1. something you absolutely adore:

Sierra's ShoH MC, Odelinka! And my ShoH MC, Bogusia!

They were made as a matching set and turned into custom acrylic keychains. Their coming into existence was a turning point in my life and I'm not exaggerating when I'm saying that they made my life so much better. Here's to more chibi keychains in the future! <3

But! I've spent way too much time refreshing the page and marvelling at my coding for Achievement Unlocked not to also count it here. It's a 70-words-long coda for Episode II of Wayfarer and my second attempt at coding. A long break made my return to CSS more challenging than I'd like it to be, but I'm very pleased with the end result and I keep shoving this little fic into the faces of all people who are up to date with the public build of Wayfarer. I think that it's just neat.

2. something that was challenging to create: 

Worst Romance Ever was both my first fic for Dragon Age, first fic published on ao3, first fic shared publically in a veeeery long time and, most importantly, my first venture into CSS coding. It's an account of a dudebro gamer criticising Emerald Aeducan's romance route in the fictional remake of Dragon Age: Origins. (Don't get discouraged by its unfinished status - it's technically finished, I'm just going back and forth on whether I should upload a little extra.) There was so much I had to learn for this project! Frankly, nothing I've made ever since matched it in terms of intensity. The layout is not perfect and I'd like to rework it sometime in the future, but it's a testament of my persistence and I'm proud of it anyway! Also, that's how I discovered that I actually like CSS coding and want to dabble in more ao3 skins in the future! So, small steps. :)

Zarya of disapproval! Her judgemental face never fails to crack me up. (Gosh, I really need to draw some more for Mysticons...)

4. something that surprised you (in how it turned out, how much other people liked it, etc.):

spotkania o 8. rano na Zoomie, my ~200-words-long modern AU ficlet for Wayfarer! I wrote it on a whim, published it right after, in a bout of unhinged self-confidence wrote about it on Wayfarer's Discord server... but nothing could prepare me for the warm welcome this ficlet received! It was written entirely in Polish, it was as niche as it could get, and yet! One person actually confessed to reading it with the help of Google Translate. I'm still overjoyed just thinking about it.

I ended up translating it into English the very next day, another record for me, though 8 a.m. Zoom meetings most likely got lost in the notifs and didn't match the Polish version's popularity. Still, I love both! And if you played Episode I of Wayfarer and have a minute to spare, I recommend giving it a chance!

5. something you want other people to see:

I dare to say that my art of my blorbo, Serena Amell, is quite underrated. C'mon, with some tweaks suggested to me by my best friend, I really managed to make her look very cute!

I know that it is not how bingo works, but I wanted to go for maximum honesty here so I introduced half points for “It is mostly true but not true enough for me to double cross it without feeling guilty”.

i.e. Star Wars - I love the franchise but I still have not recovered after the last two movies and I am in this awful slump “I have nothing to look out for, also the final season of The Clone Wars will be, most likely, a huge disappointment”.

Telekinesis is her favorite thing ever. It’s like having as many arms as you want, and she frequently uses it without having to think about it. Like she’ll be talking with Carth in their apartment and then the caf maker will start by itself, making drinks for both of them. (He thinks she’s showing off and well, he’s not completely wrong) After many years of memorizing the correct switches on the Ebon Hawk, Revan can turn it on using only her mind. (She still prefers doing it manually in case she misses something)

No one can sneak up on her. She always knows if someone is behind her, though she sometimes can’t tell who it is

Force lightning can sometimes prove useful in desperate situations. When a ship loses power due to deactivation, a pulse from her fingertip can spark it on again. She keeps getting lectured about it bc it’s a Dark Side power

Restrictions:

She can be reckless, and always takes the difficult part of missions, sometimes alone. During the attack on the Star Forge, she slipped away from the others because she thought they would only slow her down. Even though she’s pretty much a one-woman army, this sometimes blows up in her face. She thought she could face the threat in the Unknown Regions alone, but quickly learned she would need help. (That help eventually turned out to be the Exile.)

