Touch of the Sun: The Tyzula work that put me on the map. Ty Lee and Azula are in love from childhood, but Azula can't admit it and Ty Lee is too scared to bridge the gap. For a while at least. 90K words.

Dragon Empress: The Legend of Azula. Six books that I wrote over 3.25 years that covers Azula's entire life from post-Smoke and Shadows comics all the way to the end of her natural life. It's a lot but I think it's worth it. Long, long, long form redemption. Tyzula endgame. 465K words.

My Moon Flower: This one is well known because I collaborated with rising super star and Tyzula fan Vago to make a comic of it for Tyzula Week 2023. 5.9K words.

February 20th: Azutara. Arguably the best thing I've ever written. Has inspired fan art! Modern AU. Azula and Katara don't realize how much of their lives are intertwined. That's the beauty of every day life: we don't know what's going to happen on any given day. 11K words.

Autumn Leaves Trilogy: Digimon fic. Rukato. Long form trilogy series I wrote over 14 years. The first fics I ever did write. The last one, "Autumn Ends" is worth reading and I'm quite proud of it. 112K words.

Funny, Anon!!!!!! ~~~~~ I don’t really have defined opinions on the series that come after the first four, with the exception of Appmon and Ghost Game. So, sorry if I will skip those other three!

Adventure 01

• Mimi: My princess💕. Along with Katara from ATLA, she’s my own definition of what a girl character should be written like, but I don’t think you want to read long explanations😂.

• Michi: Mimi was a second mc by Taichi’s side. I feel like she had a mirror role in comparison with Taichi’s, as if she’s some sort of girl icon for the franchise. I don’t know how to explain it, but she has got so much presence in the anime, in the merch, in posters; she is voiced by AIM which allowed her to have her own ending, and somehow it feels like this fact makes her omnipresent in the history of the Digimon anime. Wishful thinking, but I like them together because of so many other reasons. THEY JUST CLICK SO WELL.

-Adventure 02

•Miyako: I know I know, she’s not that jewel of character when it comes to her writing, bur her concept has always intrigued me even when I didn’t know Digimon that well. She’s funny, clever, she’s connected with Mimi, she’s also got such a cute design ngl. Can I say she’s my favourite because of these shallow reasons? I think I will find many others when I rewatch 02.

• Daiyako: MY GUILTY PLEASURE. They’re so precious in each other’s regards, always being in the middle of teasing sessions but eventually showing to care about each other so much ? They can work platonically too, and I love pairings that are amazing both platonically and romantically.

KINDA HARD, I will admit it. I like the characters from Tamers but I don’t feel that connected to them. I used to have a huge adoration for Jenrya but it faded somehow. I like Ruki and Hirokazu but not that excessively. I relate to Juri sometimes but she has got so many moments that make me cringe out. It’s … A complex relationship…

• Takato: Again, I’m not THAT attached to him but he is a huge cinnamoroll and a great new beginning for the franchise. I like he’s so ordinary and creative, because…I can relate🤣. And I admit people often call me a girl Takato, sooooo🤣. Like you can see, I don’t have anything to say ahahahha.

• Rukato: MY BBIES, my bbies who are so pleasant at the sight too, thanks to their matching palettes. I confess I come from being a huge Jenruki shipper. Then, I’ve grown bored of those two and I’ve started getting so attracted by Ryouki and Rukato, but the latter eventually won especially because of Runaway Locomon. How could I keep myself from shipping those two after that film? I know there’s Jurato, but the future dramas made me dislike the way things develop…

• Eri: I like how she finally brought back a kind of digigirl who could be considered a real character with an interesting story, a nice and quirky personality, meaningful relationships. I had got tired of so many sexualized and pretty uninspiring digigirls (starting from Frontier era SIGH).

Eeeeh I don’t know. I liked Eri and Torajirou but I’ve discovered he’s 11 and she’s 14, so ehmmmmm. Even if the anime pushed it a bit, maybe it’s not the case to ship them ahaha.

I’ll go with • Haru x Yuujin because they are a parallel Jurato✨.

-Ghost Game

• Emma: I KNOW SHE IS NOT PART OF THE TRIO AND SHE APPEARED FOR LESS THAN AN EPISODE, but she ensnared me and makes me salty whenever I see her, because she would have been a perfect four member. Leave me alone, I need to cry and mope.

