Safa:

Ok uhhhh where to start with Safa uhhhh.

Badass vigilante lady. She has a few different aliases floating around, namely Guardian (preferred) and Nightmare (not preferred).

She originally came from a redeemed bizarro au. Still is but I've edited stuff a lot since I first wrote those stories.

Basically she was taken in and raised by B!Cole outside the city in some small village, until she got older and went to live with and train under Cryptor in the city because she wanted to be a hero/vigilante.

She's into collecting records. Dunno about music preference but on rainy days where she doesn't have work, she'll put one on to listen to.

Loves rainy days. They're her favorite kind of days.

She works at a local independent cafe/bookstore during the day and that's also where she met her current girlfriend.

Primarily uses kickboxing/boxing as the basis for how she fights but does have weapons training and draws upon other fighting styles/methods as well.

Her and Cryptor are constantly bantering and throwing light hearted jabs at eachother. Lots of snark between the two of them.

Her mask is /supposed/ to loosely resemble dragon teeth/fangs.

She has a favorite, very soft flannel that she wears almost all the time when she's not doing vigilante work.

Has favorite spots in the city where she can just be found chilling (usually some rooftop or her local boxing gym)

She visits B!Cole as often as she can and keeps in regular contact with him even though they live really far apart now!

She has a group of friends in the city; originally they were all going to be fellow crime fighters but I've since scrapped that. Now it's just her and /maybe/ one other person in the group.

Pretty chill person. May seem a bit distant at first but that's usually cause she's trying to hard to seem cool.

Think that's it. Hoping I don't think of something later that I really wish I'd added lol.

Dress to impress and don’t be late

Daemon found himself leaning against the outside wall of the coffee shop, absently scrolling through his phone while he waited. Every few seconds his eyes flicked from to screen to check for Cryptor.

He wasn't used to being the early one.

.....

A few minutes passed before he spotted the retired soldier approaching from a distance, greeting him with a grin and slipping his phone into his pocket.

"Hey.."

A small smile found it's way onto Cryptor's face, as he came to a stop beside Daemon.

"Hey.."

"So uh..." Daemon cleared his throat, nodding to the shop behind them, "Coffee?"

Okay, so I loved this moment, because you know, Dean, you’re the king of Narnia, after so many years in the closet and all. Plus, of all the possible SF references, you go with this one? Lol, like, seriously? You big, nerdy, child you.

BUT!

Then I felt bad because I remembered that “The Chronicles of Narnia” are actually a very complex series of books deeply rooted not only in Christian, Greek, and Celtic mythology, but also Medieval cosmology and symbolism. It’s not surprising Dean would read them.

They also have some interesting ides about parallel universes, and Heaven (which is called “Aslan’s Country” in the books).

“Because Aslan's Country was on the exterior rim of the edge around the world of Narnia, it is unknown if it can be classified as belonging just to that world, or a mutual paradise that all of the worlds and parts of the universe share, with this section of Narnia just being one of the many entrances into Aslan's Country. The land had great mountains and was the place where the dead from the worlds lingered for eternity in euphoria and bliss. It can be entered, however, from any world, not just the world of Narnia. At the end of the World of Narnia (when Aslan brings about its destruction), it is revealed that Narnia is a mere testing-ground duplicate of Aslan's Country, so that Aslan's Country itself is sometimes referred to as the True Narnia (and the Narnia they lived and died in as Shadowlands). Aslan is generally believed to be the Messiah figure in Narnia, just like the Nephilim is in the Supernatural universe. If they are hinting here that all the universes share Heaven, would it mean that there only is one set of angels, not paralell versions of angels for each universe? Would it mean that there is no AU!Cas or AU!Lucifer, just the ones we know? 

