KE AUPUNI UPDATE - OCTOBER 2024
Our Land, Our Inheritance One of the most profound expressions of who we are as a people is found in Queen Liliʻuokalani’s open letter that begins with, “Oh, honest Americans… ” It was her direct appeal to the American people to do what’s morally right and speak out for the return of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Although her letter makes many profound points, I will concentrate on one particular passage… “…do not covet the little vineyard of Naboth's, so far from your shores, lest the punishment of Ahab fall upon you, if not in your day, in that of your children, for "be not deceived, God is not mocked." As she often did, Queen Liliʻuokalani cited a passage from the Bible. In this instance, 1 Kings 21:1-24 that told of the deceitful way King Ahab and his evil wife Jezebel framed and executed a man, Naboth, so they could take his land which he had refused to sell to them… The reason Naboth wouldn’t sell the land was, he regarded it as his inheritance and a blessing, not a piece of commercial real estate. He had inherited the land from his forefathers and his kuleana was to make it productive (which is why Ahab wanted it) and then pass it on to his (Nabobʻs) children and descendants. By citing this story, Queen Liliʻuokalani goes to the heart of the difference in how Hawaiians, as opposed to Americans and other colonizers, regard land. Hawaiians and other native peoples see land as an inheritance that comes from Akua with the kuleana (responsibility) to mālama (care for) so that it can bless them and their future generations. To our kūpuna, just like Naboth, land is not a commodity that can be bought and sold for instant gratification or to build empires, it was to bring and sustain abundant life and future generations. When King Kamehameha III issued the Hawaiian Bill of Rights in 1839 and promulgated the Hawaiian Kingdom Constitution in 1840, instruments that are Western in form, he was careful to infuse them with Hawaiian values of kuleana, malama ʻāina, ola i ka wai, aloha ʻāina. When he redistributed the lands from traditional rights — where he as King had absolute rule over all the lands — he put the lands of Hawaiʻi (except for a little needed for the government) into the western system of private ownership, but with a caveat: that those lands would be held in perpetuity. Whether the King, chiefs or commoners held the title, these privately owned lands could not be sold outside of the family, their heirs and descendants. Furthermore, customary international law holds that in the event of a regime change, internal or conquest or annexation by a foreign power, only the government lands would forfeit to the new government. Privately owned lands would remain in the hands of the title owner. Thus, by placing the lands of the Hawaiian Archipelago into the western legal system of private land ownership, King Kamehameha III safeguarded Hawaii’s lands from being sold outside the family or being seized in the event of an invasion, an annexation (lawful or fake) or certainly, an illegal occupation. So why have we been dispossessed of our lands? Because every step of taking and pillaging of the Hawaiian Islands by the United States was done with total disregard of all laws except those the US imposed for its own benefit and purposes. Even today, Hawaiians’ lands are being stolen and Hawaiian are being evicted by corrupt judges weilding corrupt State of Hawaii laws. The hope we have is that soon the tables will turn and a day of reckoning will come, the lands restored… and the punishment of Ahab fall upon the wrong doers.

