"Admit it, Rutherford. You've been passing notes to the DM again!" -- When the party never seems to find any treasure, but the thief is the only one not complaining. (S John Ross, "Dragonmirth," Dragon 176, December 1991)

Trick or treat! This week on the Vintage RPG Podcast, we’re getting into the spooky season a little early with The Dare (2020), a scenario for Call of Cthulhu that pits some costumed kids against a haunted house and the thoroughly horrific witch that lives there. Originally written by Kevin A. Ross as a somewhat legendary tournament module in the late ‘80s, this modern renovation featuring kid-sized Call of Cthulhu rules brings the game to modern audiences for the first time. It’s notable for being one of the very first RPG scenarios to cast players as kids (though it is emphatically NOT for children) and it will surely be a welcome addition to your Halloween one-shot arsenal.

Ross Scott's video on this game is amazing*, and was also foreshadowed years ahead of its release via an otherwise inconsequential joke in Civvie 11's Half-Life review.
*apart from the fact he doesn't mention Blood when talking about the game's 1920s setting and impressive level-design.

Gamers seek legal win that would stop developers from rendering online games unplayable: 'It is an assault on both consumer rights and preservation of media' | PC Gamer
Love it! Also, been a big fan of Ross' videos for years, check him out and sign a few petitions while you're at it!

Watching Ross’s game dungeon video on David Cage’s first “Not a game” Game Indigo Prophecy Fahrenheit and it is like. Embarrassing. Even for 2005 this is embarrassing. I cannot fully articulate how ridiculous, racist, cliche, sexist, childish, and like bad this game comes across. If a high schooler wrote this game it would be like, understandable. This is some of the dumbest shit I have ever heard and I’m barely exaggerating.

The first video in this saga I posted a link too however long ago still gets notes occasionally, so I'll go ahead and link this one here too.
Tldr: if you'd like game devs to stop making it impossible to play your games 5 years after they launch, 10 if it's popular, and want to try and do something about it, go to stopkillinggames.com and go from there.

Made a video about the wonderful Trophy Dark game. A super rules light horror game that has become one of my favorite one shot systems and just favorite systems in general!

Have you heard of that creepy PC adventure game "Drowned God"?
This?
This feels like the first I'm ever hearing of it, but I swear I might have watched a Youtube video on it at some point. Feels like something Ross Scott would dig up for a Game Dungeon episode. Or Mandalore. I look at this Drowned God game and it makes me think of Ring, which Mandalore covered recently.
Sounds interesting, at least, going by the HG101 article I linked.
