Laura and Roderick McAllister always wanted children, however, being that Laura is a banshee, they had to consider that their children may also be one. However, they decided it was worth the risk and they decided to give it a shot. Ruairi was born about a year later. When he was about two years old, they had started to see the signs of being a banshee like his mother and it was from then on out that his parents decided that living in the secluded countryside was the best course of action. Knowing that it could be lonesome for their son, they decided to have one more child and gave birth to his younger sister, Adaline, when he was almost five years old.

Ruairi had met his fiancée, Charlotte, when she started to use his therapy services. When the two realized that things were heading towards more than just Charlotte using his therapy service, she quickly found a new one and they were able to start their relationship. The week of their wedding, Charlotte passed away suddenly, which was when Ruairi discovered he was a banshee.

About Ruairi:

Ruairi was born in Dublin, Ireland to Roderick and Laura McAllister. His parents were both Dryads, and on the Fae Court, but they left that life behind and moved off the grid from the rest of society. They bought a potato farm from a retired farmer and used their abilities to help the farm grow even more than it was. 

When his parents realized that Ruairi was bored pretty much all the time, they decided to have another child. This time it was a girl whom they named Adaline.

Even as an infant, Ruairi could remember hearing voices murmuring but there wasn’t much he could do about it besides cry. But when he got older and he asked his parents about it, they informed him that he, too, was a Dryad and those were the voices of the plants in the area. 

While his parents were pretty steadfastly against going into town, Ruairi was always curious about it. He always wanted to interact with the people in town but never had the opportunity. So, he spent a lot of his time speaking with the flora, trees and plants in the area.

For the first eighteen years of his life, all he knew was the farm and his family. When he finally was old enough to move, he did. His parents understood, though they wished he would try to move somewhere closer. However, Ruairi didn’t want to stay in Ireland anymore. He wanted to experience the world and he figured the place for that was New York City.

When he arrived in New York, the first place he went was Staten Island. His parents had told him about the Fae Court there and he was curious about it and learning more about what he was. The Court welcomed him with open arms and Ruairi joined the court that day.

He eventually got into NYU and graduated from there when he was twenty seven with a masters in Psychology. Using his natural charm and luck, he managed to get a job at an office in Manhattan. 

Ruairi took on several new patients and hit the ground running, wanting to get started helping whoever he could.

There he met Charlotte Bell, who he immediately fell for, and she fell for him. Charlotte switched therapists the moment they realized their feelings so that Ruairi could keep his job and the two started dating.

Within a year, the two were engaged and were to be married.

The day of their wedding rehearsal, Charlotte suddenly collapsed, and she was rushed into emergency surgery. Unfortunately, she didn’t survive the surgery and passed away that afternoon.

Ruairi fell into a deep depression that he almost didn’t pull through. But his coworkers convinced him to go to group therapy and it was there he met Lancelot (Lark) Crane.

With the help of Lark, he was able to heal from the travesty that happened and was able to find himself again. Lark and Ruairi helped each other so much and found such comfort in one another that they started dating.

Now, Ruairi is still living in Manhattan, bouncing back and forth between his apartment and Lark’s, working as therapist still