Regarding my heading down an unfinished road... I found it on Google Street View.
So these are from a year ago.
This is the lane I drove down.
And this is the section where I realized, "Oh shit, I ain't supposed to drive here."
I used generative fill to update these images to what they looked like on the day of embarrassment.
Looking back, there were a few cones. But all of the "do not enter" signs were gone and I think it would be perfectly reasonable to assume you could drive here. I think other people may have avoided it because they drive in this area regularly. I drive maybe once or twice a month.
And here is what the dead end looked like with a year of construction progress.
(It is scary how close generative fill matched this to my memory of it.)
I was really confused when I got to this point. I wasn't sure if I should try backing up or turning. I thought the gravel was okay to drive on, so I pulled forward and started a u-turn. But there was a sharp drop-off from the road to the gravel section I couldn't see and that was very jarring. And the gravel was not fit for driving on. So I kicked up a ton of dust and passers-by were all "WTF are you doing?"
Hell, I was like "WTF are you doing?"
I have a feeling this memory will join a few other embarrassing moments that pop into my head right before I try to fall asleep.
It wasn't my fault, but yeah, I hate driving around here.
It feels like the highway construction in this area is endless. It's been going on for years and it never feels like any progress is being made.
They closed off 3 highway exits for streets that contain a lot of local businesses. One of them leads straight to Ferguson. And if you don't know to exit onto a side road ahead of these areas, you'll just pass them by. So people from out of town who might be looking for a place to eat or shop could easily drive past these areas.
I feel sad for my community. Big franchises are closing up shop. There is no pizza place that directly delivers to my area. When your last pizza place closes up, that's when you know your community is in trouble.
If anyone around here wants pizza delivered you have to spend a ton to have it DoorDash'd in from another area.
And it all started with a "white flight" epidemic. They even made a documentary about it called Spanish Lake (my township). There was a failed housing project nearby and a lot of poor Black folks started moving to Spanish Lake afterward. Then some scummy real estate people took advantage and it all snowballed from there...
"The 1990s saw a mass exodus of the white population, spurred on by blockbusting, a practice some U.S. real estate agents use to encourage white property owners to sell their houses quickly at a loss, implying the African-Americans moving into their neighborhood will depress their property values."
Apparently blockbusting is the new red lining.
The "controversy" section on Wikipedia sums up the movie pretty well.
I started following a Facebook page dedicated to Spanish Lake, thinking it would be other folks in my community. I thought maybe I could get to know my neighbors.
Instead, it is all of the white people who moved away reminiscing about how great Spanish Lake used to be.
People in this group are trying really hard not to say the quiet part out loud.
Riff raff?
Scot, I think you dropped this...
I grew up here. I still live here. I love my house and my street. There are some areas that could really use some help, but if you live here, you know the few small pockets to stay away from. I have no issue walking up and down my street at night without fear.
They also mourn the loss of the businesses that closed because they abandoned the area.
There is the mall which will be officially demolished soon.
And, yes, it is the spooky mall from that viral video.
youtube
There was the movie theater... at the mall.
There was the Aloha Roller Rink.
Which now looks like this.
And the burger joint.
The pizza place.
And the other pizza place.
Saullo's was okay.
Angelo's in the next town over is better. And still in business!
What was I talking about?
Oh, yeah. Don't drive down unfinished roads!

Aloha! Did you fire Al yet? Please 5150 him too- we can't be too safe with our moms. That was gross how he smeared Kitty too. She said he has a crush on her! These are affections we don't need. I'm there for showers. Al constantly gossips about Patrons & pigs - it's grossly unprofessional.
Dmv.org is backed up with their officers crime. We are pressing charges against Officer Enoch & Triple A Daniel Crabtree if you could speed up process? Judge, Sheriff & attys know. Call America 1st Legal & ask them to 5150 my x so I can go home please & stop bullying civilian moms with these underpaid camp hosts!
I don't need Al to make mistakes on our cases with bribes & rapes! Jai says Rangers dont handle family matters & unfortunately were stuck with millions of government abusing our kids & families like this.
Do you know how a mom with skin infection feels constantly bullied out of daily grooming? Not cool- horrible karma. Fire him. Thanks!
Peace!

Lydia- Have you tried giving Al Ivermectin? Many peeps need equine therapy for their kinks. He's all bugged up. His anxiety is through roof. No one can handle being around him. I let community know he's confused about job description making our county park inhospitable for members. I can't believe no one has apologized to me yet. Well, please call America First Legal & send us all accident reports. Elon Musk actually cares that I'm not targeted like this and referred his attys. He'll get refunds if county is too bankrupt from these low agendas. I'll warn moms they'll be raped over registration & cars stolen by AL & his "thuggie" gay pigs? Do they bang pigs in shower? And do drugs? Gross. Meth labs aren't even legal to sell as real estate. How could our own staff polute our parks like this? He wouldn't be gay if he weren't looped up in 1st place. It's literally a disability. Go cleanse. If he's too perverted to do his job ethically- obviously his man boobs are over run with bugs and a negative influence around pure families!
Thanks!

Lydia- What is your email? I'll send you emails to judge about registration. I have Grace for a few months whilst they settle my court stuff. None of Al's business. I have PTSD from his rapist colleagues & We can't risk Al getting more moms raped by gay pigs. BTW, Did he see me on floor in bathroom naked with head cracked open? How did he know Kitty was having sex? Does he record Gals in bathrooms??? He said he made deal to call pigs if that ever happens again. Campers are not to be trafficked for their gay kinks.
We need Deanna back! ):
No wonder Jyoti doesnt feel safe to go there!
Thanks!
Nitya
Ranger Lydia & Jai-
Aloha! I did get a ticket on registration on way to dmv.org & pig Garfin gave me until Febuary to sort it with Judge. Many Are being fired on gross misconduct. Dmv.org says they don't work with pigs etc. Irs forgot to send registration stickers after raiding homes & stealing cars. We have PTSD & disabilities f/ dyke rapes. I'll let my Dr's & attys know what's going on & camp bros/moms.
Obviously we need to take daily showers without being terrorised over urgent care covid charges!
Can you guaranty moms some Autonomy from vanity bullies?
Gross Al throws his weight around like this. He seems suspect because he also bullied with threats of his new Ranger Danger buddy on 11/8- day of accident too.
Do you think he's involved in foul play? This needs to stop. Open a new shower with no meth or drug paraphernalia residue & fire ALL pigs involved. Enough of their abuse. Merci.
Thanks!

