A Wish rewrite

(Scrapped) Act I - Prologue

We hear a woman’s voice reminiscent of the Golden Age of Disney, narrating events from a book:

Once upon a time, Stars roamed the earth. Magical beings from the sky that used their magic to help people, to assist them in fulfilling their dreams.

However, the Stars soon started to simply grant wishes, and people became lazy and dependent, demanding the stars make their wishes reality. The Stars became full of themselves and mad with power, almost destroying the kingdoms.

One survivor, Magnus Arman, escaped his burning homeland. He saw the wreckage the Stars had caused, and vowed that he could never lose the people he loved to the Stars again.

On his journey, Magnus came across another wrecked kingdom. Another land the Stars had destroyed. Another land with no survivors… but one. Magnus heard a faint sob in the distance. Once he followed it, Magnus came across a child— Asha Arabella.

Magnus took Asha under his wing, and started working to stop the Stars. He studied their magic, bringing his young daughter with him on his adventures.

While he studied, he met a young woman named Amaya, who cared for Asha like her own. Soon enough, the two fell in love and wed.

But one day, more Stars fell from the heavens and attacked, wanting all the magic for themselves.

That day, Magnus almost lost his family.

So Magnus, determined to protect his family, used all his magical knowledge and became the Wishgranter, one who would decide what wishes were good and what could never be granted.

Note that the book doesn’t tell exactly how Magnus defeated the Stars… but anyways now he has a sick-ass white outfit like the one we see in the canon movie.

He defeated the evil Stars, and together, Magnus and Amaya founded the Kingdom of Rosas, a safe haven across off the Iberian Peninsula where people could give their wishes to Magnus and he would keep them safe from harm, from the greedy Stars. Magnus became known throughout the lands as Magnifico, the master of wishes.

And often, the wishes people gave Magnifico were good, and he granted them.

We see Magnifico granting a wish [I can’t find the picture but let’s say the dressmaker one we saw in the movie with a callback to Sleeping Beauty’s dress. And you know what, it’s blue.]

Little Asha was raised in the castle where she was doted on by her parents.

Teen Asha, just a bit younger than she is now, so around fourteen, and the page flips to Asha now, seventeen years old.

And this is where our story begins.

As promised, here's my proposed rewrite treatment for Disney's Wish. It's not a super drastic revision so as to become an entirely different story from what we get in the film we have, it's one that makes just enough expansions, alterations, and fixes necessary to turn it from a good little Disney fairy tale flick into a truly great one. And personally, I've actually sort of fallen in love with what I've come up with here and really, really do wish it could exist in some form.

ACT 1

- The storybook opening tells us the tale of a young man whose family worked in a harbor town and he made a wish upon a totem for their burdens to be lifted so that they'd be happier and have more time for him; the town ended up being marauded by greedy thieves who torched the place, with the young man taking a boat to survival only for the boat to get wrecked landing on a desert island, the youth losing everything he had in the wreck. Now knowing well the value and the danger a wish can hold, this man learned sorcery, got wed to a loyal wife, and together on that island they built the great kingdom of Rosas, which they now rule as the long-lived king and queen.

- We then meet Asha, whose personality is a bit different than in the film we got: in this version, she's dutiful and overachieving, yet at the same time withdrawn and lacking much confidence to put much effort into what she's doing and she struggles with this contradiction. Moreover, she has six friends, and she is the "bashful" one of the group (Asha = Bashful). Asha's nearly 100 year old grandfather Sabino appears far more aged and decrepid, and her mother Sakina lingers a bit more on her late husband in a sad, lethargic way. Asha is preparing for her job interview to become the apprentice to King Magnifico, and as she steps outside we meet her six friends. Halle, the happiest of the bunch, takes the lead in singing the big opening number "Welcome To Rosas", which gives exposition on how things work in this kingdom, and during this we see contrasts between some citizens who are overly happy and enthused in a very cult-like manner and some who are only half-awake and half-heartedly trying to stay into it. This contrast is shown but is not fully explained yet.

