i want to spoil megatron ( imagine, megatron / reader, first contact au)
My head is about to split open after my exam, but I can't stop thinking about what it would be like to spoil Megatron. To shower him with affection, gift him with luxury, and drape him in all the finest silks — mulberry and tussar, hand-picked and crafted from mollusks living in the deepest trenches of the Earth and worms hiding in the highest corners of the conifer forests. A part of him would be against it.
It was wrong. He refused for fear that such amenities were born out of inequality. You tell him that while such disparity exists in your world and that everyone should campaign against it and give relief when they can, you were not a billionaire controlling the flow of commerce, the railways, or the traffic in the air. And so letting himself indulge in a part of your world will not poison the soil or kill the trees. It won't send anyone into the hospital if you were to commission a sixty-foot-tall ergonomic chair made purely out of titanium metal for him to relax on while he reads. It would probably give the architect a headache, but it wasn't like you weren't paying them handsomely. (And any engineer or scientist would be thrilled to experiment, take a look at Brainstorm.)
Such symbiosis is one example of how there is a way for the finer things in life not to come at the expense of someone's pain.
It could just be the little pleasures in life.
Such as soaking for hours on end inside your bathtub. The hot, rose-infused water engulfs your body as you embrace one another. The mist rising off the water flushed your cheeks and soaked his cables — laughter echoing down the marble tiles. You had fallen asleep against him twice, and he was happy to hold you against his lap with a servo cradled across your chin to keep your head afloat.
It could also be sinking against the king mattress; his weight supported by the metal inserted in between the frames. Megatron thought it was excessive. The cost of fusing a recharging slab with all the soft padding must be expensive, and yet you had waved him off, beckoning him to lay down — and never before did he feel like staying in one spot forever. And never again did you hear him complain, content in stretching his arm out in the morning to pull you close to him, secure and pressed against his chassis as the sheets pile around like clouds. He didn't know such softness existed, and you pampered him with more — bits and pieces of comfort he doesn't feel deserving of.
As if he had invaded your castle, Megatron felt like an outsider to a life of feathers and flowers.
And yet you insisted. Comfort, safety, stability — these must all be so foreign and new and strange to him. Eons of working in the mines, of conflict and war. If anything, you feel a little lacking in your generosity. You always want to give the best for him. And so you never refuse your lover, even when he sheepishly asks whether you could get him a few physical copies of his latest binge.
He woke up to construction workers greeting him cheerfully, installing shelves and chandeliers in the library you had bought overnight for him. Megatron could only gawk by the stairs, speechless as you walked back and forth to oversee the truckloads of books in the mansion's driveway. Is this what you wanted? You asked innocently. And the ex-warlord had to curl his servos to fight back the urge to pick you up and smother you. No, he'll find a way to thank you later.
For now, Megatron is overwhelmed with your love and how it flows endlessly, almost heady at how his wishes are only a snap of fingers away with you as his lover. Forever will the guilt linger and consume him, but the shine of your smile always seems to chase their shadows away — brilliant like the set of pearls hanging off your ears.
( basically, if megatron has a rich human s/o lol )

Hi! This is kind of random but I've been googling around and haven't been able to figure it out.... Do you know what level of education Ringo had? I know John had some college, and I *believe* George and Paul would have had something below or equal to a high school equivalency, but I can't find any solid info on Ringo. Thanks!
Hi anon!
So, I consulted my copy of Tune In for this and here's a basic rundown. For more details I'd recommend you check the book itself – it's very well indexed and there are epubs knocking about + a version on the archive.
Ringo was sick for more than an entire year around the age of 7-8 due to a terrible case of appendicitis, which resulted in life-threatening infections that put him into a coma for weeks and kept him bed-ridden for months. This meant he fell extremely behind in school, missing out on learning how to read and write. He ended up picking up those skills because a family friend helped tutor him but he couldn't fully catch up. He ended up in a secondary school class, which basically deemed him and his classmates hopeless for anything but manual labor and ended up quitting school at 15, the moment he was no longer required to. He'd also missed two years of school again due to tuberculosis.
After this, he began collecting unemployment benefits in between doing several smaller jobs like working on ships and in the railways, before beginning an apprenticeship at a factory to become an equipment manufacturer.
Also, I didn't recheck this, but IIRC George didn't directly have a high school equivalent* because I think he dropped out before finishing classes at the Institute (I actually can't recall if George sat his O-Levels, but I'm relatively confident he didn't do any A-Levels like Paul did. In any case I think he started doing an apprenticeship as an electrician when he was about 15.)
*Based on your wording I'm guessing you're American, but my understanding (and Brits with more knowledge than me are welcome to interject) is O-Levels/GCEs are akin to mandatory final exams for all British students, whereas A-Levels are the continued secondary education you do to get into universities. In general, I think the US public education system does not make the distinction between "finished mandatory school" and "university-eligible". Although, one might note that John did not in fact pass his O-Levels (or do A-Levels for that matter) but was recommended for the Liverpool College of Art, which I imagine had its own admission system, by his teachers who wanted to make sure he had prospects (off-topic always fascinated by how much faith in his person John seemed to command). I also think Paul did take university/college classes, but did not end up doing any of his first year exams.