im white so my view is obviously limited hence im not directly adding onto the post but regarding the same era of movies lrb was discussing aloha scooby doo having the villain be the native hawaiian boy and pulling a motive out of their ass to justify that feels particularly shitty because by doing so suddenly the real estate planning and tourism industry which they literally in the movie had characters talk about the detriments of on the native population + their culture (genuine real life issues) are just……forgotten about??? completely fine??? it had a weird angle from the start with the framing of the lamentations of the native people being (literally justifiably) wary of tourists + mainland settlers, framing them as almost unreasonable. its unfortunately on brand with this era of dtvs but it feels so unbelievably tone deaf
#i rewatched this one recently for my content warning guide so its just fresh in my mind#+ i havent seen much discussion on it#★: sd

People of Maui need 'cash' and 'communication': Lahaina resident
(NewsNation) — Federal agencies are working to provide the people of Maui with essential supplies after devastating wildfires tore through the island, but one resident says the need for essentials has been met, and what impacted communities need now is cash and better communication.
“It’s been met through the outpouring of love and support, and it’s coming in from all over the world. So what they really need now is cash or money in their pockets, to feel some sort of control,” said Carol Ross.
She added, “They also need communication. They need to know what is out there for them, for their help. They need to know about the various organizations in the federal government that are helping,” said Carol Ross.
Native Hawaiians turn to ‘coconut wireless’ in aftermath of wildfires
Ross joined “NewsNation Prime” to share her story after her home was destroyed in the wildfires.
“It was a place of refuge for us. But what really hurts the most is the people of Maui are suffering. They are suffering for the devastation that is happening in Lahaina, especially with families that they can’t get a hold of,” Ross said
As the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) helps impacted families apply for assistance, posts are circulating on social media warning Maui residents not to sign anything from FEMA, claiming the organization could seize their land.
FEMA has said these claims are false and that they don’t have to authority to seize land.
“They [Maui residents] will listen to anything. They’re just grasping, you know, whatever communication is coming out, but it is not true,” Ross said. “FEMA is there to help, and they’re not going to take away your land. They’re not there to take your land. They are there to help you.”
Developers trying to buy Hawaiian real estate amid fire recovery
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are set to visit Maui on Monday, Aug. 21, to meet with survivors, first responders and the federal agencies helping relief efforts. Ross tells NewsNation that while Biden’s emergency declaration helped, she wants to know Hawaii is supported.
“I just want his presence to be known, that he is there for and he’s backing our state, our island,” Ross said.
As the communities in West Maui, primarily Lahaina, work to rebuild, Ross says the rest of the island is open for tourism.
“Lahaina is not open, but Maui is open, and we need you to come back and experience the aloha spirit with us. Because we need the hotels to be full, we need the businesses to thrive..."

