Rei Batsubami x She/ Her Reader

A/N: I wasn’t sure what pronouns Rei prefers. The wikis I looked at use some variation of he/they/she depending on what phase of the season they were in. Since this is taking place before Rei gets to write themself back into the family I decided on using they/them. Now that I think about it, they/she or she/they probably would be more accurate idk. Hope this is alright! Word Count: 964

“Rei-san, I’ve been looking for you!”

“Me too!”

“Same!”

(Y/n) watched from the sidelines, a displeased frown easily readable upon her lips. She knew that Rei was gathering votes for something big, but she didn’t like how easily all these other girls flocked to them looking for their attention. Neither did she like how soft and kind Rei was when dealing with them nor the gentle, consoling way Rei would smile and touch their shoulders and hands.

(Y/n)’s dagger like glare went unnoticed and the girls took their sweet time putting their votes into Rei’s box before finally parting ways. (Y/n) was so busy glaring at their backs that she failed to notice Rei come up to her until they were leaning against her.

“What’s wrong?” Rei asked, rubbing (Y/n)’s shoulders.

“Nothing.” (Y/n) grumbled unconvincingly.

“I find that hard to believe. You’re really tense. Talk to me.”

(Y/n) exhaled harshly through her nose, mulling over how to voice what they were feeling. Just as she found the courage to speak what had been on her mind and parted her lips, another group of giggling girls came up to surround Rei with votes and other little homemade gifts.

Rei treated the girls cordially, yet swiftly. When the last of the girls finally departed, Rei turned around to address (Y/n) again, only to find her gone. Worried, they immediately began their search for her. They knew something was wrong and they wouldn’t be a very good partner if they didn’t give her the support she needed. They walked through the halls giving the girls who wished for them to stop for a chat quick apologies and kind smiles as they kept up their search.

“Looking for someone?”

“Totobami-sama, Yumi-san, good afternoon,” Rei bowed, “Yes, I am looking for someone. Have you seen my girlfriend come through here by chance?”

“Oh! Yeah, I think I saw her!” Yumi nodded excitedly. “I think we passed her on our way inside.”

“Thank you. I’ll be going then.”

“Just a moment, Rei.” Terano said, causing Rei to pause.

“I’ve heard whispers that you are collecting votes. Have you decided to join in on Kirari’s little game after all?”

“I may or may not have something in mind. Nothing worthy of your attention I assure you.” Rei bowed again. “Good day to you.”

Terano lingered on Rei’s expression for a few more seconds before closing her eyes with indifference.

“Good day.” She said in return, dropping the subject. She motioned for Yumi to continue and they went about their day while Rei went outside to search the grounds.

Rei was worried that Terano was onto them, but they didn’t have time to dwell on that now. This whole stupid election could wait until after they found out what was going on with (Y/n).

“There you are,” Rei sighed audibly with relief when they found (Y/n) laying under a tree not far from the main walkway, “why did you disappear on me? Are you sick?”

“I’m fine,” (Y/n) huffed, “go back to whatever harem you’ve got going on in there. I don’t care.”

“Harem?” Rei chuckled, taking a seat beside (Y/n). “You mean the girls giving me their votes?”

“What else would I be referring to?” (Y/n) frowned, crossing her arms tightly. “And they give you way more than votes. Don’t pretend to be so surprised.”

“You don’t need to be jealous of them. You know you’re the only girl for me, right?” Rei snuck their hand underneath (Y/n)’s bicep and tugged her arm free. Then they caught (Y/n)’s hand and held it between both of theirs.

“Sometimes I just don’t know.” (Y/n) sniffled. “Part of me is glad all of these girls are as enraptured with you as I am. That they see you as I do, how you deserved to be seen, but then… there are so many of them and surely some of them would be better for you than me. I don’t know.” She said, her hand shaking in Rei’s hold.

“You’ve known me forever and no one knows the struggles the Bami Families have put me through like you do. You even transferred schools to support me here. None of them can hold a candle to you.” Rei pulled (Y/n) into their chest and kissed the top on her head. “I’ll be more firm against their advances from now on. Votes be damned. If you’re ever feeling insecure about my feelings for you, please tell me and I will tell you how much you mean to me every time.”

