Sakumo being a super popular borderline sex symbol in his era will never stop being my favorite hc, I need to see more of it
All the people his age and younger had a crush on him. It was just a Thing(tm) where 9 times out of 10, a Konoha shinobi's first crush was probably Sakumo. Even other villages young shinobi hung up his bingo book picture above their bunk and dreamed of both killing him, being killed by him (in a hot way), having a battlefield fling with him, and more. There was blackmarket fanfiction. He was incredibly popular among civilians all over fire country. Some popular romance novels had love interests very blatantly based off him.
Even before they were on a team together, Obito and Rin both had a silly kid crush on Kakashi's dad (Obito more than Rin) and he was aware of it. This did not help make him like them any more. (By the time hearing smthn positive ab his dad would have made Kakashi softer, they'd both gotten better at hiding the crush, so to Kakashi it looked like they'd gotten over Sakumo.) Even Minato had a bit of a thing for him, not really but like— strong, popular, feard and very friendly ninja who is now paying him some attention (bc hes his kids teacher) he's not immune. Kushina understands, she is also not immune. (Kakashi is going to throw a fucking fit)
Even after his failed mission, when his reputation crashes and burns within the village, he still can't completely shake his admirers— they possibly just get more disrespectful ab the attraction when it mixes with the hate. (Which tbh could make for an interesting discussion all on its own)
Kakashi is haunted by his father's insane popularity for decades after his death. He does his very best to ignore the lingering evidence of people being insane ab his father.
One day he realizes one of his favorite romance novels has a romance interest based off Sakumo and has a break down ab it and can never read the series again.
When raiding an old abandoned enemy camp w Team Ro, he finds an old, autographed photo of his dad covered in lipstick marks in the communal bathroom. He chooses to ignore it but it's quickly spotted by his teammates, who do not know who Sakumk is, and v quickly begin to remark on the poster, who this mysterious Konoha nin is, and ahaha damn he is kinda good looking, huh? (Kakashi wants to DIE)
Shisui ends up taking the poster back to Konoha with them and hangs it up in the ANBU communal quarters where it is VERY quickly recognized. And also some of the people in that room recognize it so quick bc they also used to own a similar poster. (Kakashi wants to DIE someone PLEASE kill him now)
Its only when he's given team 7 that he finally thinks he's escaped the legacy of his father as Konoha's Most Sexiest Shinobi. Only for Naruto, when being trained by Jiriyah, to find his drafts for Icha Icha very clearly inspired by his dad. Which he can never publish for multiple reasons (lingering respect for Sakumo. Also for Kakashi, who is his biggest fan and would probably never look at him again.)
Naruto somehow accidentally brings this up with Kakashi who like. Has war flashbacks and immediatley stands up and walks away as Jiryah scrambles to try to explain himself and Tsunade looks on in scorn (she will approach him later to carefully ask for the drafts while trying to seem like she's not really asking for them bc she's too proud to admit it)
Naruto and Sakura discover Kakashi-sensei's dad was a sex symbol. I don't even know how they'd react but like. Oh my god. Oh my god you guys.
Funniest option would be they accidentally revive his popularity a little bit by being so loud ab it they like, remind people ab him. + introduce another generation to the idea of him
Kakashi is crouched on the floor with his face in his hands. When will he be freed from this hell.
Sasuke does not escape tho, he goes to sound and finds a picture of Sensei's dad in Orochimaru's office (???????)
This is such a shitty sketch but the vision:
Itachi, who learned who Sakumo was from that poster thing, goes on to find a photo of him in ""Madara's"" belongings and gets super weirded out but ultimately doesn't. Super care. But also. Like. What. What.
After Itachi finds the photo, which Obito genuinley forgot he fucking had and keeps in part just bc its like one of the only belongings that remained from his Konoha days, he shoves it somewhere in Kamui to forget about.
But then in the Obito vs Kakashi Kamui fight, it fucking flutters down in the middle of the fight and Obito fucking dies of humiliation as Kakashi realizes he will truly Never Escape and that this reality is his own personal hell
Uhh endgame Kakashi becomes Hokage and accidentally retreads his father's path in becoming the new Konoha Sexy Man. Which simultaneously crushes him (he will never escape) and fills him with delight (he will now be able to impart the pain of having your father figure be lusted after by all ur friends and acquaintances onto his students)

PART FOUR: POPCORN AND GREEN TEA
perfectionism | prev | next
You tapped your foot on the pavement, anxious to finally meet the eyes of your old friend. The feeling of excitement was almost overwhelming all your senses, the only thing you could focus on was the plain, faded brown door in front of you. Quickly, you sent Suna a text to let him know of your arrival, however in the corner of your eye, you suddenly noticed two figures approaching. You shrugged it off, thinking that it was just two guys passing by on a walk, but rather than walking past the house, they stepped up the driveway slowly drawing near you.
Hearing Ennoshita's words in your mind about being aware of your surroundings, you discreetly glanced back observing the two. But, much to your surprise, it was the exact two guys who bombarded you at the supermarket yesterday. Well, actually, more like the one blond who smashed a shopping cart into your heel, blubbering apologies and looking away, while the other one stood there and watched the whole incident play out.
You watched them for what seemed like forever. Could they possibly be Suna's friends? No, the whole thing seemed too coincidental, surely that couldn't be the case. Not willing to take the chance, you took out your phone once more in hopes to get Suna to clarify that those were, indeed, not his friends. Unfortunately for you, it appeared that the universe had decided to make you a pawn in its game because the two of them were, indeed, his friends.
You let out a heavy sigh, you could already tell that the next few hours would be nothing but awkward stares and embarrassing conversations. Not wanting to ruin your one day of freedom- the one day where you didn't have to listen to your dad's constant yells, telling you how much of a disappointment you are- the one day where you didn't have to sit in front of the piano all day just to feel some sort of gratification. It was then that you decided to just ignore the situation, and pretend as if the blond wasn't the reason that the back of your foot was wrapped in a bandage. For all Suna knew, this was you guys' first encounter, so be it.
Right as the door opened, your eyes were drawn to the tall green-eyed boy who you used to spend every day with as a young kid. "Y/N, so glad you're here!" Suna smiled, as he went in for a quick hug. "Those two behind you are Atsumu and Osamu." He introduced, pointing to the two that were now directly behind you. The blond looked absolutely horrified, stealing brief glimpses at the bandage that hugged your heel, the other one, however, stared back with a nonchalant smile. "They may have almost the same face, but the one with the ugly piss-colored hair is Atsumu, and the normal looking one is Osamu."
You grinned back at the two, showcasing your brightest smile, hoping that they'd get the message to not bring up the fact that this was not your first encounter. You were going to introduce yourself to the two, but the blond seemed to beat you to cut. "How come Samu is the normal one?" He whined.
Suna snickered, "Because Osamu doesn't act like a dramatic brat who needs his hand held every damn second of the day."
Suna's blunt words made you softly chuckle, there was something in friendly banter that just made it so pure and innocent. You looked up at the two, noticing that the blond's expression had softened after hearing your giggles. With the brief moment of silence at hand, you decided to take this as the moment to introduce yourself. "I'm Y/N, it's nice to meet you Atsumu and Osamu."
"Well now that we got introductions out of the way, why don't we go inside and find something to do," Suna suggested.
"Rinny, can we watch a movie?" You asked excitedly. The last time you had watched a movie was when you hung out with Nishinoya, Tanaka, and Ennoshita before leaving Miyagi, and your dad hardly ever let you engage in anything other than school work or piano, making it a rare treasure.
Suna nodded, "Watching a movie it is."
As all of you entered the house, you couldn't help but hear the blond, Atsumu mutter to his brother, "If I called 'm Rinny I think he'd punch me on the spot."
A smile quickly reappeared on your face as you heard his brother respond, "I don't know, I'll give ya one thousand yen to put it to the test."
"No, I think I'll choose life," He giggled.
You found your way to the couch and swiftly pulled out your phone, eager to let your friends know your current situation. The whole scene sounded like something straight out of a book.
You clicked your phone off and turned your attention to the aroma that seemed to be emerging from the kitchen. The familiar scent, caramel popcorn and green tea, jogged an almost forgotten memory of your childhood. An unlikely duo, yet even as a child you couldn't get enough of the weird combination. No one would've ever thought to put the two together, but it just worked.
You almost laughed at the sight. Suna walked out of the kitchen juggling three bowls of caramel popcorn, three bottles of energy drinks, and, of course, your mug of green tea. Since he had such little grace, you got up and lent a helping hand. "No, no you're my guest and you're injured go sit back down," Suna scolded.
