Note
Hey Tulin. I’ve come to the realization that you’ve said some things about me, so I’ll be retracting nearly everything I said in that letter.
Tumblr media
@asksakitherito look what Tulin wrote. I say we ban pizza in Rito Village for a year.
Hey Tulin, it’s your dad speaking.
I realize now you’ve been here for quite some time; much longer than me. I’m not gonna be on your tail feathers watching every single thing you do like a hawk, because honestly I don’t have the time to if you’re strong enough to wield the Great Eagle Bow and inherit the title ‘Sage of Wind,’ then you're capable of conducting yourself in a cordial way. All I ask is to let me know when someone asks you weird, rude, or invasive questions; I’ll gladly use them for target practice the next time I’m free.
You’re already doing it I guess, but don’t let your mother know about any of this. She might become furious knowing who you interacted with.
Love,
Your Father
I amn…. So innocent. You havbe….. nothing to worryy about

Just getting this idea out there so that maybe I'll actually finish writing it one day, but -
I've been on a Legend of Zelda kick recently. Currently replaying BOTW. Never played AOC but I've watched gameplay and all the cutscenes so I know what happens. Planning to play that and TOTK again soon. But I've got this idea cooking in my head.
Theres a post that talks about "what if you could find the Divine Beasts in the Depths", and another funny post that was just "what if Teba was the sage of Wind and not Tulin?" And I remembered when BOTW had just come out, and then AOC after, and people were speculating about the characters, like Teba, being the New Champions and getting to bond to the Divine Beasts.
That didn't happen in canon, but. Hear me out. What if even just one of the Divine Beasts bonded with a New Champion... like say, the one who doesn't become a Sage?
Teba, Sidon, Riju, and Yunobo return from their adventure in the past/alternate timeline/whatever, having saved those Champions and that Hyrule from destruction. Their own timeline is still the same, but they continue on as they do in canon.
Except they all meet up shortly after returning home, and one of them (Sidon or Riju maybe) asks "hey did anyone else try going to the Divine Beasts only to get rejected" and while the rest are like "yup wonder what that's about, sad" Teba is like "no wtf are you all talking about I was settling back in with my wife and kid."
But something about it sticks with Teba. He goes home, looks up at Vah Medoh, and thinks, 'it probably won't work but I may as well try just to confirm.'
...Vah Medoh accepts him as its new pilot.
I'm unsure as to whether or not Revali's spirit will still be there for a quick hello - but if he is, he'd be like "whomst?!" And Teba would be like "if you were still alive I'd definitely adopt you because thanks to some time travel shenanigans i know that you desperately needed a parental figure in your life".
Mostly everything else proceeds as is canon up to the start of TOTK - except for the other Divine Beasts continuing to chill at their resting places, because upon hearing about Teba successfully bonding with Medoh, the others want to keep trying.
But, for whatever reason, Hylia decided that you cannot be both a Sage and a Divine Beast pilot, so the Beasts acknowledge them but never quite accept them as their pilots.
Then, TOTK. Then the chasms. Then, the other 3 Divine Beasts taking a plunge into the Depths.
Teba freaks out a little bit, but Medoh is circling Rito Village and is fine, except now there's these random floating islands but also a fuckass blizzard that's making it almost impossible to keep everyone fed, and Teba's just been saddled with Elder status so he's super in charge and Tulin is in a bit of a "I can do anything let me prove it let's go" phase and is trying to convince Teba to use Vah Medoh to fly up and stop the blizzard, but Teba is way too busy trying to keep the village from falling apart to go right now -
Then Link shows up, and Tulin runs off, and Link follows him, and the two go up and find the Stormwind Ark and fight Colgera and as the magical blizzard finally ends, Teba is just like "what the fuck".
Tulin tells him he's become a Sage, and isn't that cool dad?! And Teba is like "you're 12 and you're going to help fight a demon king?!?! Wtf?!"
But then at some point, Tulin (who knows the other Sages from that time he was in AOC, and meeting them a few times with his dad after) one day looks up from his breakfast and says "oh hey Sidon just became the Sage of Water! I saw it through my connection with Link!" And that's when it clicks into place for Teba why the Beasts never quite accepted the other "New Champions" - because they were destined for something else.
But Vah Medoh is still here. And it's pissed that it's fellow Beasts are gone and it also wants to blast Ganondorf in the face.
Unfortunately, Teba can't let it blast the castle when Link and co go to confront the Zelda illusion, because Tulin is there, Link is there, Sidon and Riju and Yunobo are there, and it's not the real demon king yet anyway.
Teba is grumpy about it, about letting Tulin go off and risk his life when he's a child and Teba is an adult, but then a huge dark dragon explodes out from the chasm below the castle and Vah Medoh is all too happy to fire upon it, knowing it's Ganondorf and wanting some sweet revenge of its own.
Teba's just surprised he can see the dark dragon, it's huge but he'd heard tales of only the young, or those chosen by thr goddesses, could see dragons. Maybe it's because of Vah Medoh that he can see this one, and the little light dragon that comes in and - hey is that Link?!
Maybe it ends with Teba going down to the Depths with Link to visit the other Divine Beasts, and suggesting that the locations stay known so that future generations may try to awaken them. They don't really need the Beasts anymore since both Calamity Ganon and Ganondorf have been defeated, but Medoh doesn't want to turn off and is happy just chilling at Rito Village with Teba. The end.
I have like 2.5k of this already written, I just wanted to use this post to write more of the ideas for the fic structure before I go to bed lol. And this idea probably doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense canon-wise, but it doesn't need to because the only reason this exists is because i love Teba and wish he'd gotten more screntime (or at least some spoken dialogue in the cutscenes!) in TOTK.

