Sunday Six (for the first time in a while, inspired by @realworldchamp and tagging anyone who's keen to share <3)

Still, Max manages to make his way to Punk, who blinks slowly as he comes to a halt before him. The bags under his eyes are deeper than the first time they'd met, he notices. A livid angry purple, like a bruise, and Punk sips his coffee, his gaze half-lidded like he could fall asleep right now.

“Can we talk?” Max asks, sweet as punch.

Punk sips from his cup aaaaagonisingly slowly. He pins Max in place with his eyes for long enough that he almost starts tapping his foot in agitation, before Punk finally fucking nods, just as slow and deliberate as his earlier blink.

He refills his empty cup, eyes never leaving Max, who's busy eyeing up the faint, discoloured stain on Punk's shoulder instead. A slightly darker patch, maybe a bit more transparent than the rest of the fabric, but not by all that much. A patch large enough to have been caused by the oil from somebody sobbing buckets into his shirt, perhaps.

Physical, tangible evidence of his effect on another person, and it makes the whole room shift on its axis like the gravity has changed.

And then Punk says, “Sure, we can talk,” and the spell is broken as he leads them into a corner of the room, away from pricked ears and watchful eyes.

“I need you to drop TB Tuesdays,” he says, because that strange gravitational pull is gone, but the need persists. He needs to cause an effect, to enact change. To leave a mark. And if Punk does as he asks… it's a sign that he still has that presence. He's not invisible. He's not forgotten by everyone. He's still somebody.

Punk raises an eyebrow as his mouth turns upwards in some kind of unimpressed smirk. It stretches out a small indent in the skin beneath his lip where he assumes a piercing had been, once, and he adds that to the mental dossier he's compiled on this strange man, while fighting the urge to poke it, pinch the flesh of Punk's lip between his fingers.

“And why should I drop TB on Tuesdays?”

He says it in a condescending way, but behind that condescension is a nugget of intrigue, Max thinks. It's not an outright no, which means Punk is entertaining the idea, which means Max has already won.

Ok I already reblogged this with my opinion in the tags but I decided I want to add more to this idea.

I like to think he did attend his own funeral. I mean, he can most likely pretend to be his own brother well enough to attend it without suspicion, at least to those that would attend Stanley's funeral. I mean, he fooled all of Gravity Falls for 30 years. Plus, I think it'd be more suspicious if "Stanford" got caught lurking around his "brother's" funeral in a bush without actually joining in.

And I love the questions this can raise regarding his reunion with Caryn.

Like, first off - did she realize she was talking to Stanley? Did she spend enough time apart from her boys to no longer be able to tell them apart? Or did she know exactly which one of her sons she was talking to?

If she did, that raises its own questions: how did she know? We can guess that Stanley hid his hands in one way or another (keeping them in his pockets, wearing mittens, etc), so the obvious way is out of the question. Did she pick up on some old behavior habit? Did she just have a gut feeling that the man with her here is not her Stanford?

ALSO - if she did know, did she tell him she knew? Or did she choose to keep it to herself? Maybe she was second-guessing her own intuition - why would Stanley be at his own funeral, masquerading as his brother? Where would Stanford even be if not at his brother's funeral? No, no, this must be Stanford, she'd be insane to assume it wasn't!

If she didn't realize Stanley was pretending to be Stanford at the funeral - was it because Stanley, even after so long apart, can pretend to be his brother so accurately that even their own mom doesn't question it? Was it because Caryn hadn't seen them in so long that she forgot every little behavior or other "tell" that would let her know which kid she's talking to? Was it both - that Stanley was just good enough at pretending to be his brother to fool his mom, who barely knew either of them anymore?

Also, this is only tangentially related to this post - where was the rest of twins' family? Where was Filbrick? Was he dead already? Did he just not want to attend the "worse" twin's funeral? Would he have attended if it was Stanford's?

I wonder if he ever reached out to "Stanford". I wonder if he ever said anything about Stanley, if he ever berated his "failure" of a son to the "better" one, or if he expressed even an iota of regret towards his treatment of Stanley - maybe if he hadn't kicked him out, maybe if he wasn't so tough on him when he was a kid, maybe, maybe, maybe.

I wonder if Filbrick was mentioned in conversation during the funeral, even in passing. If he was still alive, did Caryn try to excuse her husband's absence? And if he wasn't alive - how long had he been dead? In how short of a time span did Caryn lose both her husband and her son?

And where was Shermie in this? Did anyone even tell him Stanley had died? It was the 80s, getting information around wasn't as easy as it is today, it wouldn't be weird to assume only his parents were made aware of Stanley's passing by the authorities. Also, if you assume he was younger than the twins - did he even know anything about Stanley? Did he choose not to attend his funeral simply because he felt too far apart from his own brother that it would've felt like going to a stranger's funeral?

