When Zachary came back home again, Anya was waiting for him outside.
"I thought that was you coming back. How did it go?" Anya asked as he approached her "Good. My application for the teaching job was approved. There will be a trial period, but as soon as Diane is ready to retire I will take over as the new teacher.. Most likely, anyway" he frowned. "How are you guys holding up? I'm really sorry for your loss". "Thank you" Anya smiled sadly. "We're okay. It wasn't entirely unexpected. Jaxson was old, but it's still hard to accept that he’s not around anymore". Zachary nodded. "Of course"
They stood awkwardly in silence for a while, until Anya finally broke it.
"If you want someone to show you around town, just let me know. I would be happy to. I need to get out of this house, anyway and I... I would like to get to know you better"
There was something about her smile... Zachary wasn't completely sure, but it seemed.. flirtatious. Maybe? Watcher, he hated this. How was he supposed to know? He opted to not flirt back. He wasn't sure how to, anyway.
"Uh. Sure. That would be nice. I've got some unpacking to do now but.. We could make some plans later?" "Great. I'll see you later then"
Zachary and Anya started flirting the first chance they got x.x They share two bolts, but Anya lost her husband the night before and Zachary JUST moved in. It's way too soon xD Also, he's supposed to be unflirty XD So I kinda wrote the situation a little different than it played out in game, because this made more sense to me x)

Tactical Shotgun…Beretta 1301 Tactical
I will be the absolute first one to say that I am indeed NOT shotgun guy. Quite the opposite. Other than the little bit of hunting I’ve done over the years with a shotgun, I’m just not that guy. They always seemed to be too much with little to gain. Capacity limitations, much greater recoil than a rifle as well as such a variety of shells… I just never really went down that road. A couple of years back I got a Charles Daly AR-12 which is basically a 12 gauge shotgun that’s patterned roughly after an AR-15. It take detachable mags. I wasn’t sure if I was going to care for it, but it’s turned out to be one fun shotgun! Fast forward to this year, I had been looking heavily at adding a purpose use tactical shotgun to my collection. Not that the AR-12 isn’t already, but it’s truly not meant for hard use. I wanted something with a proven track record. Enter Beretta and their tactical shotguns. They had the 1301 Tactical for a while and recently introduced a cheaper tactical shotgun, the Ultima A300 Patrol. I went back and forth on both of these, but ended up going with the Beretta 1301 Tactical from Brownells. I opted for the only version they had in stock at the time. This version comes with the Mesa Tactical stock and pistol grip which is what all tactical shotguns should have in my opinion.
First impressions of the Beretta 1301 Tactical after it had arrived to my FFL was just how lightweight it was. I do own a few shotguns in total, a Remington Pre-Model 11, an 1187 Sportsman and that Charles Daly AR-12. All of these, especially the Remingtons seem much heftier than the newly acquired Beretta tactical blaster. Knowing what I know about recoil, weight is your friend, but not in a tactical environment when you’re carrying your firearm and needing to wield it in different directions. The Beretta 1301 Tactical is quite handy with it’s 18.5” barrel. My first trip to the range to see how it runs was quite the success too. I anticipated much more perceived recoil, but was pleasantly surprised when shooting game loads and a couple different types of defensive 00 buckshot loads from Hornady and Winchester. One of the other attributes that Beretta touts that makes this shotgun stand on top of the heap of other tactical shotguns is their blink recoil system. It’s a gas operated recoil system with a rotating bolt and Beretta’s claim of 33% faster than other semi auto shotguns seems to hold water in my experience thus far. It’s a fast shooting shotgun!
So even though I’m just now touching my toes into the water of the tactical shotgun world, the Beretta 1301 Tactical has me very excited so far! Glad it happened to come in stock over at Brownells just in time for me to snatch it up and see what this thing is all about. I’ve already started adding a few things like a sling, red dot and some shell holders. Really looking forward to where this will take me.

This is a fic I’ve been writing on study breaks that you have probably all already seen at this point. I’ve affectionately named it the Goblin Brain Fic because it’s helping my brain actually get motivated for studying. I’ve slightly edited it for wording and grammar, but not for content from my previous posts. Feel free to send in asks to direct it because I’m not 100% sure where this is going and you can help decide if you feel so inclined! You can see the process I went through to build this at this link.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 My Master Post
Logan was a calm man. One would have to be with his chosen career path. Much of it was waiting quietly for the perfect moment or doing rapid calculations in one’s head while in the midst of danger and chaos. He had not made it this far in his career by being prone to emotional outbursts or irrational behavior
Logan was a calm, rational person.
Which is what he told himself even as he threw his phone across the room and it smacked the opposite wall. “God dammit Patton!” he yelled as the other employees in the control room all paused to glance at him before quickly looking away.