• Ruri x Kiyoshiro: The total flop this shipping was because in GG the kids had 0 interesting interactions and I want to cry again, because why is that anime so unfair. Still, I ship them, I don’t care. Ruri had her small teasing moments with Kiyoshiro and their personalities CLASH. Idk Ruri would take him to the worst night trips in forests, parks and he would tag along because Jellymon’s and Ruri’s personalities are so perfectly aligned!

30 Day Digimon Challenge

Day 8 - Favorite Pairing:

Rukato

Playing to my weakness for matching the kindhearted dork with the tsundere, as well as my preferring couples that give off rom-com vibes. The two of them have always had a fun chemistry, being similar and [mostly] different in all the right ways. Takato is a warm and open person who wants to learn to be a better Tamer, while Rika is a strong Tamer whose strength plateaus until she learns to open up and accept help from her friends.

At the end of the day, though, their dynamic is one of the many reasons I'm glad Runaway Locomon exists, because I don't think the show proper really gets everything out of them that it could have. Even looking at their relationship as a platonic one, their friendship has a certain wholesomeness to it, added to by the fact that this season's story really starts with the two of them. Plus, when you consider that every season after Tamers tries and fails to replicate Tai and Matt's friendship by copying it outright, Takato and Rika can't help but look like a huge missed opportunity. They're rivals-to-friends done right, and give off the Tai/Matt energy in much the same way Davis and Ken did: By being their own thing instead of copying what came before.

So I thought I’ve throw out some more fic recommendations since doing those 5 last night was a lot of fun. I also figured that while a lot of them will be Izuocha fics since thats my mood right now...and has been for a while cause its awesome, I might also jump series and throw out some other stuff as well. Some stuff that’s really old, but is still really good.

Green Tea Rescue By ss3dj: This right here is the longest little fic in the history of the world. At over a billion words over half of which are just Green Tea 4 Life, it says so much and so little at the same time. Of course there are moments that stand out such as...What? What do you mean I can’t self promote here? It’s my freaking list! Lowest common what? What shame? Well can I at least talk about the kissing? No? What about when Izuku walks in on Ochako and Himiko doing...? No? What about Izuku’s arm. I can talk about how it gets...No?...FINE! Okay So I’m being told I can’t talk about this one. Sorry folks. Moving on I guess.

Tamers Forever 1 - 5 By Daneel Rush: Long before BNHA and Izuocha existed, a little ss3dj grew up with a simple ship. Rukato. He enjoyed Digimon season 1 and 2, but Tamers struck a cord that made him go “WOW!” And in that show his 2 favorite characters were Takato and Rika and of course since he shipped them. It was this ship that introduced me to fan fics. I read a few, and while cute and fun, there was nothing with any real meat to it. Until I found this fic. This fic not only had plenty of meat, but it also runs the gambit of every genera you can have in a fic, angst, action adventure, humor and romance. It was the first fic that made me feel like I was reading a book. If you used to watch Digimon as a kid like me, check this one out. There’s something for everyone here.   

Higher Learning and End of Higher Learning By Strike Fiss, 2000: This right here, this is one of the first EPIC fics I remember reading as a kid. As an Evangelion fic, there is a lot of character nuances that you have to be careful about, and the author here not only hits it out of the park, but does it in such a way that every character is faithful to the source material and nothing feels ooc at all. Everyone is still screwed up. The horrible people are still horrible and even when things seem to be okay, the Dagger of Damocles is hanging above everyone just waiting to get slammed down. This is a great fic, and well worth the read if you’re a new generation of Evangelion fan that just saw the show on Netflix.

Full confession: Tamers has always been my favourite season, one of the reasons being that the three main characters got equal opportunities for character development. However, I just recently noticed how Jenrya was tragically thirdwheeling (or sidelined) in some aspects of the show (and especially "Runway Locomon"), which is a shame, since he has always been my fave. I wish he could have had more bonding moments with both Takato and Ruki. Best example was when they left the Digital World and Jenrya reached out to pull Takato in - but failed and we got a badass Rukato moment instead. Badass, but still tragically sad.

