It's weird that Kendall resorts to 'I'm the oldest boy' in the end, because all his life he did his best to deserve the thing/s handed to him. He studied business. He worked his whole life at waystar to build experience. And to be fair to him, when he's not trying to get at Logan he is actually good at his job. We don't actually see him mess up even once on his own. He lands the deal with lawrence yee, he fixes Logan's debt, he tries to clean up the cruises mess. As far as efficiency goes he did deserve it more than Shiv or Roman or Tom. Shiv is only good with the things she knows about - optics, internal politics etc and she messes up multiple times. Roman just goes with his instinct and succeeds on sheer luck - until he doesn't. Tom gets it not because he's good but because he's a good puppet. But Kendall has studied and worked for it - and if anyone within the family deserves it on principle it's him. I feel like even Shiv and Roman knew that to be true which is why they agreed to vote for him at first. But he goes completely out of line with I'm the eldest boy and ruins the argument for himself.

originally when I drew the first version of this idea, it was back when I thought that crassus would be a week long fixation at most (lmao), and instead he just. took up permanent residence in my mind. it seemed like a fun thing to go back to an earlier idea and see what changed now that I've spent a lot more time with everyone involved in this era!

also the way these two interlocked politically. I am. biting into it.
