Friday puts most of us in a good mood already so why not spread that happiness with just one (or more) random acts of kindness today? Just holding open a door, saying thank you, a smile can make someone's day brighter, helping someone across the street, taking a moment just to listen, etc. there is no shortage of the slightest act of kindness that one can do today. Mahatma Gandhi once said, "In a gentle way, you can change the world." This is a simple enough phrase, yet it is greatly overpowering. Basically, in life even the smallest act of kindness can impact someone's life in tremendous ways.

So today, I am asking for that small act of kindness. My name is Amina Hamlet, and as a 16 year old, African-American female,  the future is more likely to be withheld from us. I have always wanted to have the best out of life, regardless of the challenges...I always dreamt of continuing my education in college, running my own business, owning a home, and living a happy and financially stable life, however, hard work and determination can only go so far in my situation. Coming from a  complicated background of historic financial instability, and harsh  impracticable environment, I need a boost. My hopes for the future is burdened by the lack of support, and as a teen there isn't much I can do. I want to make the most out of life and be sure of my future.

So, today I am asking for assistance. I am asking you to help change my life in all ways. I am asking you to support me in all areas and I am asking for your small act of kindness. Help me travel home for Christmas

Hi everyone! 

I’m super embarrassed to even be asking but I’m currently a medical student on a scholarship and a spoonie (suffer from long term illness), and due to unexpected medical costs I had to use all my savings. :( I was going to use that to go home and see my family I haven’t seen in forever as travelling can be really hard on my body.  If anyone has a bit to spare I would forever appreciate it and definitely be paying it forwards next time I have a bit to spare and someone needs help!  Thank you all so much!!

Anybody else get caught up watching those animal videos on #facebook ... you know the ones, where an animal in a dire situation is shown kindness from a stranger, and the ending is very happy!