We didn’t see one single angel in the episode, just Bobby and the Demons, even though he says that killing angels is his favorite pastime. He doesn’t kill Cas either, because Cas looks human. It’s possible that Cas didn’t tell him he was an angel, and Bobby didn’t figure it out? Also, I thought, did you see the spiky things in the parallel universe? They are massive, and they certainly look like angel blades. Can it be that angels are different in that universe? More like the actual angels, Chrysler building sized, or something completely different? Demons certainly are different. Could it be that the spiky things are angel deterrents or something similar? We see a figure impaled on one of them, figure that must have been thrown from the above, either from Heaven or by something that can fly. The whole concept is really disturbing. Also, angels in general seem to know about the parallel universes. After all, it was Balthazar who sent Sam and Dean to the bizarro world in “French Mistake”, something they even referenced in the episode.

The entrance to the war!verse itself reminded me of “His Dark Materials”, where a subtle knife cut right through the air to open portals to another dimensions. Even thought Phillip Pullman is an atheist, his works are tackling the same topics as C.S.Lewis’, and just like Lewis’, he introduced an idea of a shared realm called The World of the Dead for all his parallel universes. His underworld is based on the old Greek and Roman idea of the Tartarus mentioned by Virgil and Homer. It is not a coincidence that Virgil was chosen as a guide through Hell and Purgatory in “The Divine Comedy”. Dante’s idea of these two realms, as well as the Homeric underworld were later incorporated into Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman” graphic novels, something that we know was an early inspiration for Supernatural.

The most important inspiration for “His Dark Materials” was on the other hand John Milton’s “Paradise Lost”, a story of Lucifer’s fall from grace, humanity’s expulsion from Paradise and the great angelic War in Heaven.

The great War in Heaven, mentioned in the Book of Revelation, and adopted by Milton into his epic poem isn’t considered a story of Satans origins, but rather the final battle between the Good and Evil at the end of time. Sides are led by Lucifer on one side, and the Archangel Michael on the other (Michael’s lance resurfaced not so long ago after all.)

“Paradise Lost” turns the apocalyptic battle into the Satan’s origin story, but some elements are similar.

In “Paradise Lost” Adam, the first human, is given a vision of “the future” by Archangel Michael. The future shows “the son of God” coming to Earth and saving the humankind.

After Wikipedia:

“The Son is the ultimate hero of the epic and is infinitely powerful, single-handedly defeating Satan and his followers and driving them into Hell. The Son of God tells Adam and Eve about God's judgment after their sin. He sacrificially volunteers to journey to the World, become a man himself, and redeem the Fall of Man through his own death and resurrection. In the final scene, a vision of Salvation through the Son of God is revealed to Adam by Michael.”

“Michael is a mighty archangel who fought for God in the Angelic War. In the first battle, he wounds Satan terribly with a powerful sword that God designed to even cut through the substance of angels. After Adam and Eve disobey God by eating from the Tree of Knowledge, God sends the angel Michael to visit Adam and Eve. His duty is to escort Adam and Eve out of Paradise. Before he does this, Michael shows Adam visions of the future which cover an outline of the Bible, from the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis, up through the story of Jesus Christ in the New Testament.”

(And please, seriously, read the whole Wiki chapter about Satan in “Paradise Lost”, too long to copy, but so interesting!)

So, we have several elements that seem familiar here:

The great angelic war against the fallen ones 

Michael as the soldier of Heaven

The visions of he future

Hero who is a Child of God, but could also be a human child with superpowers, that will ultimately defend Satan, and save humanity

The garden of Eden, and knowledge of Good and Evil, plus free will

Now, I’m not saying they are rewriting “Paradise Lost” here, but there certainly are a lot of elements in this season that I find in this narrative. Satan, who is trying to win back his position. The Lance of Michael, plus Michael who was mentioned several times in the last few seasons. The visions of the paradise that the Nephilim is giving his supporters to encourage them to believe. The war!verse, where angels and demons have their epic battle going. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in Jack’s nursery. The vision of the future, that Cas called the Paradise.

It’s certainly something to think about. Thank you for now, I’m going back to my summer of re-reading every classic novel about alternate universes and the biblical end of the world I can find.  

(This is actually interesting, because I headcanoned some great epic war for the last seasons, which I forgot about until now.)

Daemon readjusted his grip on the parallel bars, looking down at his feet as he exhaled slowly. 

