Rainbow Dickerson, Joel Oulette, and Rohain Arora join the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender in mystery roles!
After quite a drought, I have new live-action castings for you today, starting with three actors confirmed for the show in currently unknown roles, meaning we don’t know what characters they’ll be playing yet.
As usual, just because I’m posting this now doesn’t mean they were just hired-- the show is already done filming, so all of them already finished filming their roles.
They are:
➡️ Rainbow Dickerson, a Thai and Indigenous Rappahannock actor best known for the film Beans (2020), where she actually played Kiawentiio (Katara)’s mom!

We don’t know what character she’s playing in ATLA, but we do know that she appears in episodes 3 and 5.
(Source: Knight Edge Media (shout out!) and I can confirm.)
➡️ Joel Oulette, a 20-year-old Indigenous Cree & Métis actor best known for starring in CBC’s Trickster. He was spotted filming ATLA late in production (which is the source for his casting), likely appearing in episodes 7 and/or 8, the Northern Water Tribe arc.
➡️ Rohain Arora, a 29-year-old Indian Canadian actor best known for his recurring role in DC’s Superman & Lois. He filmed at some point in the middle of the show but we don’t know exactly when. We do know that characters from two locations were cast with South Asian actors: Omashu and the Northern Air Temple, so it’s possible he was in one of those parts of the story. (Source: Avatar News)
A previous version of this post incorrectly said Marika Sila had been cast. A source said that she was in ATLA, I congratulated her on being cast in “the show”, and she said thanks. It turns out I thought we were talking about ATLA and she thought we were talking about The Amazing Race Canada, which is what she was actually filming, because I never said the name of the show. We had previously talked about ATLA so I was continuing in that vein, but it was my fault for not re-clarifying. I have already apologized to her privately, sorry to everyone else for the misinformation and miscommunication as well! Glad we could get this corrected quickly. As far as I know, this is the first time I’ve posted wrong info, and hopefully it’s the last time. I won’t use the source that was wrong again (don’t worry, no other posts have been based only on this source) and I’ll be more diligent in the future so that my standards are kept high. Thank you!
