La suerte y la fortuna le están tocando la puerta… “El Príncipe Del Barrio 2”

En esta nueva temporada, Albertano seguirá compartiendo momentos de risa y amor con sus entrañables vecinos de ‘Lomas de Chacaltepec’. Pero no todo será felicidad, también tendrán que enfrentar encrucijadas y desatinos que pondrán a todos de cabeza.

Ahora la relación de Albertano y Polly, ya llegó a otro nivel. Por diversas circunstancias, Albertano tendrá que vivir en la casa de Polly, incomodando a Yesenia, la suegra que tanto lo detesta.

Será en el marco de esa nueva convivencia, donde se presentarán diversas situaciones con las que Albertano tendrá que lidiar: la visita de una cuñada incómoda, una fiesta de XV años, una persecución policiaca y hasta un mal de ojo que le pega donde más le duele; en su larga y sedosa cabellera.

Rodrigo Salazar - NES 1

.

22 years old, cis male, he/him pronouns. Has only ever been attracted to women, but he’s very open minded, so he doesn’t reject the idea of change in the future.

Comes from a very non-judgmental family where healthy conversations and personal privacy are the norm, so, although capable of independency, he very much prefers living with his loved ones. He thrives in company and puts effort in making his living space enjoyable. This has turned him into a peaceful person, mindful of others’ needs as well as his and confident in his opinions; again, open minded to changes.

He’s not opposed to having fun every once in a while, but it’s hard for him to fall in love. This is not due to him being picky with his lovers, which he isn’t, but rather him not being able to truly connect. However, he’s always very generous and thoughtful, putting his girlfriends first without losing himself in the process. He’s also protective, but not jealous, and respectful.

Magda Caballero - NES 2

25 years old, cis female, she/her pronouns. Has only ever been attracted to women and knows, and hopes, that that won’t ever change.

Her mother had her when she was sixteen and was immediately kicked out by her parents, so she stayed with her boyfriend and his parents. Both quickly starting treating Magda like a younger sibling, leaving her instead to her grandparents’ care, barely engaging with her even with no hard feelings between them. They didn’t try to deepen their relationship with her until she was old enough to go to college.

It’s hard to earn her trust and she often hides behind sarcasm and light insults because she’s been left behind since she was a child, so she’s very possessive of what or who she truly likes. She only hangs out with the few friends she has to go partying, however. Some of them are friends with benefit, since she enjoys the fun within, but commitment is something she’s afraid of and not ready for.

Sebas Caro - NES 3

21 years old, FTM, he/him pronouns. Hasn’t really feel any type of attraction towards strangers before and is very hard for him to make friends, so he doesn’t have much experience in that department.

His parents are loners who don’t enjoy engaging in social life, unconsciously teaching him that lifestyle and leading him to a lack of knowledge in how to properly talk to strangers, hiding behind his shyness and awkwardness and, therefore, an inability to make friends. However, at the same time, his parents expect him to be out of the house so they can have privacy.

This has turned him into a quiet people pleaser that quickly grows too attached when someone shows their affection. He becomes devoted, but not obsessive, and gives too much of himself.

Vasco Núñez de Balboa

Vasco Núñez de Balboa (1475-1519) was a Spanish conquistador who famously discovered the Pacific Ocean after crossing the isthmus of Panama in 1513. An utterly ruthless adventurer and colonizer, Balboa was as much a danger to his fellow conquistadors as he was to the indigenous peoples he came across.

Balboa helped establish the town of Darién, the first permanent Spanish settlement on the American mainland. Extracting gold from Panama and instituting slavery and forced labour to work on plantations, Balboa was ultimately outwitted by a Spanish rival who had him tried and executed for treason.