Gabriel Iglesias Net Worth: The Fortune Behind the Fluffy Stand-Up Star!
Gabriel Iglesias, famously known as "Fluffy," has become a comedy icon, entertaining audiences worldwide with his humor and charm. With his stand-up specials and sold-out shows, Iglesias has crafted a brand that resonates with millions. Fans are often curious about Gabriel Iglesias net worth and how he built his financial empire through comedy. Known for his self-deprecating humor and relatable personality, Iglesias has turned his talent into serious wealth. From performing in packed arenas to expanding his reach on digital platforms, "Fluffy" has cemented his status not only as a beloved entertainer but also as a savvy businessman.
The Rise of Fluffy: A Brief Background
Gabriel Iglesias didn’t become an overnight sensation. His journey to the top was paved with dedication, hard work, and a serious amount of humor. Born on July 15, 1976, in San Diego, California, Gabriel was raised by his single mother alongside his five siblings. The young Iglesias was always funny, but his path to comedy was anything but easy. From growing up in a low-income neighborhood to battling financial hardships early in his career, his story is one of resilience and grit.
But where does the wealth come into play? Let’s take a closer look!
The Comedy Goldmine: Stand-Up Specials and Tours
Gabriel Iglesias’ net worth didn’t skyrocket until he started selling out comedy shows across the nation. Known for his unique storytelling style, hilarious sound effects, and playful personality, Iglesias quickly became a fan favorite.
Stand-Up Specials: He’s got a series of wildly successful stand-up specials like Hot & Fluffy, I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy, and Aloha Fluffy. These specials have raked in millions through ticket sales, distribution rights, and streaming deals.
Tours: With tours named things like “Beyond the Fluffy” and “One Show Fits All,” Iglesias continues to sell out arenas and theaters globally. Comedy tours make up a significant chunk of his income, each tour netting him millions.
From a regular stage comic to a world-renowned performer, the journey wasn’t quick—but the rewards have been substantial. And that leads us to wonder: How much is Gabriel Iglesias really worth?
Breaking Down Gabriel Iglesias' Net Worth
Where Does the Money Come From?
The bulk of Gabriel Iglesias’ net worth, estimated at around $40 million, comes from multiple income sources. Here’s a breakdown of his top earnings:
Comedy Shows and Tours: As we mentioned, these are the bread and butter of his wealth.
Television Specials and Streaming: With stand-up comedy finding a home on platforms like Netflix, Iglesias’ reach (and revenue) has expanded significantly.
Merchandise: From T-shirts to bobbleheads, Iglesias capitalized on his “Fluffy” brand, creating an entire merchandise line. Fans flock to his online store, and the merchandise sales rake in millions each year.
Voice Acting: Gabriel’s voice talents have brought him lucrative opportunities in animation, such as roles in Coco, The Nut Job, and Planes.
Film Appearances: Though mostly known for his comedy, Iglesias has taken on roles in movies like Magic Mike and A Haunted House 2. Each appearance boosts his brand and his bank account.
Fluffy’s Ventures Beyond Comedy
The Rise of “Fluffy Inc.”
Aside from performing, Iglesias has ventured into production and digital content, further solidifying his status as an industry mogul. Under his own production company, Iglesias has developed and produced his comedy specials, allowing him more creative control—and, of course, more profits.
Real Estate Investments
In recent years, Gabriel Iglesias invested part of his wealth in real estate. His current residence, a sprawling $2.6 million house in California, is evidence of his real estate interest. Plus, he’s got a garage filled with some pretty impressive cars (a custom VW Bus is one of his prized possessions). These assets all contribute to Gabriel Iglesias’ net worth, making him one of the wealthier comics in the industry.
The Role of Social Media and Digital Content
Social media has been crucial to Iglesias’ brand growth. With millions of followers across platforms, he has successfully leveraged his online presence to reach a global audience. By sharing snippets of his stand-up, behind-the-scenes content, and personal moments, Iglesias has cultivated a loyal fanbase that follows him both on and offline.
Revenue from Social Media:
Ad Revenue: Thanks to his popularity, Iglesias earns from ads on platforms like YouTube.
Sponsored Content: With millions of followers, companies see Iglesias as an ideal influencer.
In a way, his online presence doesn’t just keep fans laughing; it adds to his wealth as well.
What’s the Future for Gabriel Iglesias?

Gabriel Iglesias isn’t slowing down anytime soon. He’s continually exploring new ventures, both within comedy and beyond. From new stand-up specials to potential film roles, the man’s calendar is packed. And with the demand for live shows back on the rise, his wealth is likely to keep growing.
Could Gabriel Iglesias’ net worth hit $50 million in the next few years? It’s possible! His story isn’t just about financial success—it’s about a journey that inspires countless aspiring comedians worldwide.
Conclusion: What Sets Gabriel Iglesias Apart
So, what makes gabriel iglesias net worth so unique in the world of comedy? Unlike many comics, Iglesias stays true to his roots, bringing humor without venturing into divisive or overly edgy topics. KE AUPUNI UPDATE - FEBRUARY 2024
Pacific Way and the Future One of the regular features on our program, Free Hawaiʻi News on ʻŌlelo TV is a discussion between Kumu Hina Wong and me, called “the Pacific Way”. It’s about looking at topics of concern from a Pacific islander perspective and it’s influence on how we do things and how we live. In contrast is the “Western Way” which has come to dominate the economic, political and social systems around the world. Some call it the legacy of colonialism. A recent United Nations resolution calls it, the negative legacy of colonialism. But now, the colonial system is beginning to implode. Careless, reckless and relentless commercial pursuits of the Western Way has brought the world to the brink of a catastrophic collapse. This is where the Pacific Way comes in. There is a rising awareness that the profound value of ancient knowledge and traditional practices could provide the answers to the grave issues facing the world today. What if we were to apply the “Pacific Way”, or more specifically, “the Hawaiʻi Way”, to issues such as caring for the people (mālama i ka poʻe); for our land (mālama I ka ʻāina), and caring for our ocean (mālama i ke kai); and caring for the planet (mālama honua). It prioritizes food resources, housing, sustainability, relationships, caring for our earth, sky and sea. Pacific islanders have a way of relating to our surroundings that has sustained, nurtured and helped us to thrive on tiny specs of land scattered over a vast ocean covering a third of the globe. For many years the people of Hawaiʻi have been suffering from a severe housing crisis. In the previous Ke Aupuni News we spoke of the diaspora of Hawaiians having to live not only in the U.S., but all over the globe. In a conversation I had with the Kiribati ambassador to the UN a few years ago, he said, what if our goal as leaders is not to just provide a way for people to afford to live, but to provide the conditions to make people happy, and at peace with one another? To thrive and to see life pursuits not as a series of win/lose encounters or even win/win events, but as, happy/happy opportunities. Think about it. By engaging with a “win-lose” or even a “win-win” mindset, the parties operate in a competitive and even adversarial mode. But in working for a happy-happy outcome, the parties operate in a collaborative mode of considering and caring for the welfare of the other party as well as their own. The platform becomes, sharing with aloha. Happily, the conversation in our islands is beginning to shift toward the Pacific/Hawaiʻi Way of thinking… encouraging & supporting local residents to step forward into roles of responsibility of any size, small, medium or large, to let the U.S. occupiers of Hawai`i, especially the real estate developers and government agencies, know that, going forward, decisions must be made from the ground up, and local residents in their local areas must be the ones to decide their own futures.