“You don’t have to do that, I’m being silly.”

“Your feelings aren’t silly—”

“Oh! There they are!”

“Rei-san, good afternoon!”

“Please accept our votes!”

“We made you a treat!”

The group of girls circled around and (Y/n) tried to sit up, only for Rei to hold firm.

“Thank you. This is all very nice. Especially these treats you all worked so hard on, my girlfriend loves these.”

“Oh… is that right?” Some the the girls looked downtrodden while others pouted and a couple even glared at (Y/n).

“Yes, we really appreciate your kindness, but I must ask you all to give us some space. We’re having an important discussion right now.”

A bunch of muddled affirmatives left the group and they all walked away, some nosy girls glancing behind their shoulders to try to catch a hint of what they could be talking about before continuing on.

“Now they’re mad at us.” (Y/n) sighed, idly munching on one of the treats that the mob left.

“They’ll get over it. It’s not as if they didn’t know you existed before.”

“I’m not so sure they did. It’s like I don’t exist when you’re around.”

“I’ll be sure to remind them from now on then.”

The L/N clan, known by the Bami clan as their enemies, was nothing more than a simplified version of them. While the Bami Clan had separate branches for a variety of areas, the L/N Clan depended on a single heir. The heir was picked in each generation through a ritual. The ritual would be done on each child in order to make it fair. The child chosen would be called the Superior and the others would get to be normal.

With the newest generation, Y/N had been chosen to be the Superior. She had heard about the Superior’s training. It was extremely rigorous and an arduous process. Her curriculum differed from everyone else’s, with more subjects. The textbooks grew heavier with each passing year. However, she had been conditioned to take in all this knowledge and keep it with her. Once, she had asked what was the purpose of all this.

“In case you are ever forced into something, you have what you need.” 

She didn’t understand. Years later, she’d be entering the prestigious Hyakkaou Academy. She already knew the reputation of this school and how to gain it. Through gambling, she’d make a place for herself, only to be safe. She knew that as long as she was safe in this school, she could continue her studies. What she hadn’t known was that she entered right as the school was in pandemonium with an election. Somehow, the second she walked in, she could sense more than that in the air.

Terano had been wheeled past her, her eyes closed as she strategized her next move against Kirari. But something lured her into turning around. When she whipped her head around, she saw her enemy standing there with a blank face and curious eyes. This was the girl that her family had said needed to be eliminated on the spot. The entire clan agreed to set aside their differences when the time came to eradicate her. “You.”

Y/N tilted her head. “I’m sorry, I don’t know who you are.”

“Don’t act stupid. You know exactly who I am.” Terano had no patience for her, she needed to warn the others. If Y/N was here, it meant that everything they had ever worked for would come crashing down around them. “You’re the one taking everything from us.”

“I’m not sure how that’s possible, I have been studying all this time. If you’ll excuse me.”

That was how future interactions went with the Bami Clan. Terano had notified the rest of them that she was here. Tension ran amidst the clan and it was not, for the first time, directed at one another. They needed to get rid of her quickly. The first person to try was Miyo. She had tried to subtly poison Y/N, just like she had with Yumeko. But Y/N raised an eyebrow at her, sniffed, and said, “You have poison on you right now. Please do not get near me.”

The next person to attempt was Rin. He had asked her to gamble, but she declined, reading her book. When he looked at the cover, it was something about philosophy. Her, reading about morals? That was impossible. He asked one more time and Y/N sighed. “No, thank you. I will not gamble with you. I am asking you to leave.”

It was a fruitless attempt each time. The clan members were all getting paranoid and twitchy, thinking that at any moment, she might poison them or manipulate them into handing over their heirship. The rest of the school could see how they bristled at the sight of Y/N, who hadn’t done anything wrong. In fact, she was staying right in the middle of the pack, almost under the radar but not enough so that the clan wouldn’t detect her. She found out what was wrong and why the clan hated her so much, not to mention piecing together the reason as to the ritual. She was the person that could defeat them with a single blow. They were terrified of that. If she stood up to them and helped out the school, they would have no choice but to back down.

