I've been working on my story, Rave, since I was 13. It's gone through beginning to end reworks, edits, scraps, and I've finally hit a point where I am happy with it. These two journals are the hand written copies I've carried with me so that I can work on them wherever I go. (There's an additional yellow composition notebook not picture, that I gave to a friend as a gift, thinking I'd be done with this project much sooner than I was.) Now I get to do the next step of getting this thing published while I work on book 2, Renegade. It's a labor of love that I'll happily keep dedicating myself to, even if some days the creative juices refuse to cooperate. Rave: Chronicles of the Below synopsis:
__________________________________________________
The Infected belong in the Below. Everyone knows their mutant powers are too dangerous, and the only way to keep things safe for both sides is to keep them seperate. Seventeen-year-old Tameryn has been “invited” to the Below, but she has no intention of letting the government rip her away from everything she’s ever known. After all, even the orphanage she grew up in sounds better than the lawless underground city where they send people like her. But she can’t run away forever. Unrest is brewing in the Below, and Tameryn finds herself mixed up with rebels who stand between an up-and-coming dictator and her hold on the city. For the first time, Tameryn is free to fully use her abilities, but an unexpected rumor that she’s a master assassin precedes her, leading her new friends to believe that she’s holding back a great power. Everyone wants Tameryn’s mysterious superpower, and she must choose a side. Will she work with a tyrant who promises her a return trip to her old life in the Above, or will she fight for her friends’ vision of a better future in the Below?

Noddist fans, we're getting a new Blood Sorcery Ritual, 2 new Oblivion Ceremonies, 1 new Loresheet (!), Disciplines (!!), and new texts that aren't included in the original book (!!!!!). The Book of Nod Apocrypha sounds amazing!
This PDF is included in the Deluxe Artifact Edition too, but I'm so glad it's available separately for much cheaper. :'D
EDIT: added image ids below the cut!
[[Image ID 1, screenshot from the Renegade Game Studio shop. For sale is a PDF of the Book of Nod Apocrypha, for $12.00 USD. It has no reviews as of yet. The cover page is partially cut off, but what is visible is a deep black background with a symbol of skulls aligned to form a peace sign.]]
[[Image ID 2, screenshot of the item description of the Book of Nod Apocrypha PDF. It reads:
Mature Content Warning: contains graphic and written content of a mature nature, including violence, sexual themes, and strong language. Reader discretion is advised.
Want to get the most out of the legendary Book of Nod in your game?
This companion volume provides clear and legible versions of various texts and fragments collected in the Book of Nod Deluxe Artifact Edition so they are accessible for all Vampire fans. Storytellers will also find advice for using the Book of Nod in their chronicles, with attention paid to some of the props found in the Deluxe Artifact Edition. Found within these pages are also 2 reprinted Blood Sorcery Powers, 1 new Blood Sorcery Ritual, 2 new Oblivion Ceremonies, 3 reprinted Loresheets, and 1 new Loresheet. These collected and new options can be used for Storyteller or players' characters alike to support the portrayal of Noddists, scholars, cultists, and other seekers of Kindred myth and history.
This 40 page PDF includes:
Storyteller prompts and hooks for using the Book of Nod in your chronicle
Apocryphal texts which Aristotle deLaurent [sic] didn't include in his version of the Book of Nod
Text of Kindred Traditions and legal documents
Collected and new Loresheets as well as Discipline Powers, rituals, and ceremonies useful for Noddists, scholars, and true believers.]]

Disabled Characters Showdown
Notes:
1.) Characters are listed below the cut because there’s a ridiculous amount of them.
2.) This is going to be a 128 person showdown. Because of this there are going to be a few adjustments from how we normally do our polls. First- not all characters will have character descriptions, because we have neither the time or inclination to do so. There still will be character images along with image descriptions, but that’s about it. Second- because of how many polls this is, the first round will be released in waves of 16 polls per day over the span of 4 days. The other rounds will not be impacted. Third- the first wave of polls will be dropping on the 28th.
3.) If you want to submit propaganda about any of these characters feel free to because otherwise you will get things like this: “Haven’t the faintest clue who this is, so you get no context.” You can also submit character images because most of them will be horrible due to us just pulling most of them from the fandom page.
4.) If you have any issues about any characters feel free to shoot us an ask. That being said, this poll isn’t really about who is the best representation. See more details here. If you are wondering why a character is on the list feel free to ask and we’ll tell you but we’re not gonna put on reasoning for all of the characters.
5.) We tried our best with some of the names, but also are not familiar with some of the characters on this list so if there’s any issues there please let us know.

