i watched across the spiderverse today and almost cried twice LMAO so i will now rant about it

spoilers below teehee

this is not going to be in chronological orderi am just going to spew things from my brain

i LOVE the animation so fucking much i didn't think it could get better than the first one but i was proven WRONG holy shit dont get me started. the coloring in gwen's dimension was absolutely beautiful, it looked just like oil pastels and i love how they used color and how the backgrounds kind of devolved when it was focusing on gwen and her father. and just the colors overall??? all the color in the movie was so amazing i can't get over it. and this is a really specific detail but i love the way they colored Spot in the flash forward thingy where he looks like he's drawn with charcoal omg,,, and the vulture in the beginning and spiderpunk!!!! SPIDERPUNK oh my lord i love him sm he's so fucking cool and i love the way he's animated

the scene where miles is about to tell his mother he's spiderman. oh my lord. what he says to his mother is literally word-for-word what was going through my head when i was about to come out to my mom. this was one of the times i almost cried LMAO i didn't think i would get so emotional over this but it was genuinely so.... like i know you've loved me in the past and i trust that you will continue loving me once you know this about me but do i really know that? do i know for sure that you won't think of me differently? love me differently? also what was kind of funny was that when miles was about to say "im spiderman" multiple people in the theater went "i'm gay" LMFAO

the theater i watched it in was so funny omg... there was one part when the theater was completely silent and some kid when "oh lord" and everyone BURST out laughing it was hilarious... and when all the spidermen did the pointing meme reference everyone started SCREAMING laughing like uncontrollably it was so fun this movie is such a blast to watch

the CHARACTERS!!! i love the new characters in this movie sm spiderpunk <33333 he's literally so cool i love his animation his vibe his dialogue i have not read the og comics but i've heard he is often shipped with miles so that's interesting.

the other time i almost cried was at the beginning when gwen's father continues to arrest her btw. thought i should note that since i said it at the beginning LMAO

the ending though.... that was CRUEL oh my god everyone in the theater groaned when the "to be continued..." showed up. incredibly hyped for beyond the spiderverse tho i can only imagine how cool it will be
