#imagine a school dresscode with a very strict no tank tops no spaghetti straps no shoulders no midriff no bottoms cut above the knee#no low cut jeans no skinny jeans no leggings unless your top is basically a dress no yoga pants no ripped clothes no boys with long hair#no girls with short hair 3 pieces of jewelery total 1 earring per ear no dyed hair policy.#and thats your whole town#and if you dont follow it theres a non-zero chance everyone will stare at you with varying levels of bewilderment bordering on detestment#and parents will probably grab their kids and tell them theyll never be allowed to dress like you as long as theyre living under their roof#to be clear these arent my views this is just what i grew up in

guys I just survived a ladder that wanted to kill me. cheers
#context- I work odd jobs in film production a lot. I recently picked up a new part timer filming high school football games#this particular one was an hour and a half away so needless to say I was already mentally preparing for a LOT#and I got there and the spot where they wanted me was on the ROOF of the press box. which I knew beforehand#what I did NOT know beforehand was that the only way up or down was a ladder that pops down from said roof#which would’ve been okay but I was carrying three equipment bags like a pack mule#so I climb the ladder and even that was fine until the top step#I faceplant straight onto the roof because there is a barrier that’s like a foot long between the ladder step and the roof floor#so. rough start. but the view is great and once I’m up there it’s kinda fun#until. UNTIL. I wanted to go pee because again. hour and a half drive to get there.#said barrier made it so you have to climb down to get to the ladder step and railing and I pissed around playing chicken with that thing for#for an HOUR playing chicken because I could not fucking handle it#so I get through the first half okay but decide that I’m booking it to the bathroom the second halftime starts#and I forced my fat arse over the ledge and I figured out a grip on the trapdoor thing that helped keep me from falling#and I felt like I’d just made a person break cause like. I genuinely was not sure how the fuck I’d make it down for a bit#after that? might’ve been the high of Doing The Scary Thing but the rest of the time I had fun#I got a nice coach in the press box to help grab my bags as I handed them to him so I could climb down to leave#drove an hour in pitch darkness on country roads to my boss’s house to drop off the footage then 20 minutes home and now#and now I think I could sleep forever and ever but I fuckin did the thing

I love the idea of both Kaeya and Diluc being like. Constantly freaking ppl out back in their knight days bc they’d climb fucken anywhere and everywhere unprompted, no matter how dangerous or impossible it seemed

I miss everything outside being green or colorful sososo bad we haven’t had enough snow this year to actually make it pretty outside because like after mayyyyybe the first day it all just melts into gross sludge and gray lumps.
#I miss how green the porch at my old place was and the views from the kitchen and living room and bedroom windows#but we got priced out of it because I guess we’re not good enough for a nice view of the trees 🙄#like tbh the view wasn’t even THAT GOOD bc it was just the fence into someone’s backyard#but in the spring/summer it was covered in vines and there were trees and moss and dandelions in the gap between our porch and the fence#and it was sooooooooo green and pretty#now we’re in a basement apartment and yeah there are windows#but my bedroom window is like. a small walkway to the laundry room and then the neighbor’s ugly ugly plain fence + the top of their ugly#roof. and the other windows don’t have a whole lot going on either#like it’ll probably get better but it won’t be the same 💔

#visit from my nanas husband who abused me followed by a viewing for the house we're still living in with bare minimum notice#set up by our landlord who's barely been communicating with us so we dont even know if we need to start packing to move or not#because he wont answer fucking yes or no questions to let us know if we'll have a goddamn roof over our heads soon#and thats on top of all the routine hell that is my health. plus my mystery chronic pain and mobility issue is chewing on my leg#so yknow. Not too long ago I made a post about the Sanded Church of Skagen that was abandoned due to being buried in sand, but the “sand problem” is much larger than the church.
If you look at Denmark on a map you might notice a white dot near the very top of the country.
That my friend is a huge sand dune that arose out of the sea 300 years ago and is slowly eating its way through the landscape at 18 meters a year.
And if you look closer you might notice that it’s heading straight for the towns Rannerød and Hulsig and when that happens no one will come to save them because the dune is protected. At least they’ll see it coming.
That means that in a few hundred years we won’t just have a sanded church, we’ll have sanded towns with more roofs and towers sticking out of the dune than any tourist bureau could wish for.
Because the dune is a very popular tourist spot. I myself have been to it a few times and it’s quite the experience for a child to suddenly be in a “desert” in Denmark.
If you feel sad for the people in the towns just remember that’s nature. The reason why the dune is protected is because the area used to have many more but people made an effort to destroy them and it fucked up the ecosystem in the area. The dunes leave moist wetland behind that loads of rare creatures thrive in.
So today the inevitable end of the towns are viewed as sort of romantic poetry about nature, the march of time and appreciating the now.
And isn’t it kinda beautiful? To know that something like this exists in the world that will destroy our towns, roads and railways that we could easily eradicate with our modern technology but we choose not to simply because we know it would be wrong.