I know this wasn’t exactly what you asked, but the most common Tamers pairings on AO3 are: Ruki x Takato, Jianliang x Takato, Juri x Takato, Ruki x Renamon, Jianliang x Ruki, Ryō x Ruki, Juri x Ruki, Kenta x Hirokazu, and Reika x Yamaki.

i only had the chance to look at fanfiction.net last night, and it seems that some people do ship jenrya and juri. at least on ffn, there's more of them compared to ao3; only 2 works used the juri/jenrya relationship tag.

some of them called the ship as leeri (probably to differentiate with jenkato), and most of the fics served the pair as rukato's antithesis... so perhaps if someone ships jenrya and juri without concerning any other pairs, i would love to hear the story of how they ship em.

Sad headcanon about Digimon Tamers

I don’t know why this thing popped out in my head, and I don’t know where this comes from too (as I’m a Jenruki shipper.) - The Tamers haven’t got their Digimon back. Ruki and Takato have got married and in the following years they have two kids (two twins maybe). Both are very obsessed about their digital friends and they obviously want them to come back so much. Therefore, when suddenly in the park area a sort of temporary gate to Digiworld, which shouldn’t be there, appears, they don’t hesitate and immediately approache the gate. Although Jenrya, who works in Hypnos and knows what will happen if they go into that gate, tries to stop them, they stubbornly (especially Ruki) decides not to accept his advice. So Ruki runs into that gate and Takato follows her (maybe he doesn’t agree with her so much) and the gate closes because of Hypnos, that is still “afraid” about “The Digimon topic”. They seal the gate (just like in the end of the series) and Takato and Ruki disappears in Digiworld hoping to find their Digimon partners. In conclusion Jenrya is left alone, desperated for his friends, who most likely won’t come back so soon. He tries to open the gate again, but he knows that everything is useless and, shocked, realizes he has lost his two best friends and most of all the two twins have lost their parents. Even if he isn’t so sure about this, he decides to take care of the two little children, and he realizes that he has really to give his best in achieving his goal (bringing the Digimon back), as it would mean bringing Ruki and Takato back too. As the two children grow up, he always tells them stories about how much their parents were heroic and brave, and he lies, saying that their parents are travelling around a magical and wonderful world and they would come back someday and would bring them a lot of presents. “What if they have died and we don’t know that?” One of the two children, the guy, says one day. “Well, what is your heart telling you? Have they died or are they still trying to pursue their goal?” “I-I” And after those words the second one, the little blonde girl, shouts, “They are always in our heart! They will always warm our heart and they will return soon. Oh, they will give me a doll, obviously, won’t they, Jen-San? Jenrya smiles weakly, and thinks, looking at the sky, “For the children’s sake, Jen, find a safe way to connect Digiworld and our world. Just for their sake.”

"Miss Wild I'm tired but I can't recharge. Can you sing me a lullaby? Like my carrier used to do?" Bolt asked, holding onto his stuffed animal.

"Of course I can sweetspark." Wild smiled at the mechling, tucking him into the berth before sitting on the edge.

Resetting her voicebox Wild thought for a moment. Gently stroking at Bolt's helm.

..You should be able to hear ventilation systems during recharge. Taking out her stethoscope Wild put it on Bolt's frame, listening for the whirring of spark rotations.

There should of been noise. But there was nothing.

Grabbing Bolt's little frame, Wild shook the mechling. "Wake up little one.. you have to wake up!"

Bolt's frame only went limp. He hadn't gone to recharge. Instead he merely slipped away and offlined.

Letting Bolt go Wild shakily tucked the mechling back in, holding his stuffed toy.

"I'm so sorry Bolt.." She managed to choke out before swiftly exiting the side room of the childrens ward.

Sprinting her way down the corridor and practically throwing herself down the stairs Wild didn't stop running until she made it to her office, slamming the door shut.

The medic let out a spark broken scream, crying out as she collapsed, sliding down the door. Unable to control herself as she weeped ice coated the room, painting the walls and the floor as the snow began to fall.

The cold would protect her, keep anything that could hurt her away as she crawled to a corner and curled up and thats where she remained for the rest of her nightshift. The snow didn't stop until morning.

You don't forget your first patients death and it never gets easier no matter what others say. He was a child, taken far too young.