More totk things I did/saw yesterday:
Sticky lizards. Sticky lizards sticky lizards sticky lizards. Sticky lizards. Did I mention sticky lizards.
The glowing cave fish are so pretty, I love their colors. I just love all the glowing stuff in the caves, and the caves in general, they were a superb decision on nintendo’s part
I fought some of those crazy monkey bokoblin things. I forget what they’re called. I maybe screamed a little because they startled me. But also something about them reminds me of the Mogmas in skyward sword and that worries me a little (even though I’m sure it’s a coincidence).
PELICAN RITO!!!
Penn is the best. He’s so silly goofy. I love his little salute he does as he leaves and “soar long” abshdbdjdbd. I really hope he carries stuff in his beak at some point (letters would be REALLY funny).
Since when can the trees attack by the way? what happened to those trees. Who hurt you. Ents gone rogue. Rebellious teenage Ents maybe.
Didn’t expect to find Impa in the middle of a field but okay! why not. Thought I’d have to hike all the way over to Kakariko to see her. I was also surprised she isn’t dead but I guess Sheikah just live longer. She’s gotta be pushing 130 at least...
(The rest is a little long so it goes under the cut):
The geoglyphs are really cool. Part of time is thinking they’re just a way for the developers to take up space without having to put anything but eh I’m forgiving.
The geoglyph of Rauru looks like he’s in a wheelchair. I don’t have anything further to say about that I just think it’s interesting.
Dragon tears... mysterious dragon... dragon people... hmmmmmm. hm.
Zelda: *wakes up to see a lady with poofy hair and a literal dragon dude standing over her* oh it’s going to be one of those days isn’t it
Jokes aside I’m glad Zelda isn’t alone at least? Even if she’s ten bajillion years in the past or however long it is. At least she didn’t wake up basically alone like Link did. Plus Sonia and Rauru are funny hehe
Got three game overs from a battle talus thing and then ran away 😔
Zelda sounds really into the blood moon thing tbh. Like in botw it sounds like a tired warning, but in totk it’s like HERE COME THE MONSTERS BABE *cue the you better watch out vine*
Second geoglyph memory tear thing was very interesting. That view from the great plateau is incredible, I want to look around hyrule from a bajillion years ago. How come only Zelda got to go... anyway interesting how Sonia could sense she and Zelda were related. And also if they are indeed related and therefore Rauru is too then how come Zelda just looks... Hylian? Are Zonai genes just extremely recessive or something? Or has it just been so long with so many Hylian genes that they’re just all gone. I have Questions.
Also Rauru has a big sister? Little brother Rauru?? hehehe
I feel bad for thinking it but the blizzard situation is kinda fun ngl. I know the Rito are struggling but I LOVE snowy areas. I LOVE THEM.
And the music is different in rito village aaaaaaaa. Again I feel real sorry for the Rito. But I love the vibes. I love the snow. I love it here.
KASS’S GIRLS ARE OLDER aww!! I got a little burst of pride seeing them they’re all so responsible now *squeals*
Side note it’s weird that the botw shrines are gone. It’s like I know something should be there but it’s missing. And nobody acts like it’s even gone. But I know it is. It’s missing and it should be there but it isn’t.
...Is this what Link feels like all the time?
Anyway.
Tulin sounds like Spike the dragon from mlp but honestly that just makes me love him more. He’s a cute little responsible and rebellious teenager now!! And Teba is dealing with that haha. Also a promotion!! I’m sure it’s rough being village elder, but I think you’re doing a good job Teba.
Oh I forgot to mention the newspaper place, that looks like it’s going to be a fun sidequest! And the music is great there too (also Penn again!!! Beloved!!!).
And I think that’s all :)

Master List Here!!
Ao3 Version!!
Yoooo!! @hyrulerbnb was awesome to allow me to write a fic based off of a short comic the have made set after TotK. It's not perfect, but I'm glad for this opportunity to write properly again. Due to the length of it, we have decided that it'll be best to have it as a multi-chapter story. It allows me to focus better on the next part rather than feel like I missed something with the sheer length this would be. I have linked about an Ao3 version as well so you may read whichever version is easier for you.
I hope you enjoy the fic!!
💪😎💕
Word Count - Three Thousand, Three Hundred and Thirty-Six. (3336)
To Cherish These Moments - Chapter One (1).
It was a beautiful day in the fields of Hyrule. The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and on a day like this, the Sages, along with Purah and Josha, were wishing that they could at least go out and enjoy it. Princess Zelda had requested a meeting with them about the future plans and projects for the Kingdom.
They hadn't anticipated that it would be a two-week-long affair with towering paper work. From requests to reports, the months worth of them and the time added due to double-checking each were still valid and required. Thankfully, they were prepared with reports from their homelands before departing for Lookout Landing. The time was only there because of the sheer number of forms, signature lines, and reports that needed to be filled out.
Oh yeah, did they mention the many reports?
Thankfully, each representative who had previously journeyed to the Landing, Buliara, Harth, and Muzu was familiar with and well-experienced in helping with the arguable task. Allowing each of the Sages to have their much-needed breaks to eat and sleep. Teba had also arrived to help since Tulin had no clue how to do reports properly yet. They can't help but feel jealous of the freedom the young Rito Warrior had. And he openly joked about it; none were offended but longed to escape the stuffy, makeshift barracks they currently occupied.
