#Sunkist #SunkistWatermelonLemonade #RealSugarFlavoredLemonadeReview
I tried the Real Sugar Sunkist Watermelon Lemonade and it was pretty good.
This had a lightly sweet watermelon taste but I didn't taste artificial watermelon to me.
This drink was not overly lemon sour tasting but more like eating a fresh cut watermelon which I was surprised.
This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I would drink this again but rarely due to the real sugar.
I hope Sunkist can make diet or zero versions of these lemonades.
Got a Speedway.

Steve's Liquor Review
It’s extremely hard to get a Kill Pretty employee to do even 30 minutes of actual work in a week. We beg, we plead, but our cries go unheard. This week I asked Steve to write something, anything. He said, “Like what?” I said, “Review anything. You can literally go to the liquor store and review alcohol. I don’t care!” Steve thought this was a great idea. A reason to drink! The next day I literally got photos of his review on a piece of paper. So here’s what I was able to decipher from his scrawlings. Please excuse the formatting and lack of real “reviewing” as I can only assume he was totally shitfaced by the time he got to his chips.
Tyler Nacho - Editor
We begin by putting “Sipping On Some Sizzurp”, by Three 6 Mafia on full blast out of the phone. Once the ambience is set, we dive into the Seagram’s Escapes “Strawberry Daiquiri”, which is 3.2% alcohol by volume. It’s made in Rochester, NY, which is why I got it because I love products made near my hometown where nothing good has ever happened.
Twist off cap. Looks like cough syrup. Actually not that sugary- not that bad. I could actually see myself drinking this on purpose after four or more beers. As a refresher. I also got some rap snacks. Fetty Wap’s and Lil Boosie’s chips- Honey Jalapeño and BBQ flavors, respectively. Listening to Lil Boosie because I like his name better than Fetty Wap. I do not like this music. Actually, the album “Gangsta Music Chopped and Screwed” has good tracks, but who ever met a chopped and screwed track they didn’t like? The burps are disturbing and the drink is red and sticky and so are my lips. Very gross but not as bad as it looks.
Overall rating- C
Steel Reserve Hard Pineapple Flavor
I was prepared for a disgusting drink- again- not bad. All these things kind of taste like Mike’s Hard Lemonade. It’s only 8%. Most beers at my bar are of a similar strength. What happened to high gravity malt liquor? This shit is pretty good. Again- would drink on purpose if I was already drinkin’ and there was nothing else on hand. Suddenly my eyes lose focus and I’m thinking about my dead mother. Lil Boosie seems like a profound thinker. The song is called “Cocaine Fever.”
This is a tall can and I’m beginning to feel weird. In real life I’m not permitted sugar. It makes me brash. I can absolutely imagine goosing a friend right now. For no reason. Also I would grab and bite a stranger’s penis.
I had to stop listening to Lil Boosie. Overwhelming urge to listen to UGK chopped and screwed.
Moving on to the Schlitz High Gravity “The Bull” 24 oz. can. It’s not a crazy gross flavored thing, just 8.5% malt liquor. I got it because my name is Toro so I like bull themed stuff. Ever notice how everyone thinks their birthday is the best day? Like 4/20 and your own birthday are the days most people prefer. So I like stuff with bulls on it. Because I’m Toro. Don’t worry, I think that’s pathetic too. But I think we’re all pathetic.
This beer is making me tired. UGK is sick. I am thinking about when I ran a college bar and how much I hate white children. I was once a white child. I wish an adult had made me listen to “Ass and Titties” as a kid. Did you know I didn’t like Wu-Tang until I was 18? I’m from western Massachusetts. What do you expect? White people are everywhere and we want to colonize you. The bill tastes like wheat and sugar made a liquid baby, and that baby looked at you and made you realize your entire life has been a waste.
Rap Snacks
Fetty Wap chips: Not great. Very sweet. Not bad. Lots of sugar. Too sweet. Fetty Wap blew it. Lil Boosie said “Dick A Make You Do Some Shit.” I love Lil Boosie. His chips are the best. Far superior to the Fetty Wap chip. The Fetty Wap chip is no good. Fetty Wap is a liar. Also they spelled jalapeño like “jalapeno” not jalapeño.

During the 1990s, one of Pyotr Smirnov’s descendants started producing Smirnov (Смирновъ) vodka in Russia, claiming to be “The Only Real Smirnov.”[7] After a number of lawsuits, Smirnoff successfully reclaimed its trademark, while in 2006 Diageo concluded a joint venture deal with the Smirnov company.[8]
The Smirnoff company had the naming rights to the Smirnoff Music Centre, a concert amphitheater in Dallas, Texas from 2000-08.[9] It also sponsored the Smirnoff Underbelly, a major venue at the Edinburgh Fringe.
In the late-1990s, Smirnoff introduced a series of new products onto the UK and later the European and North American market, which quickly became popular among young people, especially within the club scene (see “Alcopops“).
There are two different products by the name of Smirnoff Ice: one, sold in France and the United States, is a citrus-flavoured malt beverage (5.0% ABV) with variants in “Original”, and “Triple Black”. The other, sold in Europe (excluding France), Latin America, Australia and Canada, is a premixed vodka drink. It also has variants in “Original” and “Black Ice” (or in some markets, “Triple Black” or “Double Black”), ranging from 4.5% in the UK, to 7% ABV in different markets.
The Smirnoff Ice marketed in the United States contains no vodka, according to the official Smirnoff website.[10] It is more similar to beer than to vodka, primarily because it is brewed. However outside of the US and countries who receive US manufactured vodka it does contain Smirnoff Vodka No. 21.
History of smirnoff
Pyotr Arsenyevitch Smirnov (9 January 1831 – 29 November 1898) founded his vodka distillery in Moscow under the trade name PA Smirnov in 1864, pioneered charcoal filtration in the 1870s, and by 1886 had captured two-thirds of the market in Moscow by virtue of the first use of newspaper advertising while suppressing clerical calls for temperance by generously contributing to the clergy. Russian royalty reportedly regarded Smirnov as a favorite. When Pyotr died, his third son Vladimir succeeded him. The company flourished and produced more than four million cases of vodka per year.

My Keto Snack Box December 2019 Review + Coupon
This is our first review of My Keto Snack Box! We are reviewing the December 2019 box. While I have not tried the Keto diet, I "try" to eat as low carb as possible. The key word here is "try" because it's not always easy or convenient to find low carb, delicious foods or snacks. That's where My Keto Box comes in! They ship keto-friendly snacks to you so you'll have tasty low carb snacks on hand whenever you need them! If you don't know what a keto diet is, it is a low-carb (and usually high-fat) diet that will help with weight loss. When you reduce carb intake and replace it with fat intake, your body goes into a state of ketosis, which makes your body incredibly efficient at burning fat for energy. Many of my friends have been on the keto diet, and I can tell you that it really helped them lose pounds. What is My Keto Snack Box? When you sign up with My Keto Snack Box, every month you will receive a box of carefully curated snacks. What you'll get: 8 to 11+ Different Keto Snack Choices Less than 5 grams of net carbs per serving Shipping: FREE (US) Where it ships to: US and International When it ships: 7th of the month DEAL: Get 11% off My Keto Snack Box using this link and coupon HOLIDAY2019 We received this box for review purposes. My Keto Snack Box December 2019 Review My Keto Snack Box arrived in a pretty heavy white and green box.
Here is our first peek into the box!
Southern Breeze Pre-Sweetened Cold Brew Half & Half Sweet Tea - 20 Single Serve Tea Bags - est. $4 This tea is already pre-sweetened with sucralose. It has 0 grams of carbs and is also zero calorie. All you need to do is steep the tea in 8 oz of cold water for 5 minutes and then pour it over cold ice. This tea actually had a real tea and lemonade (half & half), and was very sweet - just as southern sweet tea should be.
FBomb Macadamia Pecan Nut Butter - $2.79 at Target This FBomb is from FatBomb and is meant to give you a shot of energy when you need it. Fat is necessary for a keto diet, so this is a simple and easy way to get in convenient packet. This macadamia pecan with sea salt nut butter had a really rich, flavorful taste and was only 4 grams of carbs. I would definitely buy more of these in the future. They are gluten free, non-GMO, dairy-free, and peanut free.