Early Life

Vasco Núñez de Balboa was born in Extramadura in Spain in the small village of Jerez de los Caballeros in the province of Badajoz. His family belonged to the minor nobility. In 1500-1, Balboa joined the expedition of Rodrigo de Bastidas (1460-1526), which hoped to find pearls along the northern coast of South America (present-day Colombia), then a virtually unknown region to the Europeans. The expedition was a success in charting new coastlines but did not find many of the hoped-for pearls. Balboa next settled on Hispaniola (modern Haiti/Dominican Republic), where he owned a plantation, but his business sense was poor, and he was obliged to abandon the island after he racked up huge debts.

It is the end of Winter, at the beginning of February 1067, when Captain Rodrigo/ El Cid builds his first Camp Building besides the Pavilion - the Proving Grounds. It will be ready in 5 months.

Currently, El Cid is in Zamora planning a complex Contract Scheme for the benefit of Infanta Urraca Fernandez of Castille, the sister of King Sancho "the Strong" of Castille, King Alphonso "the Brave" of Leon and King Garcia II of Galicia. The scheme is to Rescue a Fair Subject of hers, and we employ 2 Muscles, an Outcast, a Thug and a Lookout. We need to accumulate 5 Advantages to Execute the Scheme, and we have a potential success rate of up to 84% if we plan this right.

We come across one of the first events that tests El Cid's loyalty to King Sancho II "the Strong" of Castille. Here, El Cid is trying to find shelter from the rain, but no Zamora folk dares to open their homes and extend their hospitality to El Cid because of an order by King Sancho forbidding them. El Cid decides not to press the people and rely on his stash of provisions instead.

El Cid manages to successfully rescue the Fair Subject, and the Fair Subject in question turns out to be a Beautiful woman named Guiomar whom El Cid invites to join his camp The Loyal Vassals.

With Infanta Urraca added to The Loyal Vassals' Roll of Patrons, El Cid proceeds to request 1 Men-at-Arms Regiment from her which turns out to be a regiment of 100 Caballeros, bringing El Cid's total military might to 300 Caballeros.

It is July 1067, and El Cid finally decides that it is time to follow the exile order from King Sancho and move to al-Magrit (Madrid). Unlike being a ruler, there is far more danger traveling as a Landless Adventurer and little ways to combat them. Not to mention, it costs a lot of Provisions to move Camp - 599 to be exact.

As El Cid's party travels, his Bodyguard Vela and the Beautiful Guiomar hit it off, becoming lovebirds. Unfortunately, this developing relationship is cut short, when on a treacherous mountain path, Guiomar falls to her death. El Cid was intending to marry Guiomar off to his nephew Pedro, but seems that plan got shafted by this new development.

It is Septemeber 1067, and The Loyal Vassals' Camp has arrived in Madrid with the Proving Grounds built.

At the Madrid tavern, El Cid comes across an enchantress - a Mozarabic Castilian woman by the name of Catalina. He flirts with her and convinces her to join The Loyal Vassals. She could be a good replacement wife for Pedro despite her age.

Wali Abd al-Rahman II ibn al-Zafir of al-Magrit requests El Cid's aid to patrol the bridge going through al-Magrit (Madrid) to dissuade bandits from appearing. El Cid take up the contract.

Soon, we are met with the dissertation of 3 of El Cid's followers - Pedro, his nephew, his friend Martin Antolinez, and Vela the Bodyguard. El Cid's Second and Best Friend, Alvar Fanez offers to pay and provide for the 3 men, but El Cid refuses because he cannot risk King Sancho's wrath.

Count Jourdain of Quercy, a vassal of Duke Guilhem V of Toulouse, is involved in a tyranny war against his liege, and offers to pay 30 gold to El Cid to come and assist him. El Cid raises his army of 300 and leads from the front as the Commander with 47 Advantage.

Finally, after months of planning, El Cid sneaks into King Sancho's castle and witnesses a shady intruder who tries to kill his Ximena and immediately takes action to subdue the intruder. Ximena in gratitude falls in love and becomes El Cid's Soulmate.

Don Quijote de la mancha, pero el Don y Sancho son mujeres sáficas.