Kirari had said that she’d take care of things. This was why she had Y/N right in front of her. “You and I have some things to talk about.”

“Really? I don’t recall doing anything wrong.”

“Our families are in dispute. You are more than capable of destroying our family. We are here to--”

Y/N let out a long, loud sigh of exasperation. She had set her bag down on the floor, crossing her arms as she leaned back against her chair. “Let me put this in a language you all can understand, because I know this message will be passed along. I. Do. Not. Care.”

Kirari blinked. The words were rude, but the tone was something different. She didn’t care about the family dispute? Or was it that she didn’t care about Kirari’s words? “Listen to me--”

“No, you listen to me. Your family has been trying to get me to do things that I don’t want to do. Miyo tried to poison me, Rin tried to get me to gamble and I’ve heard enough things about him, Terano attempted to coerce me into handing over a property of mine, everyone has tried to eliminate me or get me out of this school. I don’t care about the dispute. Frankly, I don’t care about the election either, I don’t want to be president.”

“Are you aware that you’re something of a martyr to the other students?”

Scoffing, she uncrossed her arms and leaned forward. “I’m not dead yet. I have not been swallowed or devoured in your aquarium of torture. They are putting their faith in the wrong person because I don’t care about this rivalry. Future generations can continue, but for me? I don’t plan on standing against you guys. Do what you want. Just let me study, it’s hard enough to get some quiet around here and I have to deal with interruptions?’ Y/N stood up and grabbed her bag, making her way out before she turned around. “By the way, your best strategy against Terano is not what you think it is.”

Kirari sat down, before getting back up to go to her aquarium. There, she saw an isolated fish wandering around. The other fish seemed to move away from it, some daring to get close before darting off once more. No matter how many times this happened, the fish didn’t do anything. It was docile, seemingly indifferent to what was happening. Kirari smiled. She was an interesting person, to say the least. She couldn’t wait to see what more she could bring to the table.

She’s really smart, so she catches on sign language quickly and she even asks you to teach her some stuff because she knows that she’ll never be an expert

If you don’t communicate in sign language, she communicates with you in other ways

You two have a secret thing that lets her know that you want her attention; it’s something subtle but noticeable between the both of you when you want Rei’s attention specifically

She has a specific ringtone that lets her know you have messaged her, she knows that it's one of the ways you both can communicate well, even if it's not face to face

Rei is honestly super supportive and knows what to do to interact with you so that you don't feel alone

━ IBARA OBAMI ;

Ibara definitely asks Google and you questions about everything he should know so that he doesn't do anything wrong

If you don’t feel like signing anything and you don’t have anything to write on, he probably has some with him; one can never be too prepared according to him

His texts with you are so contagious, he always types in capital letters and loves when you do too because it shows the emotions that you're really having

He learns of a few gestures that you make for specific things that no one else does, and he kind of picks up on that too; he finds himself doing gestures that you do sometimes with you, it's endearing

Always has his attention on you, it's impossible for you to try and capture his attention when you already have it when you're in his proximity

Ibara does his absolute best to communicate with you and is always open to learning new things that come directly from you

Rin has studied about this so he knows sign language and other forms of non verbal communication so that both of you can talk without words

Sometimes he won't even verbally speak to you because he doesn't have the energy, but he still wants to communicate with you

Like Ibara, he always has a notebook and pen with him in case you want to write things down, he never leaves without a notepad and pen

He slowly learns some things that you do when you're answering yes or no questions, especially if they're not common and suited specifically for you

If it's more convenient for you to text stuff to him, he'll have a ringtone that is reserved for you only so that he knows to check his phone immediately

Makes sure that if necessary, he'll talk for you, but also knows that you are capable of doing things on your own

He's always there for you and doing everything in his power to be able to communicate with you properly

━ MIYO INBAMI ;

Miyo tends to find smaller ways to create your own language because since you're mute, the classic way to go about it is sign language, right? Wrong! Miyo is teaching you a new language that does not require you to talk

