Since we're still on the subject of Rammstein and the languages they speak, can I send you Paul who speaks Russian? Voilà 👀
Hello my dearest Paul queen 😌
You know, I also knew about this and saw some clips of Paul speaking Russian, and didn't think of it while answering the English skills-ask! It's amazing to me that Paul still is capable of speaking some Russian, even though it's been a while since his stay in this country as a child. Another talent regarding languages in this band 😊
Here he speaks some more russian:

Sonic Seducer - 2015, Interview with Till
"Rammstein is my life. My job, my family."
Sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. A truism that no one knows as well as Till Lindemann. For more than twenty years, the 52-year-old muscle man has been playing as Rammstein's frontman on records, stage and paper with the Neue Deutsche Härte-Feuer - after several postponements, the time has finally come: with his solo debut 'Skills In Pill’s announced at the beginning of the year will be released in mid-June, the most discussed album of the year!
Outside of the limelight, Till Lindemann tends to be the introverted, taciturn type who likes to avoid public appearances and feels much more comfortable in the rough wilderness night fishing than on red celebrity carpets. After one or the other time in the recent past at least raised eyebrows - on the one hand through the rather bizarre guest appearance of pop singer Heino during the last Rammstein show at Wacken Open Air 2013, on the other hand through Lindemann's songwriting work for Roland Kaiser's new album, also keep your fan base in suspense with the collaboration with Hypocrisy/Pain mastermind Peter Tägtgren: On the joint album 'Skills In Pills' Till Lindemann rolls his enigmatic lyrics in English throughout and thus causes divided reactions within the metal World.
«Writing in English is a kind of a new start,» says Till Lindemann, explaining his discovered affinity for foreign languages. « A whole new field in which I can let off steam. It has become very difficult to write German texts today because I have already said almost everything in some form. Everything has already been covered. With Lindemann I'm starting from scratch lyrically. Free choice! An unplayed place waiting to be deflowered. »
The themes dealt with by Lindemann on 'Skills In Pills' don't really differ that drastically from those in his Rammstein texts or his two previously published books: Dark passions, the curse and blessing of various pills, and of course sex in all conceivable ways or form. This time, however, not in German, but with a double dose of deep black humor. « At first I wasn't so sure if the lyrics were really good because they came together so easily. It was too easy compared to the German texts. At Rammstein, six people work in their designated areas. Everyone has their place and their fixed area that they work on. However, you still have to reconcile six different opinions. Of course, this is not always entirely without complications. Nevertheless, we of course also learned a lot from each other. »
Knowledge that Lindemann brings to his solo project today. Until recently, the Berliner focused almost exclusively on his work with the Berlin pyro-metallers, but his urge to express himself seems to become stronger and more unpredictable with each passing year.
« I think it's normal to express yourself in different ways over the years. When you're young and you start a band, you put all your energy into that band. Music, stage shows, artwork, everything. Today everything is better divided so that each of us can concentrate our energies elsewhere. I can already say that this project will be a big part of Peter's and my future together, but my priority will always remain Rammstein. Rammstein is my life. My job, my family. I spend my vacation from this family with Peter. »
Holiday fun with a difference: With loud widescreen guitars, electronic programming and dark, erotic doom prose - switching off in Lindemann style. « It was also nice to travel up to the countryside to see Peter again and again. It only takes about three hours from Berlin and you're there. I visited him 20 or 25 times; even if sometimes it was just for a day. Sometimes he called and said I needed to come in for a quick recording. Then I quickly got on the plane and was there straight away. »
The result of these spontaneous excursions can be heard in the form of the Lindemann debut 'Skills In Pills' from June 19th, 2015. The continuation of the interview with Till Lindemann and Peter Tägtgren can be found in the next issue.

The issues & beauties of German music
(70s Kraut Rock )
Here, NOT ONE SINGLE SOUL talks about Krautrock 🌿 it seems like dead & forgotten (except CAN)
which is sad about this phenomenon :/ the only ones paying attention are prog magazines and music connoisseurs
Everyone talks about the Scorpions and Rammstein (in fact it's quality). Sometimes Boney M but... it's always the same: good music is too elite for the masses.
Even the band Eloy. Prog fans love them- the most listeners come from other places of the earth but not their origin country. Often a fault of the music industry, critics as well as the radio stations which really neglected these now in modern times.
//
The rhymes & language, pronunciation
Sure, worse languages exist. But to be honest, can you relax, with the German language? There's no flow at all, nothing like Italian or, you know, English. It's a popular opinion and what speaks against it?
Depends on the way someone sings and per region there is a difference but some harshness is always there.
//
Sung in English example: Eloy (again)
Some people are totally fine with the accent (their whole discography is in English sung by Frank Bornemann!!) others have problems getting into this band. Depends on the listener.
What often happened was that the groups had a British singer...
//
Old fashioned names
For example British rock: someone asks you, you say your idol is some random Jeff or Pete or whatever their names are. What about German musician's names? They're called Dieter or Jogi or Herbert or Udo
"Who's your favourite musician?" - Jürgen xy (sorry shouldn't sound mean)
People make jokes about old fashioned names, then why blaming yourself and getting sideeyed.
This is all a matter of coolness, let's move to the music...
//
A few information
Okay don't judge (seems extremely stereotype now) the people, musicians of the 60s and 70s were the first generation after WW2. You can imagine. The children of ex- patriots. They wanted to change something. BUT!! They were BOUND in the roots of their country.