Doña Quijote (Aldara Quijano), fue salvada del ataque de una culebra cuando niña por un caballero que se hacía llamar Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar (El Cid), dicho evento desencadenaría que ella se empezara a interesar y, consecutivamente, obsesionar con las historias y cuentos de caballeros (¿Hiperfijación?).

Mucho tiempo después, una Aldara cincuentona tras un accidente con una estantería, tendría un choque de realidad en dónde se daría cuenta que ha estado desperdiciando su vida con inútil trabajo y que desde que es una adulta no podido disfrutar el vivir adecuadamente, por lo que, decidida y con la percepción de la realidad alterada, toma una armadura, una espada, un escudo y una lanza, se monta sobre su fiel corcel, toma de escudera a una de sus sirvientas (Sancha Panza) y parte a la aventura.

Con el tiempo, la delirante doña y su precavida y temerosa escudera terminarían encontrando el mayor tesoro que un caballero podría tener: Un antiguo tesoro que las volvería asquerosamente ricas.

Ah, sí, y al final se casan.

El lienzo, atribuido tradicionalmente a Juan Bautista Martínez del Mazo (1611-1664), participó como tal en exposiciones en Madrid, Bruselas (1971) y Londres (1976). Es evidente que la composición recuerda la de los retratos velazqueños, pero con un punto de arcaísmo en la posición de las piernas abiertas en compás, como en los retratos de finales del siglo XVI. Sin embargo, el tratamiento de la mano derecha, de dedos finos y nerviosos, hace pensar en una fecha más cercana a 1650. Se ha apuntado la posibilidad de que fuese obra de Bartolomé González (1564-1627), Rodrigo de Villandrando (1588-1622) o Felipe Diricksen (1590-1679), aunque los dos primeros, por la fecha, quedarían descartados. Todavía sin atribuir, se trata de un retrato de excelente calidad, que en la actualidad se identifica como anónimo madrileño.  El lienzo procede, al igual que los retratos de Doña María de Vera y Gasca y de Juan González de Uzqueta —también en la Colección BBVA— del convento de las Carmelitas Descalzas de Boadilla del Monte, y todos ellos forman parte de la misma familia, fundadora y protectora del mismo. 

Inicialmente se consideró a la dama, que se representa vestida a la moda de los años 1670 como la madre del muchacho, pero la edad del retratado, de dieciséis años (ETATIS SUAE 16 AÑOS) en torno a la fecha de realización de la obra, que Pérez Sánchez considera hacia 1645-50, desmonta esta teoría. Pero doña María de Vera y Gasca no tuvo descendencia, lo que nos lleva a pensar que el retratado podría ser Juan González de Uzqueta (1615-1670) joven. Quizá este retrato se hiciese para conmemorar la concesión de la orden de Santiago, pero también cabe la posibilidad de que las cruces se incorporasen en un momento posterior. En cualquier caso, aparece mención de don Juan como caballero de Santiago en 1636, e Ismael Gutiérrez Pastor apunta que la pose del retratado se aproxima a la utilizada por Velázquez en los retratos del príncipe Baltasar Carlos de hacia 1640. Asimismo, apunta que la obra podría ser de Bartolomé Román (1587-1647), segundo maestro de Juan Carreño de Miranda, que tanta relación tuvo con los padres del retratado.  La golilla, con ecos todavía del tenebrismo, se utilizó durante el reinado de Felipe IV (1621-1640) e inicios del reinado de Carlos II (1661-1700), a cuya moda viste el retratado. Sobre su severa indumentaria negra y su corta capa, del mismo paño, aparece bordada la cruz de los caballeros de Santiago.