She already has experience in creating a brand new language; after all, that’s the way that she and Miri interact without saying anything out loud to one another

Miyo really wants you to learn this language so you don't count on sign language and you two can have your own little conversations without anyone noticing

Of course, she still knows sign language in case she needs to include it in the lexicon

She carries stuff around with her that's for you to write your messages on so that people know what you're saying

At random times though, she'll sometimes test you on that new language so you will be learning that with her or she will die trying

Isn't against Miri also teaching you

Please show her some gestures of yours that you use to show some things, she wants to learn about how you communicate certain stuff to others

She also incorporates those gestures in her everyday life sometimes, it's unconsciously and you won't notice it until she's deep in conversation

Miyo knows that you cannot talk, however, that does not mean that you cannot say anything for yourself so Miyo absolutely helps you in the aspect of you sharing your opinions without saying them out loud

Sometimes love triangles could be amusing, but when it came to Rei Batsubami and Jabami Yumeko, it was not amusing, it was more of a situation where an outsider could find it amusing but not you

Yumeko was your best friend first, but you were Rei’s first friend, so both of them had to fight for your affections behind your back

Since Yumeko was your self proclaimed best friend, she would constantly arrange hangouts with you where it would just be the two of you, but Rei’s not having that so on the days where Yumeko most needed you, Rei would take up all of your time

Rei would try to keep you with her with acts of service, where you would stay for her so that she could come back and talk to you

Yumeko, at night, was a menace, she would text you so often and sometimes even call you when it was 3 am

They both send you good morning and good night texts, determined not to let the other win

(So far, Rei is winning because she actually lets you sleep)

Yumeko can sometimes be found glaring at Rei from afar when Rei has you to herself and she actually pulls you away sometimes so that she can have some of your time; she takes up the rest of your time, she’s stuck to you like a koala

They both give you gifts, only Rei’s are homemade and very lovely and Yumeko’s are super extravagant

Rei will sometimes give you flowers that she thinks would look pretty tucked behind your ear, so she will do that; but Yumeko will not give up, she takes you out to restaurants where she tries to feed you

It’s so funny to the entire school because they just see the power you have to control the gambler who has been taking the school down and one of the Bami members

If you are oblivious to their affections, the entire school now has a running bet amongst each other as to when you’re going to realize because at that point, it’s just getting ridiculous as to how clueless you really are

If you know but you’re not telling either of them, good job, because they’re civil right now

They’re both trying their hardest to win you over and they both try to learn your love languages or what you like so that they can attend to that, thus maybe giving them some points in the love department

The entire situation is hilarious but there’s a bigger question at hand

As we've established, Rei can be quite a "prince charming" in a relationship at times

Like they definitely display affection through acts of service towards their s/o

That's why I personally think put of any of the Kakegurui characters, they're one of the best to go to when you're sick.

Herbal tea? Need some rest? Want them to stay? You got it.

Rei has a way with reading these kinds of situations, like honestly how is this bitch not a doctor?!

Anyways, 100% loves taking care of a sick s/o

And don't even think about overworking yourself, they will not allow it <3

In fact, the second they get the feeling something is off, they'll be right by your side.

It's hot...but it's also way too cold...

That awful sensation was messing with your head as the dice cup spilled onto the table, your knees shaking and ears ringing as those around you anaylsed your numbers.

"Y/n, I'm afraid that's another loss..."

Words that you could barely make out over the ringing in your ears.

You stood up, sweat dripping off your forehead, unmoving as you tried to regain a sense of vision.

"Y/n?" Your competitor, Yumeko Jabami stared at you, curious, threatening eyes shooting daggers into your soul, "Can you no longer play?"

"M'fine." You managed to slur, allowong the dice to roll again, and again.

You couldn't keep count, you head was spinning and your throat burning.

It was then Mary Saotome's turn to stand "Hey let's stop here...while you still have something to gamble with"

You shook your head, still somewhat entranced by your own lightheadedness as you let out a cough. "Don't worry about me."

When did I even agree to this?

The dice clanged on the table, the blonde smiled triumphantly.

Wait...what was I doing before this?