How can I make money starting with $1,000?
You’ve done it. You’ve built up a little cushion in your bank account — $1,000! It feels good, right? Those days of checking your a Yankees Hawaiian Shirt in a panic are behind you.
Congrats! You’re on the right path. Now it’s time to think about some longer-term goals. What do you want to accomplish next with your money? Do you need to save more? Do you want to buy a home someday? Invest?
What’s the next step to take? What are some specific things you can do to elevate your finances?
We’ve got some ideas for you:
1. You Can Become a Real Estate Investor for as Little as $10
Take a look at some of the world’s wealthiest people. What do they have in common? Many invest in large private real estate deals. And here’s the thing: There’s no reason you can’t, too — for as little as $10.
An investment called the Fundrise Flagship Fund lets you get started in the world of real estate by giving you access to a New York Yankees Best Tropical Hawaiian Shirt, diversified portfolio of private real estate. The best part? You don’t have to be the landlord. The Flagship Fund does all the heavy lifting.
With an initial investment as low as $10, your money will be invested in the Fund, which already owns more than $1 billion worth of real estate around the country, from apartment complexes to the thriving housing rental market to larger last-mile e-commerce logistics centers.
Want to invest more? Many investors choose to invest $1,000 or more. This is a Fund that can fit any type of investor’s needs. Once invested, you can track your performance from your phone and watch as properties are acquired, improved, and operated. As properties generate cash flow, you could earn money through quarterly dividend payments. And over time, you could earn money off the potential appreciation of the properties.
So if you want to get started in the world of real-estate investing, it takes just a few minutes to sign up and create an account with the Fundrise Flagship Fund.
2. Earn as Much as $1K/Month Doing Simple Online Tasks
Is there such a thing as easy MLB New York Yankees New Design Hawaiian Shirt, Gift For Yankees Fan? If you know your way around the web, there certainly is.
That’s because data is currency these days, and many companies are willing to pay cash for it — up to $1,000 per month.
Finding these companies can be time-consuming on your own. But a company called Freecash has compiled all sorts of quick cash tasks from about a dozen advertisers and market research companies thirsty for more data. Freecash has paid out over $13 million to users since 2019.
You can pick and choose your tasks and complete them at your convenience. The coins you earn from each completed task can be converted into things like Visa gift cards, Amazon gift cards, cryptocurrency or cold-hard PayPal cash.
3. Stop Paying Your Credit Card Company
If you have credit card debt, you know. The anxiety, the interest rates, the fear you’re never going to escape…
You don’t need a perfect credit score to get a loan — and comparing your options won’t affect your score at all. Plus, AmOne keeps your information confidential and secure, which is probably why after 20 years in business, it still has an New York Yankees Tropical Floral Custom Name Aloha Hawaiian Shirt rating with the Better Business Bureau.
It takes less than a minute and just 10 questions to see what loans you qualify for — you don’t even need to enter your Social Security number. You do need to give AmOne a real phone number in order to qualify, but don’t worry — they won’t spam you with phone calls.
