Eric’s TBD RPG  | Doctor Who
Stay whimsical.
A wonderful little tabletop RPG series from 2017 that I happily recommend, especially to any fans of Doctor Who, though I’ve also seen some folks say they had no knowledge of the series but enjoyed the campaign anyway.
It’s officially available to subscribers of Geek & Sundry’s Twitch channel. But you can just watch the full thing on Youtube HERE.
(Note: For the crossover with the group’s later Star Trek campaign, only the very end of episode 40 has any Doctor Who campaign characters. Episode 41 is the main crossover episode.)
Cast:
GM - ERIC CAMPBELL
The Doctor - AMY DALLEN
Cillian Rail - DUNCAN BARCLAY
Veleg - DARIN DE PAUL
Finn Alexander - GINA DEVIVO
Rokokokoko - SAM DE LEVE
“The Prisoner”/“Lisa" - JODY HOUSER
Meatstick - MATTHEW  MERCER
Chronotis - TALIESIN JAFFE
Jack Harkness - DYLAN DOVALE
Also featuring:
Bargle Bill (Ooh'loo'h) - MICHAEL ROBERT HOLMES
“Piggy” (Human, 18th Century) - ERIKA ISHII
Davros - JASON CHARLES MILLER
“The Rogue” (Time Lord) - ALIZA PEARL
(As I wasn’t able to include everybody in the gifset, characters were selected by who appeared in the highest amount of episodes with the most screen time.)
I’ll be making more Eric’s TBD RPG related posts in the future, and anything spoiler-y will be posted under the tag “Eric’s TBD RPG SPOILERS”.

Welcome to my
Ovokali Headcanons
Unlike purely reptilian species, they don't let eggs. Rather, they create large seeds (much larger than a normal plant, and as such create fewer of them than plants) and plant them for the gestation period, at which point their young saplings emerge to begin raising.
The creation and fertilization of seeds is capable by any partner (as they do not have a concept of gender) and is a, while intimate act, never sexual
Before the Judoon conquest of Ovokali, their naming conventions tended to be plant names in the Ovokali language. This can still be seen post conquest, but is much less common as names tended to be in the Judoon language and the Judoon have no such variety in plant vocabulary
The Ovokali were a rather peaceful species of agricultural tenders and traders. They weren't much for travel themselves (though they certainly had the knowledge to do so, as their academic fields were also quite vibrant; they simply preferred their warm, life filled planet to the cold reaches of space), though they did have many space ports that acted as trade outposts
Akin to Star Trek's Betazoids, they were often brutally honest - at least amongst themselves - due to their psychic nature and their common unquenchable curiosity

Eric’s TBD RPG - The Doctor Who Adventures: Episode 18 clip
So, in this live play RPG (with some awesome actors) there is a romance between a nonbinary alien empath (Roko for short) and a sweet badass human pirate lady called Captain Finn, (with a cybernetic arm) from the past.
Also, the nonbinary alien, Rokokoko is played by Sam De Leve, who is disabled and nonbinary.
Yes, this is as epic as it sounds.
Spoilers for the show below and in the vid.
Just before this scene, Roko feels threatened while in someone else’s mind (sci fi yo) and creates a projection of Finn to protect themself. This leads to awkward moments when everyone is psychically connected and can feel each other's emotions.
If anyone wants to watch this show which has Amy Dallen as a female regeneration of The Doctor (who is still romantically entangled with River Song), and guest appearances from Matt Mercer and Taliesin Jaffe it wrapped up recently. Captain Jack and other fan favorites are played as well.
The whole series can be seen on VOD on Geek and Sundry’s twitch or on project alpha. One ep is on youtube here.

Note
Roko was clearly in the midst of telling Ito a very interesting story when he saw his mother, “Mamamama!” the little tod exclaimed excitedly.
"Rokokokoko~" Ginko sang back moving to nuzzle him. "Did you have a nice little rest?"

No one cares about my Eric's TBD RPG content, but no one cares about any of my content, so I'm gonna keep posting it.
So, anyways, do you think Roko went to Uvoruvoto before proposing (because Roko proposed, fight me)? Because, while Roko has spent the most time around humans, they never really learned about that aspect of human life. And Cillian wouldn't be able to tell them shit. He doesn't know.
Uvo, on the other hand, studied humans for who knows how long! They would likely have some knowledge on that aspect of human culture. And so Uvo and Roko would hide away and plan the perfect engagement and it would be adorable.
And it would mean nothing to Finn, the 18th century pirate. But she would be honored by the effort they put in and would adore it. Plus, shiny gem. Always a nice gift for a pirate.

No one asked for this, but my dumb little a-spec brain is remaining focused on Finnkoko to avoid all my real life stresses, so take some headcanons for a ship from my favorite dead fandom:
They have so many plants. All of them are named and cherished like children.
Finn tries to teach Roko pirate slang on a regular basis. Roko butchers every single one of them, but the wrong uses are so much better to Finn because it means they're trying.
They always make sure to have time for the TARDIS crew's regular family dinners.
Their marriage was a beautiful mix of Ovakoli marriage rituals and Finn's (most likely) Irish Catholic heritage, obviously with a bit of sea faring tradition thrown in as well. The Corsair officiated and no one knows where she got the certification to do so.
They each get a tattoo: Finn gets a little flower (the little white one Roko grew in the space whale in front of the TARDIS, I can't remember the name of it for the life of me) on her flesh bicep and Roko gets an anchor on the inside of their wrist.
Their room has a funky projector that throws earth constellations onto the ceiling and Finn (who knows them all by name for navigation purposes) teaches Roko about them all late at night.
They go back and see Tall Jim every now and again and go on double dates with him and his husband (because that man is Bi and you can't convince me otherwise).

A little thought that's been on my mind:
Roko doesn't like guns. That's an established fact. And while I assume this has to do with their telepathic and empathic abilities, I would also argue that it has as much to do with their and their planet's history with guns. After all, not only was their planet colonized by the Judoon (who are canonically a "shoot first, ask questions later" sort of people), but their people were also decimated by the Time Lords. That's not even bringing into account their own arrest. Roko has every reason to not like guns.
But that just makes their relationship with Finn, even at the beginning, even sweeter. Because Finn is not shy with her gun. And yet Roko still trusts her implicitly. They trust her not to hurt them. And it is so beautiful.

Roko from Eric’s TBD RPG, Doctor Who RPG, as played by Sam de Leve. I’m still not sure how to spell their name- Rokokoko? Rocococo? Some mixture of k’s and c’s? I may never know.