- After a scene talking to her friends ("You care too much!") and being shown the way into the castle by the warm, gentle and courteous Queen Amaya, we're introduced to King Magnifico, an immediately apparent feature of him being that he doesn't look quite as radiantly majestic and beautiful as his face has been made to seem in all the statues, drawings, cookies, etc. Coming off of a failed interview, he is notably very condescending towards Asha, treating her like a child who he doesn't believe will attain the apprenticeship either. But when the subject of Asha's father comes up and how he influenced Asha and how much she cares for Rosas, Magnifico seems to see some of his old self in her, reiterating how he suffered great loss at a young age due to the selfish wishes and actions of greedy thieves and built Rosas as a place where that couldn't happen, so he gives her the job. Overjoyed, Asha tells her friends, goes home and tells her family, and goes to bed that night hoping her father's watching over her now.

- Asha's first day on the job soon comes, and it coincides with the day of that month's wish giving-wish granting ceremony. King Magnifico is more giddy and animated than we'd last seen him because, as he puts it, he loves his apprentice's first days when he can dazzle them with all his splendor and win their love and devotion to him and appreciation for his important royal duties. He shows Asha into his sanctum where he stores all the wishes given to him, and while she's gazing at them and looking for Sabino's, Magnifico sings a verse of "At All Costs" while holding, balancing, and caressing the wishes in a very possessive manner akin to how Tangled's Mother Gothel stroked Rapunzel's golden hair, raising some pretty big red flags. It's revealed that Magnifico uses the magic blessing of these wishes as a sort of charger for his sorcerous powers, which is how he keeps going with magic every day with his magically granted long life sustained (yeah, he basically feeds off of the souls of his people in order to keep his and Amaya's lifespan going). Then the dispute happens when Asha requests for the king to consider granting Sabino's wish at the ceremony, Magnifico declines, rationalizing it could be too vague and pose a threat to the kingdom. Asha realizes Magnifico never intends to grant most of these wishes yet refuses to return the ungrantable wishes to their owners; when she questions his methods, Magnifico lashes out at her in fury. Then comes the wish ceremony, where Magnifico spitefully pulls a fake-out with the wish granting just to subtly shame and humiliate Asha, and he makes it known that her grandfather's and mother's wishes will be kept by him forever, never to be granted. Queen Amaya than pulls Asha back to tell her that her apprenticeship has been terminated and that she shouldn't bother thinking too deeply about anything she saw or heard on the job nor try to tell others, as Amaya has eyes and ears just about everywhere in the community, revealing her own dark side.

- Back at home, Asha tells family what she found out and wants to tell Sabino his wish that she saw, but the old man won't hear of it. Asha fails to convince Sabino and Sakina that Magnifico is deceiving them as they both defend Magnifico's decisions and Sakina snaps at Asha with a line about "how much grief must she be made to feel from Asha wishing for the impossible", triggering Asha to run out in tears, her pet goat Valentino following her. Dwelling on memories of her and her father where he took her to the Wishing Tree and they talked about his personal theory that people wish upon stars because living beings are all born from fallen stars and their souls are tied to stardust, and then saying to herself "I didn't want to do this. I swore I would not do this", Asha goes to the Wishing Tree she and her father used to share, looks to the stars, and sings "This Wish." And in response to Asha's heartfelt wish, a star descends from the sky, creating waves of radiant golden magic that gives off a warm feeling in the hearts of those who feel it, and Asha meets the chubby anthropomorphic little Star as it's literally enticing her with the red thread of fate. From the castle, Magnifico and Amaya witnessed the wave of magic and fear an unknown magic source that might be a threat to their kingdom and the hold they have on all the magic and wishes, so they begin to research their books and scrolls on magic.

ACT 2

- The first act segues into the second with a sequence with Asha in the forest where Star brings plants, trees, fungi, and inanimate objects to life while also giving animals the ability to talk* and make music, and they perform the "Natural Ensemble", done in the style of a traditional Disney Princess fairy tale. This prompts Asha to enlist Star's help in retrieving her family's wishes. Back at the castle, Magnifico and Amaya cannot find any answers to what this new magic source might be, so Magnifico, believing Asha might, either alone or allied, be out to usurp his power, turns to unseal a tome of forbidden dark magic, but Amaya talks him out of it. She then tells him that as they cannot baselessly accuse and arrest Asha for treason, so they need to approach this situation another way and use the people's love of him to get them to reach the truth for them. * (It's up to you whether or not you want Valentino to talk too, though I'd definitely re-add the "constantly trying and failing to climb" gag)

- Asha meets with her six friends again, they're introduced to Star and told that Magnifico is hoarding wishes that he intends on never granting, and so they need to be returned to the people whose hearts they truly belong to. While Magnifico is addressing the public and the teens ask questions to hold his attention, Asha, Star, and Valentino use the dumbwaiter to infiltrate the castle and locate the sanctum of wishes. When surrounded by all the wishes, Star's power grows and it evolves into the form of a boy Asha's age whose shapeshifting abilities are now even greater but who still cannot speak words. At around this same point, the people have been beginning to question Magnifico's rule and why everything in Rosas is so tailored towards him despite his role being to protect and provide for the people, and then everyone feels the next wave of magic from Star's evolution, proving definitively that it didn't come from Magnifico, creating some disillusionment among the people, much to the king's absolute fury.