"Princess Zelda, I think now would be a good time for us to take a break from this work." King Sidon suggests it on the morning of the ninth (9th) day as he watches his fellow warriors and leaders drag themselves to the building like clockwork. "It seems that everyone has grown weary of the task at hand."
Said Princess was still oblivious to their plight as she looked up at the Zora King, hair dishevelled, a messy pile of paper scrunched in one hand, and a pen in the other. "But we're so close to finishing now. We only have to double-check the request and transport the supplies to the Hebra and Gerudo regions. Then we'll have to-"
"Princess, forgive my tone when I say that we need a break. Our fellow sages and elders are about to burn out. Take a look." Sidon pleaded as a subtle thud was heard from inside.
Zelda reluctantly followed him to the doorway to the room and found that the eccentric scientist's head had hit the table; the thud they heard, her arm used as her pillow, and light snoring were heard. Her young protégé poked her with the recorder that she normally held with very little reaction, other than a weak attempt to wave her off and crossing her arms as she got more comfortable. Josha was more awake than the others, than all of them, a dead giveaway that Purah had taken over the bulk of the work to save the child from the grasps of the exhaustion that claimed her.
The Rito's feathers were puffed as they tried not to doze off as well. It was a clear sign that tiredness had made them more sensitive to the cold of autumn mornings. Valiantly staying awake to get this job done.
Yunobo, who was sitting on the floor next to the table, only let out a yawn as he shook his head a little, the action making him accidentally fall onto his back and then onto his side. He just looked at the paperwork from that angle with no effort to get up.
The most surprising was from Gerudo. Normally, the Gerudo would no issue with having to battle in all elements, from the scorching sandstorms of the desert to the unforgiving cold of the Hebra, they were able to incorporate shield surfing into their combat when in the slippery lands of Lanayru, always training to hone their skills and be ready for the next battle at a moment's notice. But there they were, battling to stay awake. Riju curled up at Buliara's side under a blanket as her guardian took a gulp of the roasting, hot, and bitter coffee.
The young chief had always spearheaded efforts to get the job done as efficiently as possible. But here she was, dozing off wrapped in Buliara's arm. She wasn't allowed to have more coffee, or "Nectar of the Gods," as they all liked to call it.
Looking at Muzu and Sidon, Zelda noticed that their scales were not as shiny as before, a sure sign that the climate of the area dried them out a little faster than normal, a cause for concern as they normally have a slight smooth and squishy feel and not the dry bumpy feel that's starting to show. Their colours also seem to have dulled.
Turning to Sidon, "Forgive me, I failed to realise that the work was strenuous for everyone."
Sidon let out a chuckle. "It is ok, Princess. I believe we have failed to realise that we, for the moment, tire at a slower rate compared to our companions."
It was true that ever since her transformation and reverting back thousands of years later, Zelda had lacked the need to sleep for as long as Link did, and rightfully so. She knew this effect may not last long, so this meeting and paper work were what she felt needed more priority, thus seizing the opportunity to get the job done. She can't help but be jealous of how the Zora can be up for days at a time before they even begin to feel the need to rest. Maybe it is a part of why they age at such a slow rate as well?
"Young Tulin had found a beautiful spot not too far from here, and Link confirmed that it's free from any possible threat. Why not have a picnic of sorts as a way of thanking them for their efforts?"
A picnic, of all things, is being suggested. Zelda would have protested and would have just given them a few hours of rest before noticing that Josha was starting to yawn too. She wasn't fully spared from all this work. The guilt of the very thought she just had was terrible. A few hours of rest was no reward for those who put the time and effort into their tasks. She knew firsthand that it was terrible. It was lonely. No, she wasn't her father. A picnic it shall be; the fresh air would do them all some good.
But first.
"Josha, please try not to damage Purah's glasses." The young Shiekah nearly dropped them before calming herself to put them on top of her own, claiming to have felt smarter in that very moment. Then I got a pen and drew little whiskers and a swirl on both sides of the sleeping scientist's face. "Josha. Why?"
Tapping her fingers together with a devilish little cackle, all she said was "Revenge." Then proceed to meet up with Robbie, with the red-rimmed glasses still on and the recorder proudly held in her hand.
Zelda and Sidon looked at each other before chuckling. Well, if that new happy feeling wasn't a sign to have some fun, she didn't know what it was.
"Everyone." She started, giving a single clap to get their attention. "I apologise. I have failed to realise how tiring this task has become. As Princess of Hyrule, it is my duty to make sure its people are cared for. But both as a princess and to have you all as my closest friends, I have failed in that very task. Forgive me."
"Now don't you worry about that, Princess." Teba chirped up. Princess was actually being used as a nickname rather than a title. A fatherly gesture that was only understood between them and Purah, who also only ever called her this as a nickname. "This is certainly a task we wouldn't have you do all by yourself."
"Especially when you didn't have all the current papers from each region to begin with." Riju added as she lazily lifted up a folder with the Gerudo symbol on it, not bothering to sit up from Buliara's side. "The travel alone would take quite a bit of time. Then transporting all of it here, even with teleportation, is too much for one (1) person alone." She glowed at her guardian as she was denied the nectar of the gods.
Zelda chuckled a little at the sight. Riju has certainly grown into a fine leader and warrior, a proper Chief of the Gerudo. She was confident then too; don't get Zelda wrong. Riju was but a young child when tasked with leadership, caring for her people, and Vah Naboris on top of that. Then add the upheaval on top of that. She was lucky the women understood her plight; that was one of the few little things that made her task easier.