There was a scene and later with many students and discotheques. There were artists from all over the world. The music is innovative and you can hear it even clearly. You can also hear their protest, spirit and the diversity of sounds.
There is nothing you can call THE Kraut. It's practically impossible to sum the sound up. Actually it's not a genre. That one word represents all the music made in Germany
//
An example.
You hear the instruments? The bass, drums, hard guitar, organs, saxophone EVERYTHING WORKS. SO FINE MUSIC.
Listen to it, create your own opinion.
Notes
1. So many songs by this one group called Lied des Teufels? Yeah. They're not known at all. That singer sounds like imitating Ian Gillan- Everyone can TRY to copy but they do it in their own style which is not copying, it's storytelling. (Kind of)
2. THE WHOLE THING SHOULD NOT MAKE ME SEEM PASSIONATE OR SOMETHING BECAUSE I DISCOVERED KRAUT LITERALLY YESTERDAY
3. Probably it's something that gets boring really fast
//
So...
Skillful musicians w/ ability to express themselves and the problems of their country. Wether the singing style is something for you or not- there are countless of other groups.
We HAVE TO speak about these forgotten acts again & give it a chance
#PLEASE CORRECT ME#PLEASE SAY WHEN THERE R SOME GRAMMAR MISTAKES#con:#So I bought a CD of classic kraut#SOME songs are horrible. Why? The rhymes suck. They suck what else to say they suck.#(You maybe think I'm mentally insane) It's true.#Spotify#Kraut Rock#why not making a post about Polish French Arabic whatever kinds of counties UGH WHY NOT EVERY ETHNIC IN MY GENES#my irony is miserable#ignore#random mind

Day 12 — Favorite Making Of
I like making of, I like to see the way of the creation of a video, to see how technically and humanly, we build what will be one (among others) interpretation of a song. I hesitate a lot between several videos. There are elements in each of them that I like or that touch me. For example, in the Rosenrot making of, I like the moment when the guys practice whipping, but I don't like it so much when Till gets hit by the others. In the Mein Herz Brennt making of I like the interactions with the kids, it's really cute. And of course, the transformation of the guys into shaggy men. I also like the Mein Teil and Benzin making of.
I think my favourite director is Joern Heitmann. I think the guys also like working with him, they seem to have a lot of confidence in him and I think Joern understood who they were and what they wanted to convey as an image, as a message. It's probably not for nothing that the band continues to work with him today. My favourite Joern videos are, in addition to Ohne Dich which I already mentioned on day 5 of this challenge, Zick Zack, Mutter, Ich Will, Haifish and Auslander. It is the making of this last video that I chose as my answer for today.
youtube
I really like this making of. First, because it makes me laugh, makes me laugh and I give you my heart. Secondly, because it explains perfectly who Rammstein are and what message they wanted to get across in their song. And finally, because the guys are fucking DILF in this video ! I'm attaching some pictures of the photo book by Jens Koch and some gifs by me.
There are a lot of little things that make me laugh in this video : the guys' laughter at the beginning of the video ; Paul playing air guitar with an elephant horn (mammoth's horn, considering the size) :
The way Schneider falks from the boat and how Paul laughs at him ; the way Till makes the young woman laugh when he tells her she could kick his ass :
The guys' awkward little dance steps ; Paul laughing at Till's painting skills ; Flake becoming a "king. It's such a feel good video.
The Untitled Album of 2019 is surely Rammstein's most political one, with Deutschland talking about the evolution of Germany, its dark sides, its historical past, but also the hope the guys put in the future generations. Radio which denounces censorship and praises freedom of expression. Zeig Dich which denounces the Catholic Church, its abuses and its hypocrisy. And of course Ausländer. Joern explains perfectly what he wanted to show in the video, a video that without this making of was misunderstood. Rammstein plays white European settlers in Africa: they are racist. No, Rammstein is not racist and this video denounces what it shows. This is what Joern explains in the making of, the lyrics of the song are controversial, the music is joyful, so he had a lot of room to manoeuvre for his video. As Schneider says, it's an ironic song. So the video had to be too.
This video also denounces religious colonisation, which has been one of the most important in the history of mankind, in all four corners of the planet. The missionaries not only imposed their religion, but also their language, as Till shows when he disguises himself as a pastor-schoolmaster. And then there is the sexual aspect, especially the denunciation of sex tourism.
The guys are so funny in this video, and they have such a clumsy side sometimes. They dance like dads who have had a bit too much to drink at their daughter's wedding.
Especially in the final scene around the fire. I die laughing every time I watch it. And then the way they are kind and gentle with the children, Till showing a little girl the cheetah in the truck always moves me.
Well, that's all for today ! And I'm still waiting for the making of Deutschland (and the 2022 videos) !

It was an October afternoon, Jenna was more than excited; she had gotten tickets for one of the most awaited concerts of the year for her: Rammstein, one of her favorite bands, while Steve walked behind her trying to keep up with her, he never believed that she could walk even faster than him.
Steve had never had the opportunity to attend a concert. Jenna had insisted for weeks that he had to experience it. Steve couldn't say no to whatever Jenna asked of him.
“Steve, are you ready for this? “asked Jenna with a smile as they walked toward the stadium.
Steve looked at his outfit, he was sure he looked more like Brock than him, Jenna had convinced him to wear a black t-shirt and a black leather jacket
“I'm not sure I'm ready,” Steve replied with a nervous smile.
Jenna laughed, giving him a little push on the arm.
“You're going to love it, you'll see.”
Steve looked around, curiously observing the atmosphere, it was so different from anything he had ever experienced.