- Railing against a traitor within the kingdom who must be found and given capital punishment, Magnifico furiously shuts the doors and starts to look around the castle to see if the magic came from there. Amaya tries to soothe him, urging him to calm his mind and cheer himself up by gazing at his reflection in the mirrored walls. This instigates "This Is The Thanks I Get", where after the second chorus, the king vocalizes that his years long rule has been too soft so as to spoil the people and make them all entitled ingrates no better than thieves, so he needs to harden his heart and exercise more power for the sake of a more tightly controlled reign over Rosas and "for their own good", and echoing Asha's line ("I didn't want to do this. I swore I'd never do this!"), he opens the forbidden magic tome and gains power from its corruptive influence. Asha, Star, and Valentino manage to retrive Sabino's wish and escape the mad king's notice.

- Sabino is overjoyed to get his wish back and be able to remember it, playing on his lute and singing "A Wish Worth Making", but Sakina is more uncertain that what Asha is doing is wise or right. Meanwhile, Magnifico and Amaya are seen meeting with someone who Amaya says can tell them about their "traitor". That night, Asha meets with five of her friends out in the woods (Simon is allegedly asleep and couldn't make it) as they're hanging with the new and improved Star, who is learning to speak words and shows off more of what they can do in the song "I'm A Star" (obviously with some rewritten lyrics). Asha and Star then have a disagreement when she chides them for being too freewheeling and reckless with their magic, but Star gets her friends on their side as they chew Asha out for being so shy and indecisive, committing herself to good service yet doing little of the heavy lifting herself. Asha walks off upset, Star feels bad and follows her. Asha tells Star that when she was younger, after her father passed away and she saw how grief-stricken her mother was over it, she kept going to the Wishing Tree and wishing on the stars for her father to be returned to life and kept telling her mother she was doing so, that eventually the wish will come true. This added to Sakina's grief and she took ill, making Asha believe she'd driven her to that point. From then on, Asha stopped opnely wishing for anything and comformed to Rosas' society, becoming more dutiful yet more meek and anxious in the process, to her reget. Star manages to say "sorry."

- Asha and Star return to Asha's home only to find King Magnifico waiting for them, having assaulted Sabino and Sakina with magic that's now holding them down. Having been informed that Asha was indeed responsible for Star's summoning, Magnifico intends to arrest the whole family for high treason and harboring a criminal, and in a cruel act, he takes out Sakina's wish and shatters it, its power getting absorbed into Magnifico's own while Sakina reels in pain. Her wish is stated to have been to compile a great memoir of her life's greatest discoveries and greatest joys so that her heart could reach and live on in many others for all time. Discovering how much more power he claims from wishes, Magnifico intends to absorb Star's magic and all of Rosas' wishes in order to become an all-powerful tyrant, forcing Asha, Star, Valentino, Sabino and Sakina to fight back and flee. Outside they are met by Amaya on horseback, who is ready to take the Star by force if she has to, but Star helps everyone escape her.

- Rowing to a nearby island for refuge, Asha has a crisis of faith and blames herself for what's happened, because she never learned to stop looking to the stars and wishing for the impossible. Star is hurt by her words, taking them to mean that Asha regrets inviting their presence into Rosas, and tells her that they certainly do not regret meeting her. Using their magical stardust to lift her up into the sky with them, above the clouds and near the stars above, Star affirms that they are Asha's deepest and most precious wish incarnate, and they want to protect Asha just as much as she's protected them. Star and Asha end the second act singing a duet reprise of "At All Costs".