Just like how Zelda was lucky to have her friends here to help her in her plight, The things she saw in her short (not counting the years sealing away Ganondorf's) life—that calamity, the sacrifices of the Champions, Link's sacrifice, his battle to save her while still amnesiac, then helping him recover the rest, his injury to the mummified Demon King, witnessing the loss of her ancestors firsthand She just spent thousands of years as a dragon, and they all bid farewell to Mineru as she passed onto the spirit world not long ago. And all that time, from what Link had told her, they did all they could to help her, although some of that was Puppet Zelda's doing, but those closest to her knew something was up; they all ran into danger when they thought she was in danger. No, she can't have them overwork a second longer!
Her father may have only given them a couple days to "rest" by doing lighter loads of work, but she is not him. She is no longer dictated to by him to do what's right for her kingdom. Fellow leaders included. She has every right to rest and not do as much work when everything is caught up with that, and her friends are allowed to do the same thing. His nagging words can just stay there in the back of her mind, easy to ignore.
"Everyone, please take the next few days off to do as you please. We thankfully have the majority of it finished, so the paperwork can be another day's problem."
They can't help but be confused; it wasn't even ten (10) in the morning, and they just got here. Zelda then gently shooed them all away, insisting that she'd be taking a break too, and if they wanted to go home, they should do so. Just don't work! If anything were to happen, they'd know via the Secret Stones and Purah Pads. So they did, barring the still-snoozing Purah, whom Buliara and Riju stayed with in the office, and pulled Sidon off to the nearby gate. From there, they planned how they could take them all out to the spot and surprise them with the picnic. The Shiekah mentioned that back home in Kakariko Village, there were to be celebrations of their own for Impa's long-awaited retirement and Paya's newly appointed role as village elder.
Then the young Rito excitedly flew over to join in, practically exclaiming to Zelda that he found the "absolute best spot for a picnic and hangout in all of Hyrule!" She couldn't help but match his excitement. She said she heard that he's done a great job, and that's truly appreciated.
"Then it's settled, then!" Sidon cheerfully says, clasping his hands together in excitement and finality. "We shall set up their favourite food and beverages as a way to thank them for all they've done."
"And I guard them from any pesky enemy that may steal our food!" Tulin chirps as he puffs out his chest and wings at his waist. "Lest The Great Tulin blow them away with his amazing skills."
"Just so long as he doesn't also blow all the food away... again." Sidon adds in faux concern, placing a hand on the Rito's head and getting a squawk in return. "Poor Link has to chase after those well-earned apples before they roll off the cliff edge and float away."
"Knowing him, he would have swam after them regardless." Zelda laughs. "Even if it was freezing out!"
"He did, actually. Sometimes he was just in his boxers too." Tulin joins in, laughing only harder when Zelda exclaims, "What?" in surprise.
"Why are you surprised? He did it even a hundred (100) years ago; I remember that much." Sidon reminisces. "He certainly doesn't hesitate to fish that way either; he always helped Mipha and me when he was growing."
Well, if Zelda wasn't doing her best impersonation of a fish out of water before, she certainly is now. And then insisting he tell that story at the picnic. Tulin also said there was a nice lake nearby, so a nice swim and a live example from Link are certainly settled. Sidon asked if their representatives would join in too; they did just as much work as the Sages and Leaders did. Of course!! And those in Lookout Landing are free to party as well. They've all been at it during and since the end of the upheaval. Celebrations are in order!
With that, the plan is set. Sidon bid them farewell for now in order to catch up with Muzu and make their way home to Zora's domain. The swim there will rejuvenate their scales and aching joints from being on land for too long. Tulin stays behind with Zelda; she did promise him that he could show her Rito's way of braiding hair after all. They do it with their talons, but he's been putting in a lot of practice with Saki, his mother, just to show the Hylians and Gerudo how much he truly appreciated the opportunity to help in the cause. He is a fiesty and cocky warrior, but he is still just a kid after all. He put her in mind of Revali. They may not be related by blood, but they were in spirit. The Rito Champion would certainly be proud of the young Sage of Wind just as much as the Rito were proud of him.
At Tulin's insistence, she made the little hike towards the spot. It was only thirty (30) minutes away, but when she finally made it, it was beautiful. The Sages would absolutely love this spot. Tulin had certainly inherited Saki's keen eye for beauty, as it turned out. Just, uh, don't bring that up in front of the others. He didn't want to appear girly. The excitement grew when they were talking about what they could do there for the day as they returned to the landing.
Upon their return to the barracks, yelling and the sounds of a struggle were heard. The Princess and the Rito looked at each other before charging through the door. The sight before them made Tulin burst into fits of laughter, with Zelda joining in once she had registered what was happening before her, though not half as loud as Tulin was. There, with her head stuck between two (2) fists, was Riju! Purah had done this to limit her movement.
"Tell me, I say!" Purah demanded with an amused smirk. "Tell me, and I might not mess up your hair!"
"I refuse!" Riju protested, trying to pry her head free from the Shiekah's hold by pulling at her wrists. "Dammit, how are you this strong?"
"What's going on?" Zelda asked Buliara, who was standing by the entrance with a smirk on her face.
"Lady Riju thought it wise to inform Purah that her current appearance was amusing and made a number of cat puns, which Purah played along with, which is not unusual. The thing that ultimately set this off was when Lady Riju refused to disclose Miss Josha's whereabouts and said that Purah would "have to fight for the answer, but it wouldn't be an easy one." The Gerudo Guard retold the events, adjusting her grip on the blanket she was wrapped up in. "Yeah, Lady Riju lasted all but ten (10) seconds in that skirmish, and I'm surprised that Purah had gotten a hold of Lady Riju. The Shiekah are far more terrifying than I initially thought when faced as an opponent."