They entered the stadium, and Jenna quickly guided Steve to stand in front of the stage.
“This is going to be epic,” she said, raising her hand excitedly as the lights dimmed.
The stage erupted in a show of lights and fire as the band members appeared. Steve kept looking everywhere, not sure if that was normal.
Jenna watched him out of the corner of her eye, trying to decipher his reaction. After a while, Steve seemed stiff, as if he wasn't sure how to process what he was experiencing. But little by little, he began to relax and soon found himself swaying his head slightly to the rhythm of the songs.
Jenna couldn't help but smile; she knew it would take Steve a while, but eventually, he'd let himself get into the mood.
“Are you enjoying it? “Jenna shouted to him over the din of the music.
Steve nodded, Jenna laughed, leaning closer so he could hear her.
“I told you; you're loving it!”
“I'm not going to lie, it's... different, but not in a bad way,” Steve shouted back.
Steve was still curious about the spectacle, although he didn't quite understand what was going on. Jenna, for her part, was completely immersed, singing and jumping to the beat of each song.
“Come on, Rogers, move a little! “she provoked him, as she jumped up and down to the beat of the music.
Finally, the concert came to an end, Jenna, sweaty and with a huge smile on her face, looked at Steve, waiting for his final reaction.
“Well, Cap... what do you think? “she asked with a mischievous look.
“It was amazing,” he admitted, laughing as he ran a hand through his tousled hair. “I had no idea that something like that could be so...”
Steve couldn't find the words, so Jenna folded her arms, raising an eyebrow.
“You knew all along,” she said, smiling. “You loved it. I saw it in your face when the first song started.”
“Maybe you're right,” he replied.
Jenna laughed, nudging him lightly in the chest.
“You don't have to say it. I know you loved it. But I'm warning you, this is just the beginning. There are a lot more bands I want you to hear.”
“So, what's the next band? “he asked curiously.
“You'll know that when the time comes. But trust me, it will be as epic as today.”

Tropes: T.K. Xiong
Action Dad: He is the father of an infant daughter
Animal Motif: He’s commonly associated with the Frillish and Glameow lines aswell as Muk, even being described as ‘Glameow on the outside, Purugly on the inside”, Him owning a Muk is basically a metaphor for how he really is on the inside.
Asian Rudeness: He’s half-Chinese and he’s got the mouth of a sailor and a cruel personality to match, He’s described as having an unpleasant and ugly personality.
Beauty is Bad: T.K. was fortunately blessed with the natural looks of a male model, but cursed with an extremely horrid and vile personality, Even being stated by Skyla, Mistralton City’s Gym Leader:
“Underneath all his beautiful appearance…He’s an ugly and disgusting man with a horrid personality.”
Berserk Button: Disregarding his dairy allergy constantly, threatening his daughter or wife, Hugh in general, also, never bring up or insult Huazi, his eldest daughter who was tragically stillborn during the events of BW.
Bilingual Backfire: Also crossed with Language Barrier, despite being half-German, He doesn’t understand or speak German, Ghetsis actually had to tell him ‘the badass German song’ (Mein Teil by Rammstein) was actually about a cannibal.
Bishonen: He is as effeminate as Ghetsis and N appearance wise
But for Me, It was Tuesday: He has absolutely zero remorse for stealing Pokémon off trainers, Even telling Hugh that It’s Personal.
But Not Too Foreign: He’s half-German on his biological father’s side but doesn’t speak it.
Child Hater: The exceptions might be Hana and his little Meili
Defrosting Ice Queen: Despite his Jerkass nature

Jerkass: He’s definitely one, grunts even wonder why Ghetsis keeps him around.
Kick the Dog: He shows complete apathy towards Hugh’s quest to get back Hana’s Purrloin, even telling Hugh once he finds Hana’s Purrloin that he can maybe find some self respect.
Long-Haired Pretty Boy: He has long hair rivalling that of N’s.
Mr. Fanservice: He has a male model appearance with long brown hair and a slim build with a faint muscular build
One of Us: Is a fan of Berserk and Fist of the North Star
Papa Wolf: He doesn’t trust Hugh with his daughter, or Donna and Cletus with his daughter and Hana
Pet the Dog: Has no problems leaving his daughter at the Old Plasma safehouse and doesn’t object to Meili calling Zinzolin her grandfather.
Poison Is Evil: Uses a Muk on his team
Signature Mon: His Glameow and male Jellicent.
The Social Darwinist: He has social darwinist beliefs on Pokémon trainers and believes only a minority of people actually deserve Pokémon.
Tall, Dark and Handsome: He’s more pretty boy than classically handsome, but he’s much taller than Abby and Mark, being 5’8.
Teen Genius: He was highly skilled repairing electronics as a pre-teen and teenager
Ultimate Job Security: Is a security officer in Neo Team Plasma
Vegetarian Carnivore: Due to his allergy to dairy products, he is on a semi-vegan diet, he does eat a lot of meat products.

Back to the recent improvements in my German skills.
I just realized that I’m using it, not studying it. I go on tik tok and go to my fave German content creator and listen to them talk about something interesting and then I go read the German comments. The unknown words often wash over me but I can read the comments just fine. I also use the dictionary for this.
When I listen to Rammstein songs, there is still something weird happening in my brain that I don’t know how to explain. I feel like I’m at a very important place with my listening comprehension. I have studied German in schools for 4 years, I understand most of the grammar rules.