He took a deep breath and walked across the room to his phone. It was, of course, unharmed seeing as Roman had specifically worked with a manufacture to produce him an indestructible phone for his last birthday and on top of that had given him a life proof case for it.
Roman, his son, who he had not heard from for over an hour at this point. He clenched his fist around the phone. He could not get emotional about this. That would not be productive at this point. He needed to think. He needed to plan.
He needed someone to answer their phone.
Hearing of Remington’s death was already destressing enough on a personal level as he’d known the man for years. As a father himself, he had understood why Remington had wanted to be on desk duty since his son was born and had respected that. Emile at the time hadn’t even been a legal adult and there was the real risk that if something happened to Remy that his son would end up in the hands of the boy’s mother who at the time had simply been considered a “raging bitch” according to Remy, but had later proved herself that and more. So, Logan had never even thought about having him back in the field until Virgil was at least 18.
Yet, it had still happened. He was still dead, targeted by Virgil’s own mother.
As he imagined Remington would want, Logan’s first thought had been for the man’s son and he’d immediately dispatched Roman as he’d been the closet agent to the man’s house at the time. That is when things started to go even more wrong than just a missing agent.
The last Logan had heard from his own son, he’d been tracking down Virgil Gates and whoever Roman had assumed attempted to kidnap him. He’d found the kidnapper’s car still down the street and texted Logan that he’d checked the nearby bus station and would check the park next.
Thinking he’d had that sorted with Roman on finding the teenager, his mind had wandered to Janus, the boy’s brother. Logan had worried that Janus would have an intense emotional response to the situation and had sent the agent a fake mission in hopes of distracting him until the issue with Virgil was sorted. The text had been marked as ‘read’ only a few moments later, but there had been no response. That was… concerning to say the least. It was possible he had heard of Remington’s death himself and was distracted, but there would be no reason for him to ignore Logan’s text as he shouldn’t be aware Logan himself knew of Remington’s death. In fact, it would be more in character for him to text Logan back and inform him of the issue in that case.
After waiting for a few more minutes, he tried texting Roman again and got no response and then he’d tried again, and again. Soon it had been 20 minutes since he’d last heard from Roman and he’d attempted to call him. He hadn’t gotten an answer. After a few more phone calls he’d tried to call Remus to ask him if he’d heard from his brother, but he hadn’t answered either. He’d continued to rotate between calling and texting the two of them and sometimes Janus hoping one of them would pick up, but none of them did. With no word from either of his sons or his double agent about their whereabouts or the missing child’s, he’d decided to call the boy’s uncle.
When that phone call ended with a car honking and a scream and none of his attempts to call back got any response, Logan really started to panic. Or worry. Not panic. Concerned even.
Logan started to get a healthy amount of concerned.
There were only thousands of reasons he could think up for the radio silence from everyone with a connection to his agency in a certain geographical reason especially directly after the confirmed death of one of his inactive agents who lived in the area. Surely one of those thousands wasn’t that every one of them was dead including his own sons.
Thinking about his family, it occurred to him that considering Patton was an agent (though on vacation at the moment) and also lived in the area, he needed to call his brother as well. The relief from his brother actually answering his phone was quickly burned away by agitation as he was not where he was supposed to be (though a voice in the back of Logan’s head did wonder if perhaps that’s why he was still able to answer his phone) and was instead on an impromptu “road trip.” After providing no other information to Logan, Patton had hung up on him. He’d been sent to voicemail halfway through the second time he’d tried to call back; the bastard had turned off his phone.
So, the question was what to do now. He collapsed back into his seat and glanced at his phone hoping he’d received some form of communication from anyone in the last minute, but alas there was still nothing. He was regretting making his agents cell phones untraceable right about. He wondered if he could hack into Nelson’s network without her realizing; he knew she kept trackers on her agents. Janus at least would have his phone from her, and Remus might. Assuming, of course, she hadn’t ordered a hit on them and taken back the cell phones herself. He wouldn’t put it past her.
It was worth a try at least, he decided, booting up his computer. He had a better chance now since Janus had let him look at his phone a couple of times. However, neither of them had wanted to risk trying any hacking on it. Nelson had no qualms with taking out her own family after all. Logan had been suspicious that she’d killed Logan’s mentor years ago but hadn’t had any proof. Janus had confirmed this as fact almost two decades later when he’d told Logan she talked about the fact that she had killed her own father to him.
Remembering that fact made him more nervous for Janus (and Remus by extension). They had always been very careful, but the risk was still there. Not to mention if Janus was in emotional distress over the death of Remington then he might be less careful. He distracted himself from those churning thoughts by turning his attention back to the computer.
