UK folks, I'm hosting two sessions at RakuCon this weekend!

Join me on Saturday for a writing co-focus session - bring your laptop or notebook for 45 minutes of focused writing time.

On Sunday, we have a 90 minute Creative Space - use it for more writing, or bring your knitting, crochet, sewing or sketchpad - or drop in for cosplay repairs!

Turns out crochet cosplay is a great conversation starter! Which, for an awkward blob like me is very helpful. I loved chatting with people at RakuCon, and was also pleased that plenty of people recognised Utena.

I have a few of ideas I want to try next, including Wally Darling from Welcome Home, and Aziraphale from GO (waistcoat, coat and bow tie), but I'm also open to suggestions!

I crocheted another cosplay.

I didn't take in-progress photos this time because the first week of the process was just endless rows of black yarn, which weren't very interesting.

This took about two weeks from start to finish - everything is crocheted, including the buttons, the rose and the chain-and-green-stone detail. I'm looking forward to wearing it at RakuCon this weekend!

I am ONE scene away from finishing a fic I started about five years ago, and I am currently trying to work out if I can write that scene tonight and still get in a decent night's sleep before a 9am meeting.

It's a YOI one-shot I started before I'd ever even heard of Jeweller Richard. Emil Nekola-focused, expected to finish up at close to 40k.

I would very much like to have it up on AO3 a few days before RakuCon, so folks who don't know the JR fandom can at least have some recent work to know me by.

I have been feeling incredibly disconnected from...well, everything outside my job the past few weeks. Since RakuCon nearly three weeks ago, I can't remember if I've had any real conversations with anyone other than at work. I haven't had the mental energy to do much creative for more than a few minutes. I've been places and I've read, and I've been getting good work done for my job, but that's about it.

I've booked a short holiday for later in the month, and I'm hoping that might refresh me a bit, but otherwise I'm really missing any kind of human interaction.