"Well it's too late, I'm already here, so I'll just take some of that off your hand," You said while grabbing the mug of tea and the three energy drinks. You walked over to the twins and handed them each their bottle.
"Say what happened to yer foot over there?" Osamu asked with a smirk on his face.
"Oh yeah you never told me what you did to your foot, Y/N," Suna added as he placed the remaining bowls on the side table.
"It's not a big deal I just scraped myself with glass while unpacking," You blurted. You hoped that the lie was convincing enough, but to be honest, scraping yourself with glass sounded way more believable than being run over with a shopping cart.
"I see, sorry to hear that," Osamu responded in an almost surprise-like manner. You thought that maybe he expected you to call out his brother, however you decided to stick with your initial decision of ignoring the situation to save your night from awkwardness. His expression only got more surprised as he realized the unusual food combination you were eating. For only eating caramel popcorn with green tea, he looked as if you were committing a crime against food.
"Green tea with caramel popcorn?" He asked.
With no shame you nodded your head. "Don't knock it until you try it, it's my favorite combo in the world. I can never get enough of it."
Suna sighed, "Yeah, it's no use to convince her otherwise it's been more than a solid seven years since i last saw her and she still likes it."
The night ended almost as quickly as it started. Although you were initially worried about it being awkward, your worries were soon rested once Osamu started explaining his love of cooking. You both talked endlessly about all sorts of sweets and savory foods you both enjoyed indulging in. However, his twin, on the other hand, barely talked as he aimlessly played around with his phone.
Your eyes noticed the time on the nearby clock, the numbers displaying that it was near midnight. Your stomach instantly knotted, if your dad wasn't asleep, you for sure were going to get an ear full when you arrived home. You picked up your phone, and smiled at Suna and Osamu who's chest softly rose up and down as they slept.
You stood up quietly, getting Atsumu's attention. You didn't expect him to do or say anything since he'd been quite dull the entire night, but it seemed like this was a night of surprises. "Yer not planning to go all the way to the bus stop by yerself now are ya?" He asked.
"Well I'm not waking either of them so they can escort me if that's what you're asking," you responded "But, you're more than welcome to join me if it'll put your mind at ease." You fully expected him to not care, however he grabbed his jacket next to him and stood up, walking over to where you stood by the front door.
He quietly opened the door, careful to not make a creaking noise. "After you," He said as he directed you out of the house. The crisp winter air hit your face, your whole body jolted from the sudden change of temperatures. "Don't suppose yer cold now?" He asked, probably noticing your shivering. You replied by shaking your head and continued on the trail to the bus stop.
The rest of the walk was mostly silent, neither one of you knowing what to say. This was definitely uncharacteristically of Atsumu, anyone who'd even slightly know him would expect him to be chatting your ear off with overdramatized commentary. However, things seemed to be different in this situation, there was an eerie feeling about you that he couldn't quite put his finger on. Of course, it didn't help that your first encounter with him was him, in fact, running a shopping cart into you, but it wasn't just that. Maybe it was the way you presented yourself, in an almost sickening sweet-like manner. It all felt artificial, like a facade.
"Well this is it," you said, snapping him out of his thoughts, "Just in time for the last bus, thanks for walking with me." You turned around to enter the vehicle but before you could, a hand made its way to your arm. You immediately flinched at the contact, pulling away at the light hold he had on you.
"I'm sorry I just- i um," He started, trying to find a way to word what he wanted to say. "I wanted to say that 'm sorry for yesterday, it was kind of a shitty thing to do, and 'm also sorry for not really talking all that much today, ya seem really nice and I'm usually not this bad when it comes to meeting new people. And, I totally ruined the night by ignoring you I-"
You lightly laughed, "It's alright, plus any friend of Rin's, is a friend of mine, and you didn't ruin tonight at all, I thought it was perfect." You both smiled back at each other, not saying anything for a moment. You cleared your throat, "Um, I'll see you around, have a good night, Atsumu."
He watched as you entered the bus. A small smile made it on his face as he watched you wave goodbye from the bus window. He waved back and muttered under his breath, "Good night, Y/N."
The bus ride was only about ten minutes. Anxiously, you opened the door to your house, hoping that by some miracle your dad would be sound asleep. The old door slightly creaked, you peaked inside and all your worries flushed away as you saw your dad passed out on the couch. Granted he was passed out drunk, at least that's what you gathered by the four bottles of empty beer that laid at his feet.
Even for you, life wasn't as perfect as it seemed. As much as you wanted it to be, as much as you led people on to think that it was, it just wasn't. The worst part of it was that deep down, you felt accountable for it all. Maybe if you would've been just a little better at piano, you could've achieved your perfect life.
You reached your bedroom and exhaustedly plopped down on your bed. You glanced at the picture of your mother on your bedside table. Her long hair glided down her lavender dress, her face gleaming with a smile. In one hand she held her violin and the other held an award deeming her the best violinist in the nation. She was talented, beautiful, intelligent, and made your dad happy. She was absolutely everything you weren't, and your dad made sure to remind you everyday.
Life before she died was perfect. You could never recall a memory of you being sad around her. Before you closed your eyes, you whispered, "I wish I was perfect like you."
fun facts !
Whenever Atsumu doesn't know how to address a situation, he just goes on his phone and plays angry birds.
If you're ever bored, Osamu will talk forever about all the different ways you can cook the same recipe.
Suna can never stay awake during a movie night, he always falls asleep somehow.
Before getting into volleyball, the twins' mother tried to get them into violin, however that quickly failed once Atsumu broke his bow on the second day of lessons.

Drunken Night
Kiss Me
a/n: you (y/n Kageyama, yes youre related to tobio) and Iwaizumi go out for drinks one night and you run off. Where to? To get railed in a car :) Come to find out your friends know your mystery man.
You’re sitting on a bench in front of your school waiting for Suna. You hear loud music and continue looking at your phone.
The man in the loud car pulls up in front of you and yells “Hey sexy you need a ride?” The man says with his windows down. You roll your eyes and look up. You smile and grab your bag and walk to his car. “I’m waiting for this cute guy, but ya know he’s running a bit late so I guess I can with you.” “Well come on in princess” You laugh and get in car and kiss his cheek. “Hi Rinnie” He looks at you with a smile “Hi pretty girl”
He puts his hand on your thigh and drives. “Did you pay attention?” “uhhh” He sighs and looks at you “I’m just kidding Rin. I paid attention. Promise!” “Okay good. You gotta pay attention so you can write a book about our love.”
You looked at Suna and smiled. Did he really say “our love”? Are you just overthinking? All the questions running through your head but you get snapped back into reality when Suna lifts his hand off your thigh. “Hey pretty girl. You’re staring” You shake your head a little “Sorry.” “It’s fine” he laughs and puts his hand back onto your thigh making little circles with his thumb.
“Um are we going to my place? Ya know to change.” You ask him. “I was thinking I drop you off at your place then I go change at mine, obviously take a shower because I stink, and then go to yours and take the Kageyama siblings to see their mom. Me tagging along of course”
You put your hand on top of his rubbing your thumb over his slightly red knuckles “Yeah that’s good. Rin sorry but you kinda have to wear a suit it’s gonna be a fancy restaurant” “It’s fine princess. I can wear it a suit for a good two three hours” “Thank you for coming with me... and Tobio” You both lightly laugh. “It’s no big deal.” He looks at you and gives you a quick reassuring smile and looks back at the road “Can I ask something?” You look at him and nod. “Why isn’t your dad coming?” You look at your lap and sigh “He’s uh. Shit.” He grabs your hand “You don’t have to tell me Y/n. I understand trust me.”
“I wanna tell you. He uh. He left when I turned one. Miwa, my older sister, was practically raising us when she was seven. Our grandpa helped but he passed away when Tobs and I were in middle school.” “I’m sorry. I know how it feels. It fucking sucks” “Hey it’s fine. I’m over it now I mean it still gets to me but you know there’s nothing I can do about it.”
“You don’t deserve it. My dad left too. I had to take care of my little sister a lot while my mom was working her ass off. Now he has a big happy family with someone else and my mom and sister are still stuck in the shitty ass house he left us. That’s why I started volleyball. I want to get them out of there.”
“You’re so generous Rin.”
He pulls up to your apartment complex and parks. “I’ll pick you up at 6:30?” He asks. “Yeah that gives me and Tobs enough time.”
He leans over and cups your face with his left hand. “Fuck you’re so beautiful” He whispers as your lips brush his. “Kiss me” You see him smirk “I do owe you kisses” He says and kisses you.