This also ties in with the last part- She’s biased and keeps the ones she loves the most in the safest parts of the battle when she can. Revan would rather risk a random soldier’s life than Carth’s, for example.

Revan, unfortunately, takes after Kreia. She often has a master plan, and isn’t above subtly manipulating people with the Force. She wouldn’t dare try it with her loved ones, but she doesn’t see anything wrong with giving someone a little “suggestion” through the Force

FAVOURITES:

Food: eating emergency rations at 3 AM (gone wrong) Revan isn’t very picky. She’s even eaten questionable food before, mainly because of the resistance to poison that comes with Jedi training.

Name: Jess Ashley/Revan    She chose the name Revan when she was pretty young, after dropping her deadname. The jedi council gave her the name Jess Ashley along with her fake memories, but it stuck and she doesn’t mind being called either.

Nickname: Rev, Jessie

Age: 30 at the start of kotor1

Morality: Neutral Evil     I always have a hard time choosing an accurate alignment for my characters since I feel like they’re always in between somewhere. Jess is definitely neutral, since she does defy laws and rules if it’s in her best interest, but doesn’t go out of her way to break any. She certainly isn’t “good”, either. Neutral evil is being capable of anything as long as it advances the character or their goals and I feel like that fits quite well. (also she was on the red morality side ingame) PERSONAL

Religion: does the force count?    Jess doesn’t follow either the jedi or the sith code closely, but she’s very attuned and connected to the force and has created her own religion-like thinking around it. She definitely believes the force has a certain predetermined destiny for anyone and anything, and that she is able to sense that destiny. This has quite gone to her head, as she believes she’s some kind of prophet who can see the force’s will. However, she doesn’t dare going against that destiny(and if she does; it’s only reserved for the people she loves most in the universe).

Scars/Birthmarks: Claw scars on her lower back    Headcanon time! She and some other padawans were stationed on Hoth for some training in the snow and of course she wandered off cause she was bored. Alek was right on her heels cause he was always the more responsible of the two and he was worried. They got sneak attacked by some big creature, which left Revan with scars on her lower back (since she was too embarrassed to go to a proper healer) and from then on they both hated Hoth, and even disliked the cold. Even after her memory loss, Jess had an unexplainable reluctance to go to Hoth, and still disliked the cold. ABILITIES/POWERS

1. She is able to sense the “will of the force”, and sees destined outcomes through the force. However, these destinies can be pretty vague and have to be interpreted by Jess herself.

2. Jess has an incredible amount of patience, mostly because she can see the humour in almost every situation and she doesn’t mind waiting if she is amused in the meantime.

3. She is a skilled warrior with double blades, both lightsaber(red and yellow) and vibroblades. She can handle herself in hand to hand combat too.

4. If she truly wants something, almost nothing will stop her from reaching her goals, and she is not above using any powers possible or playing dirty if it is convenient for her. However, this rarely happens as she is cocky enough to believe she can do most things with half her effort. 

5. Jess is very good at swoop racing and is NOT afraid of going fast. Mostly cause she doesn’t care if she hits anything on the way.

6. She is also a pretty skilled mechanic, she can fix any swoop bike and do small repairs/improvements on ships and other machinery.

RESTRICTIONS

1. Because she thinks she can sense the “will of the force”, she often blames the force for stuff that she alone is to blame for. She also uses it as an excuse, which is infuriating for her friends.

2. She strongly believes that people do not change; they can only realize potentials or go ‘off track’ on their destiny. If people change drastically, they either have always been like that without realizing or they are just plain wrong. So, if she has made her mind up about you, she rarely ever changes her perspective. For example: in her opinion, Bastila’s true destiny was being a jedi, so she was not very concerned when she ‘turned to the dark side’. 

3. This makes her very stubborn and stuck in her thinking. Once you get to know her, she is actually pretty predictable and sometimes really frustrating.

4. Jess is really arrogant and believes she is practically unbeatable, and that her ideals/ideas are always right. She cannot wrap her head around being wrong about something or someone.