EDIT: sorry I think I mixed stuff up. It seems like Paul would have gotten into teaching college but ended up going to Hamburg instead.

RRB JE Exam Preparation Step By Step Guide
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Junior Engineer (JE) Exam is a highly sought-after competitive exam in India, offering an excellent opportunity for candidates aiming for a stable and rewarding career in Indian Railways. With posts across various engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and IT, the RRB JE exam attracts a large number of aspirants every year. To crack the exam, it is essential to have a clear strategy and well-structured preparation plan.
Understanding the RRB JE Exam Pattern
Before diving into preparation, it is important to understand the RRB JE exam structure:
Stage 1 (CBT 1): This is a computer-based test designed to assess candidates' general intelligence, awareness, and reasoning ability. The exam is of 90 minutes and consists of 100 questions:
Mathematics: 30 Questions
General Intelligence and Reasoning: 25 Questions
General Awareness: 15 Questions
General Science: 30 Questions
Stage 2 (CBT 2): Candidates who clear Stage 1 are eligible for this stage. It tests the candidate's technical knowledge relevant to their discipline. The exam is also of 120 minutes and consists of 150 questions:
General Awareness: 15 Questions
Physics and Chemistry: 15 Questions
Basics of Computers and Applications: 10 Questions
Basics of Environment and Pollution Control: 10 Questions
Technical Abilities: 100 Questions
Document Verification and Medical Examination: Candidates who clear both CBT 1 and CBT 2 will proceed to the final stages.
Step-by-Step RRB JE Preparation Strategy
1. Understand the Syllabus Thoroughly
Familiarizing yourself with the RRB JE syllabus is the first step. Break down the syllabus of both CBT 1 and CBT 2 into smaller topics and create a schedule to cover them within your preparation timeline. Prioritize technical subjects relevant to your engineering stream for CBT 2.
2. Create a Study Plan
A well-organized study plan will help you maintain focus and cover all topics systematically. Divide your daily study hours into sections:
Morning Session: Focus on Mathematics and General Science (important for both CBT 1 and CBT 2).
Afternoon Session: Work on Reasoning and Technical Abilities.
Evening Session: Cover General Awareness and Basics of Computers and Applications.
Ensure you allocate specific days for revising previously studied topics.
3. Master General Awareness and Reasoning
General Awareness: Regularly read newspapers, magazines, and online portals to stay updated on current events. Prepare topics like Indian Polity, History, Geography, and Economy. Take notes for important events for quick revision.
Reasoning: Focus on solving puzzles, seating arrangements, and syllogisms to strengthen your reasoning skills. Practice previous years' papers to get a feel for the type of questions asked.
4. Focus on Technical Knowledge
For the CBT 2 exam, technical subjects play a crucial role. Depending on your engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.), brush up on the core concepts. Reference your graduation textbooks and other reliable sources for subjects like:
Mechanical Engineering: Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Materials.
Electrical Engineering: Circuit Theory, Power Systems, Electrical Machines.
Civil Engineering: Building Materials, Structural Analysis, Geotechnical Engineering.
5. General Science Preparation
Cover basic concepts of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from the high school level (10th standard). NCERT books are a good source for clearing foundational concepts in general science.
6. Time Management and Practice
Time management is crucial in the RRB JE exam due to its competitive nature. Practice solving mock tests and previous years' question papers under time constraints to enhance your speed and accuracy.
Use online test series for both CBT 1 and CBT 2.
Regular practice will help you become comfortable with the exam interface and give you insights into which sections need more focus.
7. Revision and Short Notes
Consistent revision is key to retaining what you've studied. Prepare short notes for each subject, summarizing important formulas, facts, and concepts. Review these notes regularly, especially during the final stages of RRB JE Exam Preparation.
Recommended Books for RRB JE Preparation
Here are some useful books to aid your preparation:
General Awareness: "Lucent's General Knowledge" by Dr. Binay Karna & Manwendra Mukul
Mathematics: "Quantitative Aptitude" by R.S. Aggarwal
Reasoning: "A Modern Approach to Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning" by R.S. Aggarwal
Technical Abilities (Civil): "Civil Engineering: Conventional and Objective Type" by R.S. Khurmi
Technical Abilities (Mechanical): "Mechanical Engineering for Competitions" by R.K. Jain
Technical Abilities (Electrical): "A Handbook on Electrical Engineering" by Made Easy Publications
Important Tips for RRB JE Exam Preparation
Stay Consistent: Regular study and revision are critical. Avoid last-minute cramming.
Stay Positive: A positive mindset and confidence will help you perform better on the exam day.
Stay Healthy: A healthy body and mind are essential for productive study sessions. Take breaks, exercise, and eat nutritious food.
Conclusion
Cracking the RRB JE exam requires discipline, dedication, and a well-structured study plan. Understand the exam pattern, focus on your technical and general knowledge, and practice consistently to improve your chances of success. With the right approach and resources, you can secure a coveted job as a Junior Engineer in the Indian Railways.
