I know this has a bit of a somber tone to it, given the fact that the future was far from kind to Seth, but that wasn't my intend. I much rather just wanted a small scene where Roland and Seth were friends with a long past together, which I dare to say we are as well at this point, online or not xD

i found the link (which i then input into archive.org) using the website "quiteaplaylist" which incredibly actually works, you can try using it on various playlists to figure out what videos exactly were taken down and if they might have been archived

i do know about it! ugh sure having a moment rewatching all these different performances like hand to forehead jeez louise anyone heard of This Talent, do we know about this (yes) and that helen performance is fantastic augh....meanwhile i could've sworn that unlisted youtube videos could still be viewed via going to someone's videos tab on their profile there was at least some setting that did that?? but it sure seems like either i was wrong or that's changed. really handy workaround here, that's an interesting tool for e.g. when one's own Watch Later playlist has n videos hidden like damn what was i Going to watch (although in that case they might be taken down entirely b/c of copyright claims or whatever) and i'm not that great at archive.org navigation, searching, saving, retrieving things, but hell yeah to your archival success here already. (i also have it saved to my laptop lol shoutout to years ago shoving all these performance videos in my gay little pockets, so now later i can go "hey wait. lower res but Here" when they aren't on youtube for whatever reasons)

Double Date From Hell

"They should be here in about a minute," Seth announced, tucking his phone away after checking the latest texted status update from Rhys on their location between Krovs Castle and Cannabites. This was a good idea, or so he tried to continue convincing himself. What could honestly go wrong using promised sex afterwards getting Shade to apologize to Rhys with Roland the narc present? Everything would be fine, he continued to convince himself as he nursed a half-empty vodka soda that was probably more vodka than soda. He leaned against the doorframe between the kitchen and the restaurant, watching Shade work his magic in the kitchen. This was another bad idea in itself that would make his part of their little deal much easier later in the evening. Shade cooking always got Seth's mouth watering and knees weak, dude seemed to know that too. Really made it fucking hard to stay away from the physical aspect Shade wanted after their relationship –– or whatever the cambion apparently decided they were or weren't –– when Seth couldn't move on from the emotional side. "Sure I can't help you with anything?" he asked.

“You really don’t have to be suspicious of his intentions.” Despite attempts to remain reassuring, Rhys winced at the hint of exhaustion in his tone. Inviting Seth for a talk had been a risky decision given Roland’s incredibly recent departure from his office only half an hour prior. He scanned his gaze over his desk as subtly as he could as he carried Seth’s tea over to ensure that nothing looked noticeably out of place and held the younger witch’s gaze as he came to a halt before him. “Roland’s just being… friendly. That’s all.” He’d heard from Roland that Seth hadn’t been the most trusting during their first exchange together and knew immediately that he’d have to be the one to try and smooth over any of Seth’s doubts. In a sense, it was touching to know that the younger witch was as determined as he was to ensure that nothing nefarious was occurring behind the scenes, but it was important to Rhys to at least establish some kind of civil bond between the two of them if things with Roland were going to continue to be as frequent as they were. It’d been a surprise to find that Belgium’s councilman wished to spend more time together following their spontaneous night together. At the time, Rhys had been grateful to have a distraction from the stress of the trials and constant uncertainty. To now find that such a decision had led to forming a bond of sorts was as dizzying to Rhys as it was oddly… comforting. “I wasn’t born yesterday, Seth. I know placing blind faith in others around here isn’t a wise decision, but trust me, he’s not what you seem to think he is.” Pausing for a second to let his words linger in the space between them, Rhys gave as encouraging a smile as he could manage. “I appreciate you looking out for me but I’m more than grown enough to be able to pass judgement on my own. I don’t need you scaring off any of the council on my behalf.”