ACT 3

- Over at the castle, the ever-unhinged King Magnifico reads up on his new dark magic he's now hopelessly addicted to and forges a mirror-headed scepter capable of breaking wishes and absorbing Star. Asha, Star, and Valentino leave the boat and head back towards Rosas, determined to free all the other citizens' wishes. At a public gathering in front of the now crazed Magnifico, Simon is revealed to be the one who sold Asha out in hopes of his wish to become a knight being granted. Magnifico grants the wish, but with his magic he additionally bewitches Simon into becoming his brainwashed, magic-powered henchman. Magnifico puts out a reward of another wish granting ceremony for the wish of whoever helps Simon and his knights capture Asha, also threatening that the longer it takes for Asha to be captured, the more wishes he will break. Carnage breaks out as the crowd is torn between loyalists to Magnifico and those who don't think this is right. To quell this, Magnifico unleashes more magic that desecrates the area and orders his knights to arrest all rabble rousers, prompting Amaya to suggest he reign himself in better. Magnifico points his staff at her, telling her to never again second-guess him or give him orders or else, much to the queen's horror.

- Asha, Star, and Valentino rally the other friends but are caught by knights and bounty hunters while doing so. In the chase, Star gives Asha a stick that can channel Star's own magic, allowing her to blast away the pursuers and get everyone to a safe hiding place. Everyone determines that their king has stepped too far and must be deposed, as sung in "Knowing What I Know Now." After the song is done, Queen Amaya enters and makes it clear that while she and Magnifico stopped really truly loving each other long ago, she's been conspiring with him for her own sake and for what she thinks is best for Rosas, and does not regret doing so. But she now sees her husband and his newfound power as a threat to all that they'd built together, so she agrees to help the friends free the wishes and overthrow him.

- While Magnifico is gleefully breaking more wishes and the friends infiltrate the dungeon to free the recently taken prisoners (whose wishes Magnifico has broken), Asha goes out into the woods to act as a distraction for Magnifico to go out and pursue on horseback. Via the dumbwaiter, the friends, Valentino and Star join Amaya in the king's study in order to open up the ceiling to set free the wishes, and Amaya makes reference to the fact that sealing the forbidden magic within "that heirloom" was one of the first fundamental cornerstones of Rosas, so Magnifico has now betrayed that (implication: the book belonging to Magnifico's family is what the marauding thieves were after in Magnifico's past, is what really brought about the destruction of the town, and Magnifico took it with him as he fled). Star tries to lift all the wishes out through the ceiling and in the process evolves once again into a princely looking grown adult, who the teens help when he starts straining. Outside, Magnifico corners Asha only to be revealed to be a shapeshifted Simon, who Asha has to defeat with help from her animal friends from earlier before heading back.

- Just as the wishes have been sent out into the open air, the real King Magnifico ascends the castle's tower, sucks the power out from every wish to absorb it all, and traps Star in his scepter to act as a living magical battery for his power. Asha attempts to stop him but is easily overpowered, as a now enlarged and feral Magnifico blocks out the sky to prevent the citizens from wishing on stars, blasts his wife for her betrayal, creates magical chains from out of the ground that bind all the citizens in place, magically tortures Asha in front of everyone, and when the remaining knights rush to stop their mad king, he unleashes waves of dark magic that set Rosas ablaze with green fire, declaring his intention to oppress the disspirited masses forevermore and that he would gladly much rather allow his kingdom to physically crumble to the ground than give up all this power.

- Unwilling to give up even as Magnifico magically beats her down, Asha encourages the citizens to search their own hearts for the magical stardust within them and wish about changing Rosas' future. In a choral reprisal of "This Wish" the strength of their collective desire grants more power to Star and shields them when Magnifico tries to destroy them all with a magic blast, until it finally overpowers Magnifico, trapping him inside his staff, and the citizens regain their sealed wishes with a newfound appreciation of pursuing them. Amaya names herself the sole ruler of Rosas, ordering the mirror shard holding Magnifico to be put up on the wall in the dungeon.

- Now that the citizens have the ambition and self actualization to make their wishes come true on their own, Asha says they won't be easily decieved or controlled by Amaya, to which Amaya says she will accordingly tread with caution in her new rule. A regretful Simon is forgiven by Asha and friends, then Star makes their final evolution into an aged celestial entity who must return to the sky. Gifting Asha with a wand embued with unlimited stardust magic so that she can become a Fairy Godmother and continue inspiring people to keep dreaming and wishing, and sharing a heartfelt goodbye with her, Star lifts up into the sky, growing larger all the while, until they're far in the distance in the shape of a normal but particularly bright star that still shines as night falls. Asha uses her new magic to create fireworks as the storybook closes to a "And they all lived happily ever after." THE END.