He wasn’t surprised that there were no weaknesses in her security that he could find. After all, they’d had the same teacher and she had doubtlessly learned more from him over the course of her life since she’d been his daughter. He took a break to look at his phone again after 10 minutes.
There were still no messages from anyone. He tried to call everyone’s phones again in quick succession, but no one picked up. He’d just pressed end after the voicemail picked up for Roman once again when a voice interrupted him.
“Sir?” Darlene said tentatively.
“Yes?” he ground out, still looking at his phone. He was trying not to snap at any of his employees, but it was getting difficult.
“We pinged an outgoing call from Virgil Gates cell phone,” she said.
“What?” Logan asked looking up at her. Both he and Roman had tried to call the boy’s cell phone, but it had gone directly to voicemail, and they’d assumed he’d either ditched the phone or turned it off. “Show me.” He got to his feet and she led him over to another computer.
On her computer, a map was pulled up and a little red dot lit up the place the call had come from. “Where is he?” Logan asked.
“Around Livensburg,” she answered.
“That’s almost 80 miles from the city,” Logan said. At least he was moving closer to Logan’s location instead of farther away.
“Well he seems to be on the interstate,” she pointed out. “Pretty easy to do.”
“Yes, the question is how the 15-year-old is getting down the interstate,” Logan said. “Check bus routes and calls to taxis,” he said to the room at large before turning back to Darlene. “Who did he call?”
“He was trying to call Emile Picani.”
“And didn’t get through I’d imagine.”
“No,” she confirmed.
Poor kid, Logan thought. “Well at least we have a starting point. I’ll send another team out to the location, though extreme caution will be advised.”
“I’ll go,” Fredrick volunteered before he could even ask.
“Thank you,” Logan said.
“I can go too,” Darlene suggested.
Logan nodded. “Because of the phone communication issues at the moment, I’m giving you a long-distance listening device and I expect you to have it on and on one of your persons at all times.”
They both nodded and Fredrick turned to go get the proper supplies while Darlene looked back at her computer.
“Another phone call just went out from Virgil’s phone,” Darlene said. “It’s to the phone you provided Janus Nelson. There’s no answer there either.”
Well that answered rather or not Janus was ignoring him in favor of worrying for his brother. Clearly something else was going on and Logan was afraid of what.

The Springfield SCHV Infantry Rifle
In 1957 Willard G. Wyman, Commanding General of Continental Army Command (CONARC), began a programme exploring the small calibre, high velocity (SCHV) rifle concept. Wyman invited both ArmaLite and Winchester to develop SCHV rifles in .22 calibre. The result of these efforts was the ArmaLite’s AR-15 won out over Winchester’s Light Weight Military Rifle. While the CONARC effort didn’t directly lead to the adoption of the AR-15 it aided its later adoption.
ArmaLite and Winchester, however, weren’t the only organisations working on a SCHV rifle. The Ordnance Corps’ own Springfield Armory also developed a short-lived SCHV design, the ‘Caliber .224 Springfield Infantry Rifle’. Springfield’s rifle was based on a .22 calibre cartridge designed by Earle Harvey in early 1957. Harvey, the designer of the T25/T47 series of rifles, based his round (just as Eugene Stoner based his) on the commercial .222 Remington round but developed a cartridge with a 47mm long case and used a 55-grain FMJ projectile. The rifle itself took cues from other Springfield designed weapons but Albert J. Lizza and his team went with rotating bolt but used a gas system similar to the M14s. Lizza was subsequently granted two patents for work on the rifle, one for the rotating bolt and another for its disassembly system.

Only one prototype was completed by mid-1957 and the project was cancelled by the Ordnance Corps, who favoured the M14 and the 7.62x51mm cartridge, feared that a SCHV rifle developed by a government agency would add legitimacy to General Wyman and CONARC’s burgeoning .22 calibre project. While the rifle was subsequently abandoned Remington asked Harvey if they could put the round into commercial production, the result was .222 Remington Magnum.

The SR-25 (Stoner Rifle-25) is a designated marksman rifle/semi-automatic sniper rifle designed by Eugene Stoner and manufactured by Knight's Armament Company.
The SR-25 uses a rotating bolt and a direct impingement gas system. It is loosely based on Stoner's AR-10, rebuilt in its original 7.62×51mm NATO caliber. SR-25 barrels were originally manufactured by Remington Arms with its 5R (5 grooves, right twist) rifling, with twist 1:11.25. The heavy 20-inch (510 mm) barrel is free-floating, so handguards are attached to the front of the receiver and do not touch the barrel.
In the late 1950s, Eugene Stoner designed the AR-10 battle rifle to equip U.S. troops. It was accurate for an auto-loading rifle, but it lost the competition to the M14 rifle. The patent rights for the AR-10 and the AR-15 were sold to Colt's Manufacturing Company. Colt focused on the AR-15, giving others the ability to capitalize on the AR-10 system.