Final book of Renegades, people. NOW THAT IS A BOOK COVER!
No seriously, look at this. You got the protagonist walking on a pile of rumble in their costume while lighting's flashing through the sky. Just like a supernova. Ha, see what I did there :)
Anyway, like I said, Supernova is the final installment of Renegades and lemme tell you the ending was PRICELESS! No spoilers, I promise. So like before, we still have some secrets we have to uncover with our characters. And like before they will shock you.
So, was I right? You can comment below if you want.
Anyway, what I love most about the final book is the character development that follows. I think I said this with the first book but I'll say it again anyway. Turns out the secrets not only shock you, but the characters themselves. Both secrets and lies have dropped onto the table and just like that, a wave of realization courses through your mind. It feels like when you finally find the missing piece of a 500 puzzle.
One of the things that stumped me was the ending. Now I know I said I loved the ending, which I still do, but it still kinda confused me. I can't reveal too much, but let's just say I found it a bit cliche. I mean there was one part of the ending that I loved, but other than that, I felt like Marissa could've done better with some of the other ones.
Overall, I was amazed by how much work this author put into this trilogy. Once I get home from college, I'll do a book review of The Lunar Chronicles next. I can't wait to show you all the books that I loved and helped me to grow over the years. And the wonder authors that made it possible.
That's all for now. Until next time, stay on track and stay in the pack.

Great... what's next?
"and then tag as many people as you have WIPs"- incorrect-green-lantern-quotes
*glances up at small library-sized list* Oh no.
Uh, I guess I'll just tag everyone I follow. That's probably not going to be enough, but Tumblr probably won't let me tag enough people anyway.
Here we go:
@zeroducks-2 @weir-wulf @apple-eating-goat @taxi-cab-to-slowtown @somebodyssherlock-heterodyne @wonderjanga @frownyalfred @gabedemon @givemewallywestorgivemedeath @cowsabungus @nerdpoe @talon-dragonbeast @it-wants-a-name @biggest-gaudiest-patronuses @ftl-faster-than-life @amorkuku @bats-and-the-birds @waynethings @incorrectbatfam @incorrect-quotes-batfam-edition @boringsickness @cy-cyborg
ty @shoot-i-messed-up for inviting me (technically my main blog @light-the-spark-of-dawn but I realized that some of the people I'm gonna tag might not know that one) to this ask game
rules: make a new post with the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! and then tag as many people as you have WIPs
WIPs:
Kim & Kal
Ichibayashi
Uncle Hal
Branching Paths
@effietrinket1619 @ikibli @oceanicairways @aj-artjunkyard you've been drafted (no pressure) and anyone else who sees this and wants to play can also join in!

I love gilded!! It’s straight up fantasy, not sci fi like Lunar chronicles or Renegades. Renegades is still my favorite MM series, but Gilded is a close second
Very very minor spoilers for the book below the cut, only for the purpose of giving some content warnings:
be warned that it really leans into the Grimm fairy tale vibes, so it’s a little violent compared to her other books. I loved it because it gave off soft horror vibes and I like that stuff in my fantasy, but it can throw people off. It’s still YA, but a I’d say it’s a touch older than Renegades or Lunar chronicles. I think the MC Serilda starts as an 18 year old instead of Nova and Cinder who start at 16 and there’s at least one closed door sex scene. Very closed door, but still.
anyone that has read renegades trilogy and the gilded/cursed books mm wrote:

Would you be willing to share your hmc essay you wrote for Columbia 😳👉👈
I didn’t really write an essay on it (kinda want to write it for fun though...), just used it for the short answers about favorite books and movies! I’ll paste the book one below.
List the titles of the books you read for pleasure that you enjoyed most in the past year. (150 words or less)
I started this list out with Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, but it ended up becoming a 369-word love letter to my favorite book. Rest assured, I read this at least 3 times this past month alone. Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles and Renegades series, along with her standalone book Heartless. I’ve always loved fairytale retellings so her books are like a watering hole in the sweltering desert. The Six of Crows duology which literally left me speechless. It was. Just. Wow. I’ll Be There by Holly Goldberg Sloane seems like it should be cheesy, but it left my heart racing. Ender’s Game, which is a classic for a reason! Circe by Madeline Miller, because I loved her other book, the Song of Achilles. She surpassed my expectations. Emperor of All Maladies by Siddartha Gautama, an amazing look into the history of cancer.

