Waterflower Family Trivia

Misty’s Trivia:

~Misty’s parents didn’t die or abandon the gym, so Misty had no reason to travel and meet Ash.

~Misty had briefly met Ash as he was her first opponent to show that she was ready to take over the gym, she was upset that she lost but due to how she put up a good fight she was going to be the next gym leader, which made her happy.

~Misty had met Lana not long after her and her family moved to Kanto and happily welcomed Lana as a gym trainer.

~Misty was surprised when Lana confessed to her and thought it was one of her jokes, but when she realized she wasn’t joking she accepted Lana’s feelings.

~Misty was the one to carry Lapis.

Lana’s Trivia:

~Lana’s family moved to Kanto for a change of scenery.

~When Lana heard where they were moving to had a Water type gym, she immediately wanted to be a gym trainer.

~Lana had a crush on Misty when she saw Misty performing in her sister’s water show The Misty Mermaid, even thinking that Misty was an actual mermaid.

~Lana confessed her feelings to Misty after two years of working with her.

~Lana would often flirt with Misty before they were dating, Misty didn’t mind.

Lapis’ Trivia: 

~Lapis having a Togepi is a reference to Misty’s Togepi from the anime.

~Lapis’ Golduck, Seadra and Politoed are references to Misty’s Pokemon in the anime.

~Her Golduck being a reference to the wild Golduck Misty battled with.

~Her Seadra being a reference to Misty’s Horsea if she had actually evolved.

~Her Politoed is a reference to Misty’s Politoed.

~Lapis does have an interest in Alolan culture as Lana’s side of the family is Alolan and she spends her time learning about Alola when she isn’t training to be the next Gym Leader.

~The one who gave Lapis her hair style was her older cousin Rosemary, the beads she wears on her head were given to her by Gale.

Brook’s Trivia:

~Brook actually has brown hair, he dyes it pink to match his mom and he doesn’t care if anyone judges him for having pink hair.

~Brook having a Mantyke is a reference to his father’s Mantine.

~Brook really likes looking at history in his free time, no one knows this due to him being embarrassed about it.

~Brook is the third oldest of Lapis’ family.

~Brook was named after a small stream, fitting into the water theme of the family.

~Brook’s childhood nickname is Orange due to how he always wore orange, which is also his favorite color.

~Brook’s favorite food is Oyakodon and his favorite drink is lemonade.

Gale’s Trivia:

~Brook actually has black hair, he dyes it dark blue to match his mom.

~Gale’s Pichu is a reference to Lt. Surges Raichu, only Pichu will be a Pichu a while longer.

~Gale playing villain roles in their water shows is a reference to the Pokemon Adventured Manga where Lt. Surge was a member of Team Rocket.

~Gale is the second oldest of Lapis’ family.

~Gale was named after a type of sea storm.

~Gale’s childhood nickname is Flash because of how he always dashes around.

ALL OF MY KIDS BY REGION (UPDATE 2)

This didn’t stay consistent T-T  Here is another update for some kids whose like names and parents I updated. Not as many ships changes this time I promise!

I put a + in front of the fankids that have one or both parents that are game only characters. My fankid universe is more anime centric but mingled with gameverse stuff. I left the + next to Hop and Victor even tho they were just in evolutions and are the whole reason I made most of these Galar ship changes, but it’s not the main anime so that doesn’t count.

I put a * next to kids whose names I recently changed, there is a ** next to kids that are new to this particular version of the list. The kids who changed ships but not names have ^ in front of them. ? aspect of the characters up in the air.

Melli somehow leads to Harley. I know this man would never marry a woman but Harley comes from his loins somehow they are too fucking similar-

Akari is the ancestor to Lucas who eventually get’s thrown back in time. Thankfully they immediately pick up on the family vibes and just treat each other like brother and sister. Maybe she get’s with Wanda’s brother, Zeke, so that’s why Dawn and Lucas end up having similar appearances.