I don’t exactly remember when this happened with English. I remember listening to English music around 3 years after starting studying it in school and I could only understand random words but not the message. I think I started watching MLP (no Finnish subtitles) with 3-4 years of studying English and at that point I understood the speech and the pun jokes. I started watching GMM and listening to Earbiscuits 5 years after the English lessons started and at that point I always understood the message AND I learned the meaning of a lot of words without having a clue on how they are written. After 7 years I first read a book in English.
I have been studying English, Swedish, German and French in schools and I absolutely despise the ways languages are taught in schools. I hated and still hate textbooks. The university classes are definitely not any better than the high school classes.
So I’m going to try to emulate the path I took to learn English. I think with tik tok and Rammstein songs I’m between the music and MLP phase.

What The Hell...
Pairing: Bucky x reader
Series Word Count: 1,337
Warnings: Language! Mentions of Death, Panic Attack, Eventual Smut, Fluff, Angsty Goodness
Seriously... What the HELL?!
Since the defeat of Thanos, nothing has really been the same, especially not for Sam and Bucky.
Read Chapter 7 Here
Chapter 8: What The Hell Are You Eating?
Sam called everyone into the conference room. He took a deep breath and put on his “Captain” voice.
“So, we’ve all met Y/n here, and we all know why she came here. She’s part of the team now. She’s an Avenger just like the rest of us. All we need to do now is see what skills she has. So, Y/n, once you’re up to it, I’d like to have you train with Bucky so we know your strengths, and where you might need to improve a little. Does that sound okay?”
“Uh, Sam? Maybe me working with her... I mean... no offense... but do you think that’s the best idea?” Bucky asked, keenly aware that he sounded like a total jackass.
“Bucky,” Y/n started, “It’s okay. I appreciate what you’re trying to do, but honestly, you’re the best candidate. You’re the only other super soldier, and it would be terribly bad form for me to kick the boss’ ass on my first day.”
Clint snorted, Wanda giggled, and Bucky’s jaw dropped.
“Maybe I can help with weapons,” Clint said, still laughing, “Bucky can focus on the hand-to-hand stuff, I can work with you on weapons, Wanda can...”
“I can help you work through your feelings and relax after everything you’ve been through,” she smiled, squeezing Y/n’s shoulder.
“That would be amazing, thank you.”
“So that’s our plan,” Sam said, definitively. “We’ll work together, as a team... as a Family.”
Y/n smiled at the notion. She looked around the room at her new family.
“Awesome. Thank you all so much,” she said, “Now, can we please get some damn food? I’m freaking starving!”
-----💥🌀💥🌀💥🌀💥🌀💥🌀💥🌀-----
“Ugh!” y/n yelled, looking at Sam, “what the hell are you eating?!”
“Pineapple and olives – sweet and salty!”
“That is absofuckinlutely the most disgusting thing I have ever heard,” Y/n said, scrunching her nose and leaning away from him.
“See, I told you that’s not normal!” Bucky laughed, pointing at Sam.
“Yeah, yeah... but it’s so good! C’mon! Give it a taste!”
“I can’t - allergic to pineapple, and olives are the devil,” Y/n stated, “I’ll try anything once, but not if I know it’ll surely kill me.”
“How can you be allergic to pineapple?” Clint asked, “Aren’t you a super soldier?”
“Well, technically, no. I mean, I have the speed, strength, stealth and hearing, but I'm sure it’s more like getting a watered-down version of the serum. I highly doubt I’m as strong as Bucky is, but I still maintain that I could kick Sam’s ass without breaking a sweat.”
“Keep it up, Y/n... I’ll be watching you two fight. I’ll have my countermeasures ready.”
Bucky leaned over to grab another breadstick and whispered to her, “Pretty sure you’d still kick his ass.”
Y/n blushed, taking a bite of her lasagna to try to mask the flush of her cheeks. He was so close, and it made her heart skip a beat.
“So, y/n, tell us more about yourself. What kind of movies do you like? What kind of music do you listen to?” Wanda asked with a twinkle in her eye.
“Well, I really like stupid comedies, but I also love a good scare. I'll watch pretty much anything – sci-fi, horror, animated. As for music... that’s eclectic too. I'm definitely more of a rock chick, but I also love EDM, and the old dance hall music from the 40’s and 50’s. I love Ella Fitzgerald.”
“That you got from Steve, didn’t you?” Bucky asked.
“Definitely. He used to dance with me to ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’ all the time... it was kind of our song. And I got him to listen to some newer bands. As long as it sounded like a love song, he’d give it a decent chance. He liked U2 and Coldplay.”
“Really?” Clint asked.
Everyone was looking at Y/n now.
“Yeah! I tried getting him to listen to Rammstein once, but that was a no-go. He absolutely did not like that one bit. But Ozzy Osbourne he could deal with in small doses.”
“What was he like?” Sam blurted out, eyes widening at his own question, quickly wishing he could take it back.
“Well, he was... kind. Gentle. Encouraging. He was probably the best father and grandfather anyone could ask for. He helped me hone my skills, probably out of guilt for passing it along to me, but also because he wanted me to be able to stand up for myself and for others who couldn’t do the same. He was... amazing.
“Grandma was the one who taught me to shoot though. And she taught me how to get whatever I wanted from my dad. She wanted him wrapped around my finger... and he was,” Y/n laughed, “It was her little experiment, I guess.”
“Y/n... do you... want another beer?” Bruce asked.
“Ha! No, thanks Bruce. I’m good. Actually, I think I'm going to head to bed. I'm full and it’s been a long day.”
