Reevus for the send a character thing? -charrwybie
01. Full name: Reevus Doppelkopf (or doublehead. of Head warband)
02. Best friend: He doesn't know her name but she appears as "The White Menace" at the Arcana Obscura Bar&Brawl. They are more best enemies than best friends. They got a spy rivalry going on. Neither of them have seen the others face. Sometimes they sit on the rooftops and just talk. Sometimes they beat the shit out of each other.
03. Sexuality: Never thought about it aka. default bisexual. (yes this is going to appear frequently in this ask game)
04. Favorite color: Honestly he really likes that not entirely white color they paint the houses in Rurikton
08. Favorite food: Just one of those good steaks that come out of the ranches on the diessa plateau. That krytan stuff simply doesn't match up.
10. Favorite music: Believe it or not he really likes Metal Legion.
11. Biggest fear: The mesmer collective deciding he is too dangerous.
12. Biggest fantasy: Becoming Tribune. (He is too much of a realist to dream of Imperator)
13. Bad habits: Too focused on finding out what agenda the humans in front of him follow to question the agenda of the charr in his back.
14. Biggest regret: Is actually pretty chill with his place in the world.
15. Best kept secrets: Well it is quite important that the humans don't figure out that he is a mesmer. So that.
16. Last thought: What are you, a mesmer?
18. Biggest insecurity: That he is absolutely shit at invisibility. He just can't do it, not even with a single person.
19. Weapon of choice: Pistol
20. Role Model: Ok so im my head there is a place similar to the Black Citadel's Memorial Quadrant in the Ash Citadel, and the greatest members of the Legion are commemorated. And amongst them is one whose plaque doesn't carry a name because they were just that good of a spy. That charr is what Reevus aspires to be.
Tumblr media
and a fresh picture too!

The only one I have a soldi answer for is Reevus, who would rock the Harlequin's Smile. He's a diplomat, smiling through everything is not only something he used to, but something he actively enjoys. He knows many humans think Charr to be aggressive and dumb savages, so he is agressively well mannered. When he drinks his tea following perfect etiquette, smiles when they insult his race, laughs about their jokes, he is mocking them. His face already is the ever smiling face that hides bared teeth and vicious eyes.
For those who play Mesmers--which of the starting masks is your favourite for your character? Why (is it a facade for them, is it a reflection of who they are truly, would they just like the aesthetics)? I really adore the starting masks for Mesmers, I think it is such a neat flavour item.

Fun fact about Reevus: He's not a good mesmer.
This might surprise you considering he's been specifically selected and trained by the ash legion to fight other mesmers. But really keeping up even a single clone is exhausting to him and he can't do any of that spatial distortion stuff. He's somewhat decent at disappearing into crowds and his one strong suit is appearing invisible to single targets but lacks any kind of offensive abilities. He probably couldn't kill someone with his magic even if he tried.

Boss fight for reevus? :3
@mystery-salad
Attempt number two at writing this aince tumblr erased like two paragraphs while I was looking up the name of a weapon skill :/
Reevus excells at fighting single targets so I think he fits best into a personal story setting. At the start of the fight he would split into several mirror images, all constantly firing projectiles in random directions, though only the real Reevus's projectiles deal damage. The Mirrors have significantly less HP than the real Reevus but shatter for massive damage when killed. Magic barriers appear throughout the Arena limiting movement and illusory fighters periodically appear at the edge of the arena that follow the player and deal significant damage with their sword flurry and shatter combo. They move fast but can be killed easily.
If you play the mission as a mesmer he laughs at you and all your illusions and clones instantly disappear whenever they are summoned.

how about 2, 7, 10 for four winds asks? ^^
2. Who is the best at treasure hunts?
Dak or Other Aki probably, I think they're the only ones who would partake in it because, well it's something one can be best at, would be a waste if rhey didn't at least try to be best at it.
7. Who would prefer to find a quiet spot away from the crowd?
Valoop. But it's yet another featival where people expect the commander to be there, and even more so to be celebrating. So she shows up and makes sure people see her jump around with the aspect crystals, and talks to people and dodges salespeople that want her to advertise their products and absolutely demolishes some clockwork knights.
10. Is there anyone who works at the festival?
Reevus is of course in the crown pavilion looking out to prevent a second instance of rogue machine soldiers. It would be useful to the diplomats of it was a charr that saved Divinity's Reach and the festivities.