You’re tongues are dancing together. You can taste mint maybe Suna was chewing gum before he picked you up. You roam your hand through his hair and let out a small whine as he starts kissing your jawline. “So eager princess” He says as he presses one last kiss on your lips.
You look at him with a pout, sad that he stopped your little make out session. “Stop with the pouting brat” He says with a laugh as he rubs his thumb over your bottom lip.
“Go you gotta get ready, love” You sigh and give Suna a quick peck on the lips and get out of his car. “Thanks for the ride Keket.” You smile at Rin and he smiles back and drives away once you walk in the apartment complex.

sometimes you write a 4500 word crossover between your naruto au and someone else’s. that’s just how life goes.
so here’s my 4500 word crossover between my naruto au shionverse (minato/oc, fix-it fic with gratuitous amounts of dimensional travel side-stories) and @crescentmoonrider‘s turtle au (kakashi dies; obito and rin say “fuck the system” and end up helping out at least two separate revolutions; meanwhile, in konoha, minato and orochimaru are science bffs)
“Being Shion’s apprentice will be fun,” he thought. “Space-time shenanigans are the most hilarious shenanigans,” he told Kakashi sagely. “I’ll be fine,” he assured Rin.
Obito would like to go back into the past and punch himself for being so fucking stupid.
“This is the third time this month!” he whisper-yells, tugging at his hair in despair. “Why am I so bad at sealwork?! /Why?!/”
Shion is peering at his quick rendering of his beautiful, dysfunctional seal, because sealwork is never kind enough to just follow them into another dimension. At least this time they’re in the same spot as they were before, in their own dimension, but that’s a questionable blessing, considering it’s Tobirama’s backyard. He had barely been born when Shion brought Hashirama and Tobirama back; he has no idea if the house looming behind them is actually Tobirama’s or if he appropriated it from another Senju Clan member.
/These/ things are what he has to concern himself with, now. Gods. Kakashi’s going to laugh at him as soon as they get back.
Tobirama had been /watching them/, too, from the safety of his kitchen. Obito bets that he’s going to finish his breakfast before meandering over to the Hokage Tower to tell Minato that his /spouse and almost-child/ have landed themselves in an entirely different universe.
Shion finally leans back onto their haunches, their forearms resettling on their thighs, and look at Obito. “It’s a very nice design,” they begin, because they /always/ begin with the compliments. “Incorporating the shape of your Mangekyo into the design, while remaining conscious of the Uzumaki spirals—it’s inspired. If you can make it work, it’s going to be a pretty piece of sealwork. However…”
Obito tries very hard not to sigh as he crouches down next to them to see the flaws that they’re pointing out.
Maybe he should have asked to shadow Minato during his Hokageship. That’d probably be easier than /this/.
- - -
After Obito has copied out the corrections onto his Correction Scroll, which documents his many failures, they wander out of the Senju Clan compound. It’s been half an hour, or nearly, and no one has come to investigate the presence of two people who should definitely not be here; it’s sort of disappointing.
Though, he thinks, eyeing the overgrowth on the path that in their dimension is kept tidy, maybe that has less to do with shitty security and more to do with an empty compound.
He makes a mental note to talk to Minato about it, just in case it really /is/ shitty security. With all the time they spend criticizing alternate universe Konohas, they really need to make sure that they have room to talk.
The landscape of every Konoha is a little different, even the Hokage Mountain: most of the time, it’s the four that he is familiar with—Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, and Minato—but sometimes there are additions, like Jiraiya as the Godaime, or substitutions, like Orochimaru as the Yondaime.
(No one talks about those dimensions, much. After hearing about how /their/ Orochimaru cut open Shion’s resurrections to see how close they are to real, alive people, Obito thinks that he understands. There are some things that you don’t want your mind to dwell on—things that you thought you knew would never happen, but did.)
In this dimension, there are no surprises on the Hokage Mountain. As they walk through the streets, passing from residential to commercial, Obito can pick out the familiar structures: there’s the convenience store with Saki’s favorite pudding cups; there’s the Mokuton-flush park that Kakashi’s pack loves so much; there’s the bakery that sells Yondaime cheesecakes.
He wonders if they still sell them, here. The current Hokage might not be the Yondaime.
As if sensing his thoughts, Shion nudges his ribs with an elbow and nods their head at a mysticism shop. “They bought the property from candlemakers two months ago.”
So Minato made it past his usual time of death. Obito perks up, at that: it’s always kind of fun to see Minato a decade into his Hokageship. It was alarming, the first time, to see him so overworked and /old/, and it’s still kind of sad to look at him if he’s a widower, but the dimensions where Minato is Hokage are usually better than dimensions where Hiruzen is.
That’s not really that hard to do, though, when compared to the guy who lets someone experimenting on Konoha’s clanless orphans go and who allows his old friend to continue recruiting children into an army sealed into obedience to someone other than the military leader of Konoha.
Honestly. Minato would actually have to /try/ to be worse.
- - -
He just /had/ to jinx it, didn’t he?
They’ve entered some weird dimensions, but this one is by far the most unsettling: Minato is Hokage, and that doesn’t actually seem to be a good thing.
As per their usual protocol, Shion and Obito snooped around a bit to check on the status of Konoha before deciding whether or not to approach the current Hokage. Konoha didn’t appear terribly beleaguered, in spite of several important missing chakra signatures (Obito isn’t here, and neither are Rin or Kakashi) and in spite of Orochimaru apparently being a jounin-sensei, so they went, “Eh, looks good enough,” and went and booked a meeting with the Hokage.
Obito is really, really regretting it.
It’s not that Minato thinks they’re actually very terrible spies instead of dimensional travelers. It’s that Minato’s grief is—weird. In most dimensions, where Minato’s ability to demolish an entire army by himself only happens once and only then during a war, Minato carries his grief with him like a smothering shroud, weighing him down. This dimension’s Minato has tapped into the more active side of grief, like it’s a path that he’s digging with other people’s graves.
Minato looks at him like a ghost, like he’s something lost, like he would kill the Shinigami to bring him back. It’s the sort of expression that’s at home on Shion’s face, during their darkest moments, but Obito has only ever seen Minato wear it once, during the Third War and speaking to a gore-covered Shion.
He doesn’t know how to feel about this look being leveled at him now.
“You saved him,” Minato says, to Shion, without taking his eyes off of Obito. “How?”
Obito sneaks a glance at his shishou. It’s a difficult question to answer without sounding callous—/I went back for him/ is tough to swallow when nearly every Minato they’ve met hadn’t.
Shion’s eyes shutter, for a moment, in the barely-longer-than-a-blink way of closing their eyes that Minato does, but it’s the only real sign of their discomfort. “You want to know if there was something you could’ve done,” they say, their voice even, measured. “There wasn’t. You do the same thing, every time.”
Minato’s face does a funny thing, like he wants to make an expression but doesn’t know which, and he rubs his cheek with his palm, finally looking away from Obito. Obito lets out a breath that he didn’t know that he was holding. “And the others?” Minato asks. “Kakashi, Rin—they’re safe, in your timeline?”
“Our timelines diverged much earlier than Kannabi Bridge,” Shion replies after a small pause. “Certain events may remain constant, but the players and outcomes vary.”
Obito has never been in a dimension where all three of Minato’s students die. It’s far more likely that this dimension’s Obito is out there somewhere, plotting the end of the world under the early guidance of Madara, but when he opens his mouth to tell Minato so, something stops him. It’s not that he doesn’t trust Minato—even if this isn’t /his/ Minato, it’s still /a/ Minato—but…
But he has the feeling that if he tells Minato that his dimension’s Obito is still alive, it will be tantamount to signing that Obito’s death warrant.
Minato would never hurt him. He /knows/ that. That doesn’t stop his skin from crawling, and it doesn’t stop his danger-sense from going haywire.
He is a shinobi before he is Minato’s student. He listens to his instincts. So he shuts his mouth and lets Shion keep the lead on this one, because if anyone’s an expert on Minato, even a Minato that lets Orochimaru have a genin team, it’s them.
(He still can’t shake off his anxiety until they are allowed to leave his office.
There is something /wrong/ here, and he is afraid to name it.)
- - -
They’re not slammed into the T&I cells. They’re let go after Minato is done interrogating them, with the implicit knowledge that they will be supervised for the duration of their stay. It’s reasonably lenient; Obito tries to pretend that it isn’t a hidden noose.
In their hotel room, after clearing it to make sure there are no bugs of any variety and slapping down a silencing seal, Shion sinks onto the corner of their bed and puts their face in their hands. Very quietly, they say, “We should have remembered that anyone can be an enemy.”