If you assume he was older - did he feel a grudge towards Stanley because of what got him kicked out? After all, one of his brother's sabotaged the other one for no apparent reason and screwed up his chances to go to an amazing college (let's not forget, this was in the 70s and the Pines are canonically Jewish - not every college admitted Jewish people back then. In fact, the 70s are when antisemitism in higher education started (just started!) gradually disappearing, so chances are he wouldn't have gotten anything nearly as good outside West Coast Tech). Did he refuse to attend because of spite?

I have a very normal amount of thoughts about this, as you can see :3

I was assuming that Stan didn't actually attend his own fake funeral, just like watched from the bushes or something, because that's how fake funerals usually go. But I realized he may have actually attended as "Ford," which. What a reunion with your mother

The sky was dark as you lifted your window open, stepping out onto your fire escape as quietly as you could, very much aware of your parents window right next to yours. Once you were sure your parents hadn’t woken up, you made your way to the roof, a blanket and a few cans of soda in your hands. You smiled when you reached the roof, seeing someone leaning over the edge, staring out into the skyline of the lit city.

“Hey, Spider-boy.” You said as you walked closer. Peter smiled to himself before turning around and seeing the smile wide on your face. “Catch!” you said quickly before tossing a can to him, hearing his laugh as he caught it in the air, just as quickly bringing a hand to wrap around your waist to hear you giggle before kissing you, not pulling away until your head was starting to become dizzy.

You bit your lip when he pulled away, taking both your drinks and setting them on the ledge. “I was beginning to think you weren’t coming.” Peter said under his breath as he watched you roll your eyes, smacking his arm gently before unfolding the blanket.

“Dad stayed up late, had to wait until he was asleep to sneak out.” Peter nodded as he wrapped his arms around you again, this time bringing your back to his chest, letting you both stare out at the city.

“Next time tell him to go to sleep earlier.”

You couldn’t hold back the laugh that spilled from your lips at his statement, Peter’s own chuckles sounding in your ears. “Oh yeah, that’s gonna go well. ‘Hey dad! Do you think you could go to bed earlier so I can sneak out and meet Peter on the roof like I do every night? Thanks!’” It was Peter’s turn to roll his eyes as he bit back a smile.

“You’re so dramatic.” He pulled you closer to him as he wrapped the blanket over his shoulders, making sure you were wrapped as well.

“I might be, but my dad would kill me and you know that.” Peter nodded, remembering the night your dad almost caught you sneaking out one time. He was furious, you thought you would be grounded until college. Peter’s smile slowly slipped off his face as he stared out at the city again, falling silent. You turned your head, seeing Peter deep in thought as you shifted slightly to face him a little. “What is it?”

“Hmm?” Peter mumbled as he tore his eyes away, finding yours as he saw them filled with worry. “Nothing. I’m just happy being here.” He put a smile on his face, hoping you wouldn’t see through it, but you had.

“Peter.”

“I can’t wait until we’re older.” He blurted out and you felt his hands tighten around you. You furrowed your brows, silent motioning for him to carry on. “We can run away and be together. Don’t have to worry about anything. Just us.”

You tried to hide the loving smile on your face as you turned back to the city, feeling Peter’s head rest against yours. “You’re dreaming, Parker. Running away…” you felt Peter chuckle as he kissed your shoulder. You met his eyes again, his deep brown ones reflecting the lights of the city perfectly as you brought a hand up to his cheek. “I would love to run away with you Peter, more than anything. I wanna spend every day with you. I can’t help it, I’m pulled to you, it’s like… it’s like…” you took a breath trying to find the words.

“Gravity?” Peter offered with a shy smile as you bit your lip, nodding quickly.

“Yes. It’s like gravity.” Peter listened to your giggles, happily enjoying the comfort you’ve made between each other.

“Well, if it makes things less awkward for you,” Peter began as you scoffed playfully, beginning to unwrap yourself from the blanket before Peter’s arms were on your hips, turning you around to face him as before the blanket was on the ground and his lips were on yours. “Gravity pulls me into you, too.” He whispered against your lips before kissing you again, neither of you wanting to stop.

You pulled away first, putting a quick kiss on Peter’s nose before backing away and grabbing the sodas. By the time you had them both opened, Peter had already spread the blanket on the ground and was sitting on it, leaving room for you to join him.

An hour later, your head was resting on his lap and your sodas were gone, both of you laughing at Peter’s story of his patrol today. Once the laughs died out, you were left staring up at Peter whose bright smile lit up his face as he looked at you.