Pro-Puffs Loaded Baked Potato - $5.99 I was quite surprised with all of the amazing loaded baked potato flavors that were in these little puffs! You can really taste creamy potato, bacon bits, green onion, sour cream and cheddar. These puffs have a total of only 3 grams of carbs and 21 grams of protein. Even better, they only have 1 gram of fat and there are only 150 calories in this single serving pouch. As a bonus, these puffs are gluten free and soy free.
KetoLogic Keto BhB Orange Mango - est. $2 This ketone supplement suppresses your appetite andd fuels both physical and mental performance. It will get you into a state of ketosis, and will give you an energy boost at the same time. You can use this to replace one meal a day. All you need to do is mix 1 packet with 8-12 ounces of water, shake, and drink slowly.
Cofo Provisions Collagen MCT Mix (Rich Chocolate) - $4.50 on Amazon.com This marine based collagen is sourced from US waters in Alaska from wild-caught fish and is non-GMO. This mix will give you mental focus and physical energy. You can mix it in coffee or tea, smoothies, soup, cereal, or water.
The Kale Factory Kale Krackers "Cheezy" Dill - est. $2 on Amazon.com I sometimes make Kale "crackers" by roasting kale in the oven with olive oil. They don't keep very well, but these Kale Krackers would! They are made with all natural ingredients including kale, flax seeds, sunflowers seeds, cashews, sesame seeds, etc. These are keto friendly because they have only 3 grams of net carbs for this entire pouch! These crackers were pretty good and had a nice crunch to them.
The Chocolate Trader Keto 80% Dark Chocolate Almond Bark - $5.99 This dark chocolate almond bark has only 2 grams of net carbs per serving, and there are 4 servings in this bag. That means there is a lot of chocolate you can eat in one sitting! Since this chocolate is sweetened with monk fruit extract, it has a slight aftertaste, but is great if you can't have chocolate on your keto or low carb diet!
Buff Bake Fuel Bar + MCT (Cinnamon Crunch) - $2.50 This Buff Bake bar tasted just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch! The whole bar has only 4 grams of net carbs and has 12 grams of plant based protein. This bar is keto friendly, vega, non-dairy, non-GMO, and gluten free. I can totally see eating these bars in the future as a convenient on the go breakfast or snack.
Good to Go Raspberry Lemon Snack Bar - $2.67 on Amazon.com This is a soft baked bar (think Nutri-Grain texture) that has only 3 grams of net carbs and 7 grams of fiber. It is made with almond flour, lemon, freeze dried rasperries, erythritol, etc. My kids tried this bar and really like it! This bar is on my buy-again list as well.
Pyure Organic Sugar-Free Harmless Hunny - $8.80 on Amazon This sugar-free honey alternative is sweetened with organic Stevia and is also non-GMO. 1 tablespoon of this hunny is only 4 grams of net carbs, which is pretty amazing! This would be great for anyone on a strict keto, diabetic, or low carb diet. While this doesn't taste like real honey, it could be a good substitute if you really miss or need a honey-like taste. There is a stevia aftertaste, so if you are used to to this, it may be a good alternative for you.
If you share you My Keto Snack Box snacks using #MyKetoSnackBox, you'll be entered to win a free 3-month subscription!
In Summary The December My Keto Snack Box had a nice assortment of super low-carb, keto friendly snacks that will make it so much easier to curb any temptation to stray from your low-carb diet. My favorite items in this box were the Good to Go Bar and Buff Bake Bar. I also really like the Dark Chocolate Almond Bark and Pro Puffs. If you or know of anyone who is trying to lose weight or get healthier on these diets, My Keto Snack Box would make a great gift for you or them! I'm excited to have these snacks at the ready now that holiday parties are getting closer! DEAL: Get 11% off My Keto Snack Box using this link and coupon HOLIDAY2019

With Ocean Spray Brew, Cold Brew Enters Into Late Stage Combination
When cold brew saw the breadth of its domain, it wept for there were no more things to combine with.
Have you started experimenting in the kitchen yet? Maybe you’ve gotten into sourdough (the bread isn’t sour, it’s all the people who have opinions on your bread making that are sour). Perhaps it’s biscuits. I hear growing scallions is having a moment. Being cooped up inside for an extended period of time and a pantry of odds and ends make strange bedfellows. Strange like “pita chip cinnamon sugar raisin string cheese nachos” weird. It’s sweet, it’s savory, it’s salty; in theory it should work, right?
Turns out the folks over at Ocean Spray are going a little stir crazy too, because they’re stirring cold brew coffee into their cranberry juice and it’s well… you see where this is going.
As reported by Delish, the seemingly incongruous union of cold brew coffee and “fruit juice” goes by the name Ocean Spray Brew and it is currently available in two flavors: Cranberry Blueberry and Cranberry Lemonade. Per the Ocean Spray website, both versions are touted as “providing natural energy and antioxidants with no added sugar” as well as being an “excellent source of antioxidant vitamin C and vitamin B.” It also gets most of its caffeine from green coffee extract instead of the “splash of real cold brew coffee” it is made with, so do with that information what you will.
Assuming I haven’t lost you thus far, the real question remains: how does it taste? The reviews on the Ocean Spray website are unsurprisingly bi-modal—either you love it or you hate, five stars or one star—but are overall very positive, each holding an average rating of four out of five stars. But if five-star review titles like “interesting” and “so much better than expected” and “surprise! It actually tastes good” are any indication, Ocean Spray Brew seems to benefit from lowered expectations.
But don’t let me or some anonymous internet people tell you how to feel about the Brew. You’re an adult and can decide for yourself how you think cold brew and fruit juice from concentrate taste together. Both flavors of Ocean Spray Brew are currently available at Target AND are eligible for in-store pickup or delivery. You can get Sprayded—aka “faded on the Spray,” a term I just came up with and Ocean Spray can have if they would like to pay for it—in a socially responsible (and secretive) way.
Or, if you are put off by all the extra ingredients, might I suggest a few natural alternatives? For the Cranberry Blueberry, make a whole mess of cold brew with a natural processed Ethiopian coffee, perhaps an Ardi, and then top it off with an iced Kenyan coffee. You’ve got the blueberry based from the Ardi and then a nice sparkling cranberry flavor from the Kenya. For the Cranberry Lemonade, make your cold brew using an underdeveloped washed Yirgacheffe and then top it off with the same Kenya iced coffee. Sour lemon and cranberry flavor explosion!

#DollarTree #CottBeverageStrawberryLemonade #RealSugarFlavoredLemonade #RealSugarFlavoredLemonadeReview
I tried the Cott Beverage Strawberry Lemonade and it was pretty good.
This tasted way better than the blueberry version and had a light strawberry taste with a light lemony taste at the end. This had a watery texture to it and reminded me of the Kool-Aid jammers I had. This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I would drink this again.
Got at Dollar Tree.
I mixed this with the Diet Ski and it was pretty good.
This mix gave the Diet Ski a nice strawberry sweet flavor that went with the orange but muted the lemon flavor in both drinks. So it just taste like a lightly sweet orange strawberry soda.
I would drink this again.
I mixed this with the Mountain Dew Summer Freeze Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
This mix had a fruity flavor mix of strawberry, lemon, raspberry, and a light cherry. This was a little sweet but not overly to me.
I would drink this again.
I mixed this with the Big K Ginger Ale Zero Sugar and it was okay.
The ginger ale overpowered the strawberry lemonade but gave this drink a light lemony taste but the light strawberry flavor was gone.
I would drink this again.
I mixed this with Fanta Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
This soda tasted like a light strawberry and orange but the Fanta zero sugar overpowered the lemon flavor in the lemonade. This was smooth tasting in texture due to no fizziness in this mix. This was lightly sweet tasting to me.
I would drink this again.
I mixed the Kroger Big K Lemon Lime Zero Sugar Soda and it was pretty good.
This mix was fizzy and the lemon lime zero sugar soda fully took over the strawberry flavor. This mix was fizzy and was lightly sweet to me.