"You should have seen Impa back during the calamity. She would take out numerous monsters and various Guardians with her clone abilities quicker than any Gerudo Chief shooting lightning." Zelda gave a fond smile as she added, "Even Urbosa was unable to match her speed most times. Fury or no fury."
Buliara looks at the princess with a gentle smile as she places a hand on her shoulder. She understood how much of a mother figure Lady Urbosa was to the Princess, and they would be damned if any harm came to their closest ally. Riju, being her direct descendant, had the same personality quirks as the Gerudo Champion but was still her own person all the same. Zelda vowed to care for her just like Urbosa did for Zelda.
The mini-skirmish ended with Purah the victor; she had indeed messed up Riju's hair a decent bit. She then left to hunt down the young scientist in order to reclaim her glasses, plotting with herself how to get revenge.
"All clear." Buliara then says it out of the blue. Tulin and Zelda looked at her, confused, before seeing the blanket begin to move on her back. "I don't think I could cover you again should Purah return."
Sure enough, with the blanket dropping down and folded over the Gerudo Guard's arm, was the little gremlin that is Josha. She had Buliara piggyback her and throw the blanket over them a few seconds before the scientist caught up to her again.
"Thanks for your help. I have a comb right here, and I best make my escape back to goggles. BYYYYEEEE!!" Josha hurriedly says, leaving the comb beside Riju, who has yet to sit up from the ground, and hurriedly out the window towards the lookout.
Zelda informed Buliara of the plans for the picnic idea; she would have the extra muscles to carry the goods to the spot and keep Tulin company while guarding them. She thought it was a wonderful idea; it would allow the young chief to finally be in the company of friends after such a long time since travel to and from the desert is a great task for those unaccustomed to the climate and terrain. A party at Lookout Landing would be a great morale boost for the occupants and maybe even allow them to get to know their fellow warriors more. While Zelda quietly informed Buliara of the rest of the details, Tulin sauntered over to Riju.
"Oh no, the mighty Gerudo Chief has fallen! Whatever shall we do?" He proclaimed this, dramatically shaking his winged fists above his head.
"Leave me be; my hair is a mess; therefore, I can't possibly return to the land of the living like this." Riju replied in faux sadness, lifting her head slightly towards him. "Take care of Patricia for me, my dear friend."
"I don't know how to care for a sand seal." The Rito was now poking her arm gently with a clawed talon, enough to nudge her. He took notice that she lacked her chief's headpiece and only had clips in her hair. "So does this mean I get to do your hair now?"
Rolling onto her back before sitting up with a cheer. "Of course! I'm excited to have it done."
"Even if I mess it up? I practiced a lot, but I don't think it'll be perfect."
Riju stands up and places a hand on his shoulder. "It'll be perfect because my friend, no, my brother, did it. It's a great honour."
And with that, Riju fixes her hair enough for Tulin to get started.

I feel like its SUPER important i document my funny tears of the kingdom experiences for future reference (cause my memory is absolute garbage and idk.. someone might find them entertaining.)
Its also fun to keep in mind that the only Zelda games I’ve played are Breath of the Wild and about half of Skyward Sword (trust me, I think this makes most of these funnier.)
I might update this as i have new encounters so it might get more spoilery as time goes on. But like.. its almost two months old and I just got it(expensive rip) so maybe spoiler warnings will be obsolete by then.
so SPOILERS AHEAD. Mostly minor spoilers since i’ve made next to no story progress in the game due to infinite distractibility and my inability to plan anything out ever (theres a reason i have 500 hours in botw.)
me, playing through the game trying to solve the mystery of getting to a high place: “ mmmm maybe i can climb it or rev(remembers I don’t have champion abilities) …ah”
*SPENDS TEN MINUTES WANDERING THE PERIMETER BEFORE COMING BACK AND REALIZING THERES AN OVERHANG* ”fucking hell, i was supposed to use the new ability the game literally taught me to use like three minutes ago.”
*going through a forest minding my own damn business, sees a tree fucking get up* ”WHAT THE SHIT- TREE MIMIC?”
Trying to get to Kakariko:” okay, i gotta find a path that doesn’t have a sinkhole or rot.”
*thinks again, but slower*
“did I just call the malice pool rot?”(the rw brainrot is real)
*sees a pool of malice moving around* ”what. Is. That.”
*it has hands, arms and eyes and it staring at me*
“WHAT IN THE PRINCESS MONONOKE-“*fucking books it to the tower*
Just climbing in the rain. Thats it. Botw treated me so well with Revali’s gale and infinite firestarters that I forgot about the pain that is climbing in the rain.
*goes to the central tower for the first time and sees link get FUCKING MANHANDLED by robot arms JUST to have them plug in his iphone and give him a fanny pack with a cord attached* ”What the FUCK Purah-“
*climbing up and around the colosseum ruins searching for chests or points of interests* ”Okay… so there’s gonna be lots of enemies if i remember right- more materials is good-“
*There were no enemies except a giant dragon. Of COURSE my curious dumbass went TOWARD the danger despite being unequipped*
“what the-”
*the dragon (with three heads) has a wider range of vision I guess and spots me. threat music starts*
“Oh god oh fuck-“
*in the end, Link was about five seconds away from being electrocuted to death. Luckily, despite FREQUENTLY FORGETTING to use abilities- i’m very familiar with using the map to teleport. Link lived another day (I think. Maybe I died to something else, idk)
*doing stable trotters mission* ”i’m basically their uber driver now.”
