To the lovely person who send a DNP message about Lover.
Hope you see this. Slight disclaimer, I also wasn’t on here in 2019 (actually checked out from TS all together when it became clear all the rainbows were leading to nothing and it got depressing) so can’t tell you how gaylor internet spaces perceived the song back then. But I’ve had my own thoughts on it since. Here's what I think:
Tumblr media
Lover is not a lovey dovey love song to me because it has definite signs of insecurity and uncertainty in it. If you compare it to the love songs on reputation, those had certainty and trust in the longevity of the relationship. 'I can take my time with you because I know how this is going to end', 'don't read the last page, but I stay', it might not all be rosey but I know that I'll be your endgame and we'll always clean up the mess together when the glitter fades so Call it what you want, because WE know what this is and where it's going.
Now, Lover expresses the exact opposite of that certainty. The word lover in itself is very generic and non-commital. It's not girlfriend, partner or wife, it's lover, which can be all or none of the above. It's just someone you love with no detail about the state or seriousness of the relationship. I saw a picture a while ago from the Lover rollout of Taylor with a lover straw that was an exact replication of the one Karlie had at her bridal shower that said 'bride'. So, very decidedly not a bride, not a wife, but a lover. (Especially in the bridge, where she uses the wedding ceremony wording 'I take this magnetic force of a man to be my....' you'd usually expect husband or wife to go there, but no, it's lover.) I think that's a choice. And in the chorus, the way she repeats the words 'You're my, my, my...' makes it seem like she's struggling to find the right word, eventually settling on lover, because she can't use any of the above labels. We can't call it what it is, and that's causing insecurity now. (Much like she can only marry this person with paper rings and not an actual wedding ring, and it's taking its toll.)
This uncertainty continues in the verses where she emphasises that they can make the rules for their home because 'it's our place', and admits how she doesn't like that 'everyone who sees you wants you' because she can't openly claim this person as her own. Because no wedding rings, no exact terminology. And the questions in the chorus (Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close?) seem sweet, but they are genuine questions filled with uncertainty. Can I actually go where you go in public or do we have to pretend in front of other people and not be as close as we actually are? It's still very much a 'forever and ever' situation, but a few years down the line it's clearly taking its toll not to call it what it is.
So, that's my two cents on why Lover (and song and the album as a whole) is not all sunshine and rainbows and has in fact quite a bit of denial about the reality of loving someone you cannot accurately label or introduce as your partner or spouse. Other people, feel free to add your interpretations!

simshaderoom In case you missed it, we have the tea from tonight's Starlight Accolades! Surprisingly #Bailey Kay had no nominations for Butterfly despite it being number one on the SimHeartRadio charts. She wasn't even in town for the ceremony, disappointing fans who were hoping she would at least make an appearance or possibly perform. The big winner of the night was #Dizzy Des who called BK one of his muses and thanked her for her hard work and contributions to his album and career! Interesting... Not everyone was celebrating though. Our fave roomie #D-Lo was so upset that he walked out of the ceremony during Dizzy's speech. He is usually a winner at these events, but left empty handed. Maybe his reign is also coming to an end? The drama! Thoughts?
d-lo 😡We were both robbed!! The disrespect! #StillWinning #InRealLife #Still #ButterflySeason #Vybez # Forever
rubberbandshan Disappointed?! Never that! BK does not care about an award. She already has plenty and has a whole star on the boulevard! She is living her best life!! You won't break her soul! Not even gonna address the desperate dumb dizziot elephant in the room.
kingb They keep playing in our Queen’s face. I can’t remember the last time she won. I’m so over the Starlight Academy! We should boycott.
anon OK I’m just gonna say it. How does she expect to win an award when she’s done nothing to promote the album? We haven’t seen a real music video or performance since Butterfly dropped. She is literally on vacation or whatever. Who does that when you just put out new music?
bkstan Who does that?!?! The Queen B! She’s THAT GIRL.
skyeisthelimit No promotion?! Did you miss the whole sold out Butterfly Box frenzy? Just say you’re salty because you couldn't get a box and move on.
c.spiracy I kinda have to agree with anon. This rollout seems a little strange. Maybe she’s not into it anymore. Do you think she was forced to put music out? They probably replaced her with a clone and that’s why things are off.
bflyhive 😑 Anyway. BK doesn't have time for a little awards show. I know she is preparing for an epic tour. Hive, you better stay ready!
notthesameanon Looks like the saying "Any press is good press" only worked out for Dizzy. Sorry, BK. I know she is pissed she ever connected with him.
dizzydes Who has the winning team now? 😉 Bad Kid Entertainment will be waiting for the Queen to come back to her real home.
rubberbandshan @simshaderoom You really have to do something about the pest problem you have in the comments. Call an exterminator expeditiously. Meanwhile we will enjoy the music BK has kindly shared with us and flourish in the fact that she is looking so happy lately! Please and thank you!

