A Change of Heart LaVergne, who initially stated his intention to fight against any payout to the Goldman family, has now shifted his stance. In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he acknowledged his earlier remarks and affirmed his willingness to accept Fred Goldman's claim and handle it by Nevada law. O.J. Simpson's Lawyer Reverses Stance Addressing Past Remarks LaVergne attributed his previous statements to his frustration with Fred Goldman's attorneys, whom he accused of continuing to disparage Simpson even after his death. He admitted that his remarks were harsh and not reflective of his intentions to be transparent and fair in handling the estate. Commitment to Transparency To maintain transparency, LaVergne plans to involve the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in the estate proceedings. He intends to invite Goldman's mother and the individual managing Brown's estate to a meeting at his office, where he will present his plan for addressing their claims. Unresolved Debts Despite the substantial judgment awarded to the Goldman family in 1998, Fred Goldman has stated that he has yet to receive any payment from Simpson. The tens of millions owed to both the Goldmans and the Browns remain unresolved debts, which will take precedence over unsecured creditors in the probate process. Probate Process and Estate Management Simpson's assets, including real estate holdings in Florida, have been placed into a trust and will undergo a probate process in court. LaVergne, acting by the wishes of Simpson's four adult children, is overseeing decisions related to the estate based on their consensus. Funeral Arrangements Regarding Simpson's remains, LaVergne confirmed that they will be cremated, with the decision made by Simpson's children through consensus. While there are no immediate plans for a funeral ceremony, a memorial celebration of Simpson's life is anticipated shortly, intended to be limited to family and friends.

But now new questions, most notably, will the family of Ron Goldman after his estate to pay off the civil judgment against him? And how would that work? Remember, while Simpson was found not guilty criminally for the murders, he was found civilly liable, responsible in 1997 and ordered to pay a whopping estimated to have increased to more than 100 million. Now, due to interest in the fact that he has been paying the Goldmans have been very vocal about how little several times, having his income garnished from his book If I Did It. Kim Goldman, Ron Goldman sister, stated at the families only received $114,000. An attorney for the Goldman has confirmed the family will be going after the estate for what is owed to them. Jesse, legally, what is going to happen now with the Goldmans and Browns in their effort to try and get this money? Well, first. Let me just say, because he was so close to catching the killer, Right? I mean, he was going on the court for not having said that. So this is going to go into probate court and remember this wrongful death action. We call that a secured debt. They would have priority over unsecured creditors. So if you actually can find some money in his estate and a lot of it has been kind of kept in t shadows because he's been alive, they would get priority be paid out first. But again, we don't know the substantial assets that he has. We know that through the years there was the money that came out of the book. But what else does And they would have a better shot now.  And fortunately or unfortunately, now that he's dead, to be able to get that money. But actually, it seems to me that O.J. Simpson made every effort to ensure that he didn't have to pay off a penny. And I would assume that is included either spending everything he had or trying to put any assets difficult to get after it. Yes. I keep wondering, though, that seems to be worth spending nine years in the Lovelock prison in Nevada might be worth a penny or two. had some of that stuff. And he tended before that terrible incident in Nevada to hole up a lot of these things in storage containers all around the country, got a hold of it and stole it out of a storage container and then trieded to sellt to O.J. in the hotel room, which landed him in prison. But I think that there may be some memorabilia could be worth millions. It just depends on if the Goldmans can find it or if O.J. children are not going to be wise enough to continue hiding it. I want to play a piece of an interview that you did with the Goldmans in 2017 after Simpson was released from prison. This is number two. Let's listen. A civil court ruled that, in fact, he was responsible. Yeah. I mean, we were very lucky to have 12 jurors unanimously the one that caused Ron and Nicole's death. And we were awarded 33 and a half million dollars. And we're still trying to collect that. Fred, do you ever think from him? No. He he made a vow never to pay a dime if he had to work. It never. Worked. But we'll keep chasing them. And Chris, I think they're going to chase him even more. I think now was the opportunity, Right, Because they might have a chance to explore all these accounts, And you guys are the lawyers. I'm not.