The Raven King - Chapter Nine

Day: Saturday, October 28th Time: 12:33 AM EST

Andrew pushed his tray across the counter for Roland to retrieve when he had a minute and slanted a look at Neil. "Stop hiding. This was your idea; deal with the consequences." "It's not that easy," Neil said. Explaining his discomfort wasn't any easier. Andrew had promised to watch Neil's back until May, but when he made that deal he said Neil's growing reputation could keep him safe the rest of his Fox career. Andrew assumed Neil could graduate from Palmetto as long as Neil played his cards right with Kevin. Neil hadn't yet told him plans had changed, which made it harder to say why tonight was making him unhappy. Finally he fell back on the half-truth he'd given Andrew that summer. "I've never been in a position where I could get to know people. I know I have to let them in if we're going to make it through the season, but it'd be easier if they were just names and faces. How have you stayed so disconnected for so long?" "They're not interesting enough to keep my attention." "Kevin is. So is your brother, apparently." Neil wasn't surprised when Andrew didn't acknowledge either accusation. He pressed on. "What about Renee?" "What about her?" "She's not interesting?" "She's useful." "That's it?" "You expected a different answer?" "Maybe," Neil said, and hesitated when Roland finally showed up. Roland stayed only long enough to get their tray before leaving again. Neil looked back at Andrew and wondered at the cool smile on Andrew's face. He was being mocked, but he wasn't quite sure why yet. "Most everyone is waiting for something to happen with you two. Even Nicky thinks it's inevitable. But Renee promised Allison nothing would come of it. Allison said as much to Seth. Why?" "Does it matter?" Neil gave an uncomfortable shrug. "Yes? No? It should be—it is— irrelevant, but..." He hesitated, but Andrew said nothing, unwilling to make this easy on him. Neil shouldn't be surprised by Andrew's attitude, but he was annoyed regardless. "I'm just trying to understand." "Sometimes you're interesting enough to keep around. Other times you're so astoundingly stupid I can barely stand the sight of you." Neil scowled at him. "Forget it. I'll ask Renee." "You'll have to stop avoiding her first."

Roland had half expected Rhys to push him away, or indulge in the hug for only a moment. Surprisingly, Rhys' arms were tight around him and Roland tightened his own hold in response. Clearly Rhys needed this, whatever he might be feeling about Roland right now, and it was obvious in the way he clung to him. Roland cradled Rhys to him and tried to soothe him with his closeness as much as he could, stroking his hair gently. He ached to think he'd been adding to Rhys' suffering but at least he was here now to make amends for it even if it would still take time yet. This was at least a bit of a hopeful start.

Rhys explained what was troubling him and Roland listened closely, making small soothing sounds as Rhys got more upset. He rubbed his back and stroked his hair, distressed for him. While his own feelings about Seth were less than charitable, he knew how much the witch meant to Rhys and didn't like to see him suffer. "I'm so sorry, cheri." He spoke quietly, his tone consoling, trying to think of something else he could do. He wasn't well versed in magic and it wasn't like he had any connections in Hell he could pull strings with, though that now seemed like quite an oversight on his part. Seth truly seemed doomed and it was a shame, if only because of how it would affect Rhys. "I wish there was something I could do. I would save you the pain of his loss if I could." It wasn't as though Seth would likely accept any help from him anyway, considering how their last meeting had gone, but still.

Even if it felt anything but all right, Roland’s reassurance was welcomed. Needed. Amidst the chaos of it all, he’d take whatever he could get, even if it meant giving in to Roland much sooner than he’d anticipated, at least for now. He didn’t have the emotional strength to be picky. Wrapping his arms tightly around Roland, Rhys clung to him as if he were the only thing keeping him tethered to reality; the only sure constant remaining in his life alongside Mateo, but he’d troubled the thunderbird enough as of late. For now, at least, Roland was more than capable of picking up where Mateo had left off. “It’s not good, Ro,” he mumbled defeatedly, no longer concerned with trying to keep up any type of professional image. “It didn’t work. The, uh… the ritual? The one I would��ve helped with if he hadn’t knocked me out for the duration of it? Seth thought he’d succeeded. I thought I’d tied up the last of the loose ends for him. Thought everything was fine.” Rhys paused to heave a heavy sigh and nestled closer to hide his face in the crook of Roland’s neck, seeking solace and comfort in the familiarity of the gesture. “Turns out the terms of Seth’s agreement still stand. He’s got no choice but to uphold his end of the deal. There’s nothing either of us can do to intervene, not significantly enough to prevent it.” Given how poorly Seth and Roland’s last interaction had gone – not that any part of that evening had gone particularly well – Rhys didn’t expect much in the way of a response but for now, that wasn’t an issue. The fact that he was willing to offer his company after withholding it for as long as he had was more than enough.