Same anon again - after I submitted that ask, one of the photographers wrote an article about how Kate “ambushed” them at the flower show and how there was zero advance notice, contrary to KP’s damage control narrative that the event was “planned”. Their fans ridiculous cope that it wasn’t pre announced because of security as if her security somehow trumps that of the actual King, who happily announced his attendance.
And then you have their behavior yesterday. Releasing an “exclusive” interview focused on Diana, erasing his father’s work on social housing on the Duchy & accompanying that with a photo of him using the children to continue the Diana legacy narrative. If Harry did the same, pitchforks would be out, but it’s been rationalized that William intentionally took steps to overshadow his fathers first TTC. Their socials did the same thing as the Coronation - not mentioning the king so it appears to be their event. But he couldn’t shut up about Mummy, the same Mummy who died because she prioritized chasing the D over her own sons…
One wonders what stunt they have for overshadowing the ceremony in Scotland. It now makes sense why they never bothered to go after they got their new titles there - it was always the intent to co-opt The King’s event and position it as their triumphant first time visit as Duke and Duchess of Rothesay and the crowds and event is actually organized for them.
(I don’t believe Cathy is pregnant - totally respect your view she is - so my assumption on the above is that she’s attending these things)
(ask from 17 June 2023)
I waited to respond on this because I wanted to see if there was anything published--such as a new single photo of William--on his birthday.
I agree with most of what you say. I don't think Charles is upset about anything related to TTC. Charles has been participating in TTC for almost fifty years, so I think it's all just another horse ride in June down the mall and back at this point.
That said, I do think the timing of the interview wasn't well thought out. I know Roya writes for The Sunday Times instead of The Times, which is why it came out on a Saturday night/Sunday. However, it would have been better if it came out this weekend. Or if they got The Times to publish it on his birthday, which would have been better. Kate's Early Years projects & the "Shaping Us" campaign have had much better coordinated rollouts than what Roya's interview demonstrated with this homelessness project so far.
Some of this is just poor form. As you said, the Duchy of Cornwall had housing initiatives under Charles for multiple years, but they get no mention. Only Diana gets a mention.

"Just got updated that there will be no formal announcement or teaser, they just gonna drop them pics and dassit"
So, would you consider multiple posts with words "we reveal Zendaya as new ambassador", bts video and Vogue interview as "formal announcement"? Weren't you telling us that LV can afford to not make a big deal about Z?
Louis Vuitton Women’s division has a plethora of Celebrity Ambassadors that they don’t make a big fuss about. An Instagram caption is a pretty casual rollout for a brand new Brand Ambassador compared to the formal ceremonies that brands usually do when they formally announce a new Brand Ambassador. Also they didn’t just announce her role with them, they released a whole entire ad campaign, the VOGUE interview is a supplemental piece in addition to the ad campaign promote their new line of Cappucines bags. Those supplemental interviews are the standard for brands, she’s also done them for Lancôme and BVLGARI for VOGUE and Vanity Fair when she joined them.