In the early 1990s, Stoner joined Knight's Armament Company and continued his AR-10 design work. The end result was the SR-25 (adding together the numbers of the AR-10 and AR-15) which improved the AR-10 design with M16A2 advancements and parts commonality. The original SR-25 was released in the early 1990s and had a heavy free-floating 24 in (610 mm) match grade barrel with a fiberglass handguard. It had a flat top upper receiver with a Mil-Std 1913 rail for mounting optics and a 2-stage match grade trigger. The bolt carrier was similar to the AR-10's, being chrome plated and having a captive firing pin retainer pin. The SR-25 was designed specifically to fire 168 gr (10.9 g) open-tip match cartridges. Accuracy was guaranteed at or under 1 minute of angle. At first, AR-10 type 20-round magazines were used, but they were later replaced by steel 20-round magazines resembling those used by the M16.
The United States Special Operations Command took interest in the SR-25, particularly its high magazine capacity and faster engagement time compared to bolt-action rifles. After some modifications, SOCOM adopted the SR-25 as the Mk 11 Mod 0 in May 2000. Changes included a shorter 20 in (510 mm) barrel that could fire M118 and M118LR 7.62×51mm NATO rounds and had a quick detachable sound suppressor mount. An 11.35 in (288 mm) free-floating handguard rail system allowed mounting accessories. Flip-up front sights and adjustable back-up iron sights were added, and an M16A2 stock and pistol grip were used.
Beginning in mid-2011, SOCOM began divesting the Mk 11 Mod 0 from their inventory and replacing it with the SSR Mk 20, the sniper variant of the FN SCAR. The Mk 11 is to be completely replaced by 2017.
The SR-25 enhanced match rifle utilizes the newer URX II Picatinny-Weaver rail system, rather than the older Mk 11 free-floating RAS, on the top of the receiver to accept different scope mounts or a carrying handle with iron sights (front sight mounted on the rail located on the forward end of the non-modular handguard). The match version is designed to shoot at a precision of 0.5 minutes of angle, which corresponds to 0.5-inch (13 mm) groups at 100 yards (91 m).
The Mk 11 Mod 0 system is chambered for 7.62×51mm NATO, and is designed for match-grade ammunition. The Mk 11 system includes the rifle, 20 round box magazines, QD (Quick Detachable) scope rings, Leupold Mark 4 Mil-dot riflescope, Harris swivel-base bipod on a Knight's mount, and QD sound suppressor, which is also manufactured by Knight's Armament Co. Flip-up BUIS (Back up iron sights) are attached to the modified gas block and upper receiver.
The Mk 11 Mod 0 utilizes an Obermeyer 20 in (510 mm) match target barrel, along with a RAS (Rail Accessory System) fore-end made by KAC, consisting of an 11.35 in (288 mm) long match fore-end. The RAS allows for quick attachment/detachment of MIL-STD-1913 components. The aluminum fore-end makes no contact with the barrel forward of the receiver, allowing for extreme accuracy. The Mk 11 Mod 0 has an empty weight of 15.3 lb (6.9 kg), and an overall length of 45.4 in (115 cm). The civilian version, using the longer 24 in (610 mm) match barrel, is guaranteed to produce groupings of less than 1 in (25 mm) at 100 yd (91 m), or 0.3 angular mil, using factory match loads.
During the Iraq War, the United States Marine Corps ordered 180 Mk 11 Mod 1 rifles. These were Mk 11s equipped with the upper receiver of the M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System. The M110 upper gave the Mk 11 Mod 1 a URX modular rail system and a flash suppressor on the barrel. These saw limited use before they were phased out when the Marines chose to purchase the Mk 11 Mod 2, which was simply the USSOCOM and U.S. Navy designation for the complete M110 rifle.
The new SR-25 Enhanced Match (E.M.) Carbine is very similar to the KAC M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System, though the M110 utilizes the newer URX Rail system, a length-adjustable fixed buttstock, and an integrated flash suppressor. Starting late 2011, USMC snipers will replace Mk 11 Mod 0 rifles with the M110 on a one-for-one basis.

OPORD: OPERATION MILK-HEAT
TIMEFRAME: 14 OCT-31 OCT 2016
Area of Operations: Wabakimi Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada
SITUATION: A. Enemy Forces: Eight (8)- Ten (10) members of a species named “Wendiigo” have been roaming the Canadian wilderness for the past six months. They are a tall, heavy creature built for speed and strength. Limited intelligence exists other than lore and scant detail from unreliable encounters. Some sources state that these creatures are prior human beings so PSYOPS may be an option. Color ranges from black to dark earth tones with glowing eyes at night. Uses claws, teeth, and rash attacks at its offense.