Charrlotte Weißglut:
Weißglut is German for when metal is white hot but also "jemanden zur Weißglut bringen" (to make someone white hot) means to make someone really angry. Her surname does not relate to her warband, The Headless, who are a mercenary band. She chose the surname because she mainly wields a flamethrower (or two, she's bisexual) and the double meaning is funny.
Reevus Doppelkopf (Doublehead):
Of Head warband, an ash legion band that are part of the charr embassy in Divinity's Reach. Double because he's a mesmer, although he actually only rarely uses clones.
Bran Brandschild (Brandshield):
Of Shield warband, Sentinels. Pretty simple.
Trebia Perlenfädler (Beadthreader):
Formerly needlethreader of needle warband, iron legion recon and sniper warband. Deserted and settled down in LA where she now sells handmade jewelry.
Tibia Boneshag
Of Bone warband, a Charr necromancer pirate crew warband that stole a bone ship from Zaithan. (all their names are the Latin name of a bone, bone- an euphemism for sex. Bone Bonebone)
Commander Ruck Steelforge
Of Forge warband, iron legion fortification engineers
ok lore question for people with charr characters because ir eally want to know: what is their surname, what warband are they apart of, and what meaning does the surname have?

My brain is doing the dial-up sound right so I can't think of a specific question BUT feel free to use this as a free pass for the OC Fight Club Asks! Or! A free space to talk about whichever OC's you feel inspired by rn (@uselessidiotsquad)
oops this one somehow slipped by unnoticed
I don't have the ask post handy so I'll just ramble free form about my Charrs' fighting styles (I have four so this might get longer)
All four of them trained with the Legions, and apart from Charrlotte they spent their lives in service to the legions as well.
Reevus, Ash Legion Mesmer, distinguished himself early as an excellent duellist, both with sword and pistol. He got put into a special training program to hone his mesmer skills (against his preference. He tries to use them sparingly) specifically to stop other mesmers. Know you enemy kind of deal. Whereas many combat oriented mesmers might use their magic to kill you, Reevus uses his magic to distract you from the gun that kills you. This es especially effective when duelling other mesmers, as they often don't consider the threat of physical harm from a fellow mesmer.
Bran, Blood Legion Warrior (theoretically a Rev but he doesn't get cool powers, only depression). Probably the most mundane. Carries both a mace and an axe which he pairs up with a shield. Together with the classic spikey blood legion armor he is basically a very agressive hedgehog. There used to be a time where his immortality made him storm recklessly at the enemy, but that passed quickly and he has since adopted a very defensive stance.
Trebia, Iron Legion Grandma Sharpshooter, started out as a simple rifleman but constantly slipped away during combat to do her own thing. Nobody could really complain because her own things generally worked out well so instead they made it her official position. This gave her ample time and necessity to hone her mastery of the only magic thr Iron legion didn't mind, the one you can't see (aka shadow magic). She likes to ambush, strike quickly and vanish a swiftly as she appeared.
Charrlotte, ex-Iron Mercenary Leader. Possesses an absolutely massive arsenal of weaponry, including but not limited to: 2 Flamethrowers, a rifle, a charrzooka, several hand-built mortars that are all very scetchy, a wide selection of pistols both, a heavily modified and questionably safe pact chopper, a knife. All of these weapons have names. Charrlotte always does a lot of planning ahead of jobs choosing which equipment she takes but she prefers her Flamethrower. That being said she isn't above using her claws and teeth and while she has the least training in hand to hand combat she nakes up for it with determination. There is a rumor out there that Charrlotte is immortal, and Charrlotte is doing her best to prove it right.

Morality Challenge
Morality Challenge Got tagged by @gwtoomanyalts so I thought I’d give this a shot.
I think everyone has done it....
I'm gonna do several characters so you'll hide them to not spam your dash
Instructions: Bold all the things your muse has done (will / would do is in italics, bolded italics means they’ve done it before and will probably do it again).
Aerana: murder / manslaughter / assault / robbery / breaking & entering / theft / embezzlement / kidnapping / torture / blackmail / arson / trespassing / treason / libel or slander / obstruction of justice / lying to law enforcement / creation of a weapon / espionage / riot / escape from lawful custody / contempt of court / public intoxication / conspiracy / accessory to a crime / harboring a fugitive / bribery / perjury under oath / resisting arrest / identity theft / corporate fraud / tax fraud (do asura have taxes?)/ document forgery / destruction of evidence / assassination / counterfeiting / sale of a controlled substance / purchase of a controlled substance / failure to pay child support / hacking crimes / threat / pick-pocketing / shoplifting
Red because the creation of complex murder golems and the large amount of varying weapons would both be a lot more that just "creation of a weapon" and also probably still legal under Rata Sum law. Out of the six not italicised she has had others do those for her. The sole thing on this list she doesn't want anymore her being drunk.
Reevus: murder / manslaughter / assault / robbery / breaking & entering / theft / embezzlement / kidnapping / torture / blackmail / arson / trespassing / treason / libel or slander / obstruction of justice / lying to law enforcement / creation of a weapon / espionage / riot / escape from lawful custody / contempt of court / public intoxication / conspiracy / accessory to a crime / harboring a fugitive / bribery / perjury under oath / resisting arrest / identity theft / corporate fraud / tax fraud / document forgery / destruction of evidence / assassination / counterfeiting / sale of a controlled substance / purchase of a controlled substance / failure to pay child support / hacking crimes / threat / pick-pocketing / shoplifting
Do y'all thing the Ash Legion is a giant pile of paperwork spy agency or a don't leave any evidence any letter is immidiately burned spy ageny?
Saleem: murder / manslaughter / assault / robbery / breaking & entering / theft / embezzlement / kidnapping / torture / blackmail / arson / trespassing / treason / libel or slander / obstruction of justice / lying to law enforcement / creation of a weapon / espionage / riot / escape from lawful custody / contempt of court / public intoxication / conspiracy / accessory to a crime / harboring a fugitive / bribery / perjury under oath / resisting arrest / identity theft / corporate fraud / tax fraud / document forgery / destruction of evidence / assassination / counterfeiting / sale of a controlled substance / purchase of a controlled substance / failure to pay child support / hacking crimes / threat / pick-pocketing / shoplifting