I would drink this again but add more of the strawberry lemonade to it.
I mixed the New Pepsi Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
This just taste like Pepsi with a light strawberry taste to it. This is like if Pepsi made a similar drink like Pepsi Mango Zero Sugar but replace the mango flavor with strawberry. This was lightly sweet to me.
I would drink this again.
I mixed this with the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Caffeine Free and it was pretty good.
The Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Caffeine Free overpowered the light strawberry part of the lemonade but the lemon flavor remained. So it tastes like Coca-Cola with lemon flavor.
I would drink this again.

Subscription Box Review
Our first glimpse inside the Young Chefs’ Club package. It’s important to note that the recipes that are included in these boxes are tested by a group of more than 5000 kids and they have to have AT LEAST an 80% approval rating … making this great for those very particular little palettes!
Everything that came in our Taco Truck themed package. I have to say that we take Taco Tuesday in our house very seriously so I was super pumped to get this box!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert. This tells us about the subscription and the Taco Truck theme for the month.
Every package from Young Chefs’ Club comes with a little pin that kind of embodies the box for the monht. Love this Team Taco pin and guess what… Mom’s stealing it for herself!
The first recipe in our box are DIY Corn Tortillas. Along with our recipe we also receive this cool plastic tortilla press… which if you’ve ever tried making your own tortillas can imagine how helpful this is. The circle on the bag allows kids to see visually the size expectation as well, which is nice.
I really love all the information that is included in the recipe cards. It doesn’t just explain the what… but it also explains the how. I know as an adult this is imperative for me to learn and think it must be for the kids as well!
Our next recipe is Vegetable Tacos. This is a great vegetarian alternative to traditional tacos and includes black beans, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, zucchini, corn and your DIY tortillas. Check our IG stories on Tuesdays for some of these great creations.
While this is labeled an intermediate recipe if you have kids that are in the kitchen with you frequently they’ll probably have lots of fun creating this! The colors of the vegetables are beautiful and the recipe calls for mashing the beans (which keeps most of your taco filling inside, so clever) which I think most kids would find pretty darn fun!
Our next recipe is Cabbage Slaw. This is a beginner activity and is great for younger kids who just want to mix things and experiment! The best part is it’s just a three ingredient recipe; green coleslaw mix, lime juice and salt!
Another thing I like about this subscription are the scientific facts they include about food! For instance this card explains that the salt in this recipe draws water out of the cabbage making it more crunchy and delicious!
Each box from Young Chefs’ Club comes with a “Make it your way Challenge” These give kids options and allows them to be creative.
The back of the card gives kids ideas and also breaks the taco down into four different parts to make it a little less overwhelming. There’s the wrapper, filling, toppings and sauce. All looks yummy to me!
Next up in our box is an Experiment. Here’s we’ll see how the acids in lemons keep avocados from turning brown!
I love that this card asks kids to make a prediction about the halves of avocado (one has lemon juice and the other doesn’t). The scientific method in real life, creating hypothesis!
The back explains the why of the experiment and encourages children to try with other acids like lime juice or vinegar. This is a quick experiment that is great beginners and older kids alike!
Our next recipe is Pickled Red Onions. I have been on a pickling kick lately so I knew we had to try this one out. This is great for beginners and uses just five ingredients; red onion, white wine vinegar (I didn’t have that so I mixed red wine and white vinegar), lime juice, sugar and salt.
This is a simple recipe and while this can be used on tacos you can also use this on burgers, sandwiches and I think a great addition to salads as well!
First you’ll thinly slice the onion and set aside in a bowl.
Then in a small saucepan you’ll combine the vinegar, lime juice, salt and sugar.
You’ll bring this to a boil on high heat and then turn off your burner.
Finally, you’ll add the liquid to your bowl. Allow mixture to cool and then drain your onions and serve with your dish. I actually kept my liquid and jarred these onions! I think the longer they marinate in that vinegar the better they’ll get!
Each package from Young Chefs’ Club comes with a Technique card as well. I like this as it gets kids a little more acclimated with different kitchen tasks. This first is how to shred meat and will be used in coordination with our Chicken Tinga Tacos recipe (coming up)
The back of this card tells us about braising meat and how that not only tenderizes meat but also creates a flavorful sauce.
Our final recipe in this box are Chicken Tinga Tacos. This is a more advanced recipe but that doesn’t mean little ones can’t help and be a part!
So we’ll be using that braising technique in this recipe to get very tender chicken thighs made in a smoky tomato chipotle sauce. We’ll also be using our DIY Corn Tortillas, Cabbage Slaw and Pickled Red Onions for this recipe!
The back of our card explains what the tinga recipe means and how Chipotle peppers (which are actually smoked and dried jalapenos) relate to it. It’s all really interesting!
And of course a Taco Truck themed box would NOT be complete without an actual Taco Truck.
First the kids color in their Taco Truck!
Even Penny who is 12 wanted to get in on this action!
I think this came our super cute but we aren’t done quite yet!
Next you fold the edges.
Next you’ll join each of the edges together and either tape them or glue them. I chose to tape them because I felt like it would last longer. Adding the money on top was my crazy kids’ idea.
I think this was so cute… it made me smile.
And my kids added this ad hoc window to the side which made me laugh!
In each package from Young Chefs’ Club there is also a sheet of stickers that fits into the theme of this box. I love these. I know my kids want them but I can’t bring myself to share!
There’s also this big fold out poster that is double sided. The first side encourages kids to build their own Taco Truck Menu. There’s space for a name, logo and menu including tacos, sides, drinks and desserts.
Belle named her Taco Truck, “Belle’s Beloved Tacos” and her logo along with her tacos will be in the shape of a B. I laughed out loud at that, so cute!
Our her menu for tacos are veggie tacos, carnivore tacos and hard shell tacos and a SUN TACO (still not sure what that is). For sides we have chips & dip, rainbow chips, spicy fries and potato chips. Drinks will be the Green Dragon, Unicorn, Lemonade and Chocolate Milk of course. Our desserts at Belle’s Beloved Tacos are Choco Tacos and Candy Roll Ups.
I think it’s a most excellent restaurant idea!
The other side of this post explains to children the secret science of corn tortillas, a process of nixtamalization for soaking and pickling corn kernels to get the desired consistency and flavor for Masa Harina.
#gallery-0-4 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-4 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Belle had a lot of fun coloring this in!
The final item in our Young Chefs’ Club package is this packet of Chipotle Morita Chile from The Spice House which will be used in our Chicken Tinga Tacos!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything is package well and is clearly marked and simple to follow in this package and everything arrived to us perfectly.
Quality: I feel like the recipes are so well thought out and everything is made so that it’s easy for parents and children to follow and the recipes really are high quality!
Curation: I couldn’t be more thrilled with the curation of the boxes from Young Chefs’ Club. Not only are they brought together excellently but I love that this is a comprehensive package, that combines experimentation, creativity and science with a bonding activity like cooking! Can’t wait to see what Young Chefs’ Club has in store for the future!

My Knowledge in Detoxing
I’m a 25-year researcher in human detoxification. My grandmother, who beat cancer with the highly detoxifying Gerson protocol, after saying no to chemo and radiation, gave me all the books she studied, as she decided what to do after her metastatic melanoma diagnosis.
In my 20’s, I was overweight, and suffering from 21 different diagnosed medical problems.
Fascination with How The Human Body Detoxifies Itself
I became fascinated by the ways that the human body filters, cleans house and repairs itself every day — and sometimes gets backed up.
My many years of study, experimentation, and interviews with experts has led me to some interesting conclusions I’d like to share with you.
What Detoxifying Did for Me
Doing a twice-a-year detox has led to me being in ideal health, with no disease states, symptoms, or medications, at the age of 50.
Going Beyond Expectations
When I was sick, and verging on obesity, half my life ago, I could never have imagined that a quarter-century later, after raising four children, that I’d have climbed the ratings throughout my 40’s, in a competitive sport I never played in high school.
I couldn’t have dreamed that I’d have the energy to build a 7-figure business as a single mom. Or that I would write 15 books in a decade, more prolific in my professional work than I’d ever been before.
Change Your Lifestyle
I’m not telling you this to brag.