B: Friendly (Indigenous) Forces: Royal Canadian Mounted Police operate a small detachment near the park, but have all but been exhausted during their hunt of the creatures. No support other than for insertion, extraction, supply drops, and intelligence on the region will be given. Indigenous Forces are evacuating local residents and those engaging in outdoor activities throughout the area of operations for the duration of the mission.
C: Intent: To locate, identify, and destroy the threat to bring back stability to the region while assisting local forces/civilians to safety.
MISSION:
Operational forces will be inserted into the area of operations through float plane. Three (3) CC-138 “Twin Otter” float planes will insert a total of twenty (20) men consisting of three LRRP sized teams and one (1) STA size team [six man and two man respectively) onto Omdahl Lake at 0630 hours local time.
Team will conduct a Long Range Recon type patrol of the Area of Operation, attempting to locate and destroy the threat whilst setting up a Forward Operating Base (FOB) out of one of the remote cabins throughout the area northwest of the region.
Team will depart from Fort Hope Airfield and fly into the area of operation Approximately 85 miles South West of the airfield. From there, the aircraft will take off and returning to Fort Hope to retrieve additional supplies such as portable canoes and man portable UAVs before returning to drop off these as well as additional supplies at both Omdahl and Crozier lakes before returning to Fort Hope to remain on standby for immediate evacuation of wounded personnel. Once the team has reached a suitable FOB they will begin to set up defenses and bring about a reconnaissance schedule. The three teams will operate on a “Sleep, Watch, Hike” schedule, with one team on a recon patrol on a designated route, another maintaining defenses around the F.O.B, and the final team resting/sleeping while acting as a quick reaction force for the team on patrol. The defensive team will also have access to one of the three provided RQ-11B “Raven” Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, with the other two RQ-11B's being deployed with the reconnaissance and STA teams out in the field.
Reconnaissance Teams will operate on a three day rotation, taking a day to maneuver to a designated area, setting up a patrol base, gathering intelligence on possible enemy location, while setting up potential ambush points to try and lure enemy forces into suitable kill zones. On the third day, the reconnaissance team will maneuver back to the FOB and relieve the next team going out on patrol.
The STA team will operate out of the FOB on five day missions, moving farther out than the reconnaissance teams, using the Raven UASV as their advanced out of sight force multiplier, and using surrounding elevation to scan for targets, use tracking skills to look for previous signs based on intelligence provided, attempting to guide reconnaissance teams to a suitable kill zone of their own. The STA team will return for two days to resupply at the FOB and rest.
Each reconnaissance team will have at least two suitable members trained in tracking, and wilderness capture techniques.
LOADOUT:
Each reconnaissance team will consist of three rifleman armed with LWRC IC .308 rifles, two machine-gunners armed with Ohio Ordnance M60E6 Enhanced General Purpose Machine Guns, and one medic armed with a Bravo Company Manufacturing CQBR MK18 chambered in .300AAC Blackout. Best Duty Rifles: Popular Military, Police Contract Winners
While it may be difficult to gauge just what makes the best rifles for duty use, the same models keep popping up in large military and police contracts.
FN 15
The FN 15 Tactical variant includes the 3-prong flash hider found on the FN SCAR rifles that reduces flash, a mid-length gas system with an H1 buffer to decrease recoil, as well as Magpul furniture and an M-LOK accessory mounting system.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety– the Palmetto State’s troopers– in March signed a deal for 600 FN 15 Patrol series rifles to replace their shotguns. Previously, the Killeen, Texas Police Department ordered 213 FN 15 Carbines for their use.
The 5.56mm-caliber FN-15, produced in Columbia, South Carolina, uses a six-position collapsible buttstock and a 16-inch barrel as standard. Equipped with FN’s Combat Trigger and a direct impingement action, they are semi-auto only.
Commercially, FN-USA markets both the FN 15 Tactical and FN 15 DMR.
Sig Sauer M400
Sig Sauer’s M400 series includes several models, such as this entry-level Tread variant.
Detroit SWAT picked Sig Sauer’s M400 series for a big rifle contract last year, followed quickly by Philadelphia‘s tactical units. Features standard across the series of 5.56mm rifles with a direct impingement gas operating system include a full-length free-float M-LOK handguard, six-position telescoping stock, enhanced SIG trigger, and a rotating lock bolt.
“The M400 rifle is designed to exceed military standards to be the most accurate and reliable rifle in its class, which makes it an optimal choice for specialized law enforcement units in extraordinary enforcement situations,” Tom Jankiewicz, Sig’s executive vice president for law enforcement sales, said of the model previously.