Cyllene x Prof. Laventon. Okay so this would make Cyrus, Leon and Hop related somehow but to add some degree to separation to that let’s just say Cyrus’s part of the family comes from a sibling of Cyllene. Also since Cyllene is someone who seems to care for others unlike Cyrus I want her to have the fun descendants. But Cyrus got the no eyebrows and bad at feelings part of that bloodline.

Iscan x Palina’s descendants lead to Marlon. It still works weather you acknowledge the weird tan or just pretend he’s that shade all the time. 

Tuli is the ancestor of Bianca, this was something I thought the moment I saw her in game but I am going to take something else from this video on ancestor speculation and say that she is also Ginter’s wife which would make Bianca and Volkner like cousins or something. (that video I linked is very good and it’s also where I got the Marlon idea from so go watch it 😊)

Alternate Next Gen (Relatives): Rosemary Sketchit

Rosemary is the daughter of Daisy and Tracey. As a young girl, Rosemary enjoyed watching her mom and her aunts perform in water shows and would always watch them along side her cousins and it was because of the influence with watching their respective moms that they started their own water show where they started calling themselves “The Captivating Cousins”. Rosemary is a lot like her mom, being cheerful and often acting as the brains of the water shows they put on, like her mother, Rosemary does harbor some skills in battling which could make her a capable gym leader but she chooses not to be a gym leader as she feels that Lapis is more capable and serious about being a gym leader than her, Gale has a lot more determination than her and Brook has a better team for battles so Rosemary feels that performing is better for her than battling, but she will still battle to protect the gym. Rosemary also has an artistic side that she got from her father and is a very skilled artist, being able to draw anything with a lot of detail to it. She also inherited her father’s observation skills and his good eyesight, often making her the best person to watch practice matches between Brook and Gale and will point out if they’re doing something such as biting their lip, she also had gotten Tracey’s ability to know when a Pokemon is able to use a certain move but it works different for her, she’s able to apply that skill to people as well as Pokemon. Like her father, she’s very gentle and she has a hard time saying no to people, mostly to kids or her cousins but she will sometimes lose her temper when someone gets under her skin, the only ones who often don’t see that side of her are young children and her cousins. Rosemary often plays the lead roles in their water shows or she’ll let Lapis play the lead role and will be the director, she also paints the sets and make the costumes for the shows.

Her Pokemon:

Azurill- Azurill hatched from an egg given to her by her father’s Marill after she had gotten the egg from his partner. As Azurill is still young, she gets very uneasy when she isn’t near Rosemary and always stays near her, often being carried in her arms or bouncing alongside her. Azurill is the youngest of the baby Pokemon trio is always crying when something scares her, which makes Rosemary or the other baby Pokemon to comfort her when she cries. Togepi, Pichu, Mantyke and Azurill are known to be the mascots and stars of many of the water shows the cousins create together and she enjoys taking part in the water shows as she gets to be with her friends and her surrogate mother. While she may be a crybaby, she’s still friendly to other Pokemon her size or children. She enjoys playing in the water and swimming with Togepi, Pichu and Mantine, she also enjoys swinging her tail like a lasso as well as bounce on her tail, which is how she’ll entertain young kids, often acting like she’s a circus Pokemon. Azurill can be shy when meeting Pokemon that’s bigger than her and will often cry at the sight of them, the only big Pokemon she’s okay with are the Pokemon belonging to her trainer’s cousins since she knows them. She’s the younger, easily scared sister that the others have to watch out for as they don’t want her to cry. Azurill has a special bond with Lapis’ Togepi, Brook’s Mantyke and Gale’s Pichu, the four of them see each other as siblings despite none of them being the same species or sharing parents.

Ability is Thick Fat.

Moves are Water Gun, Helping Hand, Bounce and Charm. Locked moves are Whirlpool, Mud Shot, Draining Kiss, Hyper Voice, Copycat and Water Pulse.