Yumeko's turn...she did not move and instead gazed at something behind you.

Are those...footsteps?

You turned around.

"Rei I..."

And then your legs gave way, vision blurring as a muffled voice called out to you, a hand gripped tighly to you arm, preventing your sudden descent

A supportive hand against your head was the last thing you felt before your vision gave out completely, sending you into the darkness of slumber.

And it was the quiet clinking of china that first hit your ears as you woke up, a gentle hum reasonated around you as you slowly opened up your eyes to the familiar dingy ceiling of your dorm room.

The gambling match

You shot your head up as memories of how you got here flooded back to you, the headache, the pain-fueled frustration you thought you could only satiate through distractions, leading you to a fools gamble with none other than the queen herself.

"Augh-" You groaned, flinching slightly as you felt the throbbing in your head and the hoarseness in your throat return. A gentle hand stroked you met the gaze of your significant other.

"Rei I-"

They shushed you, hand guiding you head back to the pillow "Lie still." They instructed gently. "I'm preparing you a herbal remedy, it may help with the sore throat, but you'll need rest if you want to be rid of that headache, dearest."

You nodded, complying with your lovers request as they flashed you a reassuring gaze before returning to their work.

Lips twitched into a smile as you watched them from the bed, focusing on their delicate hands...so expertly preparing the tea just how you wanted it, they way they were almost completely discreet about slipping some extra sugar in their own cup.

A shaky sigh left your lips, your mind wandering back to the gambling match of this morning, the feeling of nervousness filled your head. How many losses was it again? 10? 20? You honestly couldn't tell..

"I'm guessing I lost?" You asked, struggling to cover the disappointment in your head as you let out a few dry coughs.

"The dice were weighted, so that match was called off, you should get everything you lost back." They replied, taking a sip of their tea as they spoke.

"Do I need to guess who exposed them?" You mumbled outloud as Rei chuckled mischievously in response, making their way over to your bedside, hot tea in hand. "Actually it was Yumeko who sensed something was off, I only showed up to help you."

"My hero," You teased, prompting a light giggle from both of you.

"Even so, I trust you won't be making mistakes, such as gambling with those two in the future" Your lover scolded, meeting you with a slightly piercing haze as they held out a cup for you.

You coughed again, reaching out of the cup as you cursed the dryness in your throat. "I know, I know...for now"

Rei let out a slight exhale of amusement, rolling their eyes at your keen recklessness as they approached you with a teacup in hand, placing it on the table beside your bed.

"M'sorry..." You muttered, breaking the silence with a quiet sniffle as you attempted to sit yourself up, grabbing clumsily at tea as your took a sip of the warm liquid. "I must've worried you when a fell unconscious, huh?"

It was Rei's turn to let out a somewhat breathy chuckle as they turned their gaze away from you as if somewhat guilty.

"Well, it's certainly better than having my dear Y/N continue to overwork themselves while they're sick...but I do wish I had gotten there sooner...not that I mind carryingyou of course."

You placed you tea down beside you and laughed at your lovers statement, and they returned your amused smile, a slight sense of relief present in their gaze.

"Well, the good news is it seems your fever has died down a tad, but I would still rather you stay here than overexert yourself again..."

You nodded, collapsing on the bed as you let out a shaky cough, cursing as the painful dryness in your throat returned as Rei handed you your tea.

"Shall I get you anything? Some pain killers perhaps?"

You shook your head

"Can you...stay with me?" You pleaded between concurrent coughs and splutters, eyeing your lover with a desperate gaze as you reached out for their embrace.

Slowly, they approached the bed, sitting down next to your resting form as they brushed stray strand of hair out of your face, taking the now finished cup of herbal tea and moving it out of sight.

"Of course," An affectionate kiss is pressed to your forehead. "Now rest for me, okay dear?"