Commercially, Sig offers several M400 variants starting at $799.
Sig Sauer MCX
What’s not to like about the MCX?
Another entry from the New Hampshire-based powerhouse is the MCX series. Earlier this year Florida’s fourth-largest city, Orlando, moved to equip their police force with this new Sig Sauer rifles as standard equipment. OPD chose the MCX Virtus variant to equip not only uniformed officers but detectives, watch commanders, and sergeants as well. At the same time, across the pond in England, London’s Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officers – dubbed C-men – have also gone with MCX Carbines.
The Virtus debuted in 2017 in both pistol and patrol rifle variants with the longer of the two featuring a five-position side-folder stock, ambi controls, 16-inch hammer forged barrel, free-floating M-LOK handguards, and Matchlite Duo two-stage trigger. The 5.56mm modular rifle, which Sig explains was developed with the Special Operations community in mind, accommodates 500 combinations and is enhanced for a 20,000-round service life.
Military Contracts
Colt M4/M4A1
Long one of the top 5.56mm carbine makers in the world, Colt has also won tenders to equip various police forces around the world as well as pulled down Pentagon contracts for their M4 series rifles. In 2018, the Connecticut-based company grabbed a $57 million contract issued by the U.S. Army for guns intended for Jordan, Morocco, Afghanistan, Senegal, Tunisia, and Pakistan. In addition, their LE6940 and LE6920 series rifles have proven popular with police users.
LMT
Indiana-based LMT, formerly Lewis Machine & Tool, has been winning bids left and right to equip Allied countries with 5.56mm and 7.62mm carbines and rifles. Last month, the company confirmed they have been selected to provide up to 16,000 of their MARS series rifles, including AR-15 and AR-10 types, to the Estonian Defense Force. The Estonian award is not the first large overseas small arms contract for LMT, as the company is fresh off supplying the New Zealand military with over 9,000 of that country’s new MARS-L rifles. This came after a $30 million deal for 7.62mm DMR rifles with the United Kingdom in 2009.
Remington R4
In 2013, Remington Defense won a contract to supply the Armed Forces of the Philippines with 40,000 select-fire R4 5.56 mm carbines in a deal worth $47 million. Since then, the award increased to 63,286 weapons, with deliveries taking place over the past several years. This has followed with smaller contracts through the U.S. Army “on behalf of key international allies.” Meanwhile, police in Queensland, Australia have been issuing the R4 Patrolman series for years.
Remington Defense is now aiming to make several models– once distributed to LE and military channels only– available to the commercial market so you can expect the model to join Big Green’s standard R-15 series in coming weeks. Watch this space.
SIG716
A big enchilada in the gun industry recently went to Sig Sauer when they pulled down a contract to supply at least 72,400 new rifles to the Indian Army. The 7.62x51mm SIG716 rifles will partially replace that country’s domestically produced INSAS 5.56mm platforms, the 716 is an enhanced AR platform featuring a 16-inch barrel, M-LOK handguards, and a six-position telescoping stock. The company confirmed on they will be American made in their New Hampshire factories.
Semi-auto versions of the 716 are readily available in Patrol and DMR format.
Check out Guns.com for these rifle models and others, often in both Certified pre-owned and new condition.

When Zachary learned about the recent death of Jaxson, he decided to give the family some space to grieve. He had a few errands to run, anyway. As he was leaving the lot he ran into Melody Hart.
"Oh. Hi. I don't think we've met before" she smiled. "I'm Melody" He shook her hand. "Zachary Knight. I just moved in, actually. I'm staying with the Remingtons until I can afford my own place. Uhm. Nice to meet you" Zachary couldn't help to notice how pretty Melody was. A two-bolter for sure. He blushed. "Uh. Anyway. I was heading to the bank, so I should probably…" "Of course. I didn't mean to hold you. It was nice meeting you, Zachary. See you around"
They waved goodbye. Zachary looked after her as she walked off in the other direction, with an image of her smile burnt into his mind.
20 minutes later he arrived at the new bank & career services to check if there was any update to his application for the teaching job in Neptune. If everything went smoothly, he would take over as the teacher at the elementary school after Diane retires.

How to choose the best blower brush?
In the past, before major technological developments, daily hairstyling at home was long and laborious, especially when you tackled a brushing yourself. It consisted of holding a hairdryer in one hand and a hairbrush in the other for a good half hour or more. To get curly hair, my mother used curlers, a method that took hours at the time. For those who did not have the time or energy to take care of their hair, a trip to a hair salon was necessary.
Now we no longer have to spend a lot of time, putting in too much effort, or spending money to get a trendy hairstyle from the comfort of your home! All you need is a good blower brush to dry, straighten or curl your hair and only 10 to 15 minutes after you have washed your hair.
