@5ftjewishcactus
Right? Now I need a When Harry Met Sally AU (“When Eddie Met Steve,” lol) where Robin and Nancy play their best friends who also fall in love, but are wayyyyyy more normal about it than Steddie.
That’s another great subgenre: Steddie fics where the side pairings (Ronance, Jargyle, Jancy, Byler, etc.) are so beautifully normal, it really highlights how fucking ridiculous these two silly boys are.
#replying to replies#5ftjewishcactus#Steddie#lol#these boys are silly little beans#stick them into every romcom AU#it works

@salamanders-please
Yeeesss.
The lack of spaces makes it so difficult to parse where words stop without kanji there to help you and it really slows you down. Even a simple sentence like 「ははははをみがく」 is a pain to read versus 「母は歯を磨く」.
Kanji can be intimidating, but god, once you know it, it's so hard to go back to only hiragana.

legit so annoyed about the way the corporate media wants to paint those women waiting outside the court as crazy and as only being there because Luigi is hot. I looked up pictures of them outside the court and they all held signs and were there to send a message: "health over wealth", "denial of medical care = violence", "murder for profit = terrorism", "the United States healthcare stole my livelihood", "insurance lobbyists line politicians' pockets", "healthcare reform NOW". Yeah, they're there because he's hot for sure. Also, there were a lot of men as well but hey, that's not helping the narrative right?

when will we talk about the willful helplessness epidemic on here. So many people on this god forsaken website demand to have any and all things that exist outside their personal experiences directly, personally pre-chewed and spoonfed to them. And when you do, they'll then ask for you to swallow for them, too, because, you see, in THEIR experience..,
#this is about people who show up in the replies asking shit that has already been answered in the replies#this is about people who show up in reblogs asking people to explain very obvious things to them that'd take one second of listening to#others' experiences to be aware of#For the love of god if you're presented with information or turns of ohrase that conflict with your personal experience don't just sit down#Consider that perhaps things unlike you exist and that things that are one way for you may be different for others#This isn't difficult you just need to stop centering yourself as the only point of reference you have#you're not. There is so much more than you out there. And you can hold it and know it#you just need to get the FUCK OVER YOURSELF#fucking christ#mumblr#problemnyatic thoughts

Replying to Reactions - Strictly Pleasure Pt 17
If you haven't seen it, Strictly Pleasure Pt. 17 has been available!
@deltoroist
Thank you so much! I like to explore all the emotive aspects of sex, too. Sometimes, I feel like more mainstream smut (like stuff that goes through a traditional publisher) makes everything so sweet and almost insta-lovey without touching deeper places in a relationship.
Either way, I'm glad my writing came off as hot and wholesome!
@rhainakincaid
Between Artuk and Travis, Heidi has been stuck in unhealthy or outright abusive relationships for most of her adult life. She's still working through those feelings.
Being a mom, feeling judged, and now going to court makes a person feel like all of their moves are being watched and how that reflects to the greater society.
She feels bad for wanting sex when she has "bigger things to be focused on" as a mother.
@missnargaluna
Yeeeeeeee!
@secret-fic-stash
I'm sorry for making you rabid? lol
Yes, it took them a very long time to have sex, despite working in a sex shop. That was actually intentional on my part. 😈
I'm glad it had the effect I hoped for.

@ikeracity
Ike ❤️😭 Thank you for saying so!
Even if those posts get only one or two notes, I’m taking that as a sign that someone enjoyed it. Whether it was a fic they knew and loved before, or they were discovering it for the first time. Or, very rarely, the author found it (which… 😳🫣). If anything I said about any of the fics encouraged people to read them, that’s the important part.
No matter what, I was glad to do them. Even more glad to be able to keep a consistent posting schedule for an entire year, lmao.
Definitely gonna try to start doing them again eventually.

this post is fearmongering. the results of this study are concerning and should definitely be a matter of public discussion, but this is certainly not the conclusion the researchers came to.
the point of the study was to assess the risks of exposure to toxic metals- something one of the co-authors notes are “ubiquitous” fwiw- via menstrual products. Their research confirmed that these metals are indeed present in tampons, but no further conclusions are drawn. it is possible the metal entered into the cotton from the soil, which is a well-known phenomenon; cotton is so good at lifting heavy metals that it has actually been suggested as a part of the solution for revitalizing polluted ground.
the authors conclude with an acknowledgement that the study should be repeated- their sample size was 60 tampons- and a suggestion that further testing ought to be done to indicate whether or not these metals can even leech out of the tampon in the first place, let alone whether or not such leeching could occur at levels deleterious to human health.
there is, in fact, a body of research- too small, for sure, but much larger than this single study- indicating that long-term proper tampon use has no observable negative impact on health. i am grateful and thrilled that more research is being done and i hope that this study is the first of many on this line of questioning, but i am really frustrated at this post and the response it got.
obviously, if this study alters your approach to menstrual health, more power to you. consumers should be informed-risk-takers, and menstrual health is double-obviously a very personal choice. but it definitely wasn't the researchers concluding that you ought to “avoid using tampons at all cost," only this tumblr user did. the lead author of the paper, in fact, specifically says that she hopes people do NOT panic about the results.
(the notes of the post were disappointing. people affirming that they knew they were right to be suspicious of tampons all along, or even recommending alternatives that actually have very little to no research regarding the safety of long-term use, etc. it’s a different conversation, but categorical distrust of tampons is old-school misogyny. you certainly shouldn't wear them if you don’t want to, but there is nothing inherently scary or wrong about them, and people who prefer them are not being reckless or crass.)
((if you're really worried about exposure to heavy metals, you may want to turn a critical eye to fast fashion, as an aside))
#couldn’t reply to the original#so. sorry for the screenshot lol. but i can't put my two cents there. and this topic bugs me (grew up in anti-tampon country)#(Utah)#i do not blindly believe that tampon brands are looking out for us or anything. i hope that comes across here.#anyway. it's something to keep an eye out for more research. i hope this team is able to continue their work

I hope things are going well for you too! :>

So as you may have realized, I haven’t been posting that frequently in a while, mostly because my handy dandy updated job schedule that leaves me very little free time. But I’m still here, don’t worry.
However low posting frequency also means I have been accumulating asks since April and the inbox has gotten big. I usually try not to have so much backlog of asks because it really messes with the cross referencing of old posts and new ones but now I have 50 unanswered asks and 8 pages worth of words. That’s the longest document I’ve had in only asks. So I’m going to be answering them over the next couple of days. This means that my inbox is temporarily disabled until I am down to 0 once again.
I’ll try to answer them all by order of similarity, that way I have to cross reference to previous posts a lot less and they’ll be all in just one place when I come back in the future to pick up a thread. So let the reply fest begin I guess
But that’s the tea

So there's the idea of "kitchen table poly," AKA "everyone in the polycule needs to be able to sit at a kitchen table together and get along like friends."
One of my roommates just came up with a counter idea, which is "poker table poly." Everyone in the polycule must be enemies. No one is allowed to get too chummy or they're kicked out. They all also likely owe eachother money.
#nz.txt#someone on Mastodon replied to this with ''this is just Homestuck'' and...yea ur right#textpost#shitpost#polyamory#100#500#1k#5k#10k