“It’s getting late.” He muttered, glancing to the watch on your wrist. You nodded but made no move to get up, instead you shifted so Peter had room to laying down next to you, letting you cuddle into his side. Peter pulled you into him, feeling your arms snake around him when he closed his eyes. He knew you both would have to go back down to your apartments soon, but right now you were both happy to fall asleep in each other’s arms.

Right now, you were just a couple of kids falling in love.

My 1+Million Word Fic

So. Reichenbach Falls. My long-term project which I started writing this May, 2020. I have 3 seasons planned, and this is the most ambitious fic I’ve ever got into writing (ha, and it’s only my 2nd published fic), and it’s also multifandom - SuperWhoLock. The ol’ Holy Trinity. 

I originally intended for RF to be separated into 3 parts, due to 3 seasons. But. I actually decided against it because since it’s a big project across 3 fandoms, and an AU of a 4th one (Gravity Falls, though you don’t need to know the show to read or understand the fic). I also want to write it in such a way that those that aren’t familiar with SPN or Dr Who will understand and enjoy the other characters such as the Winchesters without having necessarily seen the show.  (On this front I myself am catching up to SPN so I do a good job characterising the peeps)

So. Season one, Deja Vu, consists of 100 chapters, 20 episodes, each episode has 5 chapters. I have a minimum and a maximum limit per chapter, ranging from 3.5k - 7k words for now. Each episode so far comes up to around 22k words, and I’m too scared to do the math, but that’s a shit ton of words right there. And that’s just season one.

And due to the lore of the fic expanding with each and every day as I come up with potential ideas of future episodes, I am going to keep all three seasons in 1 so it is all in one place. 

I am looking at this picture and I feel small. This jumped from 101 to 303 in a second as I hit ‘post’. But you know what? That’s the good thing. Writing this fic, which was prompted by @tuoshpreecq​ sometime in March/April this year, was the best thing that happened. 

Why? Well, it keeps me working, it makes me grounded in my work ethic when it comes to writing, which is something I struggled with before. With @iris-best-taken-in-small-doses​ we discussed WIPs in one of her more recent posts, and she’s made some very good points. Because yes, I do have titles for all 20 episodes of season 1, and even a small description to know where I want to go with it, but the rest is up in the air until I actually sit down and start writing. Act 2 and Act 3 are faintly plotted, but the 100 chapters per season is only an estimation for now when it comes to them. That’s why writing WIPs is a thrill, but also a source of insecurity, but as Iris beautifully pointed out in her post, ‘Life isn’t plotted, why should our stories be?’

I have a fairly good idea of where I want this fic to go, but the thrill of leaving it open and taking it further as I drive up to it in my imaginary Chevy Impala 67 and snatch that wig off fabulously is even better. 

Don’t get me wrong, I am a control freak and I find myself in need of having at least 5 episodes pre-written so as to be safe with my schedule and posting because I like that little touch and discipline for me, but do I know what’s gonna happen in episode 10 when I start writing it after I’m done with epsidoe 9? A little. But most of that gets switched for even better ideas as I go with the flow. 

So mathematically speaking (I’m bad at it), this fic will be over 1 million words long by the end of season 1, possibly. I really can’t do math guys, I slept for 2 hours. 

But yeah. It’s going to be quite the journey. There’s johnlock, destiel coming (no pun intended), another implied ship I won’t spoil yet, forces of evil, mysteries - all fantastical in nature, and one hell of a ride. 

I’ll have to do a bit of maintenance cleaning, though. I need to add a Table of Contents at the very beginning where I will add about the episodes and seasons -- meaning which ones are completed and all that. And also keep track of tags, which ones to add and such jazz.

So, I forgot where I was going with this. Guess I just wanted to share what kind of package I’m going to carry for the next 2+ years :D it’s going to be fun! And I love every interaction that comes the way of the fic. There’s so much I planned, so much fluff, twists, adventures, my friend @jasombee​ is even so kind to be making fanart (and did some already, check the tag #reichenbach call and #reichenbach falls), it’s awesome. I hope to bring some joy to people with this, because what started as a small project keeps expanding and growing, and while it’s fundamentally terrifying, it’s also fulfilling. I can’t wait to bring you along the adventure as it progresses; there’s so many details and symbolism I’m putting in, even cameos (like Nicolas Cage possessed doll, Freddie Mercury [still incoming], Neil Gaiman, Steph from inevitably-johnlocked [with her consent ofc] and so many more) and memes, andthe beautiful ships I mentioned above and their character development -- I want to make it fun, and write something I’d read. 