*hits a person and gets stuck not even five seconds later*

Ok I honestly wanted to leave Gomi and Wareta as missing. But I agree with Anonymous, Wareta should come back home! So I made a sequel to the last Dadvali post;
“Now Wareta, it is time for you to travel to Rito Village and request to be enlisted into their troops, understand?”
An now much older Wareta grunted and firmly nodded. An now elderly Gomi smirked before continuing.
“Although the Calamity fell almost a year ago, I am sure they will still be as eager as ever to accept new warriors.”
“Yes sir”
“Now, what do you do if they refuse to let you join?”
“Defeat their captain and make them beg”
“And once you join?”
“Work my way up their ranks and eventually take control”
Gomi chuckled. “Very good, my warrior. Now, do you remember what I told you about them?”
Wareta nodded. “They are nothing but rude, spineless cuccos that care only for themselves”
Gomi grinned. “Yes. Now, go get them, my warrior”
Wareta traveled to Rito Village, alone. The guards didn’t recognized her as Revali’s lost daughter, only seeing her as “a strange, rude female Rito traveler”. But Kaneli did.
“Wareta? Is that really you?”
Wareta blinked in surprise. “You...you know my name?”
Kaneli chuckled. “Of course I do. What kind of uncle would I be if I didn’t?” He then frowned at what he said next. “You wouldn’t remember me though, you had only just broken from your egg before you disappeared.”
Wareta raised an eyebrow at that. “Disappeared? What are you-?”
She was cut off by someone entering the hut. It was Harth.
Harth and Wareta stared at each other in confusion. “Dad, who is this?”
Kaneli chuckled. “Harth, I would like you to meet your older cousin. This is Wareta.”
Harth gaped in surprise. “You’re Wareta?”
“Yes, I am” Wareta answered, fully expecting any reaction other then her wing being grabbed and shook.
“It’s great to finally meet you.” Harth said, releasing Wareta’s wing after a moment. “Dad and Uncle Revali often told us about you. They left out some details out at that moment of course. But either way, it’s great to have you back.”
Wareta blinked in surprise. “Us?”
“Yes, Teba and Kass. Your little brothers” Kaneli told her. He then turned back to Harth. “My son, how about you go fetch them? I’m sure they will be very eager to meet their older sister after all these years.”
Harth nodded and took off. Leaving a very confused Wareta behind with the elder.
As they waited for Harth to return with Teba and Kass, Kaneli explained to Wareta everything she missed. The grief Revali felt after her disapperance, how Teba and Kass were born, and the sacrifices the Revali made before he fell to the Calamity. The only thing Kaneli left out was the true nature of her disappearance, only because he thought she already knew.
Wareta was really surprised. This certainly wasn’t anything like the “rude, spinless cuccos” Gomi had told her about.
Wareta stared at Teba and Kass, and they stared back. They didn’t now how long they had been like that before Kaneli spoke up.
“Now, as much as I love long reunions, I think it is very rude to just stare.”
“Oh! Right” Teba cleared his throat. “Hello there, my name is Teba. It is nice to finally meet you, Wareta.”
“And my name is Kass” Kass added with a smile.
Wareta looked between the two Ritos, unsure if she should return the greeting or judge them. Her lessons pointed her towards judging them.
“You are blind” Wareta told Teba flatly before turning to Kass. “And you are not experienced as speaker.”
Teba and Kass looked at each other confused.
“Yes, well, I suppose it is rather obvious.” Kass admitted, laughing nervously. “Teba here has been blind since birth. I myself did not utter my first words till around the age of six. Even so, we work through it.”
Wareta huffed and turned back to Kaneli. “I wish to go train. I will return at sunrise to accept your answer to my request to enlist in your troops.”
“I can take to Flight Range” Teba offered. “It was dad’s training ground, I’m sure it-”
“That won’t be necessary, thank you” Wareta interrupted. “I do not require help”
After Wareta left, Kaneli explained to Teba and Kass that she had grown up under Gomi’s influence so it will take some time for her to come around, but assured them that she will eventually and to not give up on her.
Wareta returned the next day for the answer she was hoping for. Kaneli told her to go meet with Teba for the answer, considering he was the current leader of their troops.
Wareta landed at Flight Range and quickly spotted Teba talking with Tulin before the young Rito flew towards the targets. Teba heard her as she got closer and smiled at her.
“Hello Wareta, I was wondering when you’d show up.” Teba greeted.
“My answer, do you have it?” Wareta asked flatly.
“Of course. I would love to have my older sister fight along side me.” Teba answered.
Wareta nodded and was about to leave when Tulin called over to his father.
“Hey dad! Watch this!” Tulin called before doing a few loops while still in the air.
“Nice one Tulin! You’re doing great!” Teba encouraged.
Wareta raised an eyebrow. “I thought you couldn’t see?”
Teba nodded. “I can’t”
“Then how do you know he’s doing good?”
“Because I can hear him as he flies in and out of the wind currents.” Teba explained. “Tulin isn’t exactly quiet either.”
Tulin proved his point by bursting out laughing before flying over to them and landing. His smile dropped when he saw Wareta.
“Dad, whose that?”
Teba crouched down to Tulin’s height and placed a hand on his back. “Tulin, this is your aunt, Wareta. She’s mine and uncle Kass’ sister.”
Wareta was still trying to process the fact that she was a sister, then she found out she was also a aunt. She was also struggling why Gomi would tell her false, negative things about the other Rito.
I imagine when she found that Kass wasn’t a warrior, she would be very confused and upset. Until Kass explains
“What are you doing?”
