Life of a Whis

Four years... Daily Whis has been running for four years now and I genuinely can't thank all of you enough!

I know this endeavor started as a silly thing I wanted to do because I was inspired by daily-squilf, but I never expected this blog to grow so much and become such an important part of my life. Whistlepaw, no. Whistlebreeze has grown so much in the past four years and so have I alongside whis. This blog genuinely means so much to me. It's gotten me through horrendous times and I also got to bring my joy to it too. Whis means so much to me, I draw her all the time in class or when I lack inspiration. I can draw that face with those fluffs anywhere.

And none of this would've happened without your support either. All the loving comments and reactions to my drawings is what kept me motivated to draw for so long, and today you all proved again why Daily Whis couldn't be a solo mission. Thanks to you I still got to do the yearly celebration of posting one drawing per hour every hour ignoring the fact that this post gets 20 drawings technically, I'll share all the separate frames in a reblog. Thank you so much to every single one of you for participating in this, or supporting this blog for the past four years, you are all so incredibly amazing

To celebrate the four years of this blog, I think we need a name change. Whis got her full name, so from now on this blog will be daily-whistlebreeze to match that change. I'm not planning on stopping soon either, I will keep going until the Erins finally cave and make that damned book or the series stops. So now, I hope you all enjoyed the fourth anniversary of Daily-Whistlebreeze, I'll be back tomorrow with another day of Whis and her antics

Part one of Ivypool's Heart cats! Spoilers under the cut:

First up is Galestar of Stormclan, formerly of Windclan. She might be one of my new favorite leaders y'all... I put her and Stripestar's unnamed kits here, bc I figured any content made of Galestar would at least include her first litter as well. The hair and tail are supposed to be curled at the ends there, it was difficult for me to draw it so hopefully it translates lol. Next is Stripestar of Stormclan, formerly of Thunderclan, and Rosebush who might be named Shadebush? Idk, I went with Rosebush since that's what the wiki has. Rosebush was Thunderclan before Stormclan. Then Whitebreeze and Swiftwing, who were both Windclan before Stormclan. All of them with living eyes even though we only see them in Starclan. Next up is Slate and Beach, sons of Flurry from the Sisters. Beach has a scar on his flank from the infected wound. Y'all don't even know how disappointed I was to read that he was a dark tabby, I was so sad, I had a sand-colored design drawn up before I had even gotten the book :( At least I could bring over the fluffy hair tuft and freckles. After them is hostile kittypet gang No. 200; Pumpernickel, Zeke, and Curry. And finally is Jake the Other One, and Sweetums, whom Tempest was said to take a liking to. Jake wasn't described with a fish hook earring, but I wanted to give him a little something extra to help differentiate him more from the expansive list of black and white cats. It was going to be a crab claw at first, but I changed it.

Lesbian; she/her

Age as of 1st arc's beginning: 8 cycles, 10 moons; ~52 Hyrs

Title meaning: -bush =  A sturdy cat, a cat you can depend on; is especially good at building; a cat who spends much of their time helping around camp and fixing dens

Caretaker of Thunder Order

Mentor: Tawnyspots

Mother: Poppydawn

Father: Windflight

Siblings: Sweet

Half Siblings: Dappledew; Thrushcloud

Kits (outsider sire): Redtail; Spottedleaf; Willowchime

Other notable kin: Downnose (niece); Cricketstep (nibling); Star Ravenscourge (nephew); Dustpelt (nephew)

Extra notes: 

She defo has a secret outsider gf or something, she deserves a gf. If I wasnt attached to Snowstorm and Thistleclaw's fucked up relationship plot, Rose would have been Snow's mate.

Character Summary:

Rosebush is a sort of jack of all trades in the Caretaker role, she is very big and strong, she's one of the best builders in the Order, and she does a lot of the heavy lifting around the camp. She also is very loving and empathetic and loves caring for kits, elders and just anyone who needs some love and care. She's a big buff lady who loves and cares about everyone.

Rose is the mother of Redtail, Spottedleaf and Willowchime, she always wanted kits so she found an outsider to sire a litter! Its pretty sad that her kits had such short lives... at least Red and Willow are carried on through their children.

Rose is also in cahoots with Bluefrost and Thrushcloud about Thistleclaw's assassination. She doesn't join in herself, but she instead stays in camp with Spotted, she knew her daughter needed her.

Rose is one of Bluefrost's best friends, Blue, Snowstorm, Thrushcloud and Rosebush are/were a tight nit friend group, and were almost always spending time together. The deaths of Snow, then Rose and then Thrush is one of the biggest blows to Bluefrost's mental health.

Rosebush dies early in the first arc due to illness, though she lasts longer than in canon bec I think her death would be more impactful if her relationship with Bluefrost, her kits and the Order was established first.

I take this opportunity to put here some elements of France folklore concerning the Roses.

The flowers blessed during the Corpus Christi will protect the house from the storm and sometimes these same flowers are burned as soon as a thunder is heard.

To guarantee their child a "rosy complexion", some young mothers bury the umbilical cord of their newborn under a rosebush.

Often too, the rosebush is linked to death.

When the last flower remaining on the stem is turned towards the house, it announces an imminent death. (this belief is still very much alive and has many variations, depending on how the rosebush is turned.)

The Rose bush is recovering nice, it now has new buds and no spots. Pruning and air circulation is very important to roses. I posted a before photo and video a few weeks back where the leaves all had black spots on them due to lack of pruning and over mulching. This rose bush is now happy and healthy and we look forward to the write roses that will bloom soon. If you would like to see this video and more click the YouTube link below
