I   kinda second this. he also was pretty abusive towards his grandson and then his grandson towards his own son and it pretty much hit home for me.

Except for the part of the kissing. 

I also wished we were able to kick Emet-Selch in the crotch for what its worth because he kinds of deserved it. So dose Elidibus. 

Okay look if you're going to like a villain you do not have to justify it- or, worse yet- try to justify and woobify all the fucked up shit they did.

You don't see me going 'uwu Emet Selch isn't ACTUALLY a mass murderer! He's not a genocidal conquerer! He just wanted his world back!' Like yes. He wanted his world back. And that was the MOTIVATION behind all the fucked up things he did. But he absolutely committed genocide. Hell it think it's all but stated he wrote the book on war crimes. He did so many horrific horrible things to facilitate rejoinings and succeeding that his body count is in the billions.

See? It's easy. This is coming from someone who dreams of kissing Emet-Selch under the moonlight. He's evil. He's horrible. I love him. End discussion.

So Gods above why did I have to read an entire post literally having the worst possible take I have ever read in my life trying to exonerate and woobify Zenos 'I hunt people for sport for my amusement' viator Galvus.

Like I enjoy Zenos. My dearest friend wants to get railed by him.

But trying to say he is anything less than what he is is a discredit to the character.

Like Zenos is a mass murderer. There is literally no way around the fact that he kills people for his own enjoyment and convenience. Trying to say 'bluh bluh the only people he killed were those who tried to kill him or that Varis ordered him to kill' like 1.) Tell that to the Garlean general that gets bisected on screen for annoying him (girlboss moment) and 2.) I think at that point in Zenos' life Varis full well acknowledged he could not control or order him around and everything he said to Zenos was a 'stern suggestion'.

Zenos even repeatedly tells Yotsuyu and Fordola 'I want the people in the provinces to have their hope crushed just enough that they are instilled with the same ferocity and determination of a rabid cornered animal so they give me a good and enjoyable hunt'. Like. My brother in Hydaelyn. He hunts humans for sport and enjoys it. In his Neverending quest for a do or die battle.

And also, Zenos might not be a stalker. But he is obsessive. As for what your definition of stalker is he definitely monitors our movements but doesn't feel the need to follow us because he knows(thinks) that if he causes enough problems and death the WoL will come to him and give him the battle he craves. He kidnaps us, grand thefts our body, and then tries to kill our friends to motivate us to transcend our limits. That is obsessive shit.

Hell the only time Fandaniel manages to get any interest out of him is by mentioning the WoL. Zenos is a dog with a bone and giving very strong yandere vibes which i have to respect due to the sheer effort he puts in.

And then trying to flip the script...to say that we, the WoL, are the one stalking Zenos....by confronting him in the palace in Ala Mhigo and seeking him out.

It truly feels like you watched a revenge thriller and the entire time you see the character whose entire family got murdered by this one asshole finally tracking him down your one takeaway was 'omg what a creepy stalker leave the guy alone'.

Zenos at that point is the figurehead of the imperial machine crushing Ala Mhigo and Doma. He heads both those provinces and encourages the cruelty done unto its people in hopes that they'll rise up and he'll get to go on his 'hunt'.

We do not confront him for a social visit. We do not come to the imperial palace for tea. We go there to kill him for the liberation of two seperate provinces. Confront the figurehead of an imperial war machine is as much stalking as nutting into a sock is murder.

Zenos is a fucked up homicidal little dude who sought his meek thrills in killing people for sport and killed his own father in a girlboss moment for trying to rain on his fun. He is obsessed with the only person who has made his brain release dopamine in his entire life and he is an endlessly compelling villain and enjoyable character. But trying to make him less of what he is is a discredit to his character and what makes him enjoyable in the first place.