How to Choose a Blower Brush: The Complete Guide
We are all looking for a practical, fast and economical solution to make our hair look great, even when we get out of bed! From smoothing to curling through waving hair or simply adding volume, the blower brush and very versatile and has become over time the miracle and very affordable tool, also used by the big names in hairdressing, and will no doubt become your best friend every morning.
A blower brush is a device intended to give style to your hair with the minimum of effort. It combines two essential hairstyling devices in one product: a brush and a hair dryer. It saves a lot of time and greatly simplifies the "do it yourself" method during your daily preparation It is not surprising to learn that this type of device has quickly become one of the best hairdressing devices to home in recent years.
From BaByliss to Remington , to hair care giants like Philips , each manufacturer of hot air blower brushes has come up with products that all have different options. With so many options and models available on the market, looking for the best product that will meet your needs can seem quite confusing. How to get out in this jungle and find the brush you need and choose between a good and a bad model?
In the morning, when I get to my office, I like to hear my colleagues complimenting me on my hairstyle and wondering if I have a hair salon downstairs to go there every day. The truth is that I use a rotary blower brush that I have owned for almost a year. I even take it with me when I go on business or travel. A purchase that I do not regret at all!
What is a blower brush?
A hot air blower brush is a type of tool specially dedicated to hairdressing at home but also used by professional hairdressers. This type of product is used like a conventional hairbrush combined with a hair dryer. This allows a free hand to separate the strands and give style to your hair effortlessly.
The blower brushes are made up of "bristles" fixed on a tube having holes allowing the hot air to pass through. The cylinder is generally fixed in the extension of a handle resembling that of an ordinary hair brush but on which will be present the rotation speed and temperature selection controls. Some models also operate on battery, which is perfect when there is no electrical outlet near your mirror.

ArmaLite AR 15 Versus the AR 18 The ArmaLite company has been manufacturing weapons for many years and the ArmaLite AR 18 was produced as an alternative to the AR 15 or M16 rifle. The difference between the AR 15 and the AR 18 is that the AR 15 was built from mostly machined parts while the AR 18 was designed to be mass produced using stamped steel pieces. While the AR 15 design was popular as a military rifle, the AR 18 didn’t receive as much acceptance as a field rifle and, as a result, was overlooked by many military groups including the US Army. In today’s market, the AR 18 can be difficult to find due to its limited production numbers.
Other Manufacturers Like the AR 18 Design Despite the design’s lack of attention from the US military, other countries saw the design as highly-usable and production began in Japan, Malaysia, Lebanon, and Ireland. These countries used the weapon extensively in their military and law enforcement groups. The popularity of the design led ArmaLite to produce additional units for domestic buyers in the United States.
AR 18 Features
The ArmaLite AR 18 is built with the following main features:
● Caliber: .223 Remington M193 (5.56×45 mm) ● Action: Gas operated, rotating bolt ● Overall length: 37 inches - 940 mm ● Barrel length: 18.25 inches - 464 mm ● Weight: 6.8 lbs (3.09 kg) with empty 20 round magazine ● Magazine capacity: 20, 30 or 40 rounds
The original AR 18 came with three firing positions, which included an “Automatic” switch; however, the models available on the market have only single shot and semi-automatic settings.

US Snipers Shooting with the Monstrously Powerful Rifles - The U.S. Army Academy M40A5, M107 Barrett and M110! The videos on this channel were created to inspire and/or motivate people to accomplish their goals and ambitions to join the military, a special forces team or in any other aspect of life. US Snipers fire various sniper rifles while conducting a marksmanship training exercise at a range - compilation. Footage include a live-fire exercise while at sea to practice defending the ship against small boat attacks; aerial sniper training aboard a MH-60S Seahawk helicopter above the Pacific Ocean; check and fire long-range rifles to maintain proficiency. - The Barrett M82, standardized by the US Military as the M107, is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic sniper rifle developed by the American Barrett Firearms Manufacturing company. It is used by many units and armies around the world. Despite its designation as an anti-materiel rifle, it is used by some armed forces as an anti-personnel sniper rifle. It is also called the Light Fifty for its .50 BMG (12.7×99mm NATO) chambering and significantly lighter weight compared to previous applications. The weapon is found in two variants, the original M82A1 (and A3) and the bullpup M82A2. The M82A2 is no longer manufactured, though the XM500 can be seen as its successor. The M82 is a short-recoil semi-automatic firearm. When the gun is fired, the barrel initially recoils for a short distance (about 1 in (25 mm)), while being securely locked by the rotating bolt. After the short travel, a post on the bolt engaged in the curved cam track in the receiver turns the bolt to unlock it from the