I may write up a follow up post on how I roughly colour code my episodes to keep track what is done and what isn’t, because the system works well for me, so I guess I could share? Shed some light into my workaholic mind :D

WLW Fic Rec List

I promised a random anon I would give ‘em a more complete list of recs several months ago so here- in no particular order I have, Glee, Pretty Little Liars, Pitch Perfect, Girl Meets World, Supergirl, The 100,  The Good Place, and Riverdale. 

There’s very little porn without plot in here, but I went through my favorites on fanfiction.net and my history on Ao3 and if I recognized the fic I put it down. So some might have slipped through.

As I was going through these and rereading some old favorites I forgot about I wrote little bios. If your work, or a work you really like doesn’t have a bio it’s just cause I remembered it was really good and didn’t feel a need to reread it. If you want comment your own and I’ll edit the post and give you credit. 

The minimum qualifications for all of these were:

At least 2k words for a one shot, if it was a multi chapter there had to be at least 1k words per chapter (For example: 14 chapters, 14k words)

It had to be completed or updated in the last year ish (but like I was flexible based on the quality, and if I knew the author or the deal or not)

It had to be Ao3 or Fanfiction.net and tagged appropriately (so I could find it)

Also I never really got into g!p stuff because I ran into a lot of transphobic or just really offensive stuff early on which put me off of it.

Or the alpha omega stuff, when my goach found out I was reading fanfiction she said ‘great just nothing with alpha omega shit okay” and that was like four years ago but I don’t care enough now to start. So none of those are on here (maybe in faberry but I don’t think so)

And they also had to be english, my spanish is still pretty bad so I can’t really read any of those- sorry :(

But let me know if the link ain’t right. And if you think something should be added let me know too, and I’ll read it and add it, and give you credit. My tastes have changed over the years to be slightly so if there’s something here that you think is distateful message me being like “can you reread this?” because it might’ve slipped through. Or I might be like “m8 thats some gay ass shit right there, agr33 to disagr33.” We’re all just here to read out otps getting together again and again in different ways, let’s just be chill about it

it’s called contraband for a reason - written by one of the best clexa authors of all time it’s hilarious, sweet, in character, poignant and well done. At times the format takes away more than it adds but it allows the reader to compare and contrast the beginning and the end and see the character’s develop more clearly.

there is no sweeter innocence (than our gentle sin) - this author may or may not be a genius Imma go binge all of their works and let you know. This was vv good at least. One shot

we’re only young & naive still (the bittersweet between my teeth) - part of that gaf au (you can find here) that I love so much... just a one shot but the different perspectives are done really well which is a hard thing to do well

Before Words, Beyond Silence, and it’s unfinished sequal, In the Screaming Silence - it has that satisfying instant clexa connection while not sacrificing plot or angst, no trust me, it didn’t sacrifice angst. I think the ice queen plot was a little rushed but it’s still fantastic and I’m excited to see where the sequal goes!

Skylark -  A superhero fic that’s pretty damn cool. Clarke and the gang had illegal experiments done to them by Mount Weather and it gave them superpowers. They fight crime while trying to remain anonymous as well. This story is so clever and incorporates the City of Light/chips/ flame so cool, and Clexa are badasses, and just…read it, trust me. Hooked on a feeling - an HP au I waited a million years to be updated and then finally was and what I’m trying to tell you is it’s amazing and worth it and wonderful and fluffy and I’ll love it forever

gera’s step-sister au - a lot of porn, Idk why but I tried to read this a billion years ago but I reread it recently and loved it. But yeah - definition of porn with feelings

Come Morning Light - this author writes a lot of kid fics but this is one of my favorites. In character and well written with a heartbreakingly poetic style. I love it.

most ardently - like some of these authors fics are amazing (like this one) and some are dumb as shit and like? Are there co authors? Are you like multiple people? I don’t know but this was amazing, historical clexa is historical clexa. Has some themes of the suffragette au from my first rec list but carves out a nice space for itself.

Punchline - a oneshot where Clarke wanders around the world and runs into Lexa a lot except it’s angsty and beautiful and there’s a lot of imagery

clexa eternal au - painful heartbreaking well written fantastic. I love most of the stuff by this author too so like you can’t really go wrong

Very in character, very true to high school I think, and funny and sarcastic and well written. it’s a highschool au but it’s more in character than that, and there’s plenty that links it to canon. I prefer canon tbh, but this was a nice fluff break

The Taste of War and Heartache - angsty and unfinished this is another incredible work by thefooliam. I would ten/ten reccomend because where it leaves off is pretty okay. It’s a canon au but it has some modern elements for those who prefer that. Really a great fic.