5. She cannot cook for shit, which is why she likes making soups best (can’t burn that!)

6. Jess gets.. ‘moods’. These ‘moods’ are difficult to describe but the best similar thing I know is PMS, but different and very aggressive. During these moods, everything feels wrong and she’s like a spring full of tension about to jump up and blind someone. It’s like an accumulation of all the wrong things in her life (and there are A LOT) that sometimes just needs to… get out. She usually solves them by getting into a fight or physically destroying something, and then just waiting for it to get out of her system. Nobody really knows where these moods come from or how to solve them in a nonviolent way, but meditating with Jolee seems to lessen the aggression a little.

Curse words: Jess is one of those casual cursers who doesn’t even think about it anymore. So her fav is probably just “kriff” which she uses every other sentence. However, being around Mission (and Bastila tbh) would make her more cautious with her cursing. She also definitely picked up some Mando’a curses from Canderous.

Scents: The scent swoop bikes leave behind after speeding away, Kashyyyk after a rainy day, the smokey smell that’s present in the shady part of bars, the oily smell at the work bench, the black tea she likes to drink with Juhani. FUN STUFF

Bottom or top: Top but she also doesn’t mind switching

Sings in the shower: No, she absolutely hates her singing voice even after assurations from her friends that it’s fine. She doesn’t mind her normal talking voice anymore, but singing is just too deep and masculine and wrong and not her.

Likes puns: Yes. The worse the better. She would have the worst shit-eating grin on her face after telling one and she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from smiling.

Name: Emerald Aeducan.

Nickname: to most people she is either Emerald or Em but when she was a child, her relatives used to call her "Emmie" (even in the Prologue Trian was still using this nickname in a condescending manner). To Sten Emerald is simply "Warden". Alistair, Zevran, Morrigan and Oghren sometimes call her "Princess" and only the context says whether the intention was playful or hurtful.

Age: 23 at the time of her recruitment to the Grey Wardens, had her 24th birthday slightly over a month later.

Species: dwarf (Orzammar).

Morality: (at the time of Prologue) self-proclaimed lawful good, (after the Prologue) self-proclaimed neutral good. It is debatable whether she is truly good or just a neutral with a strong inclination to do good, especially to the people she cares about.

PERSONAL

Religion: officially she believes in the Stone and you cannot prove otherwise.

That being said, she is a chief supporter ONLY of the reformed "church" of the Stone - the foundation stays the same, but the principles are as follows: good people enrich the Stone, assholes weaken it, and your nobility will not save you from the Stone's scrutiny SO YOU BETTER BE NICE.

Sins: greed/gluttony/sloth/lust/PRIDE/~envy~/wrath.

Emerald's greatest fault is her pride. Although the time spent in exile made her, more or less, aware of her shortcomings and able to express genuine humility (or even self-deprecation of sorts), Emerald, deep down, is convinced of her superiority to ALMOST EVERYONE. She knows that she is awesome, she has the papers to prove it, and even if she does not flaunt her superiority in your face, you still ~know~ that she judges you in the categories "If I were you, I would never make any of your mistakes". She goes to great lengths to change it as the Queen.

Virtues: chastity/ CHARITY/ DILLIGENCE/ humility/ KINDNESS/ ~patience~/ ~JUSTICE~.

Ooh, it is a tricky one since Emerald does her best to project an idealized version of herself. That being said, her humility is more often than not depression-induced so it does not really count. Her first marriage was very chaste, but then she did not love her husband and so I would not count is as genuine chastity. She may appear patient but she is still very much struggling with it. She is also very just for someone raised as a spoiled noblewoman, but due to her sheltered life, I feel that she has still a lot to learn.

Known languages: her mother tongue is Common as spoken in Orzammar. 

As Orzammar is a fairly isolationist kingdom, I cannot say how much impact there was on the princess learning foreign languages. A language nerd myself, I like to think that Emerald knows at least a little bit of Orlesian (due to Orlais being Orzammar's best trading partner) and Tevene (due to the dwarven minority living there), but it is purely my speculation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For sure Emerald picks up random words and phrases from Leliana, Zevran and Sten - partially because she is a nerd but mostly because she knows that ~being more understood~ would make them happy.