I’m telling you this to suggest what your body and mind are capable of if you learn a bit about how to detoxify, regularly.
This could not be more important, in the toxic world we live in.
(The other part of the equation is to change your eating habits throughout the year. I don’t eat a perfect diet, but these days, I do eat a very healthy diet, year-round.)
How Do Toxins Enter Your Body?
I couldn’t have imagined that, in my 20’s, because I felt like I was dying. My energy was constantly drained, I had little sex drive, and I didn’t even want to go on vacation—it seemed too exhausting!
To be honest, I wasn’t a great mom, when my babies began to arrive, because I was barely getting through each day.
Drinking Radioactive Dairy Milk
I didn’t realize that toxicity was at the root of my problems. You see, I was a “downwinder baby.” That is, I wasn’t breastfed, and I spent the first year of my life drinking radioactive dairy milk.
(Radioactive material falls on the grass, the cows eat the grass, and the milk had 500 times more radioactivity than what is deemed reasonable by the FDA.)
Living Near a Nuclear Test Site in the U.S.
I lived within range of the Nevada nuclear test site, where the U.S. government was detonating bombs until I was 9 months old.
Later, thyroid cancer patients would win a class-action lawsuit against the federal government, as the American public learned that the toxic heavy metals from the bombs caused devastating health problems for millions of Americans who lived within 300 miles of that site, during years of detonations.
Exposure to Toxic Chemicals
Even if you weren’t downwind of Chernobyl or Fukushima, or the Nevada nuclear site — you’re exposed to over 80,000 chemicals approved for use on our crops, in our water, and in our food.
Dentists, farmer, and cosmetologists have the highest disease and death rates, of all North American professions, and the one thing they have in common is high chemical exposure.
Everyday Contaminants
We all have varying degrees of exposure to glyphosate (Roundup), and heavy metals from car exhaust and dental procedures and contaminated fish.
We’re all exposed to Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP’s) that don’t biodegrade in the environment, and many other types of carcinogenic, hormone-disruptive, and neurodegenerative chemicals that our body doesn’t eliminate well.
Review of the Detoxifying Drinks
In this article, I will review the popular “quickie” detox programs involving detoxifying drinks that you consume, for days, or weeks, without other food—and I’ll review the pros and cons of each, and what they can accomplish, in helping you be healthier.
While I believe we’d all benefit by a biannual detox, eating very clean, and doing simple procedures to accelerate output from our various organs of elimination, let’s review some of the very simple detoxifying drinks that are popular, these days.
There are Different Results for Each Drink
Some of these programs are better than others—and some aren’t particularly helpful at all.
As awareness increases that toxicity is at the root of all chronic illness, many of us take a few days’ break from our normal diet and seek to rest, rebuild, and repair the body’s organs. So, what works?
We’ll review:
Lemon Water Detox
Apple Cider Vinegar Detox
Cranberry Juice Detox
Dandelion Tea Detox
Protein Drink Detox
Vegetable Juicing Detox
Water Fasting and Dry Fasting
Olive Oil Gallbladder Flush
Then, I’ll review what I think you need to know, before undertaking a major cleanse.
1. The Lemon Water Detox
Often called “The Master Cleanse,” this protocol involves putting fresh lemon juice in water and sweetening it with maple syrup.
Use REAL Maple Syrup
If you try this, you’ll want to use Grade B (the best) or at least Grade A (less pure) maple syrup—not the flavored syrups made with corn syrup.
Lemon juice creates a more alkaline environment in the body, shifting your pH up a bit. Even though it tastes acidic—and it is—inside your digestive tract, it becomes highly alkalizing.
Counter the Lemon’s Acidity
Some experts believe that because lemon juice is acidic on tooth enamel, if you drink this often, you should drink it with a straw, to let the liquid start at the back of your throat.
(Or, gargle with baking soda in water, to shift the mouth’s pH back to more alkaline, after drinking your lemon water daily.)
Acidity can Breed Diseases
Most of us are slightly more acidic than we should be, which makes us more vulnerable to viruses and bacterial infection, as well as prone to more serious conditions like cancer and autoimmune disease.
Fasting Since Before Civilizations
I think fasting is a wonderful, time-tested and science-backed practice, and of course, our ancestors fasted, on a regular occasion—though not on purpose!
The hunter-gatherer societies couldn’t always find food, in the winter, and fairly long periods without food were common in many parts of history. Agrarian societies, too, had little protection against drought conditions.
Going Into the State of Autophagy
It turns out, going without a few meals is very good for your body. The latest diet fad, Ketogenic, is preoccupied with putting the system into a state of burning ketones, for fuel. I think far more interesting is the body’s tendency, when it has no food, to go into a state of autophagy.
That is, the highly mobilized white blood cells scavenge waste products and aberrant cells, including cancer, mold, viruses, bacteria, and mycotoxins.
Detoxify the Body to Repair and Rebuild
With the lemon juice cleanse, you aren’t always in ketosis, nor are you entirely in autophagy. However, much of the body’s energy that normally goes to digestion, is freed up to do some rebuilding and repair. (Less than if you fasted, for days, but far more than if you were eating your normal diet.)
Any healthy, alkaline drink and a period of no food is a good practice, for shifting pH to improve immune function, reset the body’s systems, and lose a few pounds in the process.
Avoid the Herxheimer Reaction
People who have high levels of toxicity, however, have a high likelihood of “Herxheimer” reactions—often in the very first day of not eating and drinking only the detox beverage. The most common “Herx” reactions are headache, changes in digestive output, fatigue, blood sugar fluctuations, and feeling cold, especially at the extremities.
Do the Master Cleanse
In the early years of my detox research, I did “The Master Cleanse” (also called the “lemon water cleanse” or the LemonAid cleanse) a few times. Sometimes for over a week.
How Does the Maple Syrup Boost this Detox Water?
I felt great, as the sugar from the maple syrup maintained my blood sugar, compared to a water fast or dry fast (see the comparison to a water or dry fast, below).
Put in Maple Syrup in Moderation
However, taking in that much simple sugar (even though maple syrup contains minerals and is less refined than corn syrup, cane sugar, or artificial sweeteners) will cause spikes and crashes in your blood sugar, and the potential for insulin resistance. (No more so than a person who eats refined sugar every day!)
Side Effect of Severe Calorie Restriction
If your goal is weight loss, while you will lose weight in the short term, severe calorie restriction is not a good way to lose weight, as study after study documents that well over 95 percent of dieters regain as much—or more—of the weight as they lost!
Barely Sweeten the Lemon Water
If you try this cleanse, you may want to cut out half of the maple syrup, to only barely sweeten the lemon water, or use half maple syrup, and a bit of stevia or monk fruit. (These are refined sweeteners, but more natural, with little impact on your blood sugar.)
The Cayenne Pepper
The Master Cleanse also uses cayenne pepper in your lemonade. The medicinal compound in it is capsaicin, which increases caloric burn, dilates blood vessels, reducing blood pressure, and increases elimination through your various organ systems.
Effortless Short Detox
While I don’t think you’ll accomplish comprehensive detoxification with this protocol, it’s a quick, low-effort rest from digestion, and a good flush for a few days.
And as an added benefit: Hesperetin and diosmin (flavonoids found in lemons) have been shown to lower cholesterol. 1 2
2. Apple Cider Vinegar Detox
Apple cider vinegar is another highly alkalizing drink, and its benefits disappear when it’s heated to high temperatures, so be sure to purchase the “raw” version.
You’ll find the “mother” at the bottom of the bottle, which is the mass of living organisms that ferment the apple juice.
Probiotic Bacteria in ACV
The ferment is full of beneficial bacteria, helping to repopulate a distressed gut damaged by antibiotics and other drugs, as well as a processed-food diet.
Unlike the maple syrup added to lemon juice, ACV has very low sugar, and some evidence shows it lowers your appetite, possibly making a no-food cleanse, now and then, easier to endure.
Dilute the Apple Cider Vinegar
So, apple cider vinegar can be a good way to start the morning, but add 2 Tbsp. of vinegar to 4 cups of water, and try to drink the whole quart before noon, skipping breakfast.