“Do you remember the way?” Bucky asked, helping Y/n to her feet.
“Um, maybe?”
Bucky smiled, “I’ll walk you back... I'm getting tired too.”
“Thanks. Goodnight, everyone! Gotta get some rest so I can show off my super skills tomorrow.”
Bucky gently laid a hand on the small of her back, guiding her toward the hallway. Quickly realizing what an intimate gesture that was, he moved his hand down to his side so he wouldn’t make Y/n feel uncomfortable.
A few turns down a few hallways later, and they were standing in front of Y/n’s door. She turned toward Bucky with a sleepy grin.
“Thanks for walking me back. I had a lot of fun tonight. I feel a little more at home here.”
“I’m glad, Y/n. Please, let me know if you need anything. I’m just a room away. And, I’ll pick you up in the morning so we can go to the training room together,” Bucky said with a smile, “8 am, since it’s your first day.”
“Awesome! But if I wake up earlier, I’ll find you, okay?”
“Sounds like a plan. Good night, Y/n.”
“Good night, Bucky.”
-----💥🌀💥🌀💥🌀💥🌀💥🌀💥🌀-----
Bucky’s eyes snapped open. That’s when he heard the muffled screams coming from beyond the wall.
Bolting upright and ripping the blankets off of him, he ran into the hall and burst into Y/n’s room. Seeing her writhing on the bed, screaming Jimmy’s name had him shaken, but he quickly grabbed Y/n and pulled her into his bare chest, gripping her tightly with his left arm and stroking her hair with his right hand.
“Shh, Y/n... it’s okay. It’s Bucky... I’ve got you, sweetheart. Shh... it’s okay.”
“Bucky?” she whimpered.
“Yeah, doll, it’s me. It’s okay, you’re safe.”
Y/n was sobbing into his chest, “Oh, God... Bucky... I... can’t...”
Bucky, cupping her cheeks and wiping her tears with his thumbs, stares deeply into her eyes, “Hey... hey... just breathe. In through your nose... out through your mouth. Just look at me and breathe... like this.”
Bucky demonstrated, breathing in through his nose, and slowly out through his lips. Y/n follows suit. They breathe together for a few minutes until Y/n stops shaking.
“See? There ya go... feeling better?”
Y/n sighs and closes her eyes, “Yes. Thank you.”
Bucky pulls her in for a soft hug.
“I’m so sorry I woke you, Bucky.”
“Don’t worry about that. Don’t ever worry about that, Y/n,” Bucky pulls away to look into her eyes, “Do you need anything? Water?”
“No, I'm okay. But... um... can you... would...” having a hard time saying what she wants to say, runs her fingers through her hair.
“Anything you need, Y/n... just tell me.”
“Would you... stay? Hold me? Just until I fall...”
“Of course. I will stay. I will hold you,” Bucky smiles, gently stroking her cheek.
Y/n slides over, pulling the covers back for Bucky as he lies down next to her, his strong arms pulling her in as his little spoon. He closed his eyes and breathes in her orchid scented hair.
“Bucky?”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you.”

Till also speaks a little bit of French, not fluent but he understands it quite well!
Hello 👋🏻
Thank you for letting me know, I didn't think of it but you're right! I knew that he speaks Russian, English, Spanish, some Polish apparently, yet I completely forgot about his french skills.
Like I said in the English skills-ask, Till is, at least for me, the language genius in the band. It's incredible for me how talented he is in everything regarding languages and the usage of words to express himself in poetry and lyrics. 🤍
Here's a little clip of ZAZ (a french singer) and Till about their collaboration 🎶

Sonic Seducer - July 2015, interview with Till and Peter
Youth-threatening Teutonic Roc bogeyman for some, almost cult-like revered New German Hardship light figure for others: In the development of German-language music, no one has polarized the masses to an even remotely comparable extent as Rammstein singer Till Lindemann and his troupe. After firing on all cylinders at the boundaries of good taste with his infamous cult formation over the last two decades and, at the same time, mastering the rise to become the most successful local rock act, the notorious industrial metal oddball is now also catching up with his English-language solo project 'Skills In Pills' dirty grin for the next general attack on morals and customs.
He almost took part in the Olympic Games as a competitive swimmer in the early 1980s; After his apprenticeship as a basket maker, Till Lindemann has been one of the most controversial singers and lyricists in the German-speaking music landscape since the end of the 90s at the latest. Someone for whom nothing and no one is obviously sacred: a devious pyromaniac who sets himself on fire on stage while he loves to talk about taboo topics that grab headlines such as necrophilia, cannibalism, drug abuse or sex in all love and life situations. Hot iron in the truest sense, some of which can also be found on Lindemann's solo debut: On 'Skills In Pills' the Berliner has teamed up with his long-time friend and Hypocrisy/Pain mastermind Peter Tägtgren, who combines Lindemann's darkly erotic adult fairy tale with the corresponding atmospheric, hard industrial -Metal substructure supports. Till Lindemann and Peter Tägtgren in a not always entirely serious conversation about pill madness, bizarre fetishes and failed family planning.
The lyrics on 'Skills In Pills' are quite controversial and will definitely make headlines here and there. Will the record also be released in English-speaking countries and available there in a clean version?
Till: The record will be released worldwide. I don't know yet if some songs might need to be toned down. Maybe we need to change the word cunt to aunt. With Rammstein it's almost a kind of tradition that people are always indignant. I'm already used to it. This time it will certainly not be worse than with Rammstein.