A friend of mine saw Queen Emerald take off her shirt in the shower, and she said that Queen Emerald had an eight pack, that Queen Emerald was shredded.

(She seems curvy only to a non-dwarven eye, though. To dwarves her charms are only slightly above average.)

Scars/Birthmarks: information classified! She was lucky enough not to receive any scars that would be difficult to hide with casual clothing, though.

Abilities/Powers:

1. She is a born diplomat and a pacifist who will do her best to resolve a conflict without unnecessary bloodshed.

2. She is well-versed in Orzammar's politics and her unshakable composure attests to it.

3. She makes excellent first impressions and can befriend people easily. 

4. She is a good leader and advisor.

5. She makes for an empathetic friend who can listen to you rant for hours.

6. She is a good tactician and I firmly believe that she could beat Cullen in chess.

7. She is a trained warrior, by Landsmeet physically stronger than Alistair, who relies both on her smarts, her dexterity and strength.

8. She draws fun and happiness from the world's most boring hobbies which surely must be a some kind of witchcraft.

9. She shares Alistair's sense of humour, enough said.

Restrictions:

1. Her reputation of a fratricidal ex-princess makes any negotiations in Orzammar kind of difficult.

2. She speaks very posh which triggers some people's *Oghren, cough, Oghren* bratty princess alert.

3. Despite being well-versed in politics, she is a bit too idealistic, too merciful, and she used to trust her family members blindly.

4. Her composure does not really falter even among friends which gives off an impression that she is keeping distance... which she is, but not to THAT extent.

5. She is an excellent advisor… until she becomes frustrated because her advice is not listened to and her input is ignored.

6. She is good at listening to people for long periods of time, but if it is not important, she may not give the rant her full attention (getting just enough gist not to be accused of ignoring the person and dismissing the most of it when it is no longer useful).

7. She does not step up for a leadership position, despite her qualifications, unless the circumstances literally force her to do so.

8. As much as tactics go, she is miserable with games other than chess because either she will not realize that her opponent is a cheater (Isabella, round 1) or, which is worse, she will not be able to prove that her opponent is cheating (Isabella, round 2).

9. She is smart and well-trained but not very inspired as a warrior. She could be defeated by stronger people, more dexterous people, smarter people, luckier people or people who, like Kallista Tabris, are very dedicated to their craft.

FAVOURITES:

Food: anything that hails from Orzammar! Nothing makes you long for your local cuisine better than a bitter exile. Also, she would not put herself above eating a nug. Sorry, Leliana!

Pizza topping: (modern AU) corn and mushrooms. Emerald is by no means a vegetarian but she is very picky about meat so in most cases - a vegetarian pizza it is!

Colour: her all-time favourite is purple, but, frankly, Emerald is the embodiment of "Do you like the colour of the sky?" meme. Her exile to the surface made her aware of a brand new palette of colours and she loves them all. That being said, early on her "comfort" colours were the subdued earthy colours of Orzammar.

Music genre: she mostly listens to instrumentals, both in the canon and in the modern AU. She is very picky with songs, though I could see her enjoying a band as “low brow” as ABBA. During her exile she develops a soft spot for Fereldan folk songs and Leliana's Orlesian-Fereldan repertoire. 

Movie genre: Emerald is not much of a movie fan. Generally, she does not have time for them. She mostly watches documentaries with some classics/awards nominated movies thrown in for a good measure. She could be persuaded to watch something entirely outside her watching preferences when quality time with friends is the main incentive.

Curse words: Emerald does not cuss, especially not in public, but I think that there are certain dwarven words she says in her thoughts when the situation goes badly.

Scents: Emerald does not like the smell of the rain and she even agrees with Sten about Ferelden smelling like a wet dog, but during her rule there is nothing she misses more.