His physical strength had slowly started to return the longer he was awake, but his mobility... it was lacking. Apparently sleeping for four weeks straight messed up your limbs. 

He was determined to get back to his old self...but the task itself felt oddly daunting.

It felt like the ground was spinning, the longer he stared at it. His stomach twisting.

"You got this Daemon! Just one step, you can do it!" 

......

He turned his head to the other side of the room, smiling gratefully at Safa as she cheered him on. Cryptor stood beside her, giving him an encouraging nod. 

Azul disappeared from the doorway, probably hoping his fellow bizarro hadn't noticed him watching. Silently cheering him on and reporting back to the others.

As much as Daemon didn't want an audience... the support was welcome. And it was what he needed to start taking the first step, slowly pushing himself forward on the parallel bars.

One step, then another. Shaky, but progress.

It'd been three weeks since the ninja had last gathered for a meeting upon the Bounty.

The fight at with the Bizarros...it'd shaken some of them up. And a unanimous decision had been made, that they should give themselves time to figure out how they felt about the ex-villains before moving forward.

A silence had settled in the meeting room, as the ninja waited for someone to speak up.

"I..suppose," Zane started, looking to his teammates, "It might be wise..to start with where each of us stand when it comes to the Bizarros and Cryptor?"

........

"I think..most of us can agree that the Bizarros obviously just want to be left alone, to be free and treated like the rest of us." Lloyd looked down at his hands as he spoke, picking at his nails. "But..I know.. maybe others might be conflicted about Cryptor."

He glanced briefly at Nya before continuing, "With what Zane researched, and what our..outside sources told us..I know he was acting in self defense and probably revenge. I think he wants what the Bizarros want." 

"And for that reason..I think however we proceed with the Bizarros, should be how we proceed with Cryptor."

.......

There was silence for a moment more before Nya spoke up. "I agree" 

All eyes fell on the water ninja, expressions of shock and confusion overtaking them. She simply shrugged in response. "Ronin..was a decent enough friend and occasional mentor to me. But he ended up way worse a person than I thought he was."

She looked up to her teammates, arms crossed. "If I were in Cryptor's shoes..I woulda done the same. So I can't blame him." 

........

"Anyone else?" Zane waited a moment, before nodding, "Then I suppose, finally, we are all in agreement." 

"Now..how should we proceed?"

Cautiously, Cole looked out of his room.

The hall was dark, and completely empty. The light sounds of Jay snoring could be heard a few doors down, filling the otherwise quiet monastery.

His brothers were asleep.

Cole exhaled, giving himself a moment to reconsider before carefully stepping out of his room, wary of the creaky floorboards that littered the hallway.

A few days later, the ninja received an update on the bizarro situation.

Bizarro Cole, Zane, and the kid with them were seen on the outskirts of a nearby town. With Bizarro Jay.

"Three birds with one stone" Lloyd pointed to the map pinpointing the bizarros' location. "Now we just gotta plan"

That kid seemed like she trusted them.

"Past experiences suggest that trusting a child's judgement when it comes to villains, isn't the wisest decision" Zane turned another page in the case file, not looking up.

Everyone, aside from Cole, collectively looked over at Lloyd, who pouted.

"I didn't know Pythor was trying to destroy the world, ok?"

Cole decided to speak up once again,"They care a lot about her, y'know" 

Zane sighed, "Of course, but caring about one person doesn't mean they aren't still evil or destructive. And we don't have proof that they won't use her as leverage"

Kai nodded, ruffling his hair dry with a towel,"Yeah man, you saw how "Daemon" reacted when we were at that village" 

"We attacked him first!"

"How did they slip by us, again?!"

Kai tossed a fire ball at the dummy before him, letting some of his frustrations out. Nya was quick to put out the flames, glaring at the brunet.

It was just hours after the bizarros had made their escape. The team had gathered in the central training area of the bounty to discuss the nights happenings and plan their next course of action.

"It seems they had a security system in place," Zane looked up from the report file he'd been reading.

"That definitely explains a few things" Lloyd added, preoccupied with spinning a ninja star on his finger tip.

