WDO: A Mysteriful Musical!

Brought to you by: Aphmeow2300 and a person I would have to keep anonymous because I’m not quite sure if they’re comfortable.

This project has been in the works for I think 2 weeks now. Might as well show everyone! This is a project for fun, I hope this idea will spring into a reality someday.

sorry for taking so long to answer this i uhm. imn not well versed in genres and the distinctions between them ngl and i never thought before about what music charlie would like

for one he wouldn't be a fan of like overly sad, angsty, or dark songs, alot of people find respite in them but for him it just makes him feel worse as it brings The Horrors to the forefront and the focus in his mind. this isn't a hard rule though, he can enjoy some songs under that umbrella

he'd vibe to vocaloid n vocal synths as a whole i think.........

What if I wrote prowrestling au for rain code. It's just the story of the, no fix it stuff (I think), the story just takes place within the pro wrestling industry. Instead mystery labyrinth there is mystery wrestling where yuma and the gang just suplex the amaterasu people and solve the case. Shinigami is casting the matches, Makoto owns the league. Also you're dead wrong if you think it won't have viviakou in it.

I tried to make a keyhole shape for Yuma's face cracks and inserting a key but I wanted to stay true to the album cover, maybe I can sketch it out to what I really wanted to draw

I also loveee putting the tower for Makoto too, tho ngl, I'm really bad at eye details but I'm satisfied enough. I used the flower Shinigami wears for the flower details. I was contemplating if it should be that or the glowing ones but I think Shinigami's is more symbolic

This piece I made for @tamagos-dnrn for their birthday! Turns out, in chapter 1 of RainCode, after Halara leaves you, you can find the other detectives in the Sun & Moon hotel! Desuhiko talks about wanting to play the piano for his fans and that got me thinking... Desuhiko playing the piano for Yuma! Classic music serenade! Me and Tamago-san talked about it and when I found out when their birthday was, I had to draw this for them!

Swap au character intros part 4!!!

Spoilers for specifically Raincode Chapter 0 ahead!

Let's start with Zilch! In this au his forte becomes Audial Aptitude - thanks in part to his animal ears. If you've seen my art of Zilch before, you'll probably have noticed I like drawing him with his animal ears as his actual ears and not on top of his hat. It's cuz I generally just hate the ambiguity of it. Are the animal ears real? Are they just on his hat? Why do they move? Why does he have 4 ears? So I just like making his animal ears his only set of ears. That being said, apparently they're fox ears??? I always assumed wolf??? But I digress- His uniform has been changed up to be reminiscent of an orchestra conductor cuz hahah audio. His face tattoos are meant to be those spotify code scanners - the right cheek leading to It's All So Incredibly Loud by Glass Animals and We Own The Night by Chandler Kinney on the left (cuz I think it's funny!) As for his last name change, "Allegro" in musical terms means "to be played very quickly" which I thought would suit him quite well as someone who can solve cases really fast. His personality is basically the same, the only alteration being that he carries around a notepad and pen in order to help keep track of all the hundreds of things he's constantly hearing all the time.

Next is Pucci. She's received Spectal Projection from Melami and if you thought being good at hearing made her existential then BOY HOWDY does being able to use her body as a vessel for spirits fuck her up even more! Originally I was going for a classic "fortune teller" look for her but I instead went with a cute seamstress-y sort of look instead cuz I couldn't really get what I had in mind initially to look good. She wears a tape measure like a scarf and a thimble as a necklace charm. Her eyes, while cute, have a sort of dead look in them that make others wonder if she's even alive at all. Her last name has been changed from Lavmin to Lavender because in flower language, they're representive of purity, serenity, grace and calmness - all traits she seems to exhibit until she actually starts talking and you realise she's just sort of awkward and shy. She finds it easier to talk to ghosts/spirits then living creatures and honestly probably gets along reeeaaally well with this AU's version of Vivia.

