Please say hello to all the new little friends that joined my doll family in 2023!

There are a lot more here than I expected to have when the year began, mostly because I got super lucky and found a lot that were on my wish list, and a few that weren't. Most were bought secondhand, some came from thrift stores, some came from a local doll show, and some were bought new. A few were from brands I've collected before, and a few others were from brands that were new to me.

Throughout the year I focused on wrapping up my collection of Our Generation, Hearts for Hearts, and Magic Attic Club dolls, and so I won't be adding any more of those dolls. For most other brands represented here, I probably won't actively seek out any more, but I'm open to more if they happen to cross paths with me.

ZEKE BAEK (nonbinary, he/they, kim mingyu) is 25 and a HAIRDRESSER from ATHENS, but now they can be found in MAIN VILLA. they are known as THE AESTHETE because they are PATIENT, but if things kick off, they can be a bit NAIVE. they’re BISEXUAL and are most interested in grafting NAOMI & ROMI. one thing they want to accomplish in casa amor is SOMEONE WHO WILL GENUIELY CHERISH HIM. BIO!

Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Zeke lives there with his grandmother. His mother passed giving birth to him and his father had passed away when he was five. A bit rough for him but it’s alright because Zeke has his grandmother who loves him dearly. 

Because it was only the two of them, Zeke was always found at his grandmother’s side. If she went to the grocery store, he was pushing the cart for her. If she was visiting a friend, he was sitting at the table eating whatever cookies they gave him. And if she was working, he would be there too, and that was his favorite place to be. 

His grandmother worked as a hairdresser at their local hair salon and it easily became Zeke’s favorite place to be. While dominated by women, he never felt like an outsider, they never made Zeke feel like an outsider. Instead of doing his homework, he would sit in his designated seat and watch everyone work. It always amazed him how they did everything so effortlessly and continue to gossip about everything happening in their lives. For a little kid, it was magical to watch it all happen. 

Zeke’s fascination never left as he grew older, he simply pushed him down the road of becoming a hairdresser. Many tried to push him towards becoming a barber ( bc Men ) but he would always shake his head no, a barbershop wasn’t his home, it was a hair salon.

Every day after school he would go to the hair salon. Everyone knew his name and face, hell, he even worked there as a receptionist and cleaned up for everyone. Lowkey was used to bring in younger customers because of his looks,,,,, the same could be said now. 

By the time they graduated from high school, Zeke went off to cosmetology school. They walked out as a licensed hairdresser and worked at the same place as their grandmother. And everyone loved it, happy to see Zeke everyday now as the young adult worked beside them. And once again, Zeke brought in a lot of customers for them because they look like a literal Greek God. 

And it’s fun, they’re doing something they love! Their career is great but that’s... about it. Zeke doesn’t have any friends his age, all of his friends are married women in their 40s and up, some even being widows. While he made friends at school, none of them really stuck around for long. The same could be said about their love life. 

No one really stays for long, both platonically and romantically and it sucks, ya’ know. Zeke begins to think that he’s gonna be left with older women his entire life until they women at his job talk about Love Island. And they’re all telling him that he has to go onto the show because it’ll be fun and maybe he’ll meet the love of his life. It sounded silly at first until he’s like hahha UNLESS...? 

So boom, he arrives during Casa and he’s like “ I want love blah blah blah “. Idk I GIVE UP NO MORE INTRO MEET ZEKE BAEK CLAP YOUR HANDS. 

QUICK FACTS!

Has a pet dog named Atlas! Atlas will be turning four in February.

Has yet to tell their grandmother this but Zeke does want to move out but doesn’t want to leave her alone. 

Traveled to California once with friends, enjoyed the state for the most part. Considered moving there once. 