This is an excellent flush, and then you can eat your afternoon and evening meal, in a modified cleanse.
Drink with a Straw
As with lemon juice, vinegar is actually acidic on your teeth and can erode enamel over time. So if you’re going to make a habit of this drink, consider drinking it with a straw, so that the acids don’t sit in your mouth.
(Again, the drink is acidic, but forms alkaline “ash” in the body, for an increase in pH. This is helpful for most of us who are slightly too acidic from not just chemical exposure, but also eating dairy products, animal flesh, refined grains, soda, and sugar.)
Buy Raw ACV
So if you try this protocol, either as a very diluted drink every morning, or as your only nourishment during a day or two of rest from solid food, make sure you buy your vinegar raw. Bragg’s is a very established and credible brand, and you can find it in most natural products stores.
The Benefits of Having ACV in Your Diet
Whether or not you use apple cider vinegar in your detox, it’s a good daily addition to your diet. Studies show that In addition to cleansing your body, regular use of apple cider vinegar helps to normalize blood sugar levels and reduce blood pressure. 3 4
3. Cranberry Juice Detox
Cranberry juice is quite low in sugar and has been researched extensively for its liver and kidney detoxifying functions, and especially as preventative for urinary tract infections. The prevailing theory is that compounds in the cranberry move microbes through the ureter and bladder, not allowing them to build up and cause infection.
Helps Prevent Infection
Several studies have confirmed the link between cranberries and urinary tract health. The proanthocyanidins it contains prevent E.Coli (which is the cause of around 85 percent of urinary tract infections) from adhering to the cells that line the urinary tract. 5 6
Improves Liver Function
Other cranberry compounds have been shown to protect and heal the liver. 7 8 Since the liver serves you in at least 500 different ways, anyone who is trying to stop drinking alcohol may want to spend a few days doing this flush. You can improve output and overall health of this all-important organ by diluting 4 ounces of cranberry juice, in a quart of water (4 cups), and have it in lieu of food, all morning.
Buy Organic Cranberries
The ideal solution is to buy fresh or frozen organic cranberries and juice them yourself. If this isn’t possible, be sure to buy a no-sugar-added organic form of the juice.
Then you can eat a healthy meal at lunch, and dinner.
Alternatively, you can drink nothing but the diluted cranberry juice for 2-3 days.
4. Dandelion Tea Detox
Many teas have catechins, polyphenols, and other classes of antioxidants that are great liver detoxification and cancer prevention, and none are better than dandelion tea.
Healthy Weed in the Garden
The weed in your yard has edible greens, and if I find some in an unsprayed area, I throw them in my green smoothie every chance I get.
Now I can even buy them, in the summer, in the health food store. Some homeowners may think it’s funny that this weed is in such high demand, as a detoxifier, that there are now farmers growing cultivated dandelion, and selling it, Certified Organic!
Natural Remedy for Sickness
But it’s helpful as a laxative and is healing for the liver especially. It’s a great home remedy to have on hand for stomach flu, nausea, food poisoning, or gas.
Protection Against Toxins
A study conducted at the Western University of Health Science, College of Pharmacy found that rats receiving dandelion tea exhibited a dramatic increase (244%) in the activity of a detoxifying enzyme important in the protection against toxins found in our environment and food as well as carcinogens. (9)
Great Tonic Against Alcohol
It’s another great liver tonic for people wanting to heal from excessive alcohol use, and you may even want to alternate diluted cranberry juice (see above) and dandelion tea for that purpose.
The Dandelion’s Bitter Taste
The fresh greens don’t taste good, at all, if your palate doesn’t respond well to bitterness.
Bitters, however, stimulate bile production better and more naturally than anything else, and chewing a leaf of dandelion greens, or drinking the tea, 10 to 20 minutes before a meal, is very helpful to anyone in need of improving their liver, gut, or overall health.
(You can do this, before meals, as well, for excellent benefits, even when not doing a dandelion tea cleanse.)
Mix it in Your Green Smoothie
You can make dandelion tea the base of a green smoothie, which won’t improve the taste of the smoothie, but it will significantly mask the tea’s flavor!
This is a less popular protocol than the nicely flavored lemon water and cranberry juice detoxes, but dandelion tea would be a great thing to drink, every morning, in lieu of breakfast, for one to two weeks, anytime your intuition or symptoms tell you that you need some extra care and rest from heavy digestion.
5. Protein Drinks Detox
I believe that protein drinks, as a cleanse, have come to popularity for very poor reasons.
Marketers discovered “the motherlode,” when they found ways to put byproducts of various food manufacturing industries, in a bag, and sell it to a protein-obsessed world.
The Atkins Diet and Overeating Protein
The Atkins Diet created a frenzy in the American people, a fear that they are not getting enough protein—even though nothing could be further from the truth.
Americans are now overeating protein, anywhere from 200 percent to 600 percent more than what is needed, and ideal—especially those on the animal-products-rich Paleo and Ketogenic diets, and those eating most versions of the Standard American Diet, as well.
Processed Whey Protein
Whey protein was discovered by dairy manufacturers, as a way to get more profit out of processing of milk products. It’s highly processed, low in micronutrients, devoid of fiber, but a very profitable “fake” food that has nothing to do with detoxifying.
Use Organic Plant Proteins
Organic plant proteins are far more nutritious, and a good choice for those who are weaning themselves off a highly animal-products diet. A very rare, high-quality protein in a bag—organic, plant-based, and made of the whole food, not an “isolate”—is your best choice if adding protein helps you in transitioning. These types of protein products are literally less than 1 percent of the proteins offered on the market!
Eat Whole Foods as Detoxifying Foods
But overall, eating whole foods, the kind that grows in the ground and on trees, are the tools of any good detoxification program.
The reason is that these plant foods are highest in micronutrients, easy to digest, and when eaten in their whole form, full of fiber, as well, insoluble fiber dragging the gastrointestinal tract and soluble fiber absorbing toxins.
Bone Broth and Collagen
Bone broth proteins are trending, and collagen protein is a derivative and highly processed, with no health benefits actually documented, only marketing claims.
Bone broth is, in fact, healing to the gut—but most brands of bone broth are full of toxins including heavy metals, so if you decide to give it a try, either boil your own organic or grass fed bones or buy a brand that you trust to be toxin-free.
6. Vegetable Juicing Detox
A juicing protocol of all organic greens, vegetables, and some fruits like lemon and green apple, came into popularity with the work of Max Gerson, M.D., in the mid-20th century.
Dr. Gerson cured his own lifelong, debilitating migraines, and then helped thousands of others do the same, in Nazi Germany, with the juicing protocol.
Dr. Gerson’s Juicing Protocol
When Dr. Gerson fled to the United States, he discovered the efficacy of flooding the body with cancer-battling antioxidants, in a protocol of 11 glasses of fresh-pressed juices, and other natural substances that are selectively cytotoxic only to malignant cells.
Detoxing to Cure Cancer
My own grandmother chose this approach, over chemotherapy, when diagnosed in 1981 with a very deadly cancer that had spread to her breasts and lymphatic system.
Two years later, she was completely in remission, and returned to a healthy, but more sustainable diet, and lived another 20 years free of cancer.
Rich in Antioxidants and Oxidizers
Not only are the antioxidants in carrots, beets, cucumber, celery, greens, and superfoods like turmeric and ginger, mopping up the free radicals that cause cell damage and cancer, but these juices also alkalize and oxygenate all of the tissues of the body, over time.
Benefits of Kale Juice
A study reported in Biomedical and Environmental Sciences confirmed the benefits of kale juice. Thirty-two men consumed kale juice every day for 12 weeks. The results: LDL-cholesterol levels were significantly reduced.
In addition, there was a significant increase in glutathione and selenium. When combined, these two are strong contenders in the fight against free radical damage and heart disease. (10)
Whole Foods Detox Drinks for Juice Fast
Many people drink nothing but vegetable, green, and optionally very minimal fruit juice, for many days, in a “juice fast,” and I have done it myself, many times.
You may feel a bit of a “buzz,” different from a caffeine jolt, and your appetite for normal food decreases, after a few days.
