Artwork completed for @ferarepairweek. This was for Day 2, and I went with "Jewelry".

Considering this ship started off as a sort of bittersweet and contrarian crackship, I've actually become extremely fond of Faye and Rinea as a pairing and this is now one of my favorite FE ships. I've seen some other artists and writers make art/writing for this ship too, which has been really fun to see! As my original FE rarepair, these two had to show up at least once. (I'm trying to do a different ship every day, although I wasn't able to complete all 7 artworks...)

Localizers' Dance in Purgatory

Happy anniversary. We're doing this again.

FE15's localization has been a hot button topic on twitter for the past couple of days, which made me want to examine some more localization changes - and what better for me to use for this experiment than my other favorite scenes in the game? Having noticed that the anniversary of when I posted about that scene with Alm and Mycen was coming up, I figured the timing was just too good to pass up.

We'll be going over Alm and Berkut's encounter up until the battle officially starts, Berkut's battle dialogue, and the scene after with Rinea's spirit. So rather than having one big moment that changes the tone of the scene like last time, this one has a few of these changes along with MANY smaller expansions on dialogue that just make it too much of a pain to go through one by one. Some of these are more contentious than others!

Luckily I have a solution for this: Pour everything into a spreadsheet and throw in commentary as I see fit.

I had to write out a lot of things by hand even if I was able to copy the scripts from elsewhere so I'm so sorry for any typos 🙏 Enjoy!

Berkut and Rinea are so sweet if you take the issues out of them because they clearly adored and loved each other, but... ngl, there's also something so compelling about how fucked up they are in the actual story.

"You're mine so when I tell this corrupted god to take anything he wants from me because I have nothing else to offer, he chooses you", and "you survived this experience where I did not, but I love you and you love me, so I'm dragging you with me to death so we can be together".

Something fascinating is going on there.