Characters in the Disabled Characters Showdown
Notes:
1.) Characters are listed below the cut, because there’s a ridiculous amount of them. Depending, some of the characters may not be in the showdown, however, if you submit one it will probably be used
2.) We are still looking to have more characters submitted and will update this page accordingly. At this point we are looking at doing a 128 person showdown because we’re extra like that. We’ll see if that actually happens but it seems probable. Characters can be submitted in the notes of this post or in an ask.
5.) Characters can be entered until June 27, with the showdown kicking off a couple of days later.
6.) We tried our best with some of the names, but also are not familiar with some of the characters on this list so if there’s any issues there please let us know.

Quarantine Books!
To put it simply, I read a lot. Whenever I find my personal reality to be lacking I search for an escape to a far off land with magic and love and adventure. And lets face it, my personal reality is pretty tedious, especially since I’ve been stuck in quarantine due to COVID-19. As everyone else is also practicing social distancing and might find themselves with a bit of free time, I thought I might encourage you all to turn off Netflix and seek out an alternative form of escapism.
Below is a list of some of my favorite and recent reads! Fair warning, they are all very much of the fantasy/romance/save the world genre.
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
Need I say more? This series is a classic and if you have’t read it yet I’m not sure why you’re still on this page GO READ HARRY POTTER. Even if you have read it before I would really encourage you to reread it! I got so much more out of it the second and third (and fourth and fifth) time around! The boy who lived, loved, suffered, endured and smiled is a story worth hearing over and over.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
This series is amazing and is directly responsible for reconnecting me to reading in college. It follows the story of 19 year old Feyre, a certified badass. And the story doesn’t stop after the first book but gets SO MUCH BETTER. The second book, A Court of Mist and Fury, touches on depression and abusive relationships while continuing with an exciting plot. You won’t want to put this series down!
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Buckle down because this series is long af, but so incredibly worth it. It begins with probably the most badass character I've come across, Celaena. Her journey throughout 8 books is filled with multiple plot twists, amazing characters and story of sacrifice, love and acceptance of who you truly are.
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
This complete universe created and perfected by Clare will always have a special place in my heart. Watching Clary and Jace’s story unfold throughout 6 books, 2 wars and trying times is so worth it. The author does an amazing job of weaving her fantasy universe throughout one of the most interesting places on Earth- New York City!
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
The prequel series to City of Bones takes place in 1800s London! The three main characters create a truly unique love triangle that I’ve never seen before, or since. Each character is so easy to love and I always, and I mean ALWAYS, cry at the end of the final book.
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
The sequel trilogy to City of Bones takes place 5 years after the end of the Mortal Instruments series. I just have mad respect for Clare creating an entire universe and 3 different series within it that keep the readers interested. I wouldn't read these until after you have finished both of the two previous series mentioned!
Circle of Shadows by Evelyn Skye
I loved this book just because there’s nothing like a warrior best friend team that takes the matter of saving the country into their own hands. The second book in the series was just released and I’m planning on reading it as soon as I can.
Abandon by Meg Cabot
Perhaps not my favorite book, but it was a very easy read and is good if you’re looking for something short and simple. It puts a fun modern twist on the tale of Hades and Persephone. Not to mention it takes place in Florida!
The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye
Three interesting characters make for a fun read about magic in imperial Russia! I haven’t read the rest of the books in the series but am planning on it!
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
It doesn’t get better than Forks, Washington. Even if Bella Swan isn’t the most sensational girl I've ever met, I dream of the day I have two extremely hot supernatural boys fighting over me. But seriously, is Bella like always crying or is it just me?
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
One of those ordinary-girl-discovers-she’s-extraordinary books which makes for a fun read. I’m currently on the second book. Netflix recently wrapped filming for season 1 of this upcoming TV series but hasn't released its debut date yet!
Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
Awesome series set in an interesting fantasy world! It’s about a main character who has to come to terms with who she is and figure out how to save her people against all odds. Two cute boys definitely enhance the plot.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
A twist on stories of the Fae, it follows the tale of Jude as she tries to be accepted in a world that is not her own. Plus, nothing gets your blood going like a hot enemy.
Some classics I love:
Peter Pan
Pride & Prejudice
The Swiss Family Robinson
Treasure Island
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
The Great Gatsby
The Call of the Wild
The Hobbit (+ Lord of the Rings)
The Chronicles of Narnia
Bonus: Poetry!
100 Selected Poems by E.E. Cummings
Milk and Honey
Mother Love by Rita Dove
The Complete Poems by John Keats
Odes by Sharon Olds
The Essential Rumi by Jalal Ad-Din Rumi
I HIGHLY recommended starting with one of the books that looks like this because they are truly some of my favorite! Finally, I thought I would include my personal reading list in case you weren't interested in any of the above.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Renegades by Marissa Meyer
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
An Affair of Poisons by Addie Thorley
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
Little Women by Louisa M. Alcott
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