A “MAGICAL” GARDEN WEDDING IN STA. ROSA, CALIFORNIA

It was a picturesque setting for a garden wedding—a large “old oak tree” (as sung by Tom Jones in “The Green Green Grass of Home,”) with rows and rows of grapevines (not the grapevine, the source of juicy news, rumor or gossip) scattered all around as far as the eye could see, with rolling hills of golden brown and green and distant mountains, silhouetted against a cloudless azure sky. It was a “magical” wedding where Ryan Baluyot and Kristen Damron exchanged “I do’s” under the old oak tree—a tree which gave some shade as the shimmering rays of the ardent sun lent its brightness, seemingly giving its nod of approval to this momentous occasion. 

The day before Ryan had posted on Facebook that he felt that this wedding would be a “magical” one and magical, indeed, it turned out to be. From the lovely music played by a string ensemble that included a violin, a cello and several guitars, to the brilliant attire of the groomsmen and bridesmaids; the cute little flower girls; the Bible bearers, one of whom had to be carried by his mom all the way to the front; the beautiful bride, her eyes welling up with tears from the emotion that gripped her as she marched down the aisle with her dad, “all dressed in white”; the bright and happy face of the debonair, sharply-attired groom as he came to claim his bride from her father; the smiling well-dressed parents of the bride and groom; and the fashionably-attired sponsors, the male partners wearing their elegant barongs. It was a beautiful and "magical" garden wedding, indeed.

As the minister uttered his homily, there was a hush in the audience, everyone straining his/her ear to hear what he was going to say. He started out with some humorous stories about the groom and the bride both of whom he had met in Denver, Colorado where he was a pastoring one of the SDA churches. He alluded to the grapevines scattered all around—pointing out that they (the bride and groom) are like the grapes--they can only flourish if they stay connected to the vine, represented by Christ. He also opined that they should emulate the old oak tree under which they stood, still standing tall, its twisted and gnarled branches, signifying years of weathering the constant beating from the rain, the sun and the storms—representing the “storms” of life.

As we trudged along the dirt road from the site of the wedding ceremony to the Damron’s backyard for the reception, we passed along a grape vineyard, with clusters of grapes hanging from the vines. I was reminded of what Christ said about the vine and its branches, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NIV.

10 Most Anticipated Holdovers of 2021

Ten films that played at festivals or were released in their home countries in 2020 I can’t wait to see in 2021.

Asia dir. Ruthy Pribar

Pribar’s feature film debut is a mother-daughter tale about a woman forced to grow up and become a better mother after her child develops a life-threatening illness. The film was nominated for (and won) a slew of Ophir Awards (Israel’s Oscar equivalent). It also won the Nora Ephron award at Tribeca, an award given to a female filmmaker and whose winners I have almost universally loved over the years.   

Beans dir. Tracey Deer

This was one of the three TIFF people’s choice award winners in 2020. Loosely based on Deer’s own childhood the movie tells the story of a 78 day standoff between two Mohawk communities and the Canadian federal government as experienced through the eyes of the titular child, a young girl nick-named Beans.

Bruised dir. Halle Berry

I really love Halle Berry as an actress and I keep hoping she’ll actually get good material and she never does. Fingers crossed that her directorial debut Bruised in which she plays a former MMA fighter looking to get back in the ring will finally do her justice. 

Honeymood dir. Talya Lavie

I am a huge fan of Lavie’s directorial debut, Zero Motivation and have been anticipating whatever she made next for years. Honeymood follows a newlywed Tel Aviv couple that, go on a surreal honeymoon around Israel following a huge fight. I love Lavie’s work and frankly this plot description could be about anything and I would watch it. 

Mainstream dir. Gia Coppola

I may be alone in this but I loved Coppola dreamy and romantic debut Palo Alto and have been waiting for her next move ever since. Well she’s back with Mainstream where Maya Hawke plays a director turned Youtuber when an consumerist screed she accidentally captures goes viral on the Internet. Coppola has reunited with a lot of her Palo Alto crew so I know that this will be, if nothing else, visually brilliant.

Nomadland dir. Chloé Zhao

I’ve been a fan of Zhao so I was always anticipating this movie but time on the festival circuit means it is now a TIFF People’s Choice/Venice Golden Lion winner. Zhao has a good shot at being the first woman of colour to be nominated for Best Director at the Oscars and if she isn’t nominated at all it will be a huge shock and the think pieces will be unending. 2021 will be the year of Zhao and I can’t wait!

