Legolas saying ‘this city needs more trees’ is actually so valid. Not only from an environmental and social well-being point of view, but Gondor has one very important tree with very few fellows and therefore restricted access to nutrients, so the extended mycorrhizal network more trees would provide actively enhances the welfare of the white tree and symbolically the spirit of the nation. In this essay I will

Moving on now to the animated Return of the King. Did He-Man direct this? It's so, so, so 80s cartoon coded.
This movie is less than two hours and it includes all of Return of the King plus a recap of The Hobbit, Fellowship, and Two Towers. Peter Jackson could never.
OK but P.J. did spent a LOT LESS time showing Sam's journey into Mordor. Like, a lot less.
The orcs are singing. About being slaves. In an upbeat manner.
I think there's maybe about to be an orc v. man dance battle.
The song playing while Frodo sails off to the west includes the lyrics "if you never say hello, you won't have to say goodbye" and like, we do love self isolation...
Whoever voiced Gandolf in the '77 animated Hobbit sounds so much like Ian McKellen.
This seems like it was written as a parody of the Peter Jackson trilogy.
This is so '80s Saturday morning cartooon.

I am absolutely rolling at Elrond's original hairstyle for the coronation scene in The Return of the King. He is the one named Sailor Moon

like, that is the face of a man who was promised eternity with his daughter, a reunion in the west no matter what happened, only to lose her forever to love

Boromir “They took the little ones” really doesn’t get enough credit for how sweet he is to Merry and Pippin. Sword fighting and training with them, protecting them from orcs - despite his flaws he was kind at heart.

Then suddenly he beheld his sister Éowyn as she lay, and he knew her. He stood a moment as a man who is pierced in the midst of a cry by an arrow through the heart; and then his face went deathly white, and a cold fury rose in him, so that all speech failed him for a while. A fey mood took him.

if you picked no or didnt know they existed well:
The Hobbit (youtube upload. for some reason the hobbit radio drama has a lot of youtube uploads?)
LOTR Trilogy (internet archive. THE TRACK NAMES DONT SAY WHICH BOOK IS WHICH ASDFASF. It's all in order but its like 97 tracks)
anyways back when i was a teenager I watched the LOTR trilogy and then tried to read the books and failed... So i tried the audiobooks. Still failed. Then I found these audio dramas (radio plays, not audiobooks). i love them so much there is so much heart in these.
The Hobbit is my definitive version because i listened to it right after i watched the movies (the hobbit movies didnt exist yet, i stand by this radio drama version its incredible)

Then the heart of Éowyn changed, or else at last she understood it. And suddenly her winter passed, and the sun shone on her.  'I stand in Minas Anor, the Tower of the Sun,' she said; 'and behold! The Shadow has departed! I will be a shieldmaiden no longer, nor vie with the great Riders, nor take joy only in the song of slaying. I will be a healer, and love all things that grow and are not barren.' And again she looked at Faramir. 'No longer do I desire to be a queen,' she said. Then Faramir laughed merrily. 'That is well,' he said; 'for I am not a king.'