Sayaka is aware that there’s a lot of things around you, specifically that you’re sneaky and she’s worried about that because sneakiness usually goes hand in hand with keeping things behind someone’s back

Turns out she didn’t have to worry about that, you’re not sneaky like that at all

You are sneaky in ways like you will be able to go under someone’s nose in a gamble and win it all before they even notice, you’ll absolutely sneak some snacks out a cupboard or the cafeteria, it’s like a hidden talent

One second you’re in the student council room in a meeting, the next you’re gone and when everyone blinks again, you’re back with Runa’s stash of candy and your own snacks

Sayaka loves you so much for it because she thinks it’s some sort of hidden talent

That is, until it’s used against her

She’s flustered easily around you, so when you’re ever so sneaky and pull her in for a small kiss, she’s automatically redder than anything, it’s really cute

She still loves you, even if you’re sneakier than anyone around you, both romantically and for your own joy

━ MIROSLAVA HONEBAMI ; 

Miroslava has dealt with her own massive family, so she thinks she’s prepared for you when she hears about you, but she absolutely is not

You’re sneaky in a way that she didn’t expect, it’s practically harmless but you use it to your advantage a lot

Whenever you’re gambling and Miroslava can see that there’s practically no way out, you surprise her by getting out of it and slamming your opponent down

When she asks you about it, you just smile and say, “I just did what everyone does,” which makes her wonder what are you actually like

Turns out that you tend to sneak out a lot of things from people that are cruel and vicious, especially to housepets, so you’re like a vigilante of sorts, but under the radar

One time, when you saw a girl get left behind by a group of guys, Miroslava had been at your side and she had helped her while you went after the guys

Needless to say, they went home that night with no plans to ever return to the school

When it comes to her, you’re sneaky in the way that you’ll hug her from behind at unexpected moments, kiss her at random times and just show up out of nowhere to hold her hand

These are the parts of her day that she loves the most and she just adores you for it

Rei already knows about you after hearing a lot about the things you do, rumors and the like

Usually she’d be slightly afraid, especially since she’s seen as an underdog and not really worthy of a lot of things, so she thinks you’re going to pick on her next

No, instead you become friends with her for the sole fact that she’s not really at the top of her clan and you can see how differently she’s treated from the rest of them 

So you keep an eye out for her and even help her out anonymously, but something happens and you two became close friends

That friendship turned into a relationship and now Rei can see firsthand what everyone meant by you being sneaky

Of course you’d snake your way out of the tightest places in gambles and sometimes pop up with something you never had before

But in your relationship, you’re sneaky in ways that you’ll take her hand when she isn’t watching, you’ll press the tiniest kiss to her shoulder and leave, you’ll absolutely hug her from behind too

She loves the fact that she’s the only one that sees that part of you and she absolutely accepts all of you

Your mission was simple enough but by every god’s sake, did it have to involve you going into an extravagant gala, with Rei at your arm nonetheless? You didn’t mind, truly, but you had a massive crush on Rei. You were a spy and you would go through with this mission, even if it killed you.

It didn’t help that when you two got dressed up, you were waiting for Rei outside. She was getting into a pretty red dress, her hair having been done by Yumi. Yumi was the resident hairstylist when it came to missions, making you look as inconspicuous as possibly and able to make you fit even with even the most pretentious rich people. “Rei, hurry, I’m a fast driver, but I don’t want to knock you out if I go too fast.”

“Hang on.” She turned around. “How do I look?”

Thank you, whichever God blessed me with this. “Decent.” You could’ve smacked yourself from the word that spilled from your mouth as you quickly made your way out to the car, opening the door for Rei before getting into the driver’s seat. “Let’s go, we’re gonna be late.”

“You’re not going on the freeway, right?”

Your smile scared her. It was similar to that of a daredevil’s smile and it gave her the answer she needed. “Who do you think I am? Of course we’re going on the freeway.”

One almost-death situation later, you were at the door with Rei. Your mission was simple: find out what it was that the host wanted from a certain gang. Ibara said, “Seduce the host!” But Rei slammed that idea down. You both were to wait until you could talk with him in private, spiking his drink with a truth tonic Miyo had created. There, he would spill all of the secrets to you both. Two of the most beautiful individuals at the gala, cornering the host who was a known flirt? This mission was going to be easy.