Realizing now that Zeke does in fact know three languages! Korean, English, and Greek <3

this is what she got for being a responsible adult. then again, what responsible adult would willingly wade a potential storm to go and get … ice cream. so she might’ve had a craving and yeah maybe that craving led her all the way to manhattan, but what she hadn’t considered was the giant ‘closed’ sign there to greet her upon her arrival. perfect. great. now she’d been stranded with no dessert and, given the increasing severity of the storm, probably no way home. perhaps this was how she met her inevitable demise … a scene that would surely be a shoo-in for the newest addition to ‘dumb ways to die’ — girl freezes for frozen treat. or perhaps, the gravitational pull of manhattan’s allure had other plans for her. was this the higher powers begging her to stop scorching her split ends with a lighter and taking a pair of kitchen scissors to her bangs after any minor inconvenience ? “ god, yes. please. ” quick to accept the gracious display of hospitality, romi crossed the threshold with a bow of her head. so this is what an actual salon looked like, sure beat the years of sitting in a friend of a friend of a friend of her mom's kitchen when she was a child. “ hey — y’got any of those overhead driers like from the 60s ? never been under one before. ” they could most likely, no they could most definitely tell.

The snow was getting thick out now and Kian was seriously beginning to debate closing the salon for the day and heading home. They'd already had multiple clients call out on their appointments unable to get out there, which had left the place empty for the last couple of hours. They'd been hanging out of the doorway vetting the situation when a particularly strong icy blast of wind hit, knocking everyone in the vicinity around a little. Their eyes fell onto the closest couple of passersby and they called out with a smile, "You want to come in and warm up for a minute?"

╰ 𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗔 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗭𝗔𝗞𝗜, 𝗖𝗜𝗦 𝗙𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗘, 𝗦𝗛𝗘/𝗛𝗘𝗥. hiromi 'mimi' nakamura. twenty-two. heiress/tattoo artist. her family is using her tattoo shop to launder money for a local cartel. glitter smudged underneath your eyes, trading whispers in a dark room, and biting into an apple just to realize it's rotten.

backstory ! (drugs tw)

originally hailing from tokyo, japan, the nakamura’s are legacies. coming from a long line of business men on her father’s side, they were old money even before hiromi’s father and uncle started what would eventually become a multi-billion dollar energy company. 

nakamura industries grew and grew faster than anyone could have predicted. not wanting to miss an opportunity, the nakamura’s packed up and made the move to los angles california exactly a year before hiromi was born. 

turns out they weren’t as prepared for the move as they thought /: one bad investment and the loss of a substantial amount of money later, hiromi’s uncle is the one who made the decision to get help from some more than shady business partners

in return for saving nakamura industries, these new business partners only had one condition: the nakamura’s would have to find a way to help launder money for their cartel. the task had seemed easy enough but as the years passed they only got deeper and deeper into criminal activity. there was a lot of secrecy surrounding the nakamura name because of this, as well as a lot of whispers from other people questioning their success, but nobody could prove anything illegal was going on

she’s the middle child! she has three older siblings ( two brothers and a sister ) and one younger brother. there was a lot of pressure for her older siblings, especially the boys, to take over the family business one day so their upbringing was a lot tougher than hiromi’s and her younger brother’s was. because of that there was a bit of a strain in their relationships, and hiromi was really only close to her younger brother growing up. 

all the nakamura siblings led very elusive lives. since they were all aware to some degree of their family’s involvement with the cartel, they all learned to keep people at a distance and not to talk about family with anyone which kind of translated into making it hard for hiromi and her siblings to really make what felt like real friends ):

not to make her a cliche middle child but....she really was ignored ??? for the most part like her parents loved her and stuff but it was obvious where their priorities and where their attention went. when she was little it made her sad but the more she grew up she kinda just accepted it as the way things were and just used the fact that they weren’t breathing down her neck 24/7 to her advantage

which is why she got really good at finding that validation and attention she wasn’t getting from her parents elsewhere as she grew up (whoring around), and got even better at talking herself out of trouble. turns out she had a talent for words, for knowing when to drop her last name, and knowing when to shut up and bat her eyes. being reckless like this was her own secret rush. she knew it would be dangerous for herself and her family if she ever got into any real trouble, but the possibility of it was so addictive she really couldn’t stop. 

