Leo is such a nerd and so is Octavian. They find out they are part of the same extremely weird, extremely isolated, extremely nerdy fandom and it's all they talk about in their free time. Which Octavian realizes isn't a lot bc Leo overworks himself to feel useful, since he thinks he has to prove himself bc he's the "seventh wheel".

Octavian ofc did not let that bullshit fly and he forced Leo to take 15 minute breaks every two to three hours and have a snack and hydrate properly. Which Jason, Frank and Hazel find weird, because from their experience with Octavian, he's also a workaholic. Especially when he gets an important-looking vision, he cute teddy bear after teddy bear for days straight.

Not that they disagree with Octavian, they do think Leo shouldn't be so hard on himself, but it's just ironic that Octavian says that out of all people.

In my headcannon, the divorce happened when Thalia was still young and before their mother was even pregnant with Jason, so Octavian only had memories of Thalia. He sees in a vision that he reunited with her and was in a good mood that day. Annabeth noticed and asked him about it and since they were friends, Octavian told her about his family and all that he remembers about his sister... And Annie's jaw is on the floor bc she's knows Thalia and they're pretty close.

Once he gets over the initial shock, Octavian abuses that power as much as he possibly can. Sure, Jason is the son of Jupiter. "But I'm your big brother so." He's also praetor. "But I'm your big brother so." He's also one of the seven. "But I'm your big brother so." Jason has officially lost the ability to do or say anything to Octavian. He could be granted godhood and it wouldn't matter bc no move is stronger than the older sibling move.

He obviously feels a powerful need to wrap Jason in a couple of heavy blankets and bury him under a huge pile of stuffies but he recognizes that Jason is a teenager and would probably find that embarrassing and he's also the son of Jupiter and the praetor of New Rome, so it's not like he needs to be babied. So Octavian makes sure not to do it... too often...

In my mind, the tallest Octavian is going to get is 7'0 or 7'1 because I just imagine him being stupid tall and very clumsy because of it. And very crooked bc that scoliosis hit him like a train.

Octavian would try getting closer with Frank after getting closer with Hazel for her sake. It's a chain reaction. He got closer with Nico, then with Hazel for Nico's sake, then with Frank for Hazel's sake. They have him wrapped around their finger even though he refuses to admitted. He doesn't like the thought of making his the children upset, so he just compromises whenever he can.

Similarly, because of this chain reaction, after getting closer with Annabeth, he and Percy try to get along better. Octavian even replaces the panda pillow pet to extend an olive branch.

And yes, ofc adult, 7' Octavian is still cupcake.

More. Good Octavian? Octavian is an Argo II +1? AU. I should give it a name.

I Imagine he slowly realizes the influence of Gaea he has, and starts helping the Seven. He sits tied up for a little while just doing things for the crew until they start trusting him. He carries a stuffed animal for emergency heruspexs and he uses a dagger when he needs to fight.