I really hate being in the Hellaverse Fandom sometimes

it’s basically just finding new ways to hate on the show and finding new ways to cancel Vivsepop. it’s exhausting when every fandom interaction is basically walking into a room of horse manure on a 104 degree fahrenheit humid day with a blazing sun at noon.

“oh noooooo everything is red and everyone wears bows and suits” damn how dare a show have a mostly monochromatic color pallete and have characters wear similar attire that was popular across the many time periods they lived in. god forbid the person who created the show make it the way she envisioned it to be (also not to be that guy but i counted 39 characters from the helleverse and only 11 actually had bows on their designs, 8 of which being hazbin hotel characters and 3 being helluva boss characters. do with that info what you will)

“She thinks cursing is good humor!” Viv as been open about the fact that the humor in the show is inspired by seth roland (can’t spell) and Brandon Rogers also does a lot of the jokes on the show, but all talk can focus on is viv and god forbid she try the same humor others have

“oh nooooo, female characters are badly written” are they badly written or are they side characters? are they badly written or is the show you’re watching confirmed to be focusing more on male characters than female characters? hell, hazbin hotel is a female centered show and people tend to focus more on the guys than the gals. idk about yall but i find a lot of the female characters to be written quite well for the time they have in the show i.e verosika mayday, sallie mae, vaggie, carmilla carmine, charlie, lute, velvette, etc.

“vivsepop is racist!” shss literally a woman of color, works with multiple POC, and has multiple characters of color including but not limited to: vaggie, alastor (white passing probably for plot reasons), carmilla and her daughters, velvette, sera, emily, barbie wire, coco, tex, verosika mayday, etc.

“oh noooo vivsepop hired someone with a problematic kink!” last i checked, you can’t fire people for having a kink. Viv is not responsible for what her employees are into. it would be a lot more concerning if her interview process came with questions asking in detail what future employees are sexually into.

“Oh noooo a victim of SA and abuse sings about his abuse” god forbid a character sing about their struggles in a musical. plus it’s straight up said in the song that the character is dissociating and thinking about the life they wish he could’ve had. i’ve seen people listen to entire musicals about guys lying about how they were besties with a suicide victim to get close to his sister and i personally listened to a musical about dead kids fighting for a chance to come back to life after a gruesome roller coaster accident. One song that can be skipped isn’t that bad, i promise. as an SA victim, it’s actually pretty good and accurate to the experience without fetishizing or glorifying it. Also, y’all were perfectly fine with Addict when it came out despite it having similar themes in its music video.

“Sallie mae is a transphobic character!” the trans woman… voiced by a trans woman… written by a trans woman in a short dedicated to the character… a trans woman who was also consulted for the merch designs to make sure that the pinup and bathing suit designs didn’t fall into transphobia or fetish territory (btw no adult character is safe from the pinup or beach outfits, stop with the trans fetish accusations)

there’s so much more but i’m sleepy rn and don’t feel like typing every grievance this fandom has against the show despite actively watching and interacting with it. goddamn just leave this show and the people involved with it alone. how about instead of finding new ways to make this fandom even more of a cesspool, yall find ways to make it actually fun and safe and nontoxic again? wouldn’t that be nice???