Preso da Penitenciária Regional morre após suposta briga

Nesta segunda-feira (23), no início da manhã, no Hospital Regional Pedro Juan Caballero, foi confirmada a morte de Ederson Rodrigo Medina, 33 anos, que estava detido na Penitenciária Regional da referida cidade. Sua morte ocorreu depois que ele se envolveu em uma suposta briga na prisão. O corpo foi examinado pelo médico legista César González, que informou haver um ferimento contuso na região…

Sylv’s lineage

In all my talk of the first Don, there’s one tiny detail I only today realised: The Coraza de Caballero’s description box: "An agility-increasing outfit once worn by a KNIGHT known for his godlike skills with the sword".

Even better, the Coraza de Caballero looks nothing like typical knight armour - which may be where the first Don got inspiration to make the present-day Valorian knight outfit from. As someone accustomed to moving fast (thanks to the agility boost of his  own outfit), he’d have wanted his own knights not to be weighed-down by heavy armour i.e. as worn in Heliodor - which he would have seen from his time spent there.

Additionally, in Japanese, the Chivalry tree skills Whipping Boy, Whipping Joy and Whipping Ploy are called “Selflessness”, “Selflessness Knowledge” and “Selflessness Secret Teachings". I feel this goes hand-in-hand with this passage from the book on the Shield of Heliodor: “So greatly moved was the king of Zwaardsrust by the knight’s selfless bravery…”.

Which again has me thinking: The first Don was one of the brother-Kings of Heliodor, with his brother either rewarding him or exiling him to Puerto Valor after defeating the dragon (the NPC you learn the story from in Puerto Valor only says the knight was “sent” there, so it could go either way).

Furthermore, Sylv’s best unique sword is the Shamshir of Light; an analogy to the Luminary’s Sword of Light, perhaps. Not to mention the recipe for the Shamshir can only be found in the Luminary’s Trial of Drustan’s Trials. Perhaps Drustan himself crafted it for the knight?

The first Don was the legendary knight who saved Sir Drustan from the dragon in Heliodor way back when. His outfit then got handed down the generations to Don Rodrigo, who then handed it down to Sylv, who, after all of the above, seems more-than likely to be the first Don’s reincarnation. Sylv would later receive the sword whilst journeying with the new Luminary.

If this is the case, then he might have been brought back to aid the Luminary this time around, as the first Don only met Drustan AFTER Erdwin had passed away. Sylv is amazing at supporting other party members with buffing spells and abilities; what if the first Don had been much of the same if he’d met Drustan and the others sooner?

Con la psicodelia propia de las grandes capitales, pero cierta densa serenidad de los pueblos grandes, Valencia parece ofrecerlo todo. Aunque su fundación oficial llegó de la mano de los romanos como una colonia de su imperio en 138 a.C. bajo el nombre de Valentia Edetanorum, recostada sobre el Mare Nostrum (hoy el Mediterráneo), llevaba al menos un siglo cobijando asentamientos alrededor de sus huertas profusas gracias a sus terrenos fértiles. Para el 75 a.C. había sido diezmada por una guerra y durante un siglo quedó abandonada, apenas habitada por algunos pocos agricultores. Renació con poderío en el siglo II d.C. y se convirtió en un puerto clave y poderoso. Llegó a tener un circo con capacidad para 10.000 espectadores, de cuyo muro aún quedan vestigios en la iglesia de San Juan del Hospital. Las actuales calles Salvador-Almoina y Caballeros reinventan el cruce clave de los caminos de entonces. Mucho de los restos de aquella época se encuentran en el centro arqueológico de L’Almoina que es considerado el km. 0 de Valencia y en la Cripta Arqueológica de la cárcel de San Vicente. Para el siglo VIII llegó la dominación musulmana, cuyo epicentro sería tomado por Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, El Cid, hasta que pasó a ser dominio de Aragón en 1238.  Con tanta mezcla cultural y con eje en el poderío del Mediterráneo, a la par de su increíble albufera (una de las cuatro en todo el mundo), Valencia ha sido el origen de la paella, de los Borgia y sus dos papas, del más famoso mercado de la seda y la arquitectura típica local que ha logrado reunir toda su historia para volcarla en edificios como el mítico Mercado Colón.