You may crave “chewing,” but this type of cleanse allows a great deal of toxicity to leave the body, and the nutrients in fresh juices are rebuilding damaged cells at the same time.
Buy Only Organic Foods
It’s important to purchase organic cucumbers, greens, and thin-skinned fruits, as they are carriers of pesticide and herbicide chemicals that penetrate the fruits and greens, difficult to wash off.
The Difficulty with This Detox Diet
Green juices, or green smoothies, with no other foods, are difficult for some, for long periods of time, due to an addiction to chewing! But this type of cleanse is highly cleansing and restorative to trillions of cells.
Interesting side note: When I first put GreenSmoothieGirl.com up in 2007, a blog by an Australian woman chronicled 5 straight months of eating nothing but green smoothies. The last time I saw the blog, she had lost over 100 pounds, and she started at over 500. She said she felt great, after her initial period of “Herxheimer” (or cleansing) reactions.
I don’t know what happened, as the blog came down. Perhaps she stopped early (her goal was a full year).
Include Satiating Foods
But, if you add a variety of greens, superfoods, and minimal fruits, you can apparently do this cleanse for quite a while, if you’re feeling competitive!
7. Water Fasting and Dry Fasting
I’ve done three water fasts, in the past two years. They were 7 days, 9 days, and 12 days in length.
This practice may be the most powerful practice of all detoxes, and monks and seekers of spiritual enlightenment have done them for thousands of years, for up to 30 days.
Difficult Fasting and Detoxification Process
They aren’t for everyone, and aren’t easy—you consume no food, only water.
People who are ill should not undertake this for more than a few days, without the guidance of a competent functional medicine practitioner.
Or, a dry fast includes no water at all, and I do not recommend this for longer than one day, for anyone eating the Standard American Diet and who has not done a significant detoxification before.
Previous Fasting Experience
I grew up in a religious tradition where we fasted one day, per month—nothing to eat, even water—for 24 hours. My family was particularly strict about the protocol, which was for spiritual benefit although the physical benefit was also acknowledged.
I secretly drank water, as I never saw the purpose of getting dehydrated—while adhering to the no-food rules, one Sunday per month.
Dry Fasting Over Water Fasting
However, at the ashram in Texas where I water fast, they claim that one day of “dry fasting” is worth 4 days of water fasting.
Dry fasting, with no water, increases the heat in the body and burns out more cancer and bacterial and other hostile and damaged cells, much more rapidly.
The Ashram in Texas
Warning: If you click the link to go to the ashram, run by Hindu monks, be aware that the accommodations are one-star, at best. You’ll have running water, access to a bathroom, and a space heater.
Electricity and hot water in the shower is, well, marginal. You won’t have any medical supervision, so for a longer-term water fast, please understand that many people will not sail through it, as I did, because I’ve detoxed bi-annually for 20 years, and have no disease states.
Plan Your Fasting at Ashram
The reason I water fast at the ashram is that I Uber there, two hours from the Dallas airport, but in the remote location, I cannot get an Uber back! (You schedule your ride to the airport the day before, with a service.)
I don’t rent a car, and there’s no town nearby—so this removes all temptation, making that aspect of the experience easier.
Many people at the ashram do eat three meals a day, so you can eat in an emergency.
Dr. Thomas Lodi | Physician
My friend, Thomas Lodi, M.D., a Columbia-trained physician treating cancer, gives every cancer patient a bibliography of the best works regarding water fasting, as he feels that this practice is the most important thing a cancer patient can do.
(I personally think that a water fast is not appropriate for a Stage IV patient in cachexia, where the body is metabolizing muscle, however.)
8. Olive Oil Gallbladder and Liver Flush
Drinking olive oil, chased by lemon or grapefruit juice, is a common protocol administered by the holistic clinics all over the world that guide patients through a full-support detox.
The Green Smoothie Girl Detox
We use it, in the GreenSmoothieGirl 26-Day Detox, but only after over two weeks of cleansing the bowel first. Let’s discuss what it can do for you, and what some of the common side effects are, and I’ll share a couple of caveats.
Supplement with Epsom Salt
Because most people do this as a standalone measure to release stones from the liver and gallbladder, most practitioners, and the protocol in most of their written works, ask the patient to take 2 tsp. of pure Epsom salts in water, once in the evening after skipping dinner, and again, in the morning if they have not seen elimination from the bowels during the night and early morning.
Eat Clean Before the Detox
As we have guided almost 13,000 people through the GreenSmoothieGirl Detox, in recent years, I find that those who have done the two preparatory weeks of eating very clean, beforehand, following the recipes, do not usually need the Epsom salt laxative to make this gallbladder cleanse and liver flush effective.
In 26 days, our detoxers lose an average of 12.5 pounds, and feel better than they have in 20 years! Watch my free Video Masterclass on these four important topics:
Could Toxicity Be Why I’m Sick?
How To Change Your Weight Set Point Forever
8 Foods That Help You Detoxify (and 11 That Cause Toxicity)
Why a PHYSICAL Detox Can Solve EMOTIONAL Problems
The diet has already addressed elimination from the 30’ to 35’ of the digestive tract.
When Should You Try this Detox?
I suggest it only if they feel that their digestive system is clogged (if they have not eliminated feces the approximate length of their fingertips to their elbow, each day), and some patients have a difficult time with the Epsom salts, as they can cause significant diarrhea. A rare person has a sensitivity to magnesium sulfate, which is the molecular name for Epsom salts, so you may want to try ½ tsp first, in water, an hour before taking the full 2 tsp dose if you are prone to allergies and sensitivities
As a standalone protocol, though, after the magnesium sulfate, you drink ¼ cup of extra virgin olive oil, which causes the easy release of potentially hundreds of gallstones.
Gallstone Prevention
This is a great preventative, since, with the acidic diet of Westerners, crystalline structures form in the liver and gallbladder, and can create a very painful situation when these sharp-edged stones are lodged in tiny ducts.
Even someone without a gallbladder benefits from this flush because the gallbladder is downstream from the liver, where the “stones” also form. Many “stones” are actually bits of very toxic, hardened bile, and most M.D.’s do not know that gallstones occur in the liver as well as the gallbladder.
Gallstones from Processed Foods
Vegetarians eating lots of vegetables, fruits, and complex carbohydrate (versus processed-food vegetarians) virtually never form stones, which is an unnatural consequence of an unnatural diet high in protein and/or high in processed foods. (Taking drug medications also leads to high risk of stones.)
Bearing this out, as an almost lifelong 98% plant-based eater, I am usually the only one at the Paracelsus Clinic Al Ronc, in Switzerland, where I take our readers every summer for a liver flush and retreat, who usually passes no stones.
Eliminating the Gallstones
The stones come out hard and green, and many detoxers both at the clinic in Switzerland and those doing the home-version 26-Day GreenSmoothieGirl Detox, eliminate hundreds of them in a day.
Taking this Detox Drink in Clinics
Some of the 19 clinics I studied at, worldwide, use this olive oil protocol, and many liver-cleanse books and clinics give the patient ½ cup of olive oil, or even 1 cup.
We have found, though, in supporting thousands of people through this process, after completing the colon and liver portions of the program, that approximately 1 or 2 in every 10 people will vomit at some point, during the night, taking this much oil (1/2 cup to 1 cup).
And 2 or 3 of them will feel weak and lightheaded; occasionally one passes out.
Virtually no one does, when drinking only ¼ cup of oil (chased by ¼ cup of fresh grapefruit or lemon juice).
Why do these Side Effects Happen?
My theory is that this is due to the far higher levels of toxicity in most people, in the modern industrial age, compared to when this protocol was first administered by physicians several decades ago.
More practitioners are now recommending doing the gallbladder flush once a month, if you’re using only ¼ cup of oil, and/or if you eliminated many stones—doing it monthly until you see no more stones.
Cut Back on Processed Foods and Animal Products
I also think it’s wise to avoid crystal formations in the future, after you flush all the crystalline structures out, by drinking a quart of green smoothie, every day, for life—and cutting back on all processed food and animal products.
Long-Term Detoxing Practice
The olive oil gallbladder and liver flush is a powerful, and time-tested practice, but I believe it is best done after two or more weeks eating entirely plant-based, organic, alkaline meals first.