Now, you may be looking at Aphex and going "Rindude! You changed fuck all about him!" And yeah, you're right... The only major changes I made was switching out his coat, boots and like doubling his muscle mass. He's strong. He could beat you up, no questions asked and it definitely shows! His forte is now Thoughtography but he's just as angry as ever - originating from the "front lines" that canon Zange mentioned in his own backstory. For that reason, his coat is inspired by WW2 trenchcoats and while my art doesn't show it very well, everything he's wearing looks and smells like he's crawled straight out of a dumpster. Originally I was going to change his last name to Harkness as an homage to Captain Jack Harkness, a WW2 soldier inspired character from (surprise, surprise) Doctor Who but considering the fact I did that exact same thing with an oc of mine for my A levels earlier this year... I instead went with Tyler; an homage to another Doctor Who character called Rose Tyler who is also a badass blonde <3

And that's all the details I'm sharing for now! It's a little strange considering I've written the Storm Cypher fanfic about half way through its chapter 0 already so I have a lot more to say about the train gang then I did anyone else - since they've already had stuff actually written for them. Melami and Zange's swap au designs will drop like... as soon as I figure out how to draw elderly people. So soon, hopefully! But yeah, I'm cooking super good atm I just can't really share much due to the nature of writing lol. I've been loving getting asks about it though! Deadass, it makes me kick my legs and giggle to know people are crazy enough to care about this AU- >w<

A: Generally, we choose from the sound company's selection or candidates, but on rare occasions we specify the cast. For almost all roles in Rain Code, we held auditions and selected the cast.

Q: When playing the Danganronpa series and Rain Code, I feel like there is a lot of impressive music, but what kind of image did you have in mind when ordering the music? A: I just roughly present the direction and leave it up to Takada. I've liked Takada ever since he was making songs with Grasshopper, so I don't reject any of his songs. Although I might use them in a different way.

A: V3 was canceled in South Korea right before its release, and when we tried to do a parody of Jibanyan with Jibakuma, the company stopped us.

NOTE: Jibanyan is a character from Yo-Kai Watch. CERO is the organization that applies age ratings to games etc in Japan.

Q: Mr. Kodaka, do you have a policy when deciding on character names? What I think is amazing about Danganronpa is that you take impossible surnames in real life, like Fukawa and Pekoyama, and mix them with common words like river and mountain to make them less incongruous, so I'd like to know if you have any other policies when deciding on names.

A: We put a lot of importance on the sound and the appearance of the names. But we changed them a few times along the way. We can't know the balance between normal-sounding names and strange names until all the names are finalized.

I was a little worried the new mini overworld sprites would not live up to the OG sprites in my mind, but honestly I think they look great so far. I was able to obtain this one from the official site (after some trial and error) and wanted to share it since it's not really out there yet I don't think. It is a little crunchy since I had to convert it haha.

I really hope the Miles overworld sprite memes start back up again. this is my contribution lol.

Also Stray got a switch port and if you haven't played it yet, you should definitely give it a shot, esp if you love cats, it's a wonderful game! It does look a little muddier on Switch so far compared to other platforms, admittedly, but still. Glad to see more folks might get to experience that game.

okay. status update for unrestrained summer fun.

so i've been super busy! school just started back up, i adopted a cat, and i got a little overly focused on a certain other rain code project of mine. the rain coat discord server knows what i'm talkin about. wink.

however, for some really interesting Barb Lore, i grew up in a family full of parrotheads, i.e. jimmy buffett fans. it's actually what the b in "barbara b. d'wire" stands for (buffett). being a jimmy buffett fan is my one Boomercore Trait.

and, well, jimmy buffett passed away yesterday. so i figured i'd get back to work on usf. a lot of it was based on the idyllic beach bum lifestyle that was so commonplace in buffett's music, so getting back to work on it (especially since the upcoming chapter is literally just about chilling by the beach) felt right to me, y'know? so expect chapter 4 to release sooner rather than later!

now, for an update that's less mildly depressing! a little chart that was cooked up by desuhiko in-universe :3 he's kinda stupid about a Lot of things (mostly how being gay works) but that's ok.

Charlie gives me PinocchioP vibes, especially his older stuff ! More specifically, Fireworks

From what I know about Charlie, the tired, aimless, yet hopeful mood a lot of PinocchioP's songs have remind me of him. This one in particular seems to be about a person's summer vacation, maybe their last one before college, and their friend invites them to a fireworks show. They don't really want to go, but they go anyway and see that so many people have stopped to watch the fireworks, even though they're fleeting.

As for Seth ! Kuruouze by Yuu Miyashita (I finally get to talk about him thank GOODNESS)

Seth seems like he's sorta using his job to cope with his Issues, simply ignoring them and using his high position to feel better. This song is about using work and easy-to-get distractions to ignore your problems, but also how those things can add to your stress and unhappiness instead of making you feel better. Also, Yuu is one of the best singers I've ever heard, I recommend his Kilmer and Wozwald covers! Also, any song that has Panda doing the art is immediately good. So yeah 👍
