Happy Holi folks!!
Holi is a festival of colors. It is celebrated as a big grand festival in northern parts of India. On this occasion, an authentic cold drink is prepared which is known as Thandai. Thandai is a flavored milk. Usually holi is celebrated during the month of March, when summer starts. To beat the heat people prefer to drink Thandai while they play colors.
There are different variations in making thandai. Few of them prefer to use cashew,badam,pista in the thandai masala, especially in Rajasthan. To make it even rich, you can add kesar(saffron) strands for garnishing. Thandai is not only a beat the heat recipe, but a rich nutritious drink.
Here, I made a quick thandai recipe for this holi using Cashew, elaichi, pepper corns, khus khus and sauf.

Ingredients :
Cashew (Kaju) : 1/2 Cup
Poppy Seeds (Khus Khus) : 1 Tsp
Cardamom (Elaichi) : 3 Pods (Separate the seeds)
Black Pepper Corn (Kaali Mirch) : 1/2 Tsp
Fennel seeds (Sauf) : 1 Tsp
Sugar : 3/4 cup
Ice Cubes : 3 to 4 (Per Glass)
Chilled Milk : 4 Glass
Rose Petals for Garnishing
Saffron (Kesar) : Optional
Instructions:
Take a small mixer grinder jar.
Add cashew,poppy seeds,cardamom,black pepper corns,fennel seeds and sugar.
Grind it into fine powder. Now the thandai masala powder is ready.
Take a glass. Add ice cubes, 2 Tsp of thandai masala, chilled milk.
Stir well.
Garnish with Rose petals.