🌹 - 🌻 - 💐 for all of your charr!
🌹 Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?
For Bran it is definitely the Black Citadel. Even though he is from Blood Legion he has spent most of his life there. Charrlotte and Trebia both have had too much of the Iron Legion to feel at home in the Black Citadel and both have moved to Lion's Arch which does feel like a home to them much more. Reevus is slowly warming up to DR but he still thinks of ash homelands as his home.
🌻 What little things do they notice about people or the world around them that make them happy? What tiny little treasures do they find in the normal every day that makes the world seem a little brighter for them?
Bran isn't a very happy man these days, and he doesn't really get cheered up by watching the people around him. Mostly because the people around him in the Citadel are mostly soldiers with too much fun at soldiering and not enough fear of death.
Charrlotte likes winning and being a badass, her most favourite thing in everyday life is when she enters a room and people are obviously intimidated by her.
Reevus loves when people misjudge him. Human nobles that expect him to be a savage while has has perfected every bit of etiquette, mesmers trying to manupulate him because they don't expect people to know how to resist that, people not expecting a charr to be a trained mesmer, people that know him to be a mesmer not expecting to get shot at with a completely normal gun. He just loves it.
For Trebia it's kids going absolutely crazy over being allowed to ruffle her fur.
💐 How does your OC handle being unwell or forced to rest in bed? Who cares for them and in what ways? Does your OC enjoy being doted on or are they a terrible patient? Reversed: is your OC good at taking care of others who are ill or in need?
Bran would be scared. He knows that if he continues with his current course he will die from illness several times and he wants to avoid that as long as possible. There'll be a legion doc caring for him if its bad, or someone from the barracks. He isn't the worst possible patient, but he's definitely not easy to care for, especially if Joplin is with him to make everyone around slightly nervous.
Charrlotte calls being ill "being in prison but without being able to break out". She absolutely hates it, and will only stay in bed as short as possible. She'll disregard every doctors recommendation if that doctor is not one of her friends. If she's taking care of someone ill she'll order them to get better with enough authority to make you recuperate at least two days sooner.
Reevus just get's over it. Really simple. It's annoying of course, but it happens.
Trebia is getting taken care of by her neighbors, and would take care of them should one of them fall ill. People around her are probably more worried than she herself when she falls ill, as she is quite old.

Reevus' Illusions don'tvlook like butterflies and instead like smoke, similarly to some thief shadow magic.
He is very good brute mind-force stuff like making people think they've been injured, or making himself invisible (something that is actually really hard in my mesmer headcanon) He couldn't change the look of his clothes if his life depended on it, and clones aren't his strong suit either.
For work he mostly uses the aforementioned invisibility and for taking out enemies without killing them. He mostly tries to avoid using his magic tho and doesn't use it for fun in any way.
He distrusts other mesmers, especially those use their abilities constantly. One of his main problems with his work in and around the ministry in DR is that there are so many mesmers around there.
He doesn't really care. He recocnises the magic as a useful tool, but is also confidenr enough in his other abilities that he doesn't think it defines him.
While I'm here; Some Thought Prompts for Mesmer Characters;
- Do their illusions differ from the classic Purple Butterflies? Colours? Shapes? Any Elemental Themes?
- Any types or parts of illusions they excel at? Any they have difficulty with?
- Common ways they use illusions for their Work? How about for Fun?
- What is their opinion on other mesmers? Both in general and any notable figures?
- What is their opinion on themself as a mesmer? Do they like being a mesmer?
