My main goal here is to give someone some context to work with so they know which terms probably apply to them and why it can be harmful or sometimes a red flag for them to be used interchangeably. This also may inspire people to look into other terms or practices as well. Sometimes I feel like people come to me wanting to know about witchcraft when witchcraft may not suit them the best, but they're just not aware of other terms or practices.

I feel like the root of confusion for people is that a lot of authors or creators (especially certain Wiccans in my experience from when I was first starting out) wrongly use some of these terms interchangeably. There's also room for overlap, like witches and new age people may both use crystals for example. However I think the distinction between these is still really important!

Personal Attachment [Zag Bagans]

A/N: just something that's been playing in my head for a while. Tagging everyone in my tag lists because I have no idea who would be interested in this one… just putting out some feelers (so to speak ;-) ) 

Plot: Reader is Zak Bagans (GAC) personal assistant in more ways than one.  Not only do they do everything usually asked of any other p.a. but they also deal with the aftermath of when attachments and apparitions don't play nicely together and Zak needs a release.

I had started out just as Zak's P.A. doing normal P.A. bullshit but with the added extra fun of going to haunted places and helping the investigations; setting up cameras, interviews, checking history of where we were going so I had all the facts ahead of time in case anything matched up.  As time went on and everything became normal for me I'd hang out with all of the GAC, but I spent most of my time with Zac listening to him talk out whatever was in his head.  We found out pretty quickly that his attachments would tolerate my presence for long periods of time before wanting me to be gone and eventually Zak settled and we'd hang out most days, even when we weren't filming because his attachments had “gotten used” to my proximity to them and “their vessel”.

It wasn't until a couple of years later that things switched up a gear and I ended up falling into bed with Zak after a particularly rough investigation; something or someone, we still aren't sure which, had channelled through him and left a trace of itself behind.  Zak had gone through cleansing, prayer, meditation and more but something still wasn't right and he was tense for days before we started what would become a routine for us. 

Most investigations are pretty easy going, nothing dangerous.  Mostly it's a 'recording’ of a spirit, something just happens, resets and happens again...there's no intelligence or interaction. There's actually way more of these than people think it's just that they don't make for good TV… they're interesting from our perspective but viewers want to be scared, they want drama and possession.

It started as a once in a blue moon thing; Zak would let down his guard and channel whatever was around regardless of if not was positive or negative.  The positive stuff went pretty easy and passed without much to do about anything. The negative channelling took so much out of him mentally and physically, put him in great danger as well as the rest of us. 

But the ratings… oh boy! 

Pretty soon it was a weekly thing and it started off okay; he could deal with it and just needed a little more mental training to help recover afterwards. I started training in Reiki and crystals to aid his recovery.  After what was only a short time the positive channelling became few and very far between. Instead the negative spirits would push their way through (his words), “like a high school bully barging to the front of the dinner line.”

But it made good TV.

That first time we ended up fucking, it wasn't sex… there's a difference, was quite an eye opener for me.  Though I'll never complain because hot damn a woman needs to get laid and this was quite literally the best, most mind-blowing fuck fest I had ever had.

Attuning a New Tarot Deck

Hello Tarot Friends!

I haven’t really posted much on tumblr yet, but I’ve been reading cards for a (too) long while now and thought I could share some of the things I’ve learned. I hope my rambles prove to be useful to you. 😊

Let’s talk about attuning your tarot deck!

Before you begin working with your new deck, you’ll want to spend some time getting to know it. This is an important step because it allows you to become more familiar with your cards, and in turn, helps you read more intuitively. You’ll find that a well-attuned deck will be far easier to read with than one straight out of the box. Messages will be clearer and you’ll make better connections between the cards. I like to think of attuning my decks as similar to a musician tuning an instrument. You wouldn’t expect to pick up a brand new flute and have it play perfectly in tune without any adjustments. Sure, it’ll make noise, but it won’t be as pleasing to the ear.

How do I attune my deck?

First and foremost, you’ll want to cleanse your deck. Cleansing your deck will get rid of all the residual energy that it may have picked up during its journey to you. You can also think of cleansing as a statement of intent. Tarot cards are sacred tools of communication after all. They help us communicate with spirit or the higher self. You probably want to make sure your reception is as clear as possible!

There are many methods of cleansing. You can use your preferred method of cleansing, or if you’d like some ideas, try one of the options below.

* Smoke cleansing - light an herb bundle or your incense of choice, and draw circles around the deck. ‼️Caution‼️ Be careful to keep the smoldering end away from your cards. You wouldn’t want to set them on fire or singe them by accident.

* Use crystals - take your deck out of its box and place a crystal on top of the cards (try clear quartz, amethyst or selenite). Leave the deck with the crystal on top overnight.

* Knock on the deck - I know it sounds silly, but it works! It sort of shakes up the stagnant energy and makes it fall off. Hold the whole deck in one hand (I like to angle mine off to the side as well) and with your other hand, knock on the deck three times. Intention is important here. You need to be very clear about wanting to rid the cards of unwanted energy. You can also use this one to clear energy in between readings as well!

Ok, cleansing! Got it! But what about the actual attuning part?