Kass stopped mid-song and turned to see Wareta standing behind him, confused. “Oh, hello Wareta. I apologize, I didn’t hear you approach.”
“What are you doing?” Wareta repeated. “Why aren’t you training? And what is that thing?”
“Oh this? This is my accordion.” Kass explained, indicated his signature instrument in his hands. “You see, I’m a musician, not a skilled warrior like you and Teba. Though I can assure you, I can still put up a fight if needed.”
Wareta raised an eyebrow. “Not a warrior? Why?”
“Well you see, I honestly tried to become a warrior at first, But my true passion lies with music.” Kass explained.
“Why?” Wareta inquired, her gaze turning into a glare. “Don’t you know that if the offspring of a warrior not does not become a warrior themselves, it is very disrespectful to the entire bloodline?”
Kass physically flinched at that. He cleared his throat to try and keep his composure. “Yes...well that’s what I thought when I started to pursue music. I never told dad in fear of this, never got a chance to before he fell to the calamity.” He took a deep breath and smiled at what he said next. “But, according to Teba, dad knew of my passion of music and encouraged it. He never told me he knew because he wanted to wait until I was ready to tell him. As it turns out, dad was the one who constucted my accordion. With help from my teacher, Ongaku, of course.”
“Dad...knew? And he wasn’t disappointed?” Wareta asked, surprised.
Kass shook his head. “It sure seems like that, at least.”
I can also totally see Amali and Saki bonding with Wareta with absoulute girl power energy. They are sister in laws after all.
“Neither of you are warriors?”
Amali and Saki both shook their heads.
“No, I am merely a simple shop keeper.” Amali told her. “While Saki here is a healer.”
“I’m assuming you are a warrior because your father, Gomi, was once a warrior?” Saki inquired.
“I...suppose so.” Wareta admitted.
“That was to be suspected” Amali said. “I mean considering how lowly Kaneli spoke of him. He said Gomi’s attentions were quite clear when he stole you.”
Wareta blinked in surpise. “Stole me? What are you talking about? Father said he was banished from the village and took me with him out of fear of what they would do to me being his offspring.”
Amali and Saki’s eyes widened in surprise.
“You don’t know?”
Amali and Saki told Wareta everything they knew about the truth of her disappearance. Wareta went to Kaneli to confirm this who explained everything in more detail. Furious, Wareta left the village to confront her “father”.
“How could you lie to me?!” Wareta cried. “How could you tell me all those awful things about the Rito, about my family?!”
Gomi growled. “I merely told you the important things. The things you needed to know to become the fine warrior you wanted to be.”
“No, not what I wanted. What YOU wanted!” Wareta yelled. “I cannot believe how many seeds you planted into me to turn me into someone I didn’t want to be! No wonder the Rito hate you! You’re nothing but a spineless cucco, not them!”
“Are you saying you regret my teachings?! You deny all the sacrifices I made for you?!” Gomi yelled.
Wareta grunted, collected her things, and marched out of the cave she couldn’t believe she would ever call home.
Gomi growled and tried to stop her. “Where are you going?!”
“Back to my family. My real family.” Was all Wareta said before flying away.
Wareta returned to Rito Village and never returned to Gomi, that was the last anyone had seen him as the cave was completely empty when others went to look for him. All Wareta wanted was to be able to start over. Teba and Kass knew a good place to start.
“So this...is Vah Medoh?”
Teba and Kass nodded.
Wareta stared up at the divine beast, unsure of what to do or say. “Can...can he...see us?”
“We like to believe so, yes.” Kass answered, smiling.
“We often come here to talk to him. Though his soul is no longer trapped in Medoh, this is where we feel the most in touch with him.” Teba explained.
Wareta nodded and turned back to Vah Medoh. “Uh...hello dad? It’s um...it’s Wareta. I know it’s been years since you’ve seen me, but...I’m sure you’re happy to know that I have returned.”
Wareta look down and frowned. Kass walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. “Believe me, dad is so happy to see you after all this time.”
Teba nodded in agreement. “Knowing him, he probably already knew you were coming.”
If the siblings would’ve looked up at Vah Medoh’s head, they would’ve seen Revali, completely abondoning his pride and crying tears of joy.
Wareta lived the rest of her days in Rito Village, opting to spend more time with her family. Though she never completely abandoned being a warrior, she actually became a teacher. Her nieces and nephew helped her understand how to take care of children. The only regret that Wareta has is not returning home sooner.
Bonus;
Wareta: So, you’re the Hylian dad fell for after Gomi left him?
Link: Yep!
Wareta: Well he did fall for Gomi at one point, so it was to be expected he had low standards.
Link: Hey!

I'd like love headcanons about the new champions. Specifically like how they would interact with their Divine Beasts, how they would socialize with the Champions' spirits, and how they interact with Zelda. I love your blog by the way, it's so creative and I love your stories!
Thanks a bunch! Sorry this took a bit, I had a ton of ideas for the Divine Beasts…
Anyway, let’s get into some
New Gen Champion Headcanons!
So Hyrule is saved and now we just got a bunch of giant mechanical beasts laying around
What to do, what to do…
No one can seem to really control the Divine Beasts as it requires a telekinetic connection, and the beasts have to recognize someone’s soul and spirit as worthy…yada-yada
Even Link was cheating a bit, as he only controlled the terminals of the Beasts with his Sheikah Slate. He didn’t have the power to actually tame them, he could only just tilt them around a bit. Hylia knows Link doesn’t need four giant machines capable of causing mass destruction anyway
Zelda, as usual, takes the initiative to find a solution. Who better to tame these Divine Beasts than the ones who helped defeat them!