Obito’s nerves, already frazzled, leap straight to fraying. “But it’s /Minato-sensei/,” he insists, pushing off the chair at the desk to pace. “He can’t—he wouldn’t—”
“Minato does not always arrive on time,” Shion reminds him, “and anyone outside of our timeline is not an ally just because our version of them is.” They run their hands through their hair, fingers meeting at the nape of their neck, and let out a breath before sitting up, hands dropping to their lap. “We’ve gotten complacent. We need to be more thorough about information-gathering. If all three of you are presumed dead in this world…”
Generally, when people are assumed dead, they /are/ dead. Madara and Obito are the only consistent exceptions to that rule. Obito doesn't know how to feel about the idea that Rin or Kakashi might be playing dead, too. "I'll find their files," he says, feeling out their game plan. "It would've had to have been when Rin became a jinchuuriki, so... find out if their bodies were recovered." He pauses, then, with a kind of perverse cheer: "Oh, man, do you think Bakashi joined the Akatsuki with me?" Shion's mouth tugs at the corner. "It's gotta happen /sometime/. Maybe we'll get lucky and that'll be all this is." "Or maybe," Obito continues, "it's Rin who survived and turned me off the track of evildom, and we're, like, wandering monks who help people wherever we go! And we just avoid Konoha because we… didn't have you to get the compulsion seals off our hearts." His enthusiasm dampens, at that, and he sags against the wall. "Oh, man. Alternate versions of myself are so fucked."
“I would assume that an Akatsuki Kakashi and a wandering monk Rin would also be fucked,” Shion remarks, gently teasing. They crook their fingers at him in invitation, and he goes, lying across their lap with a gusty sigh. Shion makes a soft noise of amusement and begins to card their fingers through his hair. “Who knows? Maybe in this dimension, /you’re/ the good guy.”
Obito closes his eyes, tilting his head toward their hand. Kakashi would make fun of him for seeking positive touch, probably, if Kakashi didn’t do the exact same thing when stressed. “Guess I’m a wandering monk with Rin, then. Bakashi would never be able to convince me to be a good person. He /litters/.”
“I don’t think not picking up dog poop is littering.”
“He doesn’t find trash cans for his water bottles.”
“Oh, is /that/ who it is? Saki’s been complaining about the trash in Senju Park. Kakashi’s going to get himself banned if Saki catches him at it.”
Obito lets out a breath and relaxes. They’re going to figure out what to do and get out of Konoha before any traps are sprung. Everything will be fine.
- - -
In this, at least, he isn’t wrong. Over the course of the next few days, he flicks through a bunch of files in several different offices, committing the contents to memory, and all it takes to escape is a Kamui portal opening into a Uchiha safehouse thirty miles outside of Konoha.
He is never going to be able to thank his long-dead ancestors enough for their relentless paranoia. Uchiha safehouses are a /godsend/.
“Bakashi’s body was the only one recovered,” Obito explains. “He was missing his Sharingan, which points to either a very opportunistic thief or, uh, you know, me taking my eye back. It was definitely me, though, ‘cause…” He grimaces. “There’s, uh, research? On Madara’s body? Which was recovered from his super secret cave after it exploded?”
Shion stares at him for a long, uncomprehending moment. “They… Orochimaru has Madara’s body?”
“It’s all sanctioned, too, as far as I can tell,” Obito affirms. “I got the idea that they’re investigating, uh, death? And how to… delay it? Or stop it altogether?”
Shion’s mouth opens, as if to say something, but they close it without speaking. Their brow creases, and they turn to Konoha’s direction.
“Orochimaru took Team Seven to the Land of Waves,” Obito adds, quieter. “They signed out of Konoha the same day we got there.”
That’s a good thing: if Minato is endorsing Orochimaru’s death-defying research, Obito wants Shion to be as far from Orochimaru as possible. Even in other dimensions, where no one would have reason to know of Shion’s kekkai genkai, it worries him that one day someone /will/. The ability to raise the dead and to mold them into any shape they like—it’s a powerful kekkai genkai, and it’s not one that he wants Orochimaru to know of.
Maybe it’s silly, to be anxious about Orochimaru and Shion in the same place, but—their own Orochimaru played with Shion’s kekkai genkai when Shion was a chuunin, younger than Obito is now, and Obito would really like it if that never happened again.
The line of Shion’s shoulders is tense. They press their lips together, hard, before turning their head away from Konoha. “We should go farther before we stop,” they say after a moment.
Obito nods, accepting the unspoken request to move on from this subject, and opens another portal.
- - -
Moving on from Konoha and Orochimaru means that they’re on to this universe’s Obito and Rin, which is—well. Getting information on them would be easy, if they could figure out where to /go/. Neither Obito nor Rin have Shion’s Hiraishin seals inked on their bodies or Minato’s Hiraishin kunai on their bodies, and they have both been outside of Konoha for over a decade.
“This would be so much easier if our Kamuis led to the same dimension,” Obito complains. “We could’ve just hopped in there and waited til he needed something.”
Shion snorts. “Because /that/ sounds like a good idea that wouldn’t get us mauled by his jinchuuriki teammate.”
“I never said it was a good idea,” Obito points out. “I just said it’d be easier.”
“For a given definition of ‘easier’, sure.” Shion rolls their shoulders back and turns back to the map laid out in front of them, the set of their mouth falling into a grimace. “If you were going to avoid Konoha, where would you go?”
“The Dead Wastes,” Obito replies promptly. As a desert and as an oasis, people can go into the Dead Wastes and never come out. It’s pretty much the best spot for a villain lair, though alternate dimension Obitos never seem to think of it. “Failing that… probably Kiri, or I guess one of the smaller nations. Ame is pretty good at taking in fleeing shinobi, isn’t it?”
Shion hums thoughtfully. “It’s known for taking in refugees, yes. Why Kiri?”
Obito can’t say that it’s because the Mizukage is apparently very susceptible to genjutsu, if the various dimensions they’ve traveled to is any indication, which would be incredibly helpful if he ever wanted to make someone of extreme political import his pawn, so he instead says, “Um, obviously if I was a villain I’d want to have a great first appearance. You met a baby Naruto on a mission to Wave, right? And people almost died?” He doesn’t trip over the name of the Land of Waves, but he does frown, a little, remembering that that’s where Orochimaru is. Still: “That’d be such a great scene for villain-me to orchestrate. It’d really hammer home the kind of life a shinobi has. They’d probably cry.”
Shion lifts their head partway through his explanation to level him with an unimpressed look. "What? You /asked/," Obito defends. "I did," Shion agrees dryly, “though I wasn’t expecting such an /effervescent/ response.”
Obito rolls his eyes. “It’s not /my/ fault that I’d make a fantastic villain.”
- - -
It /is/ his fault that they go to Wave.
They travel most of the way through warp, but they make several stops to bury a Hiraishin tag. It provides a sense of security, Shion says, and Obito gets it, sort of: in order to warp using the Hiraishin, an anchor is needed.
After having Minato as his jounin-sensei, and now a few years into his apprenticeship under Shion, Obito is mostly used to them setting down tags like they think they’ll need to warp to a remote village in the Land of Hot Springs.
Mostly.
“It’s like a trail of breadcrumbs,” Obito groans once they hit the edge of Wave and Shion, predictably, puts down another tag. “All anyone has to do to find us is follow the trail of tags.”
“Are you /sure/ you got your tracking certification?” Shion wants to know. “I don’t think putting down a tag every few villages in a vague diagonal really counts as a trail.”
“A vague diagonal is still a diagonal. It’s a pattern. It’s a trail.”
“You seem very concerned that people are going to discover a dozen tags scattered across the Land of Hot Water and immediately realize that we have gone into Wave. We are going to be out of this dimension altogether by the end of the week.”
“We could also be /dead/ by the end of the week because you /put down a trail/.”
“Maybe if /this/ universe’s Obito ever learned to appreciate trails, we wouldn’t be hoping that he will be enough of a twelve-year-old villain to want to make his grand entrance on Zabuza’s coattails.”
Obito throws his hands into the air with a frustrated /augh!/ “Fine! Whatever! I give up! Leave as many trails as you want! Twelve-year-old villain Obito will be alive because he /didn’t/!”
“That is not necessarily a point in his favor, you realize,” Shion says, amused.