also.. tbh i think i'm gonna go back to actually drawing their birthday ssrs. because finding a picrew that fits all of my characters is way too hard, some most of them don't have things like different skin colors, freckles, moles, etc or simply don't have their energy (for example, maybe i want my oc to look more mature, but that picrew has a more cutesy art style). so yeah, more lina art!!

roland: you're right, rsa students actually like you a lot.

roland: u-um, i wouldn't say that we're friends.. but neige-kun is one of those rsa students who are very nice to me..

roland: i have no idea why he's so nice to me though. maybe it's because we're from the same dorm.

seth: or maybe it's because neige-chan is just that type of guy. he's nice to literally everyone, i can imagine him wanting to become friends even with a mass murderer or an arsonist.

seth: anyway, i think we should get started with your interview already.

roland: oh, you're right, sorry.

roland: i just noticed the microphone you have with you.

roland: no, i was in my problematic era when i just started attending nrc.

roland: so.. i don't really have a "fun story", but i will tell you this. i loved to cause trouble back then. i was that kid who loved to prank everyone, even the old people.

roland: even the nice old people.

seth: oh no.

roland: my parents didn't really try to stop me, they actually kind of.. encouraged it.

roland: oh, i don't mean it in a "you go son, go and prank that poor old woman!" way, i mean it.. it's like they just pretended not to see it. they spoiled me a lot too, so i never got punished for my actions.

roland: maybe if they were more strict with me, i would become a better person..

seth: hey, don't think about it like that, okay? it just means that they loved you a lot.

roland: haha, maybe you're right.

roland: .. or maybe it just means that they were too scared to stop me.

roland: most of my plants end up dying very quickly and i have no idea why.

roland: i prefer to celebrate other people's birthdays than mine, though. but it wasn't always like that, i was a very selfish kid in the past, haha.

roland: now i just.. don't really like being the center of attention, i guess.

seth: aww, are you shy?

roland: maybe. but it's more like.. i feel like i just don't deserve it.

roland: but.. i didn't really tell you anything interesting about myself.

roland: i just kept saying stuff like "oh, i'm uncomfortable with this topic" or "i don't want to talk about it".

seth: and if i found you boring, i would tell you that a long time ago, trust me.

seth: also, we can just say that being mysterious is a part of your charm.

roland: c-charm?..

"Hm. I see," Seth mused, narrowing his eyes slightly at Nahim for a moment. He already had an issue with Roland doing something similar with his boss, mentor, and father figure and now another councilman made it his business to come in here and bother Rhys as well? For what purpose? Although the mention of the other councilman in question had the tribrid's features softening just a touch. He scoffed out of habit and rolled his eyes. "No, thank fucking god for that," he said unashamed of his honest reaction whenever it came to Roland. "He really does hover around here relentlessly and it's obnoxious as shit. But... wait." He turned back on Nahim, brows raised. "Why are you asking?"

seth’s assessment was anything but subtle. not that it bothered nahim, not necessarily. he’d crossed paths numerous times with those inherently suspicious of those with his sort of standing. marcellino had accumulated a dedicated array of dissidents throughout his time; most of which nahim had been sent to ‘deal with’ to silence any opposition once and for all. now that nahim had inherited the position for himself, he could understand why not all were pleased about the perpetuation of the council’s dictatorship. covering his mouth as he laughed out of sheer habit, nahim shifted his gaze from the other to the door of rhys’ office and gave a curt nod, his attention returning to seth as he returned the smile and clasped his hands behind his back for comfort’s sake. “uh huh. taking up a few hours of his precious time as requested. it’s good for him, i think. even if these sessions were supposedly designed for my betterment, he’s been opening up more and more. who would’ve guessed that it’d be a mutually beneficial arrangement?” glancing over his shoulder to listen out, nahim contemplated his options before turning back to face seth properly, his head cocking curiously to one side as he studied the other. “you haven’t seen roland around, have you? i know he tends to hover around rhys rather… relentlessly.”
