years isn't the best all or end all. Sports = catastrophizing in a lot of people's minds!

Friendly reminder that for me Kinako and Fei's mother are two completely different people. They look alike but that's all, the plot wouldn't be that altered. Asurei sent Kinako to watch over his son because he needed someone Fei didn't know. Fei's mother still dies here, all the same but Fei and Kinako are not related, Kinako just cares about people in a motherly way. (Which I adore she's so sweet)

the way tennis to motogp pipeline is definitely a thing…….

switching to motogp really does highlight how a lot of those atp guys are just soooooo freaking boring in comparison. and I’m talking about big 4 and 00’s players here. current gen is so so much worse. horrible. abolish atp

*nods in agreement* I mean it's not a completely one-way street - obviously I'm never going to stop following tennis, I'm never going to stop PLAYING tennis, I want to do more coaching again in the future... and this stuff does come and go in waves, like 2019-2022-ish I was definitely drifting more from motogp to tennis again (minus going crazy on the motogp archives during the pandemic). but at the start of this year I did have a moment where I was like... no. enough. I do still follow women's tennis very closely!! but the state of the men's game looks SO dire right now headed into next season that I cannot even pretend to be mildly excited about the australian swing (which I usually am every year, in charlie brown trying to kick the football fashion)

but yeah honestly every time I revisit motogp it's this kind of... man, I am operating with crumbs when it comes to tennis, and then motogp is kind enough to hand you an entire buffet. and admittedly valentino does deserve a lot of credit here, also makes the other blokes more interesting, can't imagine what the sport would be like without him. but crucially, you do just end up with a far more interesting slate of guys. it's a shame because, again, I might be biased but I fully believe tennis as a sport has insane amounts of narrative potential. it's just... yeah, idk what's happened. it IS also a men-specific problem, like obviously noughties wta cooked insanely hard by every metric and the women's game is still plenty engaging since then. but still!! frustrating

also my thing is. okay so the women's game right now obviously also isn't feuds galore, the top girlies mostly get on fine and there's not TOO much of an edge there. but I still far prefer it to the men, and not just because I think the women generally have way more personality. it's also just... idk, I sometimes joke with my friends that I have a chart in my head with two axes that goes. x axis = skill; y axis = evil. or maybe not EVIL, just like. capacity for drama. and draw a line across the chart. and if you're under that line, I just can't deal with you. I love underdogs, I still root for a bunch of scrubs on the men's side who are journeymen or chokers or just kinda mid. same obviously with the women. but then at the top of the men's game, it's just?? these guys who dominate SO much and are SO good, but who quite frankly do not have enough narrative juice to sustain that kind of dominance. (okay maybe rather than 'evil', let's say 'narrative juice' as the y axis.) I'm not saying they're ALL so boring that I'd hate them if they were ranked ten positions lower, but given the chokehold first the big three then this current lot have had on the game... simply not good enough

whereas with the women, we've obviously had a chaos era or three, but now we have these women who are all like... really strong, really pushing each other forward, but also deeply imperfect! and I mean that in the best way possible. igatha with her rigidness and fragility and inability to step back when she's returning - who's so fucking good, but also constantly seems to be walking a mental tightrope and is currently in a bit of a crisis where her game is at. sublanko with her history of semifinal choking and serving yips and who's constantly visibly fighting herself on the court. the fascinating contrast that particular rivalry provides, not least in how they behave on the court. gauff, who constantly appears to have a major part of her game falling apart whether it's the forehand or now the serve - and who is overcoming that primarily by just making herself ridiculously hard to beat. I could go on, I mean where do you even start with ryba... all these current stars of the sport who really feel like they're here to stay - yeah, they're not cooking up complex feuds so it's never going to be COMPLETE brainworms territory for me, but I still find it deeply deeply compelling!! I love watching them play, I'm rooting for them to figure their shit out... but also not. like. too much. it's great to follow in sporting terms!!

and if you are going to be so dominant over the sport, so unyielding, so unblinking in your refusal to allow new major competitors to emerge for such an extended period of time... well, then, as far as I'm concerned you'd better be motogp alien levels of deranged. like, that's the bar for me. sure, then I can accept it. none of this awful 'oh well, the less talented guy lost his five hundredth consecutive slam final, what can you do' business, if you're going to suppress the less talented then at least do it with the ruthlessness and affinity for existential horror that valentino displayed towards sete. enough with pretending like crowds booing your opponents for having the temerity to challenge you is something you don't even notice - at least weaponise it like valentino did. tennis as a gentleman's sport is unbearable... I'm not a gentleman, I want mess. and if you're going to dominate, at least attempt to beat each other to death with hammers!! god. is that too much to ask for

Actually making my comeback already even if it's just been like . 2 months at best that I've stopped actively posting here .

My stuff still performs well on twt and I like talking to my moots but I find myself scrolling more and more and it's just been such a draining experience man. It's like being put back in highschool where everyone just fucking hates each other and acts super insincere, a short glimpse in hell for someone who can't be mean without feeling guilty all week.

This plus some other factors I just don't wanna talk abt pushed me back to here, it's like a meadow of peace and love because discourse doesn't wring itself into my feed,, it's all just my brainrots,,

So yeah I'll remain on semi hiatus when it comes to art posting (that'll stay on the bird app!) cuz I just am not that deep into deltarune atm (actually I am, I just don't draw it LOL) but I will still use this blog for general text posts about topics that interest me !!! Wahoo !!! One day I'll make a neocities and move there but that's a goal for later this year:3