Shuffle your cards. 😆 Well, you really should shuffle your new deck well to mix them up enough, but there’s more to do if you’d like.

There is a lot of information floating around the Internet about different ways to attune your tarot deck. However, at the end of the day, the best method is going to be something that is meaningful to you. With the understanding that “attuning” a tarot deck is really just a fancy way of saying that you’re spending time with them, the possibilities are endless! You can make the attuning process as complex (or not!) as you like. If you’re new to tarot, you might consider experimenting with a few different methods until you find one that’s a good fit for you. Here are some ideas to try.

* Possibly the easiest method (and the one I use most often) is to just spend some time with your deck. Whenever you have some time to relax, spend a few quiet moments flipping through your deck. Look at the imagery, notice how the cardstock feels between your fingers. Is the finish glossy or matte? Do you have any favorite cards? Practicing shuffling the deck. After a few days of doing this, your deck will be attuned and ready to use. Some people also call this method “seasoning” the deck.

* Meditate with your cards. You can even lay out some of your favorite cards, and use the imagery as a focus of your meditation. What do these images say to you? Can you imagine yourself in the cards? What experiences have you had that could relate to these images.

* Do an attunement ritual/ceremony - I’ve never done this one before, so my understanding is very limited. I’m basing this on what I’ve seen from other readers. An attunement ceremony is similar to visualization and energy work. If you like to work with reiki or other forms of energy medicine, you might like this method. There are a good handful of readers who attune with a ritual or ceremony. Please google “tarot deck attunement ceremony” to find out more.

* Sleep with your deck under your pillow or near your bed (perhaps on your nightstand). After a few days, your deck will be attuned to your energy and ready to use.

Shouto- Clairvoyant-mix, much stronger than Izuku. He sees/senses, past and present not just of the spirits but the land/area, etc using spirit guides to help him. He gained his abilities after being born stillborn and through resuscitation brought back. He’s quiet because he’s constantly bombarded by the spirit world looking for help and has learned how to tune in as needed.

Momo- Holds the primary Realtor license, the rest of the group only have a real estate license. She’s the “face” of the company and is also an empath or Claircognizance. Doesn’t see spirits/energy but senses things about them, also gives her intuitive senses. Uses that intuition to screen clients as well.

Jirou- Practices chaos magic which uses multiple different natural/cultural techniques from Wiccan to Latin/Spanish (Curandera), Voodoo (Haitian), Hoodoo (African), etc depending on the case need. Specializes in non-human, natural spirits.

Ochako- Reiki practitioner which uses energy to move on human spirits, cleanse houses of residual negative energy, energy vortexes, and cleanse clients who spirits have created attachments to. She’s essentially the healer of the group or house “cleanser.”

I’m probably going to start this around the time I became a huge Taylor fan again. It started around April of last year right before ME! came out. At that time, and for most of my life really, I always felt rather lost - as if there was a void in my heart that needed filling. When all this started occurring, I was NOT connecting it to the fact that it was happening because I was researching more about the darkness of Hollywood and practicing some New Age, or occult, stuff (tarot, crystals, astrology, meditating, law of attraction, numerology, energy manipulation, twin flames). From what I was reading online, I legitimately thought the pain and nausea were signs of my “consciousness increasing”.........again, it sounds insane, but once you fall down the rabbit hole, you try to find reasoning from “spiritual people” for why your body is reacting the way that it is. 

When I got back to my apartment, I still had so many questions about all this stuff I was researching. Again, you THINK the void would be filled, but it just gets deeper and deeper, because you want to find out MORE. While on Twitter, I saw someone reply to a tweet that said that the idea of focusing on love frequencies was Luciferian, and at first I was like, uh excuse me, what now?! It does not feel that way, sir! This stuff is all about love and peace! You’re lying! Well, the dude was right, because the devil is one big master of deceit. When it hit me that what I was practicing did not have my best interest at heart, phew, I got down on my knees, PRAYED, and repented. Then, the BEST and most humble feeling came over me. I don’t know how to describe it in text without it sounding wild but, it reminded me of the lyrics to Amazing Grace? “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I was once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see.”

Our entire culture is focused on self-indulgence, and during COVID I’ve realized just how self-centered and dark our society is. Since so much evil is finally coming to light, that means there has to be good. Because we have all this time to rest and think, basically little to no distractions, God’s voice (our conscious) is speaking directly to us, and we’re finally listening and acting on it! It’s just that, we’re not acknowledging that it’s God fueling this passion in us. We’re fighting injustice, trying to free the oppressed, exposing cruelty, redistributing our wealth to those in need, etc. Through our actions, we’re bringing light into our darkness, healing and righteousness. The sad part is, spiritual warfare is at play, so because we’re trying to do so much good, evil is finding ways to be more insidious.

Jesus is so real, and I’m so glad he saved me. If at any point you experienced anxiety while reading this, earnestly call out to Jesus to help you. I promise you that void you’ve been feeling your entire life will finally be filled. I’m so much more at peace now, and when I feel evil trying to creep back in, I’m just like, Jesus SOS! Now when I talk about God, I am so happy and free!