With English-language texts throughout, this time there may even be worldwide scolding! Is it at least a little intentional to piss off the audience with such offensive lyrics?
Till: No, it just happens. The lyrics arise as they arise, not out of any need to stand out or piss off anyone. Even if I wanted to express it in a different way, it always only comes out the way people know it from me (laughs). I can't do anything about it. There's always a wink somewhere in my songs. If people don't understand the humor, there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not forcing anyone to buy the record.
Is it important to you today that your humor is understood?
Till: Until about ten years ago, it wasn't important to me that I was properly understood. It was important to me what people thought and how they perceived me. Today I'm more relaxed. Not to say: I don't care at all whether people understand me correctly.
Peter: If you don't understand the humor on this album, then you have a serious problem. Everything on this record can of course be understood with a grin. In my opinion there is a really brilliant artist behind it who can juggle words very well. There are also some serious songs like ‘Home Sweet Home’ which is about cancer. But the majority of them like ‘Cowboys’ or ‘Golden Shower’ are really not serious. Funny adult stories.
Can you identify 100 percent with the lyrics?
Peter: Absolutely. I think every man can do it. Maybe not necessarily complete with the lyrics of ‘Golden Shower’; Personal preferences tend to differ. But the rest has a really good sense of humor.
And maybe the transgender song 'Ladyboy' doesn't mean you?
Peter: I hope not!
Till: You have no idea...
Do you ever wonder what's going on in Till's head?
Peter: Sometimes, but if I'm honest, I don't really want to know. I see what he's singing about. Maybe some things shouldn't be said at all.
Till: It was such an intense time. Peter knows me extremely well now.
The album sounds like a lot of fun in the studio - like a real man's record.
Peter: Oh yes, I can only confirm that. We really had a good time while working on the songs.
How did the recordings go? You both are known as passionate party makers who like to have a blast!
Till: (laughs)
Peter: It wasn't that intense. Both of us can definitely handle a beer or two and a few whiskeys on top of that. Let's put it this way: first comes work, then comes pleasure. We can both be very disciplined when it counts. We share the attitude that you shouldn't waste time unnecessarily, but rather get things done as quickly as possible and then celebrate properly.
Which of you can tolerate more?
Peter: We haven't tried that yet, but we'll find out. We tried to drown our new record label. The result was that I was the first one down.
How would you describe Till? His strengths, his weaknesses?
Peter: A guy with a million ideas. So far I have always been the driving force in my projects - this time it was a very nice feeling that someone else took the reins. I think Till is more determined and ambitious than me. I think we complement each other quite well. We didn't have to fight each other in the studio to impose a certain opinion, but we could always agree on what was best for a song.
Till: Peter compensates for my weaknesses with his strengths. We are like plus and minus. And vice versa. But it works really, really well. Peter played all the instruments. All I had to do was finish my lyrics, travel up to his studio and sing everything. I would consider my use of words to be my greatest strength. Peter and I are the so-called perfect match.
What was the most difficult part of creating this album?
Peter: Everything except the lyrics and the music! The songs basically composed themselves. Then of course there is the ugly side, which no longer has anything to do with the music and is all about business. That's always the moment when it starts to get annoying. That was a real downer. Lindemann was originally planned as a purely leisure activity, as a kind of holiday hobby or perhaps as group therapy. We couldn't have known at the beginning that everything would degenerate like this and develop into a big thing. People caught wind of it and everything got bigger and bigger from then on. We are both artists, we prefer to have nothing to do with the business side.
Were there big discussions about the pieces?
Peter: Actually everything went pretty smoothly, but there were still some tracks that were pretty hard to crack and that neither of us were really happy with for a long time.
Till: Peter is this type of real metalhead who always has a guitar in his hands and is constantly strumming something to himself. Fortunately, he had no intention of including any solos in the songs. I hate solos. Right from the start he was really thundering on the guitar - I even had to rein him in a little at times. I'm more of a gothic person: atmospheric keyboards, slow bass and everything a little more atmospheric. Pianos, strings… Peter can arrange that very well too. Nevertheless, I sometimes had to cool down his metalhead spirit a little so that a song could develop in a relaxed manner.
No disagreements regarding content at Lindemann?
Peter: Few. Of course I have a different musical background than Till. But the more songs we wrote together, the easier it became. At some point something clicked and we understood what we wanted and how we needed to go about it.
Aren't you worried that your collaboration with Till will be held against you in tight-knit metal circles?
Peter: No, absolutely not. When you start making music young, you feel like you have to fight everyone and everything to prove yourself. Today I don't have to prove anything anymore, I just do what I want. If I get the idea to record a blues album, then I record a blues album. You should only listen to what you want to do yourself and not pay attention to what others might think or expect of you.
Till, did you ever feel like you had to prove yourself with Rammstein? Rammstein appeared so confident right from the start.
Till: Every young artist feels like they have to prove themselves. You're always under a certain amount of pressure to improve from time to time. Even today. We certainly exude a certain self-confidence. But this is not God-given, but is based on many different creative processes.
You recently explained in an interview that you would have liked to hide in the early days of Rammstein and found your role as frontman rather unpleasant. Seems like you've gotten used to being the center of attention.
Till: I'm actually not that concerned with being in the spotlight or the focus. With Lindemann I'm just fulfilling this agreement, which was filled with a lot of Jägermeister, to do a joint project with Peter at some point. Originally I just wanted to record a song and put it online. Peter said he would like to write a whole album together. Then we started working on the next track and after a short time we had five pieces finished. So we thought about an EP. But then we had so much fun that we worked on more pieces. It just bubbled out of us.