“It’s disgusting though, his entire dream is to...” Rei shuddered. “Thankfully, we didn’t have to become honey trappers.” 

“Yeah, I’m glad. Here comes the family sitting out our table. The Takahashis, they’re so rich and arrogant that some people are afraid that they have mafia ties. Pretend we’re actually dating and in love.” You said that, but you didn’t have to pretend. 

The entire dinner was you gushing with the head of the Takahashi family, knowing that they had ties to the host. You were holding Rei’s hand and acting like the ditzy person that didn’t belong at the gala. It hurt, since you knew that with one snap of your fingers, everything could be destroyed and you’d be standing in the middle of the wreck. “Oh, where could the host be?”

“Down the hall. It was a pleasure to meet you both.”

“Likewise.” You both chorused and walked out. You saw the host sipping on a drink while scrolling through his phone. The way the mission worked was this: you had to lace the truth potion into his drink and both you and Rei had to flirt for his attention. His dream was disgusting, but it had to include the both of you. 

It worked like a charm. He spilled everything to the both of you, and you ended up leaving quickly. However, you were still holding Rei’s hand as you walked out. Everyone that saw you leaving assumed you were going to hook up, but you couldn’t even confess to Rei or even let go of her hand. You were an incredible spy, but couldn’t confront your feelings. Not even when you got to the car did you let go of her.

“Hey...so we did that. All in all, we didn’t even need the fake relationship.” Rei said softly.

“No, we did. That perverted host wouldn’t have told us if we didn’t tell him we were in one.”

“Is this a bad time to say I don’t want the relationship to end?” Rei looked directly at you with a soft smile. “I really enjoyed being with you for the smallest time, and I know that wasn’t really you, so I would love to go out with the actual you.”

You blinked. “You have a crush on me?”

“What else does it look like?”

You could have gotten a heart attack right then and there from the way Rei intertwined her fingers with yours and kissed your cheek.

She had fallen for you first and it took you a short while to reciprocate those feelings because you were suspicious of her at first

Now, the thing is that that same popularity never stops, she has girls and boys alike pining after her even after the game she had made

This leads to you being jealous but in a way that makes you feel as though she could do better because she's part of the clan where they want more

You're constantly afraid of this because other people are much better and much more powerful and compared to them, you are easily forgettable

Rei was raised to learn how to read emotions so she can read yours when she tries to find you after rejecting a couple of girls gently

She tries to coax you into telling her what's wrong and she will wait until you're ready to talk to her

When you do, she'll reassure you in every way possible that she will not leave you because you are someone she adores more than anyone else and she promises to never leave you behind

So whenever she can sense your jealousy, expect to be cuddled and kissed a lot afterwards, followed by a bunch of validation

Honestly, he’ll probably buy you more because he thinks you look adorable in them and he wants to know how you look in other colors

When you first showed him, he has a stunned smile on his face before he tugs you to him by the tail

“You know, you look completely adorable like that”

He adores seeing you like that and then you have the brilliant idea of putting your cat ears onto him, thinking that he’ll look happy about it

You were wrong, he doesn’t like the cat ears on him, he’ll probably grumble the entire time as you take pictures of him

Yes, he’ll try to turn away from the camera to uphold his reputation

He likes it better on you than on him and he’ll definitely get payback after that

Rin just thinks you look so cute with the cat ears, just please don’t make him go through it again

Rei honestly thinks that you’re so adorable with the cat ears and cat tail and will probably buy you different colors

“You look very cute, do you want me to buy you more in different colors?”

From this she can gather that you really like cats so there’s a huge chance that she’ll buy you headphones with cat ears on them and if you wear them around her, her soul just about leaves her body

Then you get the idea of putting your own cat ear headband on her and you catch her by surprise because she was just doing another thing until you snuck up on her to put the accessory on her

She stays still for a second and once you tell her that she looks adorable with it, she definitely blushes

Unlike Rin though, she’ll actually let you take a certain amount of pictures of her (as long as you’re also in them)

She likes it more on you than him, but will not complain if you want to put them on her

Rei thinks you’re so adorable with them and she does not mind it when you want to match with her, she looks forward to it constantly
