I can't get over how calm Ivan looks all through the round, how quickly he changes course when he sees that Till has stopped singing and without hesitation does what needs to be done to save him, with only one moment of vulnerability, at the very end, for the last time looking up at Till hoping against hope to see him looking back, and realising helplessly and for the final time that he will not. And being unable to hate him for it still.

i think it's neat how remix 6 n ds remix 10 base the music off a specific part of the og games' music but i also think it's neat how fever remix 10 n megamix's medley remixes just base it off the game's music in general n not a specific part (excluding lyrical songs obviously). like it's neat how, like, when listening to the music for drummer duel or smth you can be like "oh that's the remix 10 part" but it's also neat how even without basing it off a specific part of the song it's still clear as that game's music. i just think it's neat.

This gimmick blog has it all: science, pictures of animals, interaction with the text of other peoples' posts, interesting information, and a unique and fun premise. As a biologist, I'm rooting for hellsitegenetics to reach the end and take the tournament, because it is truly a standout among gimmick blogs.

Incredible works of art from a limited medium, the blog favors quality over quantity and I am always in awe when a dancing creacher in Spore [2008] crosses my dash.

His spores often take him multiple hours to create, and he will go through astounding amounts of effort to commit to the bit. He made his cull poll in spore and then blew it up. Hes also super responsive and active and seems really eager to share his creation techniques and spread the joy of making things in spore [2008]. His blog almost singlehandedly sparked a significant resurgence in interest and playerbase of a 16 year old game that most people see as nothing but a meme. Hes just a guy who likes spore [2008]

First thoughts as follows:

1. They used the mobs who only attack when you intrude their territory and steal from them to be the invading hordes of villains, when they could’ve used the entire species named “Pillagers”

2. They whitewashed Steve so that he could be played by an actor who doesn’t even look like him in any aspect. Is that a sweater

3. Dumb jumanji plot when they could’ve used minecraft as the setting and worldbuilding and based it on characters who are from that world. (Humans from our world…who meet a native?? Why not either make it about that iconic character, maybe his origin story of his first journey through the game, OR another group of characters who’ve just freshly spawned and Steve leads them along as a veteran mentor??)

4. Several years ago an entire cast of potential characters was introduced into the game. And they didn’t use them

5. I have three novels sitting on my shelf that would’ve made amazing movies if they wanted to put minecraft in theaters. I could write a better story for the essence of minecraft and I have.

6. If you’re gonna make a world out of Minecraft, don’t put the blockiness in the living things—or at least make it subtle. A wolf whose fur has square shapes in it only when you do a closeup? When you squint at a bee, you realize it’s the shape of a rectangle?

A world where the trees are made up of block shapes and the land is shaped by straight, sharp lines? That’s an aesthetic. Or, even, something like this, where the land reflects the flat terraced environment. Just…make it subtle. Trees and fence posts and ropes that, in our world, would be round, just happen to have sharp edges forming cubes in this one.