In your opinion, do you communicate different things in English today in a different way than you would in Rammstein or in German?
Till: I haven't thought about that yet.
Peter: For me it's easier to express myself in English than in Swedish. Even if I'm talking to a Swede! Sometimes you just use English terms because you can express things quicker and easier than in your native language.
Would you also sing these lyrics in German?
Till: No, definitely not. My message from the start was: If I ever started a side project, it would definitely not be in German. That would be too much competition and friction with Rammstein. Rammstein is Rammstein, Lindemann is in English and I feel extremely comfortable with that. At first I wasn't so sure whether I should actually do it because my English isn't very good and you can still hear the German in me.
Peter: I said from the beginning that I found his pronunciation very appropriate. The rawer and edgier, the better. It would sound very strange if Till Lindemann sang the lyrics in perfect, slurred American instead of his rolling pronunciation. That wouldn't be Till.
Instead of English, you learned Russian at school in the old GDR - would an album in Russian also be conceivable?
Till: It would definitely be a challenge. I probably couldn't do it off the cuff, but would need to brush up on some things and need someone to help me with the lyrics. But an album in Russian is conceivable. Maybe even very soon! It would also be worth considering making a record in many different languages such as French, Spanish, Italian etc. I speak a little Spanish. We've already done Spanish songs with Rammstein.
Your first attempts at non-German were with Rammstein. Have you already tested what it would sound like?
Till: The record company back then wanted us to do “Du hast” and “Engel” in English. Why we did ‘Pussy’ and ‘Amerika’ in English is a mystery to me today.
What did you discover about your artistic abilities while working on ‘Skills In Pills’?
Till: I was very surprised that everything worked out so well. Before our project, I listened to Richard's [Kruspe, Rammstein guitarist] album. We are both from the East. Richard fled before the Berlin Wall came down. We met in Berlin sometime after the fall of the Berlin Wall, before he moved to New York. Suddenly he spoke English fluently and also started making music in English. I really admired that. Above all, I admired his courage in taking this step. And it was a big step from a boy from a small town in East Germany to suddenly making English-language music in New York City. I was proud of him and wondered if I could do the same. But it was crystal clear to me that I would sing in German for the rest of my life. Because people like it. There were many voices who asked that Rammstein never sing anything in English.
People have always wondered about your texts, how much autobiography there is in them. This also applies to the new, sometimes quite revealing to coarse lyrics like 'Ladyboy', 'Golden Shower' or 'Fat'.
Till: A lot. I don't have anything more to say about it. I don't want to explain the lyrics too much.
Is writing a form of self-therapy for you?
Till: It's definitely a good thing. Sometimes it feels good to talk about certain things. Not always, but in certain situations. When someone very close to you dies, it can be very liberating to write about it. When you wrap it up in music as beautiful as Peter's, of course it's all the more beautiful.
What are the lyrics to the title track of ‘Skills In Pills’?
Peter: Of course it's about this society in which people pop a different pill for every occasion: one to sleep, one to stay awake, one for a headache, one to last longer. Pills, pills and more pills. At the same time, you condemn drugs, but you don't count all these pills, while they are almost as addictive and just as harmful. Of course, a headache pill isn't comparable to coke, heroin or marijuana, but at the end of the day they're just drugs.
What is your favorite pill?
Till: The blue one (laughs).
You've already caused a stir with your first outtake 'Praise Abort' - a single about the 'blessings of abortion'. You obviously like making enemies!
Peter: Definitely our families. But seriously: all people who feel offended by this text should get in line! But that's just the way it is: Some people don't really think about it before they start a family. You may have never heard of condoms or other forms of contraception, bang all day and end up sitting with a whole bunch of kids. Then the woman cheats and everything goes down the drain. You're kind of digging your own grave.
Till: Some people are really irresponsible with their children. They want children, but don't know how to raise them, how to teach them things and prepare them for life. And in the end there are only freaks running around outside, as you can often see.

Rammstein 2004 MTV masters - part 1 - translation
Don't know if someone already translated this (probably, but can't find it) and because i'm trying to keep my german language skills up (as to not forget them 😊) i did a translation of this part of the interview. There are 10 parts in all, if a translation hasn't turned up by then (and maybe some of you like to read the translation) i might do the others as well 😉 so here goes (in italic i added a few small additions when it was useful to understand the meaning)
youtube
Voiceover (VO): No german name has been as popular in music worldwide through polarization, darkness, bizarre romanticism and the accusation of german chauvinism like...Richard Wagner. But 100 years later there is another name, carried by 6 men: Rammstein. Rammstein are evil personified. From their beginnings in 1994 until today, this band has divided nations into admirers and haters.
Paul (P): ..as well as Till sings, grunts I mean..
VO: No German who doesn't know them. There is hardly a continent in the world that they haven't toured yet. Their path leads through taboo breaks and pyromania, horror poetry and sex spectacle.
P: Some see us as beautiful others as ugly, some see us as funny, others as evil
VO: Stomping rhythms and uncompromising hardness are their trademarks
P: There are people who say why don't you make nicer music, and then I always say we are doing it as nicely as we can
VO: ..everything about their humor, their romance..
Till (T): We couldn't say something about..like..like..love in a positive sense.. (with a slight shrug as if he finds the idea distasteful)
VO: ..their crisis..
Richard (R): That was a situation in a band where you .. where it was really on the brink, you continue or you stop.
VO: ..and their secret passions, the musical changes and about being German, now at MTV Masters - Rammstein. Until now, the rule in the rock business was: men love women and women love rock stars. With regard to gruesome dark rockers, however, the number of groupies seems to be moderate.
P: In the past I said: we make music for women. Whenever we liked one, a woman, in the audience, we thought we'd attract a couple more, but we didn't really succeed. Well I was once at Lenny Kravitz (concert), oh so many women, then I thought what are we doing wrong. The harder the music, the more men there are wearing sneakers
VO: But maybe that is exactly what is needed on what is by far the most competitive music market in the world, the USA; where a winking pop giant like Robbie Williams remains unsuccessful, Rammstein celebrates great success and goes on major tours.
R: Rammstein, for example, are of the opinion that the success in America has contributed significantly to the fact that we have also achieved success in Europe. And in America it probably wouldn't have been possible. America seems very extreme, when we were on the european market and I believe that everyone who makes music, always has the dream to be successful in america as well.
VO: When the band was founded in Berlin in 1994, however, it is pure fun that tempted the 6 Berliners and Schweriner to start a music project
P: We just wanted to make heavy, deep, machine, monotonous, dull music, all of us wanted that, independently of each other, then we found eachother that way.
VO: Today's Rammstein guitarist Richard Kruspe met today's singer and lyricist Till Lindemann, who at the time was a different kind of craftsman.
P: ..he was a basket weaver and always sang when he was weaving baskets. Richard always listened at the door and thought, hm, doesn't sound too bad, I'll try something with him. Then he came up with the glorious idea to use Till as a singer

Comfort artists tag
@crystal-child94 tagged me to post a list including 10 of my comfort artists, (‘’basically anyone who you can listen to any time of the day or week and not get tired.’’). Thanks dear !
In no particular ordrer. But first of all, let’s spice things up, shall we ? I solemnly swear I won’t talk about the following : The Devil’s Blood, Dissection or Watain (apart from here because a post on this blog about “comfort artists” without these three bands names written somewhere would obviously be a false document, written by a bad copycat.)
Let’s start with The Gazette, because they just realeased a new single and they seem to be back to their old-school sound, and Uruha’s solo was the highlight of my day, sorry not sorry, I am going to be 16 years old again and really unsufferable with that. I am so happy.
Versailles, also discovered during my teenage years. It’s the first band I saw live on my own (with my best friend from Belgium but like, unsupervised) so it always brings back bitterweet memories, vibes of pure joy, pleasure and nostalgia entertwined. I could also quote Screw, but Versailles, Hizaki,The Gazette stayed in my playlists until today, with DIR EN GREY and finally X Japan that I rediscovered more recently.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, discovered during the same period of time thanks to my mother who gave me her copy of the Greatest Hits. Don’t talk to me about “old fashioned rock for dads” because Clarence Clemons’ saxophone is eternal. I won’t take any counter-arguments.
Windir.
Ensiferum because with everything they did until Unsung Heroes, especially pieces like Victory Songs and From Afar, they used to embody the perfect spirit of folk metal as I like it.
Whenever I need a little (or a huge) travel in time and space, Wardruna is an obvious choice. I will never forget the time I saw them perform at the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany. It was one of these perfect “out of time” moments.
Another band I can always listen to : Nightwish, every era, every singer, almost every album (starting to get more into Human. :||: Nature. lately).
Dan ar Braz, a sweet evocation of one of my homelands. Obviously I can’t get tired of it.
Howard Shore for his magical musical pieces for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. And speaking of movie score : John Williams and Harry Gregson Williams, Joe Hisaishi are also particular favorites of mine.
Era holds a very special place in my heart. I had my first records of this project (Era I and The Mass) at the same time as Assassin’s Apprentice so in my mind, its closely linked to Robin Hobb’s books, and my first journey into her world. The mystical undertones/gregorian chants/imaginary language here always speak to me of Skill and Wit-bonding. And each of my re-reading of the series is accompanied by this music.
And I can’t do such a top without talking about Rammstein. It was one of the bands that got me into metal, and later, a certain Edith Piaf cover kept me from going absolutely insane some years ago so I can (nearly) forget them for a song such as Ausländer. Nearly.
Tagging @tasha-lemon @omarandjohnny @paon-de-jour @misfit-on-a-journey @my-space-and-all-within @taikatalvittu @scarsoftheshatteredsky @hatant @hootsforce @midnight-madonna @a-pyre-of-doom @coldestcaress @demonindistress if you want to 😊

French magazine MyRock interviewed the Lindemann band, in October, in Russia. Here are some extracts from this interview.
Part 3.
Interviewer: The big difference with Skills in Pills is that this new album is fully sung in German. Why ?
T.L .: Initially, German was compulsory to accompany the play Hansel und Gretel. So we started doing three songs in German on this occasion, and then it worked well, we continued in that spirit. If I had chosen at the time Skills in Pills, it was to stand out from Rammstein. As the music was quite similar, it was necessary that the voice slice. There, we composed songs so different from Rammstein that the use of English was no longer indispensable. I was able to return to German and it was very nice to write in my native language. You know, I'm very proud to have contributed to the popularity of German around the world. This summer, when we played in Paris with Rammstein, I was extremely touched by the fact that these thousands of French people know my songs by heart.
P.T .: The thing is that I do not speak German and I need to know the themes to compose the melodies. So we talk a lot about lyrics together. But the German is not fixed, maybe the next record will be in Swedish, or even in French, who knows?
T.L .: One day, I would like to write a song entirely in French.