FUN STUFF:

Bottom or top: that is disgusting. And wrong. I don’t even get- why would- Her Royal Highness has never had sex with anyone, anywhere. It is none of your- you have- the nerve, the audacity, she is the Queen of Orzammar and about to get married. Warden Alistair is her former companion, barely, and he is just awful, humour-wise. And how- how- do I know, frankly, that you are not sleeping with him? Maybe you are. Maybe you are trying to throw me off? Hmm, check and mate.

Sings in the shower: not all all, she is too aware of her lack of singing talent. Sometimes she hums to herself, though.

Likes puns: all kinds of them, with strong preference to Alistair ones, and ability to make almost EXCLUSIVELY the terrible ones.

favourite colour: generally speaking - pink and blue, but I’ve been embracing the idea that any colour can be my colour. Last year I incorporated more red into my wardrobe and it was such a rewarding experience!

last movie: I don’t think I’ve seen anything since Marvel’s Black Widow back in December? Don’t watch it, it was a terrible movie. I took one for the team and everyone who watched it with me hated it, too. It was very smart of me to vow to never touch any Marvel movie after Infinity War. I should’ve stuck to that.

sweet, savoury, or spicy: I can’t handle much spice, though I quite like it in small doses; my all time favourite used to be sweet, but I’ve been slowly leaning more towards savoury these days so I guess I can’t say that it’s completely sweet?

currently working on: so... my fingers aren’t completely back to normal and I’m busy so I need to save my strength for Uni, but I wrote a short fic for DA2 recently and I would like to publish it on ao3 sometime this week. :)

last show I watched: if any, then I've recently started watching FMA:B for the first time with a group of Polish friends (I'm three episodes in). If in full... uh... probably Russian Doll? I don't think I've finished any series since Russian Doll, unfortunately. I seem to have a nasty talent of being able to drag watching any series into infinity, unless I'm watching it with someone else.

currently reading: Ropuszki (the second edition) by Aneta Jadowska, Naznaczeni błękitem by Ewa Białołęcka and Podróże z Herodotem by Ryszard Kapuściński.

currently watching: the second season of Kaguya-sama: Love is War!, though if you stretch "currently" by a bit, then also Pretty Cure: Tropical Rouge!.

sweet, savory, spicy: sweet > savory. I don't mind spicy food, from time to time, in small doses, but the "spicy" food that I'm actually able to eat most likely counts as "mild" to an average person so...

last movie I watched: I don't think I've seen anything since Little Women (2019) with @bluekaddis a few months ago.

ult groups: I don't listen to kpop much and certainly not enough to have any favorites (though the same could be said about bands in general, I've never been that interested in musicians) so no one, I guess. I'm open to song recs, though!

cravings: a cup of hot chocolate, perhaps one with a bit of Nutella.

hobbies: reading books (and comics), watching cartoons, learning foreign languages, generally learning about my areas of interest, writing, occassionally overanalysing things, thinking about my OCs and goofing around in The Sims. Drawing and painting when I’m not overthinking either.

feeling: a bit low, but it’s autumn blues, mostly, and I can’t do much to help it (I can’t risk straining my left hand texting with friends and laughing is a no-no right now) so I'll let it pass on its own.

seven comfort movies

Rules: name seven comfort films & tag seven people!

This is a continuation of the list of ten of my comfort movies that I compiled last year.

1. Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper.

If home could be a movie, this movie would be mine.

2. Barbie: Mariposa.

Mariposa overcoming her struggles makes me a bit hopeful for the future, too.

3. Barbie and the Diamond Castle.

Liana and Alexa’s relationship is everything to me.

4. Lilo & Stitch.

The best Disney movie about family. It tugs at my heart strings every time.

5. Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra.

I love this movie to pieces. I feel like I could rewatch it whenever. Also: Polish dub is absolutely excellent here as well.

6. The Emperor's New Groove.

Do I need to say anything? One of the best Disney movies ever made.

7. Shrek.

Polish dub of this movie is considered a national treasure, but, that aside, these dialogues just feel so comforting to me.