Obito jabs a finger at them. “You say that now, but just wait. We’re gonna be trampling everywhere, leaving Hiraishin tags, and he’s gonna sneak up on us and then we’ll be /dead/ because he’ll assume that Orochimaru made, like, test tube clone babies of him or something! /Just wait!/”
- - -
What actually happens is this:
After ten minutes of inspecting the impoverished village, Obito and Shion come to the conclusion that killing the rich and corrupt is a fully acceptable course of action, and after three days of observation of Gato’s men, they make their move—at the same time as this dimension’s Obito and Rin.
All four of them stop several feet from the entrance of Gato’s hideout and stare at each other in surprise.
The adrenaline has to go /somewhere/, so Obito blurts out, without thinking, “Holy shit, you really /are/ wandering monks!” and claps his hands over his mouth.
He is a little horrified at himself, but he’s not /wrong/. This universe’s Obito has /two/ eyes and one of those monk staffs. This universe’s Rin has a sidecut! Some part of his brain makes a note to bring that up to his Rin when they get home, just in case that’s something she’d be into. It looks good on, like, thirty-year-old her, anyway.
“What,” two-eyed Obito says.
“Oh my god,” sidecut Rin whispers, “he’s, like, sixteen.”
“I’m /seventeen/,” Obito corrects automatically. Kakashi and Rin’s birthdays are months before his, so he endures every winter stoically weathering their teasing about being a year younger than them. He /really/ does not want /alternate selves/ to do the same. “Uh—wow. Are you /avenging/ wandering monks? Are you here to kill Gato for being a corrupt piece of shit?”
Hesitantly, sidecut Rin nods. She is wearing one red glove, and pulls at the end of it, yanking it tighter against her fingers. “I assume you were going to do the same?”
“Oh, yeah, for sure,” Obito confirms. “Cool. Now /this/ is an Obito I can get behind.” He doesn’t /look/ like a villain who wants to destroy the world with the moon. He’s more like the vengeance of the night, sneaking into rich people’s homes to slit their throats while they sleep. Or, he guesses, bludgeoning them with his monk staff.
Shion makes a vague annoyed noise. “I could have sworn I told you not to assume everyone is an ally less than a week ago,” they say, tugging Obito’s sleeve so that he falls back behind them.
He complies, but he huffs about it. “He’s /me/! If I can’t trust myself, who /can/ I trust?”
“Your shishou?” Shion says dryly, which, okay, point.
“Was I ever that peppy in my /life/?” two-eyed Obito whispers to sidecut Rin.
Sidecut Rin leans a little towards him to reply, bemused, “Oh, you /were/. You were /absolutely/ this peppy. Maybe even /worse/.”
“You’re lying,” he accuses her. “I was never that bad. Right? … Right?”
Instead of responding to him, she straightens and, with a clearing of her throat, redirects her attention to Shion and Obito. “We wouldn’t mind your help with Gato, if you’re still interested. Afterwards, we can…” She pauses delicately, sweeping her gaze over Shion (who probably didn’t become a shinobi in this universe) and Obito (who is very recognizably Obito, if a decade younger). “... talk.”
Shion gives them a long look before nodding. “That sounds reasonable.”
Obito sends two-eyed Obito and sidecut Rin a double thumbs-up. Being an avenging wandering monk is a dream that he didn’t even know he had until today, and now he’s /fulfilling it/.
Rin is going to be /so/ jealous when she hears about this.
- - -
Three hours and two dozen dead bodies later, they relocate to two-eyed Obito and sidecut Rin’s camp. It is not especially remarkable, except for how it has a barrier seal and a silencing seal. Sidecut Rin activates both with an ease of familiarity that their Rin lacks; although she wears tags on the strings connecting her overskirt, it still comes as a surprise. Two-eyed Obito nudges the pile of wood in the center of camp with his foot and adds another few branches before blowing fire onto it.
“I /told/ you that looks cool,” Obito tells Shion, feeling strangely satisfied.
Shion rolls their eyes. “I’ll try to be more impressed with your dragon-fire.”
Sidecut Rin smiles briefly, like that exchange is something nostalgic, and gestures for them to take a seat around the fire. “So,” she says, “you look like Obito, you talk like Obito, but this never happened in our past.”
Obito glances at Shion, who shrugs a go-ahead because apparently killing twenty-odd people without turning on each other is enough of a sign that they can be trusted with this much, and shrugs back. “Yeah, our timelines diverged, like, ten years before I was born or something. Tobirama tried to narrow it down to an exact timeframe, but I think he got fed up with the variables and quit.”
“He doesn’t /quit/, he delegates,” Shion corrects. “I think Saki’s cousin is figuring it out now.”
“Right, my mistake.”
“I’m sorry,” Rin says after a pause, “did you say Tobirama?”
“Yep.” Obito nods. They’ve moved easily into Obito’s favorite part of the explanation: the other party’s incredulity, growing until they hit a stage of suspended disbelief. “Senju Tobirama, you know, the Niidaime? Wears the funky faceplate? Looks like he’d sunburn in a second?”
Sidecut Rin and two-eyed Obito exchange a /look/.
“Did… did he not die in your timeline?” two-eyed Obito asks, sounding like he’s regretting the question even as he’s saying it.
“Oh, no, he did,” Obito assures them. “We just brought him back.”
“You what now,” two-eyed Obito says.
He and sidecut Rin exchange another look, longer this time. It’s an entire conversation with only facial expressions: two-eyed Obito’s eyes demand /what the fuck is happening/ and sidecut Rin’s equally agitated stare says /I have no idea, don’t ask me, ask your sixteen-year-old self/. This is, apparently, not what two-eyed Obito wants to hear, because he lets out a breath and runs a gloved hand through his hair.
“Okay, say that we believe you,” two-eyed Obito says, even though it’s obvious that they kind of do. “Why are you /here/? Are you avenging wandering dimension-travelers?”
Obito’s eyes widen. He turns to look hopefully at Shion.
“No,” Shion denies immediately, then amends, “Not until you’re a jounin. /I’m/ not going to be an avenging dimension-traveler, but you can take Tobirama along with you when you’re a jounin.”
Obito pumps his fist into the air. “Yesss. He’s gonna /love/ kicking Madara’s ass again.”
“So you travel dimensions… regularly?” two-eyed Obito tries to clarify.
Obito pulls a card out of his pouch and hands it over. On one side it says KONOHA’S TIME-SPACE DIVISION, with the members’ names below, and on the other side it lists major events that may make it differ from other dimensions.
“No Kyuubi Attack, no Naruto,” sidecut Rin reads aloud from over two-eyed Obito’s shoulder. “All members of Team Minato are…” Her voice trails off, and she reads the rest of the card in silence.
Two-eyed Obito’s eyes flash red, for a moment, possibly checking for genjutsu but maybe memorizing the contents of the card. He looks over at Obito and Shion, mouth pulling downward in a frown. “So you’re… Iekami Shion? I’ve never heard of you.”
Shion lifts a shoulder in a shrug. “I’m usually a civilian or a member of ROOT.”
“Of… what?” sidecut Rin asks.
Obito breathes out an “oh, /man/” and laughs. “Wow. It feels really weird, now, to talk to someone from Konoha who doesn’t know about ROOT. It’s, like, Shimura Danzo’s underground army? He steals kids from orphanages and from their clan grounds and, like, brainwashes them.”
“What,” two-eyed Obito says flatly.
Obito looks at Shion. “You explain. You’re better at it than I am.”
Shion elbows him in the ribs. “You won’t get better if you keep passing it off to me.”
“I’m still your apprentice! You’re /obligated/ to take over when I’m in over my head!”
“/Itachi/ could do this, and he’s /eight/. Do you really want to be outdone by an eight-year-old?”
“That doesn’t count! He’d be a genin if he was allowed to graduate!”
“Am I supposed to agree that a genin should be better at giving reports than a jounin hopeful?”