Enter, the New Champions
Sidon was excited when Ruta responded to him. I mean, such a creature had judged his sister Mipha worthy of commanding it. So the fact that he could also control Vah Ruta resonated with him, as it meant that maybe he could live up to his sister…
Of course, some of the older Zora, including his father, were wary, considering the Divine Beasts were so closely linked with Mipha’s death
But Sidon is determined, he wants to be useful and help Link (aw) and all of Hyrule. He’ll convince everyone that it’s his duty as a noble to help everyone with the Divine Beast.
“Besides, my sister will be watching over me!”
Sidon and Ruta very helpful whenever there’s droughts or a bad harvest. People don’t even need to report anything. Sidon and Ruta just instinctively know if people need rain.
And Ruta does have a mind of her own. She (yeah we’re using she for all the beasts, like boats, ya know?) is sort of playful and just randomly splashes water on Sidon every now and then.
I also like to think the trunk doubles as a speaker, and Sidon just blasts music whenever he feels like it
It seem Yunobo was the only one bewildered that Rudania responded to him’
“W-what?! Why me? All I did was tag along with Link and headbut it a few times…”
It would take some convincing from the elders that he was up for the job
“Nonsense kid. You did what none of us could do. You’re the one who tackled that old lizard head on! Plus, you’re graced with Daruk’s protection. You helped save Goron City, You got this, brother!”
So Yunobo became a Champion, able to tame Divine Beast Vah Rudania. He’s a bit flustered with this new found fame, but he gets through it. After all, the whole ordeal with Link has made him a bit braver
I like to think Rudania’s personality is serious, an all work no play kind of guy. Purely because it clashes with the personality of both Daruk and Yunobo so much. (Hc that’s why Daruk was struggling with his Divine Beast originally)
Rudania moves on their own, without Yunobo’s input sometimes, so they can move out of the way of falling rocks and stuff. The lizard acts like a big old grump
Anyway, the Goron mining business is BOOMING, literally. Those turrets and drones that Rudania has? Super helpful when scanning dangerous areas by Death Mountain, and for identifying valuable ore.
Also Rudania’s fireproof-ness is great on checking on how active the volcano is, a super helpful asset under a slightly anxious Goron youth. Fun!
Teba takes up the job, no questions asked. No one’s that surprise that the best warrior is the successor for the Divine Beast, but he cares a lot about living up to Revali’s legacy. He gets Medoh to respond immediately, and he’s probably the most skilled out of the four new champions with his beast.
However, it takes time for him to warm up, to Medoh. The thing almost killed his best friend, and shot a laser at him after all. Teba does what’s necessary to maintain Medoh, and nothing more.
Vah Medoh basically is a mama bird. It uses its Sheikah tech to keep the inside toasty for whenever Teba comes, she glows warmly in the night, even the propellers are used to blow fast gusts of wind to help Rito get places fast.
Eventually, Teba gets along with Medoh when he practices archery with Tulin on Medoh’s back. The updrafts of the grates there are even better and faster than the natural ones at the flight range.
Vah Medoh’s cannons/turrets are helpful when dealing with the numerous monsters near the Hebra Range. Talus? Gone. Ice Lizalfo camp? Obliterated. Hinox? Dead. This part is probably something Teba enjoys too, he’s a warrior first and foremost anyway, so dealing with monsters so easily boosts his ego, just a bit.
Everyone was ecstatic for Riju. Everyone, especially Bularia, is so proud. Look at all those achievements under her belt! Youngest Chief, has a sand seal prophet, defeated Vah Naboris, oversaw the reclamation of the Thunderhelm and the Yiga Clan Hideout (although that last one was mostly Link, but no one knows that because, he’s a guy, scandalous)
Riju works well enough with her Divine Beast, the Thunder Helm pairs well, and she feels like she’s growing into it anyway.
Naboris is a show off. Stomping for no reason, hanging out in thunderstorms and sandstorms just to look cool? Yes. And Riju plays along with this because what kids doesn’t wanna look cool with a giant mecha beast? With Naboris, Chief Riju is starting to outgrow her fears of being seen as a bad leader, cause a Divine Beast is a pretty good testament to how hard you work for your people. (Aw, her mom would be proud)
Let’s talk about those Electric Generators. This Divine Beast can harness energy from the earth? And has natural electrical systems? So, so, helpful not just for the desert, but for everyone in general. Naboris’ electrical power is used to power other machines and technology, allowing for heating, water systems, lights, the whole sha-bang. And the fact that there’s a lightning rod to attract the lightning, which not only keeps people safe, but harnesses the natural elements of the land? *chef’s kiss*
You bet your ass Zelda hangs out with Naboris a lot too, reverse engineering portable electricity could help all of Hyrule get back on their feet. I’m talking Industrial Revolution baby, (but without the exploitation of the working class and poverty, ya know, only the good stuff)
But besides that, Riju uses Naboris to navigate the desert. You don’t need to worry about sandstorms and such when you’ve basically got a walking house. It’s lights also serve as good waypoints for travelers, or beacons for those that are lost.
Now as for the original Champions…. Well the ending of botw was pretty clear that they had passed on. They sorta disappear…cause they found peace…and all that. I know the point of fanfic is to ignore canon and create your own endings and ideas, but if I got into how I think the Champions would be revived this would be a much longer post, lol.
So we’ll just leave it at, everyone happy. Hyrule is prospering, Zelda and Link are leading a new generation of Champions and helping the people of the land. Everyone gets together and has a sleepover and Link’s house every now and again. And Teba adopts everyone because he is basically the only adult. Yay!