what started out as simply partying turned into a full blown addiction. she was out clubbing almost every night, close with just about every bouncer in beverly hills, always going wild but she made sure to keep her stunts within the four walls of the clubs she frequented. at home she was back to being careful, but when she was alone away from her family she could be whoever she wanted

becoming a tattoo artist had always been something hiromi had wanted to do, so when her parents said for her 20th birthday they’d buy her her own shop, she didn’t turn their offer down. turns out their intentions had little to do with making her dreams come true and everything to do with the fact that they needed another business where they could launder money through. her tattoo shop would become one of many businesses the nakamura’s owned or co owned (some others being a hotel, a strip club, a restaurant and even a hair salon) purely to keep their promise to the cartel 

not wanting the fact that she had her own shop to be completely spoiled, hiromi agreed to let her parents launder money so long as she herself didn’t have to be directly involved. they agreed and she went on pretending like nothing was going own although the thought is always at the back of her head

she managed to build up a good rep for herself though thanks to social media!! being in beverley hills her clientele naturally ended up being a good mix between everyday people, social media influencers, models, and even a couple of actual known celebrities o: now that she has her own actual business she’s tried to keep her wild side in check, but temptation is everywhere!

personality + tidbits !

she goes by mimi, never hiromi. sometimes people call her hiro or romi, but mimi is definitely the most popular of all her nicknames and what she uses for all her social media. 

she’s kind of hard to get to know /: not in the sense that she’s purposely cold or rude, but she can come across as intimidating or detached a lot because it takes her a while to open up to people. even with those closest to her she still struggles, often keeping a lot of personal stuff to herself in a way that gets frustrating when people who care about her see her upset but refusing to open up about it. shes the type of person you can know for years only to realize you barely know anything about her

when she’s partying with you, though, that’s the easiest way to become her friend!!! another reason why she likes to abuse things like party drugs and alcohol as often as she does is because they make her feel a lot more open and receptive to making real connections

she has a bad habit of seeking validation from others, which mostly manifests as her being overly sexually promiscuous to the point where shes kinda dependent on being desired as a way of feeling good about herself </3

not a very good influence.....like....at all DWJDJWDJW will 100% be the person egging you on in situations where she should really be doing the opposite.

she’s just generally....ambiguous with her morals because of the way she grew up. being as impulsive as she is, she can come off as selfish sometimes just because stopping and considering the consequences of her actions isnt something she usually does

but she tries for those she’s closest to! she values her friendships a lot more than she probably lets on. vulnerability isn’t her strong suit at all but shes working on it /: 

shes also the worst at keeping plans or showing up to things on time like JSBJDWBJDW this bitch is always disappearing if you want her to show up to anything you better drive her there yourself 

she loooooves tattooing her pals she’s always trying to sweet talk people into getting more tats! if you know her though you know you better not be getting your tats elsewhere or shes gonna be big mad

she has a habit of buying friends ridiculously expensive things even the most mundane gifts (like a bottle of wine) always end up costing a ridiculous amount of money and its never on purpose she just gravitates towards the finer things in life and she doesnt even realize

dana finley. french manicure fanatic. big hair always. generally has a bad attitude. super close with her family back home. will threaten you that she'll leave and stay at her sister's house and her brother's will come kick your ass. wants to be married with kids as a housewife in the next three years. is a secretary and is bad at her job-- the only reason she keeps it is because she's intimidating (and her boss thinks she has a great ass).

romy bisset. works at her grandparent's fruit stand in a cute ally way. speaks french, english and a little bit of spanish bc she was homeschooled on a farm in the south of france and had a lot of time on her hands. very intelligent and could go to school to be a dr, lawyer or anything she wants but then she feels like she'll miss out on so many opportunities. she knew her small town was too small so now she's struggling getting by in paris as a fruit stand worker, waitress and tour guide. she wears many hats.... no literally she loves wearing hats. wants to be a million things: painter, dressmaker, handbag designer, florist and farmer. a kind hearted, impulsive, wild, unkempt, daydreaming lover.

