Another sunny day in Brooms Town.

People were rushing to their jobs while children were carelessly playing outside. Young couples walking the bright streets hand in hand with eachother. Parents taking their kids out in the blooming parks of the town.

What a lovely picture. A canvas painted in vibrant colors of the spring. A canvas painted so beautifully that one would want to be a part of its world, enjoying the simplicity of everyday life.

Unfortunately that wish wasn't meant to become true for everyone.

Locked behind the cold hospital walls, the young black haired artist was jealously looking at the picture she wanted to paint and refusing to look at her ruined canvas.

Jin was lying on her hospital bed, observing the world outside from the shadows of her room. Her hair still torn in an uneven cut. She was wearing the same clothes as the day when she came, except they were now clean. Some of the nurses were kind enough to wash them.

It's been a week since she got here. A week since...

Jin drew a long sigh, thoughts of that day running through her mind. She placed her head back on the pillow. The incident was the only thing she's been thinking about lately.

During those long days the girl was completely alone. She only received a few messages from her teachers, including a message where she was informed about her room being given away. Her classmates didn't bother to check on her. Do they even know why she's absent? Jin wasn't sure.

But there was also something else. One of the nurses told the young daisy that an officer came with her. An officer that barely spoke English. The nurse told Jin that he wanted to stay until he was sure that she'd be okay, but had to leave before the surgery was even over. "He said something about his chief" she told Jin.

The girl immediately recognised who that officer was. Whenever she wasn't scolding herself for getting in such trouble, she'd think about him. She didn't know why but she really wanted to see his starry eyes and kind smile again, though the rookie hasn't showed up at all during the past week.

The doctors told her that she'd have to stay in the hospital for at least two or three weeks, not counting the week she got in. That's more than half a month of her studies. She didn't have that much time to lose. Plus, her things were still at the police station.. And she'd also have to do a lot of explaining too.

Jin raised one of her hands, looking at the tubes that connected her to the droppers. She pulled out the needle, disconnecting herself from the medicine. The girl got up from her bed. Standing proved to be a big struggle, let alone walking. She looked at her aching wound. Black stitches holding the yellowish from the iodine skin were clearly showing. It's way too early for her to try and leave the doctors' watchful eyes but she couldn't bare staying in here any longer.

Leaning against the wall, Jin walked towards the exit.

Worriness is a trait that could cause doom to some.

The rookie always worried. About everything. About everyone. But he seemed to cast a blind eye when it came to himself. He was a functioning adult of society, Poli did have the image that he could take care of himself just fine.

The inner child that dreamed upon the stars disagreed, however. He didn't like it whenever the adult on the outside left trash bags rot inside the complex. He hated when food was not an important fuel to the officer.

The child cried when the thoughts of reaching the galaxy came around.

Poli rests his head against his desk, filled with paperwork to the brim. It had about been a week or so since the teenager found a place in his home.

Some time from the incident, too.

The academy forced Jin back into the system, up and working. Poli despised it. A young girl, so brutally brought to look at the injury a wilted rose caused, an injury that engraved itself into her.

Painful reminder, is what they say.

Now that the girl lived here, obvious changes twisted his home around. Trash to machinery that still needed to be worked on in his room, bags that found themselves in the corner.

Jin still hasn't warmed up to the star, so she sustained to making her own little corner in the apartment. He didn't mind. Poli did state several times that the inventor didn't feel the need to speak to him, just to paint him as a ghost he views himself as on the canvas.

The girl still made some attempts, and he certainly did find these attempts grateful. It was hard. Hard for her to cope. Poli was angry when the academy discarded her injury, only batting an eye to her studies.

Threatening her with failing grades if she wanted to rest. His academy was familiar, but for a reason that he, himself found unknown too;

He cared for her more than himself.

Poli sighs. He had been dreaming again while dozing off from the big binder of English he had been teaching himself with. He couldn't focus–

His focus regrains when he notices books that weren't his onto the bed. Weren't those–

Jin's books! She forgot to take them with her!

He jolts out from his chair, clumsily stumbling onto his knees. The rookie groans, picking himself up and practically crawling to the pile of unforgotten books.

Jin just left. He still has time.

Shoving the books into a navy blue shoulder bag, he faces the door.

And save her from a failing grade. Poli heads out, a duty to start his day off.

This time I drew my favorite characters (one at the moment and from 2020 aka Roy, and a favorite character that I liked since childhood, also known as Poli)

It was hard for me to choose the colors and design Roy and Poli, but I did it(⁠ﾉ⁠◕⁠ヮ⁠◕⁠)⁠ﾉ⁠*⁠.⁠✧

Maybe in the future I'll make art of Human AU for Helly and Amber (and maybe then the team of Mountain Rescuers, Desert Rescuers)

Your phone dims up your room by a slight when you recieve a message from an unknown number.

Although, it didn't need to have a name on it to be obvious who this number belonged to.

"Hello, Jin. You wanted to meet, didn't you? I am free. Shame that your silly town is far for my tastes, but i'll cater towards your tastes. We'll have to meet at night, however."

What an asshole... Whispered Jin as she picked up the phone. Her eyebrows furrowed at the message. For a week and a half she's been thinking of nothing else but this man's piercing gaze and his haunting smile.

Now was finally the time.

"Hello. Ok, I'll come tonight. Have you chosen time and place?"

She never felt so empty in her own house before.

Her home felt nothing but a dark atmosphere, eating away at her sanity. The peck from Andras on the cheek felt so suffocating. What was she supposed to believe? A rescue team who swore that her husband is a man of corruption or the man she swore to love for the rest of her life?

9:50.. Almost time for them to come. Time was slower today. Or was it faster? She didn't know. She didn't know anything. She doesn't understand. She's so tired of not getting the image.

Cheryl turns her head towards a picture of her and Andras, both happily caressing one's cheek on their cheek. The frame shows Cheryl's bright smile; matching the pure white wedding dress she had. Zorn's eyes looked dull, but a soft smile still formed on his lips. His eyes were dull as his black suit. Was his heart like that too?

She can't.. stand to look at him. Not like this. She flipped the frame upside down, away from her view. She felt.. disgusted. At herself. Maybe. At him? Her mind was a never ending carrousel.

She needs something to distract herself with. Something to make the carrousel faulty and stop. Will accommodating her guests suffice?

She let her hand run through the walls of her ‘home’. The paint still stuck onto them like a champ. It hasn't been long since they had the house. Cheryl doesn't remember. Time felt endless. Was her history all a lie?

She sighed, approaching the kitchen and opening one of the kitchen cabinets to grab at some cookie packets. This will be good for a little distraction.