Rosa's Wedding dir. Icíar Bollaín

This is exactly the kind of cheesy life-affirming movie I love. Set in Spain the titular Rosa is a middle-aged woman who has lived her life for everyone else and decides to start doing what she wants by throwing a wedding to celebrate her commitment to herself. Her family thinks she’s marrying her longterm boyfriend and start planning her wedding to him. Shenanigans ensue. 2020 was a shit year. All I want to do is watch happy movies with ensuing shenanigans!  

Shiva Baby dir. Emma Seligman

The reviews for this film, in which a bisexual Jewish woman is forced to attend a shiva where she runs into both her ex and her sugar daddy, have been absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait to see it and hope it lives up to the hype!

The World to Come dir. Mona Fastvoldt

I have been really impressed with Fastvoldt’s writing work with her husband actor turned director Brady Corbet so I was immediately intrigued by the fact that she’s stepping into the directing chair again with a period piece about neighbouring 19th century women who fall in love with each other despite being married to men.

Zola dir. Janicza Bravo

I felt like I had been waiting forever for this movie and then covid-19 hit and I had to wait over a year longer. Based on an article based on the infamous Twitter thread about a young woman going to Florida to strip and then finding herself entangled in a sordid tale of prostitution, sex trafficking and violence, Zola has been hotly anticipated for years. Also ready for Taylour Paige to become a star (go watch Jean of the Joneses if you don’t know what I’m talking about).

Jimena Rosalía Gallardo López del Carmen was born on the 20th of March, 1981 at St. Mungo’s hospital by Guillermo Gallardo Cuarón and Amalia López Santiago del Carmen. She had a happy childhood, for neither of her parents were Death Eaters and both of them were loving, nurturing and amazing parents to her and her younger sisters, Rocío and Almudena. She was homeschooled, taught all kinds of things, both muggle and magical until her Hogwarts letter came.

Hometown

The Finca Gallardo is a house that was once a mighty estate that fell upon the fall of ancient aristocracy. She was sorted into Slytherin and in her fifth year she started dating Guillermo Gallardo, fellow latino, and the two fell head over the heels, which led to them becoming parents at only 19. She was happy nevertheless and raised her daughters with love and kindness.

Chilean who fled the Militar Regime in 1973 to England for better chances, he came late into Hogwarts, when he was only 14, in his fourth year, being sorted into Gryffindor. He struggled quite a bit with the British accents, for he was used to the American, but could understand it thanks to his father, who had lived several years; he was living with his grandmother because his mother was sick with breast cancer at the time and the father needed to provide money all the way from England. The moment he met fellow latina Amalia, he was whipped: she was smart, incredibly gorgeous, resourceful and witty. The two of them dated the year later and their love for one another was such that at 19, he was already a father, but he was overjoyed nevertheless. Jebron and Jimena weren’t from the same year, but Jebron had heard of Jimena and her sisters and the trouble they usually brought, and Jimena had heard of him and his twin brother Sinncere. In fact, Jimena first met Sinncere, for both of them were rebels and troublemakers, giving the headmaster a headache, especially during 1997 & 1998, when Umbridge, Snape and her goons all invaded Hogwarts. 

With his help, she formed a secret resistance in Potter’s absence and always brought trouble to the new biased staff, and with the secret approval of McGonagall, who gave them tips and trained them alongside Flitwick. During that time, Jebron and Jimena saw each other more often and eventually fell in love, and even fought together in the Battle of Hogwarts. After that, their relationship was cemented and Jebron became another member of the family, jokingly called ‘the token male’.

Her makeup style is very different from her sisters: while Rocío has a more discreet one and Almudena has a simple one of black eyeliner, big eyelashes and red lipstick, Jimena has a creative makeup, focused on her eyes, putting on glitter, stones, drawings, etc. Her mother says she paints her own paintings on her face, and she likes to go according to the dress code 

Her routine is not as exhaustive or laid-back as her sisters, but she likes to look neat, so she uses five hair products, two types of cream alonsgide deodorant, solar cream, special oil and facemasks. She always has a hairdo ready for the day. 

She’s an incredible gymnastic and she’s very elastic, which helped her many times. 

She also knows Jiu-Jitsu and has only used it when really necessary