“Well, when you put it like /that/…” Obito groans. “Okay, jeez. Turning on serious mode.” He takes in a breath and composes his expression into what he has termed his Serious Face, which looks a lot like Minato when Minato has his hands folded in front of his mouth and his elbows on his desk. “Shion-shishou was supervising my sealwork, since I was fiddling with dimensions—I’ve been trying to translate Kamui into sealwork, which is /so hard/, you have /no idea/—and, like usual, I fucked up and we landed in this dimension…”
#noriwritey#shionverse#turtle au#naruto#obito makes the 'konoha's time-space division' cards himself. sometimes he looks at all the shit he has to put on the back and just goes#'wow. life's really fucked up huh.'#kakashi (who has had to sit thru yrs of minato & shion's space-time shenanigans & now has to deal w obito's too): *sighs* it sure is#shion and obito are apparently physically incapable of not bickering or bantering with each other#it's even worse with kakashi in the mix#but . yeah. turtle au obito and rin listen to obito's entire long and embellished tale#(which includes a tangent abt the evils of man- and alienkind. turtle au obito nods along like yes u are so right#plant monsters are in fact the devil)#and if they end it without even once being like 'wow i want to adopt you plz be an avenging wandering monk w us' i will eat my hat#this also assumes that root is uh. a konoha secret? so people who left konoha wldnt know abt it if they didnt know before they left#what good is a secret underground army if its not actually secret ya kno#plz ask us about our aus we love them#i left this open-ended because. well. obito wld absolutely love to be an avenging wandering monk.#shion: we ? need to go back ? to our own universe ????#obito: then we just need to make sure we can come back *starts working on a seal to pin down this singular dimension*

last week's findings and good-luck charms (?)
hello everyone :)
last week, i was too exhausted to show you guys what i brought, and what i gained in my gacha games, but since i'm too exhausted now, i'm taking advantage of this to show you everything :)
(actually, i'm just going to talk about three days from last week : tuesday, wednesday and thursday. also, i have some questions that i wanted to ask here, but it will be in the end of the post.)
without further ado, i'll start now :)
Tuesday
this day, for personal reasons, i had to go to my college, so after i did, i strolled in paris' street who is known for it's japanese and korean stores, and when i went to the second-hand store (they specifically sell books, dvd, video games, manga, k-pop and j-pop cds, etc.), and i found this jewel.
as soon as i saw it, i had no choice but to take it. the goodies were already taken, but since i have a pretty good luck with photocards, i didn't really care about the album's goodies.
and on the same night, i obtained this card in utapri shining live.
ai, along with tokiya, is one of my oshis in the game, and in utapri in general, so i was overjoyed. and when i understood it was the one for the fourth anniversary, i was more than overjoyed.
Wednesday
for this day, there is going to be one item only. that day, i was strolling in the chinese district of paris (i dunno if it's the good way to say it, but i always say it in french, so i don't know how i could translate it in english). anyway, it's this item.
i know it's not a rare one, i mean, but i was so happy to get my hands on it. because honestly, i was afraid that the store clerk was going to tell me, "i'm sorry, but we don't have any stock left", but that didn't happen, so i'm happy. also, even if i didn't get hyunjin or felix in the photocards, i got another item where the two of them are together, so i'm pretty content with it :) (as for the photocards, in case the quality is shitty, i have chan, i.n and changbin)
(also, "sorry, i love you" is the best song of the album for me)
Thrusday
finally, it's the last day. don't worry, it'll be quick. so it was really late into the night, and thanks to the free gachas in cinderella girls, i obtained this card.
rin is my ult oshi in the game, and i longed for this card since so long, that when i obtained it, i just couldn't believe it. i don't have anymore to add about this.
anyway, i'm sorry for this post being so long, but i wanted to share it somewhere, and i thought my tumblr would be the best place for it, so here it is!
also, i did mention that i had questions, and it will be only two :
first, lately, i like to watch emissions with onf and txt, i listen to some of their songs, but i don't own a lot of albums from them (i have one for txt, and zero for onf). so my question is, can i consider myself a fan of those groups, even if i have only one, or zero albums?
second, youtube recommands me a lot of videos where people show their photocards binders, and i wanted to know if there is a way to buy them physically (i live close to paris), or if i can only buy them online? because i want to do the same with the ones i have.
with that, stay safe guys :)
#stray kids#skz#seventeen#svt#utapri shining live#idolmaster cinderella girls#really sorry for the super duper long post#i'll understand if you skip this#and i hope that someone will be able to answer to my questions#especially to the first one

I want to learn about all your Mob Psycho 100 OC's!!! Tell me everything! Can I join the discord?
oh.. oh my goodness??!!! thank you !
I’ll try and tell you as much as i can without rambling on too much! Also I’m not sure what you mean by discord since I’m not on any particular mp100 discord chat but i am on the amino which you should totally join
more under the cut cause its gonna be long
First, my main oc is Kayoko. She’s the first oc I ever made and is a clairvoyant who specilizes in manipulation over “randomized” chances. ex: choosing the right card from a deck, flipping a book open to the right page, get chosen from raffles etc… you could say she has incredible “luck”. She uses her power to … gamble a lot… She’s not exactly a stand up student by any means and is brutally honest to those around her. Bit of a delinquent as she is rather quick to anger and throw punches. But she is loyal to her friends at the very least.
She’s part of a board games club (named C.A.R.B.S) that includes 4 other people (…technically five but im going by my own canon route) that includes:Mausyo the president: a snobbish stuck up girl who is secretly just an anime nerd who acts like a shitty 90s anime villain Kenta, a well behaved and a slight doormat type whose half british and is terribly homesick. If he left the club, it would all collapse. Hibiki, Kayoko’s best friend who is an obnoxious loud brat that likes biting everything in sight. Constantly fighting something. And finally Rin… the… trainwreck. He’s a really embarrasing over the top wannabe “cool kid” who should have probably died five months ago by the amount of product he sticks on his face.
I have a few other minor kid ocs that include Ben (one of the delinquents ritsu beat up in the alleyway who had a change of heart), Fleurette (my aoyama/Saison Margeurite hybrid rip-off), and Ayama (Hibiki’s older goth sister who goes to Teru’s school).
Next come the adults!
I have two main adult ocs, Noriko and Yuudai. Noriko is a police woman living in seasoning city also with psychic powers. She specialises in barriers and defence. Think about it when Teru inverted his barrier when battling that fire guy. Now that that and expand upon it. She is.. not very good at her job and seems to always experience some sort of extreme emotion. She is ADAMANT about justice, chasing down even the most petty thief for miles and causing massive damage costs in the process… she is reckless to say in the least. Although she seems to cause more damage than good, the police force hasn’t fired her because she’s an excellent baker who brings in food for peoples birthdays and special occasions. She is protective over Kayoko and only wants the best for her, as well as all teens and children. She seems to always go easy on them ei: never throwing them into prison. The reason why? She claims kids just “don’t know what they’re doing”
Next is the asshole himself Yuudai. Now just imagine the most vile sleazy door to door salesmen who also works as an 80s car dealer on the side line, smoking lines of coke between “helping” customers and always feeling the need to express his lewd thoughts when around a woman even in the most slightly revealing outfit yet when he’s doing none of those he’s jerking it to a google image search of the word “boob” because he doesn’t understand how the internet works and when he doesn’t have internet access he’s accessing his collection of 20 year old playboy mags which are probably as crusty as his entire damn face because i don’t think this man even knows what public hygiene is. Also i should add his esper ability it the power to see into the past of a certain location. Ex: he goes into a room with a safe and in his mind he can “rewind” time to a point where he sees someone from a past event unlocking the safe, thus yuudai learns the combo. He cant interact with the past but for sure can see it so he uses this power to do sleazy detective work.
also to everyone’s surprise (or… not-so-surprise depending) he has a young daughter named Junko (i gotta credit @starplatinyaa for co-making her cause shes a joint collab oc. also worth mentioning she also made the “5th” unmentioned member of C.A.R.B.S) whose..oddly enough considering her father, the complete opposite and quite a ray of sunshine?? She also LOVES insects and holds a deep curisoty for the world. also yuudai will never mention this but hes got a soft spot for her
Now onto some other minor adult ocs! heh.. this list is getting long so ill try and keep this short. For other adult ocs I got:
Sal: a creepy psychic lady living out in the forest by her lonesome. She has a morbid ability of soul manipulation ans seems to hate anybody getting near her… think of her as one of those weird slasher villains but with a heavier emphasis on backstory
Verin: a talented cynical mangaka who is fascinated by religion and mythology. He listens to epic power metal 24/7 and has a ton of nordic-themed tattoos all around him. He also finds espers to be ultra interesting and will pester one relentlessly with questions if he finds one.
Gundma: a Claw member whose…a grandma with a gun. she takes no shit but also acts very kind to her division members.Furi: a 45 year old furry Claw member who.. well.. is a furry. He acts cat-like and can produce wolverine-esque claws with his psychic ability. Tsutoneru: she smokes weed… can control temperature… doesnt believe canada exists and also is a Claw member.
Theres also a few ocs i have in the works currently, a group of three idol fans and the singer they love.
SO THATS IT! man sorry i wrote a lot here ;;; but thank you so much for asking!
also if anyone wants to rp… im 100% DOWN

Friday
9:30 AM: Good morning and welcome to my last spooky reading blog. This weekend, I have three major reading goals.
Start and finish Spell on Wheels, which shouldn’t be hard since it’s only a graphic novel.