A water enema (done at home), or even better, professional hydrotherapy done in a clinic, is highly beneficial the day of the flush, and again, within a few days after the flush.
Back-To-Back Flushes
If you do them at home, consider doing two back-to-back flushes, since with the home method, you cannot get as much water up into the transverse colon. This process helps speed the elimination process, avoiding recirculating toxins in liver bile throughout the bloodstream.
What Is The Best Detox Protocol?
In my formal research, I studied the work of Max Gerson, MD, who helped thousands of patients heal from cancer without chemotherapy. I read Bernard Jensen, DC’s books on digestive tract health, and saw hundreds of photos of rubbery “catarrhal mucoid plaque” eliminated from the colons of people who followed his protocol.
I dug into the powerful legacy of Ann Wigmore, MD, who treated her own metastatic colon cancer with wheatgrass juice, lots of sprouts, and a raw, alkaline diet—and then helped thousands of others do the same for 30 years.
I studied Richard Anderson, ND’s work, as he trudged through forests for years, studying herbs and their effect on the body, and developed the first major, 21-day detox I did in my 20’s, that changed my life.
Try the Detox Drinks that Work
I believe drinking alkalizing fluids, and taking a rest from digestion, for a couple of days, even monthly, using one of the better detoxifying drinks protocols in this article, can be helpful.
But I believe a deeper cleanse is needed for most of us since we live in a time of unprecedented chemical exposure. I’ve made a free video masterclass, for you, the “Cliff’s Notes” of my lifelong research, and leveraging the findings of each of those detoxification researchers.
Join the Video Masterclass
Join me in the video masterclass, and you’ll learn, in a much easier way than I did, what the most important protocols are, in a serious bi-annual reboot of your colon, liver, kidneys, gallbladder, and even your blood.

Can You Have Fun While Studying for Exams?
Of course you may have a laugh studying and study even as you're doing it. Studying assignments or making ready for exams need no longer be the frightful, laborious enjoy many college students have come to dread. Below are some pointers shared with me by using students who've mastered the art of analyzing to the factor in which they're truly getting lots higher grades and having amusing while doing it. Studying must no longer be an oppressive drag on your time. One key is for you to no longer take the task so significantly that you near yourself off from the real world.
Your Environment
Control your environment. The place in which you observe performs a outstanding part within the outcome. By exercising manipulate over your examine surroundings, you're, in impact, adding a diploma of comfort to the assignment to hand. Cramming yourself into some tiny area full of stale air might not appear distracting to you-but it genuinely is! To characteristic generally the brain needs a regular blood glide and the extra oxygen inside the blood, the better capable you're to gain from healthy brain feature. Let's first recall temperature:
• Keep the room temperature at a little lower than regular putting. Being a chunk at the cool aspect stimulates blood drift at some point of the frame. You recognize how invigorated you feel on a brisk, cold autumn day. In summer time, set the air conditioning decrease than you typically could. In iciness, set the warmth at around 60-65 levels F. Crack open a window to get a few fresh air or even don't forget using a fan to draw in extra clean air.
• Peace and serenity are vital to top attention, however that is no longer to say "Silence is Golden." A little heritage tune is useful but keep away from vocals. No rap, hip-hop or heavy metallic choices. And maintain it within the historical past and no longer window-shattering quantity.
• Natural daylight is the fine, maximum healthful illumination so positioned up the shades or crank up the venetian blinds. If it's after darkish, use incandescent mild and masses of it. I agree with fluorescent mild is unhealthy at high-quality, so humor me and avoid it.
• Regardless of the gap you operate, it should be furnished primarily based upon your very own flavor. You are looking to keep away from distraction so whether or not you are in the corner of a room or out in the center of it, surround your self with what's acquainted to you.
Get Comfortable
I may not advocate you examine will sitting on a timber bench, immediately-back chair or a few other uncomfortable piece of furnishings. You aren't in a monastery or nunnery doing penance. Be secure. My favorite preference is my recliner. I have tables on each facets and a desk lamp for mild. Decide what add-ons like pencils, pens, textbooks and notebooks you can want close by earlier than beginning to take a look at.
Wear comfy garments. PJs and a bathrobe are suitable if this makes you sense greater secure. Avoid whatever tight-becoming. Remember-blood float throughout your body is needed.
Also recollect a voice recording tool reachable. More on that later.
Snacking is OK Too!
Keeping some snacks and a cool drink nearby is a good practice, however pick out something wholesome like nuts, raw vegetables or trail blend. Avoid caffeine-loaded drinks considering that they will stimulate you bodily however don't have any real advantage to increasing intellectual retention. My desire is sugar-free lemonade. It's pleasant and will not increase any amount of hyper-hobby. I am keen on sucralose as a sweetener. I individually agree with that aspartame become an evil funny story performed on us by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Time Management
Studying need to not grow to be a never-ending process. Limiting the duration of your take a look at durations clearly facilitates in memory retention. This may additionally take some experimentation to your element. Begin with the aid of engaging in quick take a look at periods like one hour or so. If you experience cozy with this you could push this up to 2 hours. The point right here is that once a selected have a look at length you're taking a break. Get up and circulate round, Take 15 to twenty mins, after which dive back into it. After numerous spurts like this, move for a brisk stroll, call a chum or catch up on emails.
Each time you come to your studies, spend a couple of minutes reviewing what you protected inside the preceding session. This is in which a voice recorder is available in on hand. During your actual take a look at time, use the recorder to keep quick portions of statistics-the highlights of the material blanketed. Most of what we learn is from the sight pics we get from studying textual content and viewing illustrations, but take into account that blind students have a look at too and many do especially properly at it.
Time management also must encompass freedom from interruptions, so circumstance your circle of relatives and pals to be aware about your look at instances.
Using Visual Cues
Sighted college students have a wonderful gain at the same time as studying for exams and other assignments. Sighted students can use handwritten notes and sketches as reminiscence joggers. Many college students have located the importance of using colored pencils, pens and highlighters. Goofy as it could appear, with the aid of growing your own cartoons-even the use of stick figures-can jog the memory of some complex text or formulation.
What you're Studying is Only Part of the Overall Picture
It's only herbal which you would be some distance extra interested by a carrying event or a film on TV. Granted, your subject matter won't be as humorous as the cutting-edge "Big Bang Theory" episode that you are lacking, however face it, analyzing the cloth earlier than you is growing your capabilities at dealing with existence's innumerable demands. After all you may be learning complicated concept or convoluted math or chemical formulas, however you are studying approximately how your future existence can also play out.
Lead us Not Into Temptation
Temptation is your enemy whilst you are trying to concentrate. Yes-there are myriad stuff you'd as an alternative be doing, but lifestyles will placed needs on you as you step forward into the real world of automobile and mortgage payments, utility payments and setting up a circle of relatives of your very own. The time you spend studying can be time well-spent in view that it's miles strengthening your capability to cope with all the crap life might also throw at you.
It is so smooth to yield to temptation whilst you lose interest with the problem handy. But sticking in your personal self-imposed agenda will give you an aspect over your fellow college students-and that's what getting proper grades is all about.
It would not take a variety of mind strength to be "Average." Among your desires need to be the preference to be nicely-above average. When you may see the overall benefit of consistent examine, you'll be a part of the ranks of mature, hard-operating people that appear to have all of the good fortune. You see, "Luck is the lazy man or woman's concept of success." Make your personal luck!

Get Your Tea Party Supplies Right and Set Them Well. Pinkies Up!
Tea parties developed into a popular societal occasion in the early 1800s, though there may have been signs of tea parties occurring earlier. To this day, tea parties remain an enjoyable and popular pastime. Tea is, of course, necessary for tea parties, but often small snacks are served as well. There are several types of tea parties you can have. A tea party can be of two styles. You could choose an elegant and fancy one or choose to have a tea party for children. A tea party can stand out. All it takes is little preparations and tea party supplies; some key elements like a costume and of course the tea and snacks themselves.
