Update 4/22/2020

I haven't abandoned writing. However, I work for an 'essential business', so I've been very busy at work during the Corvid-19 pandemic. Not on the front lines (like medical-related jobs) and my prayers go out to those who do have those jobs, as well as jobs that involve retail or groceries. To all my followers, please stay safe.

What is your favourite Final Fantasy?

Probably IX, though XIV has rapidly risen through the ranks over the last year (even if I’ve still only watched the cutscenes) and there are several I’m fond of. (It’d probably be easier to list the ones I don’t like, tbh.)

First drink: Ramora "Ram" D'aubigne

Floral, fruity, sweet. Tastes delicious, you don't even feel the burn of alcohol. Dangerous. Before you know it, you've drank too many. This is actually a very strong drink made especially for a certain adventurer who likes to drink and likes sweet things. Packs a surprise punch.

Drink number two: Germanotta "Ger" Lionheart. A drink that reminds you of spiked-lemonade mixed with mojito, but the citrus and mint cannot disguise the strong taste of alcohol. A drink mixed up for a particular lady knight who is used to drinking dannifen's joy with a certain lord. Citrus, mint, sweetened to taste. Don't drink and ride.

Viera!Zenos x wol

No context ficlet inspired by the ideas of @ladyramora and @rhodeswesterfeld featuring my miqo'te wol, Ruby. (Fair warning: it's been a million years since I last wrote fanfic)

As the angry prince of Garlemald stomped up the stairs of her house, the walls trembling slightly under the strength of those legs, a question so very familiar to the one people called warrior of light made itself known once more: Why me?

Yet, instead of letting herself fall into despair, the miqo'te girl let herself sigh loudy, expressing all the anguish and exhaustion she felt before putting herself back together again. She was Ruby, warrior of light, and she would not be bested by a pouty Garlean Prince and his tantrums.

She leaned into the stairway and yelled up, "If you don't stop your sulking immediately and get ready, I will never pet you again!"

Merely a few seconds later, and the heavy footsteps of an 8 feet tall man in armor resonated across the house — and perhaps even the entire division of the Goblet where she resided.

Zenos never said a word, but she could tell from his slight slouch and the way his long bunny ears were pressed against his skull that he had resigned himself. Zenos held out his arms towards her as he sat next to Ruby on her average sized Oasis couch. The small Oasis cottage clearly had not been thought for people of such heights and weights. Flitingly, Ruby regretted not having splurged for a bigger house in her early adventuring days, yet at the time the cottage she fell in love with had felt like a mansion after living off inn rooms for so long.

Quickly, with the speed that came from habit, she strapped the heavy shackles around Zenos' wrists and activated the strength dampener Cid had engineered especially for him.

"Thank you," she smiled up to him as her right hand reached for the particular spot where his soft blond and white ears met with his hair and digged her fingers in. A soft hum escaped Zenos' lips, followed by a glare as he angled his back towards Ruby. After a few months, she felt particularly confident that she knew him as well as anyone could, he had a tendancy to pout after being offended that could be melted away with a few well placed pats.

"We can't have a political prisoner of your fame wandering up the streets of Ul'dah without any restraints. Even with me at your side."

Her left hand went to play with his other ear, the hum returning louder than previously, until his whole body fell, as if boneless, on top of her along the couch.

"More, more. Just so." His piercing blue eyes disappearing beneath heavy lids.

She giggled at the careless display, "Come on, we didn't go through all this not to get out of the house. If you behave, I'll even take you on a hunt with me."

A weight allieviated from her chest as one ear rose up, "An S rank?"

"Sure, it's been a while since I checked in with the Hunters, I'm sure there's a new one waiting for you."

Suddenly, Zenos' hand picked her up at the waist and placed her in his lap. She felt his chin rub hard against her head, her own ears pushed away from the painful contact.

"Us."

"Us, if you prefer."

A sound more akin to a rock slide than a purr emanated from his chest into her back where she was pressed against him.

"What are you waiting for, let me up and let's go."

"Yes. It is time for us to share prey and blood."

A maniac smiled grew on Zenos' lips, and once more Ruby wondered: why me?
