For a while now I've been working on a piece for a Wintersday-themed Guild Wars 2 fanzine and today I can finally show you a small preview featuring Aurene. The fanzine features both illustrations and short stories that circle around the annual holiday, with work from 71 contributors, and all of the net proceeds of the zine will be going to MSF/Doctors Without Borders. I've drawn a lot of other people's characters from GW2 and I figured that it was time to draw one of mine as well. This is my Reaper, or at least how she used to look before I changed her armor and hairstyle. Speaking of the hairstyle, she doesn't have hair this long ingame, but I took some artistic liberties with it as you can see and drew her hair the way I wish it would be. Anyway, I really like how this turned out and I hope you will like it as well. ^.^

This image is an in game recreation of the moment before Dural proposed to Nameless. The two sat atop a mountain eating subs beneath what seems to be a tower from World vs World. However, that particular tower does exist on top of what was formally known as Harney's Peak in South Dakota. They of course found it fitting to claim it for the WvW guild they founded together as a tribute of how they met.

This is for Cernoch, one of my guildies from Guild Wars 2. The character's name is Kuchi Fluffy Tail, a Guardian Charr he often uses in WvW. He's usually the last one standing, so this painting is not that far from the truth. ^.^

Hopper is an albino rabbit from a novel called Hauntborg written by Detonatress. Go check it out if you like a mix of horror and comedy. ^^

It's been a while since I've posted anything, but anyway, this was a birthday gift I made for a friend. It's actually the same character (Kuchi Fluffy Tail) as in this painting: The Essence of Friendship. I must say, I had a lot of fun drawing this. ^^

Contributor Spotlight #18: Roksiel

Today, we’re delighted to introduce our 18th contributor spotlight, featuring another one of our artists: @roksiel​. This Romanian artist has been producing fan works for @GuildWars2 since starting the game over two years ago, even having been featured in one of the official community showcases.

With a favorite god of Grenth, it’s no surprise that their favorite class is the necromancer, and that their favorite NPC is the dry-humored Canach. Their favorite maps were the ones in LS3 (Ember Bay, specifically), so we hope the new ones in LS4 (out yesterday) also are to their liking!

They’ve been great to work with for the zine, and the mod team has really enjoyed their attention to detail & beautiful compositions.

Now that applications have officially opened, we welcome you to say hello to our (alphabetized) lists of our invited contributors! We had a lot of initial support and it’s been a wonderful experience to connect with so many new parts of the community. 

It’s funny that the creative staff of POW started with this zine with the scared thought of whether we could hit 24 pages of interested people, and now we’re hitting 100 pages with a huge appreciation for the talent that exists here. We’re floored and thrilled and so grateful to be working with all of you.