barrel. As soon as the bolt unlocks, the accelerator arm strikes it back, transferring part of the recoil energy of the barrel to the bolt to achieve reliable cycling. Then, the barrel is stopped and the bolt continues back, to extract and eject a spent case. On its return stroke, the bolt strips the fresh cartridge from the box magazine and feeds it into the chamber and finally locks itself to the barrel. The striker is also cocked on the return stroke of the bolt. The gun is fed from a large, detachable box magazine holding up to 10 rounds, although a rare 12-round magazine was developed for use during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. - The M110 Semi Automatic Sniper System (M110 SASS) is an American semi-automatic sniper rifle/designated marksman rifle that is chambered for the 7.62×51mm NATO round, developed by U.S. firearm manufacturer Knight's Armament Company. The M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System is intended to replace the M24 Sniper Weapon System used by snipers, spotters, designated marksman, or squad advanced marksmen in the United States Army. U.S. Army soldiers from Task Force Fury in Afghanistan were the first in a combat zone to receive the M110. The troops rated the weapon very highly, noting the quality of the weapon and its semi-automatic capabilities compared to the bolt-action M24. The United States Marine Corps will also be adopting the M110 to replace some M39 and all Mk 11 as a complement to the M40A5. The rifle is similar to the SR-25/Mk 11 Mod 0, but differs significantly in buttstock and rail system design. The SR-25, Mk 11 Mod 0, and M110 are based loosely on the original AR-10 developed by Eugene Stoner but feature additional refinements instituted by KAC to maximize parts commonality with the AR-15 design, improve weapon reliability, and increase accuracy. - The M40 rifle is a bolt-action sniper rifle used by the United States Marine Corps. It has had four variants—the M40, M40A1, M40A3, and M40A5. The M40 was introduced in 1966. The changeover to the A1 model was completed in the 1970s, the A3 in the 2000s, and the A5 in 2009. Each M40 is built from a Remington 700 bolt-action rifle, and is modified by USMC armorers at Marine Corps Base Quantico, using components from a number of suppliers. New M40A5s are being built, and A1s are upgraded to A3s and A5s as they rotate into the armory for service and repair. The rifles have had many sub-variations in telescopic sights, and smaller user modifications. The M40A5 incorporates a detachable magazine and a threaded barrel to allow for the use of a sound suppressor or other muzzle device. I will upload the video everyday! So, why wait? How to build an AR rifle
The AR model rifles are characterized by the configuration, versatility and modularity. So, it is overwhelming when it comes to make the choice while buying them. To select the gun the manufacturer should be of the utmost importance. The manufacturers of AR rifles include Armalite, Colt, Bushmaster, FN Manufacturing, Hesse, Wilson combat, Les Baer and Olympic Rock River Arms, Stag Arms, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Remington Arms. The barrel size and the barrel material is also important while purchasing a rifle. If you are purchasing for self-defence, then a short barrel is considered more efficient than a long barrel and it is also advised that the barrel material should be of steel if extra accuracy for a specific purpose is not need. You should also keep in mind that chrome coating will improve the durability of your gun. Price is another lookout for the buyer look for the brand and the quality before you buy.
One of the major dilemma for a buyer is weather to assemble the parts of the gun on their own or buy an already assembled one. There are many websites which will provide you with rifle kits to prepare you own pistol and there are hundreds of tutorials on the web to get started from if you are enthusiastic about assembling your own gun.
The most common AR guns are the AR 10 and the AR 15. These guns can be built if you have a rifle kit.
The AR- 10 is designed with a light weight, air -cooled gas-operated piston with a rotatory bolt mechanism. The main features of this rifle are the aluminium alloy and a fiberglass handguard, pistol grip and buttstock. The rifle kits of this pistol come along with barrels which helps you to give precision and accuracy. The upper receiver for the rifle includes shell deflector and forward assist housing made from billet material which gives strength and durability. The lower receiver of the rifle kit includes a full set of cam pin and firing pin.
The AR 15 is a 5.56×45mm, and is also known as M16 the rifle has a gas operated, air-cooled, magazine-fed rifle which has a rotating bolt and a straight-line recoil design. The AR 15 rifle kit includes all the materials to build your own AR 15 rifle. These kits are customizable and built per order, the upper assemblies of the rifle kits are tested for firing capabilities and safety. AR15 Rifle kits come with upper assembly, lower parts, buttstock the only thing which is needed is stripped lower receiver.
Other than the kits you also need basic equipment’s like scissors, hammers, screwdrivers and rulers. The assembly of the rifle should not take more than 30 mins to an hour. After opening the package the only thing left to do is to carry out the simple instructions written in the package to assemble your gun.
After following the procedure to make sure that the weapon is working insert a rubber bullet and fire a short at a hard surface.