Renting a wedding limo for a summer wedding
Renting a wedding limo for a summer wedding adds an unmistakable touch of elegance and sophistication to your special day. As summer ushers in warmer weather and longer days, the season becomes a picturesque backdrop for weddings, offering vibrant sunsets and lush, natural settings. A limousine not only ensures that the bridal party arrives in style but also provides a luxurious space for relaxation and celebration before and after the ceremony. In this context, careful planning and consideration are paramount to ensure that your limousine rental enhances your wedding day perfectly.
Selecting the Right Limo Service
When choosing a limo service for your summer wedding, start by researching reputable companies with positive reviews and testimonials from previous clients. Look for services that offer a range of vehicles to accommodate your specific needs, whether you're seeking a classic stretch limo for the bride and groom or a larger vehicle like a party bus for the bridal party. It's important to book your limousine well in advance, as summer is a peak season for weddings, and demand for high-quality limo services can be high.
Customizing Your Experience
Many limo services offer customizable packages to make your wedding day even more special. These can include decorations to match your wedding theme, a red carpet rollout, champagne toasts, and even a "Just Married" sign. Discuss these options with your chosen limo service to tailor your experience. Remember to confirm the duration of your rental, as you may want the limo available for transporting guests between the ceremony and reception sites or for a grand exit at the end of the night.
Considering the Summer Season
A summer wedding means planning for the heat. Ensure the limousine is equipped with a high-quality air conditioning system to keep everyone cool and comfortable. Additionally, consider the timing of your photographs. A limousine can serve as a stunning prop for wedding photos, so you might plan these sessions either early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the summer midday heat.
Logistics and Coordination
Efficient coordination is crucial for a seamless experience. Provide the limo service with a detailed schedule of the day’s events, including pick-up and drop-off times and locations. If your wedding venue is in a remote or unusual location, discuss this with the service to ensure the driver can navigate there easily. It’s also wise to have a point of contact, such as a wedding planner or a member of the bridal party, who can communicate with the driver throughout the day to adjust schedules if needed.
Making Memories
A limousine ride on your wedding day is more than just transportation; it's an opportunity to create lasting memories. The intimate setting offers a moment of calm and privacy for the bride and groom amidst a bustling day, or a space for the bridal party to bond and celebrate. Ensure your limo service is equipped with amenities like a sound system for your favorite tunes and perhaps even lighting to set the mood.
In conclusion, renting a limo for your summer wedding is a decision that brings an added layer of luxury and convenience to your celebration. By selecting the right service, customizing your package, and considering the specifics of a summer event, you can ensure that your limousine experience is as flawless and memorable as the rest of your wedding day.

Millions of global travellers voted AirAsia as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the 14th consecutive time at Skytrax
PARIS, 21 June 2023 - AirAsia has been voted the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2023 (Skytrax) for an unprecedented 14th consecutive time.
Tumblr media
As a global benchmark of airline quality and excellence, the final award results include more than 325 airlines with AirAsia emerging on top in its category. Over 100 nationalities of travellers participated in the online survey, with 20.23 million eligible entries counted in the results from September 2022 to May 2023, a period when AirAsia had steadily increased its network back to over 130 destinations.
This exceptional recognition comes as a resounding testament to the airline's recovery and robust growth in  its routes and passengers carried, alongside an unwavering commitment to innovation and providing exceptional service despite the challenges brought about by the global pandemic. As a result, AirAsia once again remains the top low-cost airline for travellers seeking the best for value and choice.
In accepting the award at a ceremony at the Paris Air Show 2023 in France on Tuesday, Capital A CEO, Tony Fernandes said: “We are immensely proud and grateful for this meaningful award given to us by the Skytrax organisers, voters, and the incredible supporters of AirAsia. Getting an award of excellence for 14 consecutive years is a remarkable achievement, one that fills our hearts with joy and humility. This is an extraordinary feat for any company in any industry, even more so for our proudly Asean brand.”
Tumblr media
Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax said: “AirAsia is a survey passenger favourite and have delivered a remarkable degree of consistency year-on-year since the World's Best Low-Cost Airline category was introduced to the awards programme in 2010. The recognition from customers should be a great source of pride for the airline management and staff in what has been a difficult period as travel returns after the Covid pandemic.”
With 170 planes already back in service across the Group, AirAsia expects to have all 204 reactivated by the end of August this year. Not only will it achieve 100% of pre-pandemic capacity in the coming months, the airline is also looking to spread its wings even further with the addition of 19 new planes which will take flight this year, including four Frontier planes.
AirAsia has also recommenced its longer-term aircraft orders to bring its fleet to the biggest yet to have 362 planes, the first of which will be delivered in 2024. The airline is also looking forward to its cargo and logistics business Teleport to receive the first of the three dedicated A321Fs freighters in July, to boost volume and speed for cross-border deliveries in the region.
AirAsia also reaffirms its commitment to excel in customer experience with numerous AI enhancements for its chatbot AskBo alongside the continued rollout of its own biometric facial recognition technology - FACES - on its core domestic routes, which will make flying and connecting with the airline more efficient and seamless than ever before.
Tony added: “People will always be the airline’s biggest asset and we are thrilled to confirm that all of our 22,000 Allstars who tirelessly strive to provide the best service and experience to millions of our guests, both on the ground and in the air are now back. This award is dedicated to Allstars and all 800 million guests and counting who have voted for AirAsia time and time again, for being a part of its incredible journey.”