jennifer "jenny" silva. a lot of people find her very annoying because she's very in your face at all times. danced on a dance team for two years before she dropped out. she works in a high end lingerie store during the day time and at night she's a burlesque star. cue "but i'm a good girl" from xtina. lives off of bagels and lox from her local deli. loves new york. knows she's the shit and it gets her in trouble.

elton sutherland. 29. the oldest and acts like it. he plays the guitar, but also has the ability to pick up any instrument and learn fast. atm he plays the drums for his brother's band but he knows it won't last long. designs a lot of the concept and album art for their band. he’s the most mature out of the four boys. he was married for a year, but she died of an od. still hurts like hell. is only a little coldhearted bc life has been a bitch.

jackson “jackie” sutherland. 25. has been discussed as being the next greatest guitarist of our generation. sometimes wants to do more heavier sounds than what his brother’s do, but for the time being he’d never leave them. has had a stutter since he was a child and got bullied a lot for it, but now he doesn’t give a fuck. gets in to a lot of fights which gets him in trouble. refuses to drink bc their dad was an alcoholic, but heavily smokes. has been arrested before. if you’re his friend he loves and protects you. if not, he probably doesn’t care that much.

iggy sutherland. 24. although he is probably the craziest of the four brothers---- adrenaline junkie, heavy drinker, impulsive af---- he’s the most passionate. his songs are fucking stellar. other artists BEG for him to write for them. a serial womanizer, but also is a lk bicon. knows he’s at risk for being an alcoholic but is ignoring it for the time being.

wilson sutherland. 23. the soft baby. he plays piano and has a voice of an angel. was their mother’s favorite to a fault and it makes him feel bad that his siblings didn’t get the attention he did as a child. is the lead singer of the band they created. don’t tell anyone but he’s never been with anyone before. no girlfriend, no hook ups, only one kiss his freshman year. he puts up a front that he doesn’t though.

eloise princeton. 22. she works at an animal shelter during the day and at night she's either partying or working as a gogo dancer. has a bad relationship with her busybody parents. she's permanently stained with glitter. had a sugar daddy JUST to get her nose done. isn't afraid of drugs. sleeps with a ton of random boys because she's secretly sad. isn't good at relationships. eats too much junk food. dating apps are basically games for her at this point. her aesthetic is heroin chic meets disco. best friends with angel.

syliva diangelo. an art director. was an indie darling from 16-23, but some unfortunate things happened and a lot of men did some shitty things to her and sadly they were powerful and covered it all up. now, she works mostly with women or with men she can trust. her trust issues are negative. however, she continues to be funny and lighthearted, but there's always a part she hides from people. has a creative eye for all things in life.

Deepika Padukone recently returned from the UK after spending time with Ranveer Singh who is shooting for ‘83. Deepika and Ranveer will be seen once again together in Kabir Khan’s ‘83 as Kapil Dev and Romi Dev. While the film is still a while away, Deepika spent some time on the sets and returned to India post the Wimbledon 2019 final match. Post her arrival, the Padmaavat star was once snapped exiting filmmaker Luv Ranjan’s house after a meeting with him and Ranbir Kapoor.

A few days back, Deepika was spotted post a salon appointment. After that, Deepika was snapped today in Mumbai. The Chhapaak star walked straight to her car and didn’t stop for photos. Clad in a white casual t-shirt and sporting a bun, Deepika looked at the paps from far and then went away in her car. The 33-year-old actor kept it casual yet stylish for her meeting. Adding a pair of black sunglasses to complete her chic look for the day, Deepika looked pretty.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, but fans surely didn’t want their favourite star to work with the director.