Brionne- Brionne was given to Rosemary by her grandparents when she was a Popplio after the two of them went to a trip to the Alola region. As a Popplio, Brionne was more or less nervous about being with a trainer as she was afraid of how they would react to her but she was happy when Rosemary liked her and was very happy to be with her. When she evolved, she became a lot more lively and was always happy to dance both in the water and on land. Like her trainer, Brionne loves being with children and enjoys entertaining them by blowing water balloons for them allowing them to float around and dancing for them. Brionne also loves to sing and will always sing for her trainer, her trainer’s cousins, young children and the baby Pokemon. Brionne will often act as a damsel in distress for the water shows but she’s actually a capable battler despite how she pretends to be helpless. Brionne is aware that the other middle stage Water starter Pokemon have crushes on her but she isn’t sure who she likes the most, leaving her to be very conflicted.

Ability is Torrent.

Moves are Water Gun, Disarming Voice, Moonblast, Bubble Beam, Hyper Voice, Water Pledge, Perish Song, Ice Beam, Draining Kiss and Life Dew.

Milotic- Milotic was caught by Rosemary while she and her family were in Hoenn and while Milotic was a Feebas. Rosemary found Feebas to be rather cute instead of ugly like most people when they see Feebas and she took great care of Feebas after catching her. Rosemary wasn’t sure what Feebas would evolve into and just decided to wait and see what would happen. At some point Feebas had grown a Prism scale which had fallen out, to Rosemary’s confusion she gave the Prism scale back to Feebas would caused her to evolve, much to Rosemary’s, Brook’s, Gale’s and Lapis’ amazement. As a Feebas, Milotic had low self-esteem and wished that she could have a trainer to call her own and was very happy to have a trainer like Rosemary who didn’t care about how she looked and was happy to play with the baby Pokemon and the other Water-type Pokemon in the gym. After evolving, she gained a lot more confidence in herself but she remains humble when someone compliments her and how beautiful she is by thanking them with a small bow. Milotic still adores the baby Pokemon and children in general, she allows Togepi, Pichu, Mantyke and Azurill to ride on her and she acts as a mother figure to them, often telling them to be careful or not stray too far from their trainers, she does the same for children who come to the gym with their parents or older siblings. Milotic will assist Lapis with gym battles as well, being allowed to be used against a trainer with six or more badges.

Ability is Competitive.

Moves are Water Pulse, Aqua Ring, Hydro Pump, Mirror Coat, Dragon Pulse, Surf, Aqua Tail, Ice Beam, Scald and Safeguard.

Seel- Seel was put under Rosemary’s care after the gym Dewgong had an egg with another Pokemon, Seel had imprinted on Rosemary and Rosemary was happy to add him to the team. Seel is a very cheerful and jolly Pokemon, he always will play with the baby Pokemon and any other Pokemon or human he sees, making him popular with any kids who come by. Seel is absentminded and often sees everything as a game, even a Pokemon battle and he doesn’t understand that a battle is a battle but he will still be a pretty tough opponent due to how he’s able to dodge a lot of attacks thanks to him learning how to dance like Rosemary’s Brionne. Aside from playing roles in the water shows, Seel will also hand out the Cascade badge to trainers who beat Misty or Lapis similar to what his mother did when she was a Seel. Seel also trains himself to battle at any point in case he has to act as a gym Pokemon for Lapis.

Ability is Hydration.

Moves are Rain Dance, Icy Wind, Encore, Aurora Beam, Dive, Double Team, Return, Echoed Voice, Water Pulse and Aqua Tail.

Finneon- Rosemary caught Finneon while fishing and was surprised to see a Sinnoh native Pokemon in Kanto, she didn’t complain as she found Finneon to be very cute and was happy to have her part of the team. Finneon is a kind and gentle Pokemon, she adores being part of the water shows and is happy to do what she can for her trainer. Finneon is laid back and goes with whatever is going on and is okay with being a side character or a star as she knows that Rosemary is in charge and she calls what she gets to do, she’s also happy to just hang around and get to know the other Pokemon in the gym, to which she’s great friends with almost everyone due to how social and kind she is. Despite how gentle she is, she can also be determined and ready to battle whenever she’s called to be a gym Pokemon for Lapis, Finneon doesn’t mind and she’s okay with being used for one or two badge trainers as she knows she isn’t strong enough for trainers with more badges than that.