"Great, so they can see us coming before we get 'em. Just perfect" The firery ninja's voice dripped with sarcasm as he launched another fire ball.

Nya hit him, rather than the dummy, with water this time, "Would you stop that? You're gonna set the whole place ablaze"

Blizzard blinked, as he stared at the camera and empty inbox

"So...we are going to...answer questions from these strangers?"

"Yep!" 

The icy man looked from Safa to Daemon, raising a brow at his fellow bizarro. Daemon simply shrugged, whether it meant that he was giving in, or all for answering questions, Blizzard had no clue. 

"How did you get contact with the others, Safa?"

"I have my ways"  the young brunette gave a mischievous grin, before turning on the camera.

"Wave hi guys!!"

After hours of planning, the ninja had figured out a game plan. If everything went their way, at least three of the bizarros would be arrested in a few days time.

Zane suggested everyone take a break, take time to prepare for the upcoming mission.

Cole ran a hand over it's his face, as he collapsed onto his bed.

He wasn't looking forward to cornering their counterparts.

Kai wiped some water from his face, flicking it back at Nya.

"I'll calm down when our evil copies stop giving us the slip. They've been runnin' around for to long" He folded his arms, water still dripping from his hair. 

"Y'know..they might not be evil anym-"

"Not this again, Cole!"

That's some pretty strong evidence to me! Why don't you agree with Cole?

"......" Kai shrugged, "They were made to destroy us, made for evil by Lord Garmadon."

"And even after he became Sensei Garmadon," Jay added, "they still caused chaos everywhere! We're talking burning buildings, robbing banks, crushing cars-" 

"Not to mention, they've been spotted recently near places of mass destruction, and broke into jail" Lloyd mentioned, glancing apologetically at Cole. 

Cole huffed, "But-"

"The truth is" Zane sighed, closing the file before him, " Even if they have turned a new leaf, they have committed to many crimes to simply be let go. We're trying to work with the law, and the bizarros need to be brought in"

"If, as  Cole seems to believe, they truly are "good" now, then we can discuss this fact with them once they've been arrested"

Quick thing on where the ninja stand- Kai, Jay, and Lloyd all think the Bizarro can't be trusted and are still evil. Just waiting for the right moment to strike again.

Nya and Zane are on a more neutral ground. 

Cole is the only one who 100% believes the Bizarros have changed.

Azul nervously paced by the door, waiting for his fellow bizarros to arrive.

The relief that filled him upon hearing their secret knock was indescribable, as he rushed to unlock his apartment door.

Standing before him was an exhausted Blizzard, behind him a barely awake Daemon holding a sleeping Safa.

The energetic bizarro immediately pulled Blizzard into a hug, which the nindroid glady returned.

"I'm so glad you three made it here safe"

What are y’all’s favourite candy

Before any of the bizarros could answer, Safa popped up in front of the screen. 

"Oh! Oh! I like chocolate candies! And lollipops! and sour gummies! and candy bricks! And-"

"Y'like alotta candies, don't ya?" Daemon chuckled, cutting her off. The younger brunette just nodded, stepping out of the way so the Bizarros could answer. 

"Well...uh...I guess, like Safa, sour gummies 're my favorite... I dunno if Blizzard likes candies..." Daemon turned to look at the icy bizarro.

"Do...you even eat??" 

Blizzard frowned, ignoring his fellow bizarro to answer the anon. "I'm not one for candies, I prefer milkshakes" 

There was silence for a moment before Safa grabbed the camera. 

"Now it's Ayden and Azul's turns!!"

"Careful with that Safa!"

"I am!"

Moments later, a video call was on screen, showing two young men. One was in an apartment and another by what appeared to be a snowy tree. 

Azul gave an excited wave, shifting slightly in his apartment "Hi! Safa says the first question is on candies! I personally like jelly beans and creme eggs, and blue candies especially! Now it's Ayden's turn!"

"Ayden" looked to the camera, not seeming to interested in talking to others. "I like hot candies. That's it, I've answered your question"
