The last week of September was a blast.

Friday night Anjunabeats finally came and went. Met up with viv to pregame at her house. Pulled up to republic to link up with lico, peter and christian. it was a mellow vibe for sure till the alcohol hit viv. She was all katsu by 1030pm so we took her home. Her husband was laughing cause we only left the house an hour ago before coming back, he said “did you guys even go to the event yet??” LOOOL. Lico and me then came back to replublic to catch the ending sets. Got home around 2 then crashed out on the ground fully dressed stil.

Saturday night we ran it back to back hard with RiotTen at HawaianBrians and bro it was intense. Christian met up with me since he picked up a ticket last minute. I was hungover from anjunabeats so it was a light drinking type of night. 11pm and the house was packed elbow to elbow, wall to wall. Mosh pit got shutdown from security multiple times. Someone’s gold chain snapped and fell. The ground was absolutely wet from everyone in the crowd and the air lingered of Vicks. As much as chris was throwing down face melting beats I left half an hour before it was over to skip the parking exit chaos. Wore my red vans and it was a life saver!

It’s currently October with some fun Dj’s coming down to Hawaii. Diplo/Zhu, Morgan page, side piece and even seven lions. I didn’t pick up tickets yet but maybe something last minute? You know from FOMO 😭.

Can't get out of my head the fact that almost for the entirety of episode 6 Viktor is seen fiddling with this one gear, one side corrupted and the other clean. How it's so similar to that one gear way back then, in Act 1 of Season, that Jayce flicked at him through the Hextech orb, when their Hextech dream seemed so close at hand, awe and wonder bursting from them.

I saw people discussing this on twitter: it took less than a year from the start of filming season 1 to it airing (December to early October), and Rolin said that the strike pushing things back meant they had to film the second season in hours with less darkness and that was difficult, so I would THINK they would try to film season 3 late this year or early next year (even if flashbacks to human Lestat mean they film in daylight sometimes, most of the season would still be nighttime)...so they certainly COULD release the season in late 2025, and wouldn't autumn 2025 make sense? I could also see early 2026, but it just seems like they wouldn't want to do two years between seasons every time (really early 2026 would be more like 18 months). Rolin says they are thinking of possibly 5 more seasons -- they can't anticipate taking ten years for that?? Wouldn't 12-15 months between seasons make more sense?

I'm also wondering about what Rolin said about figuring out if they want to split TVL into two seasons, depending on what they might pull from other books. I want them to have enough time to tell whatever story they want to tell, and it really does sound like Rolin feels fully supported by AMC -- I'm kind of hoping they do it in one season with 10 episodes, but hey, if they can do it in eight or decide to split it in two, then cool.

Autumn next year would make the most sense! Rolin renewing his multi-year deal with AMC weeks prior to the announcement of the s3 order, and even seeming pretty confident about s3 at the 92NY panel back in April too makes me think a lot of things have probably been in train for longer than it seems. It makes me wonder how far along they are in the writing process (if they've even formally started! Which I kinda suspect they have given Rolin's been openly talking about him and Daniel working on the songs already.)

Newsreader s3 is supposed to be airing in early 2025, so the one thing about starting late 2024 would be you'd probably have a bit of a stop-start given they'd wrap for the holidays and then would, I imagine, need to release Sam for his press commitments, but then Australia usually pays dust to marketing and publicity lol, so it might not be as much of an issue as the reverse was (I'm pretty sure I heard through the grapevine that they were doing re-shoots for Newsreader when Sam had to head to the US for his IWTV press obligations).

I've been wondering about whether or not they'll split TVL as well. It's interesting though because TVL and Queen of the Damned really are a duology within the broader series, so I also kind of wonder if they might do something like adapt the two books over three seasons, which I think would probably make a lot of sense? There's so many new characters across the two books, and while I think they balanced the expanded role of Armand, and the introductions of Madeleine and the Paris Coven really well in s2, we'd also lost almost every character except the leads after s1. Both TVL and QotD introduce a lot of new supporting characters, many who are going to stick around in various capacities like Gabrielle, Marius and David (although I do kind of wonder if they're merging Daniel and David's characters, given the way certain things are shaping up), and being able to spread them out a bit as they've already been doing with s1 and s2 could give them a bit more breathing room.

also the Rock spinning the story SO hard to make himself look so gracious and humble and him being the genius behind the pivot like he didn't try to take Cody's moment away from him just because he wanted all the attention instead.

also Triple H confirming CM Punk was supposed to win the Rumble and go to Mania but his tricep injury derailing that is wild. can't imagine what a shit show that was behind the scenes.

here's hoping for Punk vs. Drew at WM 41!