When contemplating casual get-together s, do you get yourself overpowered with considerations of the British nobility, scenes from Alice in Wonderland, Victorian style, blue-haired women and pinky fingers stuck open to question? Assuming this is the case, you're both good and bad. You're correct on the grounds that as the custom of "Evening" Tea has created after some time, it has turned into a rich illicit relationship. You're wrong since "High" Tea was frequently delighted in by the British average workers as their night dinner, with heartier toll than the tea sandwiches and scones that are currently connected with casual get-togethers.
As the custom has developed, lunchtime is normally planned from mid to late evening. It's a between dinner nibble that is significantly richer than a sack of chips from the candy machine. It needs not be to a great degree fastidious, despite the fact that the dinner regularly incorporates flavorful, chomp estimate sandwiches, scones or bread rolls, and desserts (alongside a decent pot of tea, obviously!) Both men and ladies appreciate evening tea in England, and it's frequently utilized as a capacity for engaging business customers.
An Afternoon Tea Party is reasonable for some festivals. When you'd get a kick out of the chance to have a get-together that isn't as included as a supper party, a casual get-together can be the appropriate response. It's a perfect arrangement for a marriage or infant shower, a retirement party, a birthday festivity, or time to make up for lost time with great companions. The sustenance is set up before your visitors arrive, and is either displayed buffet style or by passing plates of treats at the table. The main thing you have to serve is simply the tea, abandoning you a lot of time to unwind and make the most of your visitors.
Tea time Tables
In many parts of the world, break time is a regarded custom of refinement and style. When you're arranging a casual get-together - whether for a shower, graduation, birthday, or only for entertainment only - embellish your table with your best china, silver, and cloths. These add clean and effortlessness to the event, and in our "paper glass" world they help us affectionately to remember prior circumstances.
Arranging Your Tea Party - A Step by Step Guide
Select a date and convey your solicitations
Dependent upon the explanation behind your gathering your welcome can run from an exceptionally easygoing welcome to a formal welcome. Incorporate a tea pack in a more easygoing welcome for no particular reason and to set the tone for your gathering. Choose your time. Customarily, a typical tea party is held anytime in the afternoon. It is typically held around noon (11:30 AM to 12:30 PM), or afternoon (3:00 PM to 4:00 PM). Anytime is tea time really, no real times set in stone that even late at night after dinner is possible. Consider your guest’s schedules when planning a tea party.Having a party during the afternoon during the week when people are working can at times be difficult though. A weekend would be ideal if you plan to have it in the afternoon.
Invite your guests.
You can send handwritten invitations two weeks in advance. Supposing you would rather not prefer to send an invitation, one could simply call them on the phone, or send an email to your guests. The guest list is conventionally limited to around eight people. They are normally supposed to be cozy, so the tea party host can easily mingle with each of her special guests. More than eight people will of course never spoil the fun. So go on ahead and invite more people if need be. Just ensure you have enough tea and nibbles available. You can ask your guests to bring items, such as desserts or additional tea. Your list of people to attend can incorporate many individuals or just a single decent companion with whom you'd jump at the chance to share a cozy discussion. It can be an extremely formal issue as you'll discover at a portion of the more exquisite lodgings, or it can be as easygoing as a pot of tea and a few treats.
Buy tea.
Many different kinds of tea are available to be served, but ideally, you don’t have to serve more than two or three varieties. Some varieties are and are not limited to white tea, black tea, oolong tea green, tea and blended teas. Give your guests a choice; asking them what they would prefer before they arrive or you can just buy whatever you think they might like. Iced tea could be served supposing you’re having the tea party during a warm part of the year. Drinks like coffee and lemonade should be made available for those that don’t like tea. Purchase your tea and related embellishments. You'll need to have a few tea kettles so as to blend an assortment of teas for your visitors.
Prepare the food
Review formulas for lunch time sandwiches and treats. At most casual get-togethers there will be a determination of both flavorful and sweet chomps to fulfill the two sorts of hunger. In the event that your casual get-together is an in the middle of dinner, you will just need a little choice of nibbles. In the event that your casual get-together replaces a full feast, you'll need to offer a more noteworthy determination. You may look up tea sandwiches, scone, and pastry recipes online or in your favorite recipe book. You can also choose to purchase the food instead of making it yourself. One would normally go for something light, like salmon sandwiches, but you also want to serve something sweet, like cranberry scones or fruitcake. You can also serve things like teacakes and buns. Some common types of sandwiches served as tea parties are a salmon club, crab, smoked salmon and avocado, and carrot and raisin.A few classic scone flavors are lemon drizzle, walnut, and cherry. Cookies and cakes are also nice to have out after sandwiches are served.Put jams out to pair with the scones. Strawberry, rhubarb and ginger, and jumble berry are some options for jam flavors. Plan your menu. Incorporate both appetizing and sweet sustenance.
Obtain tea party supplies.
You will require a kettle, teacups, and saucers in order to serve tea to your guests. Purchase a tea strainer and use a small dish to collect used tea leaves. You can also serve a pitcher of milk, lemon slices, honey, and sugar. Make sure you have enough small plates, napkins, and utensils if you are serving food. It will also be decorative and helpful to set out tablecloths as part of your tea party supplies. White linen or lace tablecloths are traditional, but you can also purchase disposable tablecloths if you want to make it easier to clean.
Set the tea table.
Cover a big tabletop with a light linen tablecloth, or any other tablecloth of your choice. Place the tea at one end of the table and make sure to leave plenty of room for yourself. As the host, you will be serving the guests their tea. Set out the milk, lemon, honey and sugar next to the tea, and the trays for food at the other end of the table. It is normal at tea parties for the guests to serve the food themselves. •You should set out teapots and tea cups for the tea. Set forth platters and cake stands for the food. You should also have plates and cutlery available to either be picked up next to the food, or placed at the tables. Place napkins and name signs out if you want people to sit in certain places.
Prepare the tea.
Begin boiling the water and setting out the food about ten minutes before guests are scheduled to arrive. When the teapot is whistling, dispense the water into the teapot and take it to the table. You can also choose to set out a hot water dispenser next to a tray of tea bags if you want the guests to make the tea themselves. Set out coffee or any other drinks you expect your guests may like. Take this time to look every wherein the room one more time to make sure all is set. Brew and serve an appropriate pot of tea. Go with the tea determinations with cream, sugar and lemon cuts to oblige the fluctuated tastes of your visitors.
Welcome your guests.
Individually greet each of your guests. Greet them with a hugs or kisses all round if you are well acquainted and a handshake for the more formal guests. Take whatever they may have brought and place it on the table for them. At that juncture, do well to show your guests to their seats if you have set spaces, or show them where they can indicate to sit if you have not. You may not be available to greet each person as they walk in. If you can’t, greet them as soon as you’re available.
All that is left now is to relax and make the most of your visitors while pondering on the benefits of tea. Have a go at perusing the leaves for entertainment.
Whatever your purpose of facilitating your next tea gathering, appreciate a glass for me! Pinkies up please!

#DollarTree #CottBeverageBlueberryLemonade #RealSugarFlavoredLemonade #RealSugarFlavoredLemonadeReview
I tried the Cott Beverage Blueberry Lemonade and it was pretty good.
This blueberry lemonade had a light blueberry lemony taste and tasted lightly sweet. This tasted like a diet lemonade to me and watery in texture.
I would drink this again but mix other zero sugar soda's in it.
I tried this mixed with the Mountain Dew Summer Freeze Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
The mountain dew did overpower this blueberry lemonade but in return improved the lemon taste to the new mountain dew but gave it a extra light blueberry taste along with the other flavors.
I would drink this again.
I tried this mixed with Fanta Orange Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
The orange soda mixed with this tasted like a orange Tootsie pop outside coating melted but had a lemon aftertaste while completely overpowering the blueberry part.
It was a interesting taste and I would try it again.
I tried this mixed with New recipe Pepsi Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
This had more of a blueberry cola taste to me with a light lemon flavor at the end. This was lightly sweet to me and smooth tasting.
I would drink this again.
I tried this mixed with Coca Cola Zero Sugar Caffeine Free and it was pretty good.
This just soda tastes like a light blueberry lemony cola which was pretty good. This was lightly sweet tasting to me.
I would drink this again.
Got at Dollar Tree.