Finish His Hideous Heart. I started this last weekend and got a good chunk of the way through during the week. I don’t think this will be hard either
Start and finish These Witches Don’t Burn. This is my most ambitious goal, and I really do not see it happening. Maybe I should have more faith in myself.
I also have a ton of reading to do for my women’s history class, and my roommate and I want to marathon the Scream movies. So we’ll see how much reading I actually get done.
I quickly wanted to tell y’all that I finished House of Salt and Sorrow by Erin A. Craig last night, and really enjoyed it. It’s a spooky retelling of The 12 Dancing Princesses, which was a story I always loved as a little girl. This version has more murder and ghosts. I gave it four stars on Goodreads. It was so creepy and the imagery was lovely. I also love a good sibling dynamic and that was very prevalent in this book. The mystery was really compelling, and I was dying to know what was coming next. This is an unpopular opinion, but I really liked the romance and thought it was a great way to escape all the creepiness and mourning of the story. I took away a star because I hated the oldest sister, Camille. She was sort of a b-word, but she kind of grew on me. Only a little. Also the last few chapters hurt my head, and I don’t know if it was in a good way.
10:30 AM: I have taken my morning walk and gotten breakfast. I’m now getting ready for the day. My roommate, Christa, and I are going out for pizza and then heading to this huge Salvation Army in a nearby town. I’m hoping there’s some good books there.
3:00 PM: Unfortunately, the book selection was sort of weak. They did have several copies of various Twilight saga books, which I always like to see, but I do own all of them. Luckily, I did find a very nice sweater and very nice shirt that my hero, Jack Dylan Grazer, also owns. I’ve been jealous of the shirt since I saw it, and now I can wear it all the time.
Anyway, I made Christa take pics of me in my new (old) clothes, so here you go.
8:00 PM: I finally start Spell On Wheels while my laundry is going. I love it a whole lot. Queer lady witches is my favorite genre. The art is so cute, and the book is just spooky enough, without scaring me or grossing me out. Also, there is a hot goatman. I love goatman, and I think you should all Google him if you are not familiar with his work.
9:00 PM: After my laundry is done, and Christa and I have a dance party to bad Christmas songs, we turn on Glee. I love Glee but also hate it. Sam is my favorite character, because my type is an idiot with a heart of gold who also has ginormous lips.
12:00 AM: We watched so much Glee. So much. Happy Saturday.
Saturday
8:00 AM: Despite my late night watching Glee, I still wake up at a reasonable time. There’s no reason to, since no where on campus is open yet. I spend my morning reading fanfiction (yes its Reddie, yes I’m still not over that, no I don’t want to stop).
10:00 AM: I pack my backpack with my laptop and the reading I have to do for women’s history. I also grab Spell On Wheels and His Hideous Heart, but I’m not sure I’m going to get any reading done. At least not the kind anyone wants to hear about.
I guess I’ll talk about His Hideous Heart real quick. I’m not finished yet, but I am enjoying it. I think some people were saying it might not be for someone like me, who is unfamiliar with Poe’s work. I mean, I know Annabel Lee but that’s only because I stan Matthew Gray Gubler and Cassandra Clare’s The Dark Artifices (I know, please forgive me for stanning her work). That being said, this has been fun. It’s like I’m just reading some spooky stories. It also helps that I have a friend who is president of my school’s lit society and is willing to tell me the plot of several Poe stories instead of doing homework (love you long time Hannah).
2:00 PM: I finished lots of homework at Starbucks and I’ve now returned to my room to finish Spell on Wheels, which I’ve been embarrassingly calling Spells on Wheels. Oops!
The good news is, I really like this book. It’s super fun. I finish it up, and give it 4.5/5 Stars. Is there going to be another volume? Any continuation whatsoever?! The ending was sort of open.
3:00 PM: I read two stories from His Hideous Heart but I’m not really feeling it so I put it down and read fanfiction instead.
4:30 PM: I tear into a bag of gummy bears and we start our Scream marathon. I don’t know why I thought I could handle this. It’s icky and sad and making me like David Arquette. Around the time a girl dies via garage door, I realize we are not going to be watching more than this movie.
I appreciate Scream for what it is, but also recognize it is not for me. My roomie and I have a dance party to bad Christmas music instead.
10:00 PM: After Scream, I go see a play on campus. I’m glad I did, because I feel like I’ve been doing a whole lot of nothing lately. After the play, I go back to my room and watch Good Mythical Morning, which is what I watch when I need a pick me up. I also read some fanfiction (shocker) before I go to sleep.
Sunday
10:00 AM: I wake up later than expected, and realize it’s pouring out. I planned on going to the library but the torrential rain completely ruins that plan. Instead I pop open my shitty umbrella and take the short walk to Starbucks where I chug down a mocha and slap post it notes in spots in my women’s history books. I also write seven pages of my screenplay that I do not feel great about.
12:00 PM: When I leave Starbucks it’s raining harder than before. I feel like I’m walking through a swamp or something. I decide once I get back to my room to not leave until the rain stops. Instead, I hang up my soaking wet clothes and do some yoga while listening to bad Christmas music.
2:00 PM: After yoga and a shower, I finally sit down to do some reading. My goal is to finish His Hideous Heart. I have about 75 pages left and I know I can speed through them. I’m also thinking I’ll maybe start These Witches Don’t Burn, if I have the motivation.
3:00 PM: Reader, I do not have the motivation. I finish His Hideous Heart, which means I’m going to give every story a star rating, just for you.
She Rode a Horse of Fire (based on Metzengerstein) by Kendare Blake: ⅗ ☆
Its Carnival (based on The Cask of Amontillado by Tiffany D. Jackson : 3.5/5 ☆
Night-Tide (based on Annabel Lee) by Tessa Gratton: 4.5/5 ☆
The Glittering Death (based on The Pit and the Pendulum) by Caleb Roehrig : 2.5/5 ☆
A Drop of Stolen Ink (based on The Purloined Letter) by Emily Llyod-Jones : ⅘ ☆
Happy Days, Sweetheart (based on The Tell-Tale Heart) by Stephanie Keun : ⅗ ☆
The Raven (Remix) by amanda lovelace : 2.5/5 ☆
Changeling (based on Hop-Frog) by Marieke Nijkamp : ⅘ ☆
The Oval Filter (based on The Oval Portrait by Lamar Giles: ⅗ ☆
Red (based on The Masque of the Red Death) by Hillary Monahan: 2.5/5 ☆
Lygia (based on Ligeia) by Dahlia Adler: ⅘ ☆
The Fall of the Bank of Usher (based on The Fall of the House of Usher) by Fran Wilde: ⅘ ☆
The Murders in Rue Apartelle, Boracay (based on The Murders in the Rue Morgue) by Rin Chupeco: 5/5 ☆
So there’s all that! I really do not feel like reading, so I color and watch Youtube instead. Thrilling, I know.
8:30 PM: I finally, finally start These Witches Don’t Burn! It’s probably the last thing I’ll read before the end of these blogs, and I definitely won’t finish, so let’s just end this now.
I’ve read nine books this month, so far. You’ve heard my thoughts on most of them, so I’m just going to tell you my favorite and least favorite. My favorite was absolutely Lock Every Door by Riley Sagar. I have never gasped so loudly in my life. This book had me clutching my pearls. I also really loved The Okay Witch by Emma Steinkellner. I guess my least favorite was The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett, which hurts to say. I don’t want to say His Hideous Heart because I am unfamiliar with Poe, and also because my feelings on each story are wildly different. Anyway,I still gave The Lady Rogue a 3.5/5! It’s just that compared to everything else I read, it wasn’t very memorable. That being said, I still recommend all of Jenn Bennett’s young adult contemporary novels. And I recommend almost all the spooky books I read this October! It’s been a great month.
Thanks for reading! Follow and share and like! Stay tuned for something similar to this in December! Follow me other places too!

Helium: Director’s Blah Pt. 2
Akala mo tapos na no? Di pa po. Ang dami ko pa sikreto. Marami pa ako sasabihin. Kaya sit down, inom ka muna ng kape and enjoy.
Sabi nga nila, it wouldn’t be an Elly film without being Elly. And for those who don’t know me. I am really weird and secretive. Ang dami kong hidden agenda sa bawat bagay. I like creating puzzles, hoping that people will figure it out. And the same goes for Helium. Ang daming pa-emote. Ako lang naman nakakaintindi, so here it goes.
Quick recap lang. Helium is a 30 minute short film about an introvert girl, Allie, na nagkulong sa sarili niyang mundo because of rejections and heartbreak. Her only friend is a loud girl named Ella. One day, biglang nagbago life niya ng umuwi ang former friend niya at nawala ang aso niya.
If you haven't seen the short film, expect massive spoilers duh.
The film began with clips of the outside world, moving towards the empty house, and then the colorful room of Allie.
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. - 1 John 5:12
Isa sa pinaka-importanteng elemento ng Helium ang usaping “Faith” kaya gusto ko siyang ipakita in different ways. One way is through Bible Verse. Yung hindi over the top, pero nandyan. Kaya naisip kong ipakita siya through time.
Allie lost her faith not only to the Lord but herself as well through the course of time. She let it happen to her. I think this is one of my favorite easter eggs of the film. Kasi alam ko na ako lang nakaka-alam nito. Haha. Truly for pleasure ko lang talaga siya. Hehehe.
The film continued to introduce Allie’s character. Her mannerisms, repetitive routine, her interest in Photography, crafts and film and her friend, Ella. Spoiler alert. Hindi po totoo si Ella. She is the personification of Allie’s depression, fear and anxiety. That’s why throughout the film, hindi nagbubukas ng pinto si Ella. Hindi rin talaga siya nakikita si Allie. Tayo lang ang nakakakita kay Ella. She is interacting with her own sub-concious. Lahat ng parang interactions nila ay intentional/convenience lang. Try to take note of this when you watch it again. Although I must warn you, merong isang scene na nagkamali kami. Hahaha.
Another thing I like to point out. Sa lahat ng eksena ni Ella, lagi siyang kumakain. It is because Allie does and always feed into her depression, fear and anxiety. The more na kumakain si Ella, the more natatakot si Allie sa mundo. The more the bumibigat siya.
I really want to portray the weight of depression in the simplest way. Kasi, most of the time, people disregard “depression” because it is not a physical sickness. Sometimes, in the most simplest ways, people are in pain.
Another favorite easter egg of mine is the book “The Solitaire Mystery” na briefly ipinakita sa Cafe scene. Its my favorite book of all time and it is about a father and son looking for their wife/mother.
A joker is a little fool who is different from everyone else. He's not a club, diamond, heart, or spade. He's not an eight or a nine, a king or a jack. He is an outsider. He is placed in the same pack as the other cards, but he doesn't belong there. Therefore, he can be removed without anybody missing him.
I was inspired by this passage from the book. And another description of Allie and Ella. They feel isolated in the world they belong to, thus creating a new one for themselves. Also, another similarity is that the book reminds Allie of her friend, whom she longed for a long time. Katulad ng father and son to the wife/mother.
Each character, dialogues and events have its significance kasi ito talaga yung nag drive kay Allie to branch out, and poke her comfort bubble. Without those desires na matagal nyang di naramdaman. If hindi umuwi si Philip and asked for a reconciliation, I think, mataba pa rin si Ella hanggang ngayon. Hahaha.
*
Things we missed because filming is a one shitty hell hole.
Helium was supposed to be a coming of age film about self love. Pero dahil sa napakaraming conflict of interest na compromises, naging short film siya about a girl finding reconsideration with the people she loved/abandoned and herself. Hindi kasing deep as I expected.
Eto na, ang mga eksena sa Helium na na-cut, di na-shoot o talagang nawalang parang bula. The story would really make sense kung napasama talaga siya sa final cut.
Ang nawawalang aso, nawawala pa rin
Isa sa mga turning point ng life ni Allie is noong nawala ang alaga nilang aso na si Yohan. Throughout the “supposed to be” shortie, hinahanap ni Allie si Yohan. She always bring food outside, looking for Yohan, waiting for Yohan. May mga shot kami nito, but hindi siya talaga napanindigan, so na-cut siya sa final output. Ugh, naririnig mo ba? Ang pagkadurog ng puso ko?
Importanteng parte ng istorya si Yohan because the dog is the representation fo God’s Mercy. Yohan literally means “God is merciful” and if ko-connect mo siya sa life verse ni Allie it kinda makes sense. Allie lost her faith - but constantly, in little ways try to find it. At some point, Allie believes that God is merciful.
Hindi nakita ni Allie si Yohan. Hindi na ito bumalik, instead nakakita sila ni Ate Che ng puppy. That puppy is the representation of her “new faith” to herself and to the Lord. All along, yung lost puppy pala ang kumakain lahat ng food ni Yohan. All along, Allie is feeling her new faith, unbeknownst to her.
So sino ba talaga si Philip?
Philip is actually a name driven from the Bible Verse, Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” which is also present sa shortie if mabilis mata mo. If mapapansin nyo, Philip always encourage, he is also present when Allie is looking for Yohan.
I think halos lahat ng character may significant meaning ang names. Allie / Ella is connected. Philip and Yohan is about faith and Che is short for cherish. The time and memories lost because Allie did not “cherish” her own sister. Haha. Cute ko.
Bakit hindi na friends sila Allie and Philip?
There’s a dialogue where Philip explained kung bakit siya umalis. Sabi niya “kinailangan niya umalis at si Allie talaga ang nagputol ng friendship nila.” Which is true. Umalis si Philip kasi kailangan niya alagaan ang nanay niya na may sakit.
Sobrang nasaktan si Allie because meron siyang trust issue. Isang major explanation na na-cut sa shortie is her background story. Kung bakit siya depressed. Kung bakit di niya matanggap na iniwan siya ni Philip. It all rooted when she was younger. When her father left their family. Allie never recovered. Meron din kami dialogue ng Tatay and batang Allie, pero hindi namin nasama kasi nakakatawa. (Sorry Daddy ni Hans.)
Sino ang kausap ni Allie sa breakdown scene?
Siyempre ang sarili niya. She was looking at the mirror the entire time na kausap niya si Ella. She was crying to herself. Reflections are really the key to understand this film and I’m sorry na hindi ko siya napanindigan.
One foreshadowing din is yung cup ni Allie. She always drink something. And yung design ng cup means something. It is letter “E” kapag nakataob and letter “A” kapag nasa tamang position. Ang pinaka importanteng foreshadowing siguro is their name itself. Ella backward is Allie without the “i” meaning, the real person is “Allie”. Does it make sense? I hope it does.
And lastly, bakit Helium ang title? Adik ka ba?
Medyo. Hahahaha. At dahil ako ay ako, syempre may meaning kung bakit Helium ang title ng shortie. First, gusto ko may impact yung title. One word lang, pero mapapakunot ang noo mo. Ang dami kong idea non, pero wala yung talagang sumapak sa akin. I still remember yung gabi na lumutang ang word na “Helium”. Nanuod kami non ng movie and while we are in the bus on the way home, basta bigla na lang siya nag pop.
Helium. Heal.um. HE.lium.
Alam mo ba na Helium is much lighter than oxygen, kaya nakakalipad ang lobo? Sa buong palabas, Allie has been blowing her own balloon. Instead of letting her life fly, she is dragging it down with her weight (Oxygen=Ella). Heal.Um. Katulad ng sinabi ko noong pitching day namin. One must “Heal” in order to be their “better selves” and lastly “HE” can make all things possible
What the fudge is the ending?
Helium ends with Allie arriving to Seoul. South Korea. Nakatanggap siya ng tawag from Philip asking how is she. Sabi ni Allie, “Okay na” siya but a second passed, and we see the shadow of Ella behind her. What does it mean? Fear, sadness, and anxiety doesn’t go away. These are part of life. Of growing up. Surviving. But take notice that Ella and Allie has distance between them. It means that even though Allie is still scared sa mga pagbabago sa buhay niya, she is no longer controlled by Ella, her fears.
*
The conclusion
Do I have regrets? Yes. Plenty, sa sobrang dami, inihip ko siya sa lobo. But I think those regrets are part of the process. Alam ko naman na hindi magiging on point ang Helium the way I imagined it. And even though there’s so many heartbreak, I have grown to accept it. At the end of the day, I am happy and blessed to be able to make one of my stories come true.
Also, I’ll just let this out there. Helium is not about myself. Halos lahat sinasabi na ako si Allie. Hindi po ako si Allie. If I would make my life a short film, totally different. Totally crazy. Believe me. Hahaha. Allie is inspired of so many people I know. Myself. The introverts. My friends who’d struggle through time. Ella is part of who we are. We are constantly playing with our balloons, praying that it’’ll break free and fly. We are healing.
If gagawa pa akong shortie? Of course. Naghahanap lang ako ng timing. Parang yung Helium. Naghintay ng 10 taon para mabuo. With the right timing. Right people and crew. Right moment. Right OST. Salamat ng marami.
Part one ba hanap mo, click here.
