It's just the idea of "paying rent" to your own parents that feels gross. I mean the concept of them being landlords or something.
Don't misunderstand me. I think contributing to the food and bills when you are working is the normal and reasonable thing to do. It would be unreasonable to not do it and I get that's what you are referring to.
I think it's just what the phrase implies? A different dynamic comes to mind when someone says "paying rent" rather than just being another provider in the house.
yeah I get you, my phrasing was off. for what it's worth I've had long periods of unemployment as an adult & my mother wouldn't have dreamed of kicking me out for that. but seeing her struggle to pay the bills is terrible so I'd give her my entire paycheck if she'd let me.

nothing funnier than working in a call centre but having so bad phone anxiety that everytime i have to call someone non-work related it instantly ruins my day

having actual sweet stuff for the first time in a week or so (bc ED Brain(tm) ) and I figured I'd make enough at once and have it over today and maybe tomorrow and I'm about a third of the way through it and have a horrid headache and feel rotten D:

Somethings I learned while looking into this is that, for one, the city is getting sued for it, and two that there are companies buying homes and renting the separate rooms inside as individual leases.

#im moving in may#i move way too much. this time last year i was posting about moving too#im moving back to my hometown. the latest struggle is finding someone to sublease my room#who will hopefully want to get on the lease in august#if you want to uproot your life and move in with the nicest woman ive ever met hmu#$575 a month and a $1200 deposit. hmu for the city#i just finished unpacking everything and now i have to pack it all back up again#my sibling and i are moving back in with our parents to save some money for a year. its gonna be a hard year for mental health#i made a bucket list for the city. things i want to do before i leave#its just a lot. all of it is a lot#ive only lived here since august. its just not the city for me#i highly recommend it for you tho! Lmao, when you talk more about suing your landlord for attempting to gaslight us into paying more than what the portal says + refusing to repair most things in the room when we ask but you talk to a former tenant you were neighbors with and find out that despite winning her court case for a similar issue she and her children were still evicted immediately after the case and they were banned from the premises. Laugh out loud amiright? 🤣🤣🤣
#shouldn’t be surprised when this is the same asshole who raised everyone’s rent immediately a week after a fire that left 200 ppl homeless#he’s not even focusing on the repair on the repair of those rooms it’s all about the front office and#renovating the rooms unaffected by the fire in order to justify the 1200-1400 rent#talkies
