Sigzai week day 3~

Gentle sun rays fall through the slightly opened curtains, drawing Sigma out of his peaceful slumber. The first thing he sees when he opens his eyes, his beloved husband, Dazai Osamu. Curled up in the bed together, shutting out the world as they hold each other tight, enjoying the peaceful quiet of the morning time. But like everything, this morning must come to an end, or more, a start. Sigma takes a peek through tired eyes at the clock, it’s 6:00 am, only an hour and thirty minutes until Dazai has to leave for work. He looks over to the sleeping man next to him, it’s going to be hard to get him up, like every morning. First the whining, then the flirting, then more whining, then reluctant waking up. And Sigma, in all honesty, wouldn’t have it any other way. 

He sits up and rubs his tired eyes, before getting out of bed and opening the curtains, which earns a half asleep grunt from Dazai. “Wake up honey, it’s time to get up.” Sigma says, moving his hair out of the way as he bends over and kisses Dazai's forehead, hoping to lead him into an easy morning. He grunts and rolls over, shielding his sleep covered face from the sunlight. “Five more minutes…” He grumbles, which causes Sigma to laugh. 

Every morning they play this game. “Come now Dazai, it’s time to get up.” he says, shaking the brunette slightly. “Mrmf” is the only response Sigma gets. He laughs and hugs Dazai, shaking him more. Which was a mistake on Sigma’s end, since this gave way for Dazai to grab Sigma and pull him back into bed with him. Dazai gave him a sleepy smile, nuzzling his face in Sigma’s neck. “Mine.” He mumbles, “stay with me Canddyyyyy.. I wanna cuddle..��. Sigma knew this was a ploy to be able to stay in bed longer, but he couldn’t help but melt at Dazai’s words. “It’s time to get up, my love. You’ll be late for work if you don’t get up.” Sigma says, wiggling free from Dazai’s grasp. He whines and buries his face in his pillow. Sigma sighs, still smiling, and decides to give Dazai some more whining time.

Instead, he heads to their daughter's room, Bernadette. She always tends to wake up and start her day much easier than her father, despite her being less than half his age. The little seven year old girl was curled up in her bed, her long black hair tangled and sprawled out around her and in her face since she insists on growing it out like her daddy’s. As much as it melted Sigma's heart to not only have a daughter to call his own, but also to be looked up to by her, it was also a pain having to take care of her long hair. Sure, Sigma had his own long hair he knew very well how to take care of, but it was completely different on a smaller person. Hair brushing, washing, and styling was like pulling teeth for the both of them. Sigma was always afraid he would hurt her while brushing her hair, and it didn’t help that she would cry and whimper at every knot he had to brush though. But nonetheless, he loved his daughter and wanted her to be happy with herself and her life. 

He shakes the little princess awake, smiling softly at his daughter. Though she may not be his biological daughter, he loved her since the day they first adopted her. “Good morning sweetie, it’s time to wake up.” He says, brushing the strands of hair out of her face. She rubs her eyes and looks up at Sigma, reaching out to be held by him. “Good morning mama..” She says with a sleepy yawn. She always called Sigma ‘mama’, to which he didn’t really mind, since he generally was more of a mother figure than a father figure to her. Sigma picks her up and holds her gently in his arms, giving her a soft kiss on her head. The way Bernadette held onto him with her little arms, like she was a little koala and he was her support, made him feel so loved and needed. If this was how he was meant to spend the rest of his life, it would be perfect. 

Going back to their bedroom with Bernadette in his arms, Sigma finds Dazai still fast asleep in bed. Time for plan B. “Wanna wake daddy up?” Sigma asks Bernadette, who nods excitedly, instantly waking up at the mention of waking up Dazai. Sigma smiles and sets her down on the bed. She crawls over to Dazai and jumps on his stomach, causing him to grunt as all the air is knocked out of him. “Wake up daddy! You have to go to work!” she cheers, hugging around his neck. Dazai’s eyes finally open all the way as he looks down at his little girl. “Good morning sunshine, how's my little gremlin?” He asks, lazily running his fingers through her hair. “I’m hungry.” She answers, messing with Dazai’s face. “Then let's go feed you, hm?” Dazai says, finally sitting up with a yawn. Sigma's heart almost bursts with joy as he looks at his little girl and his beloved talking, both with sleepy but happy faces.

Finally succeeding in waking everyone up, Sigma starts making breakfast. Dazai and Bernadette sit at the kitchen table, talking about random things while they wait on Sigma to finish breakfast. 

“What do you do at work?” Bernadette asks, kicking her feet in the chair. 

“I do detective work, busting bad guys and stuff.” He answers, absentmindedly adjusting the chess board he had in front of him.

“You catch bad guys! Like a superhero!?” She asks excitedly, sitting up in her chair. 

Dazai chuckles and shakes his head. “I guess, but I’m no superhero.” To anyone else, Dazai would have immediately taken that complement and run with it. But this was his daughter, he wanted to be honest with her, and protect her from disappointment. The truth is, Dazai never felt like a hero, he always felt like he was just atoning for his past sins. 

“Do you wear a cape?” She asks, her eyes lighting up. Sigma laughs and ruffles her hair. “Alright, that's enough questions, it's time to eat.” He says, placing three plates on the table for them to eat. “Thank you Candy.” Dazai says, immediately starting to eat his food. “Thank you mommy.” Bernadette says, copying Dazai.

The rest of the day went by in a flash, Sigma and Dazai dropped Bernadette off at school, Dazai headed off to work, and Sigma took care of things at the house. Sigma eventually went to pick up Bernadette, taking her home to help with homework, then play for a little while until Dazai got home. Once Dazai got home, Sigma started dinner while Dazai and Bernadette played. Then dinner, bath, and bedtime. Overall, the day was as wonderful as they usually were. Now Dazai and Sigma tuck their precious Daughter into bed after they read her a story. 

“Good night my little goblin.” Dazai says, kissing Bernadette's forehead. “Good night baby.” Sigma says next, kissing her forehead as well. “Good night mama, good night papa.” Bernadette says, yawning sleepily. Sigma and Dazai leave the room, closing the door quietly. 

When they get to their room, they lay down next to each other, cuddled up comfortably as usual. “Are you happy?” Dazai suddenly asks, running his fingers through Sigma’s hair. Sigma nods, “I am, are you?” 

“Yeah.” He responds, then goes silent for a moment. “Our life really is perfect, isn’t it?” 

Sigma smiles softly, thinking of his family. “Yeah, it really is.”

“I hope it never changes.” Dazai hums, pulling Sigma closer.

They slowly drift off into sleep together, thinking about their life. Their daughter, and each other. Their life is filled with so much love, joy, and peace, but it won't always be perfect. But they feel as if they can face anything life throws at them, as long as they’re together.

The Miraculous Medal

In November of 1830, Mary again appeared to St. Catherine at the Rue de Bac Chapel. This time, our Blessed Mother was standing on a globe, with dazzling rays of light streaming from her outstretched hands. Framing the apparition was an inscription: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” When Mary spoke to St. Catherine, she said “Have a medal struck upon this model. Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around the neck. Those who repeat this prayer with devotion will be, in a special manner, under the protection of the Mother of God. Graces will be abundantly bestowed upon those who have confidence.”

The Miraculous Medal was originally called the Medal of the Immaculate Conception, but, because of the numerous accounts of miracles by those who wore it, people began to call it the Miraculous Medal, and the name stuck. The Medal is a visual reminder of our salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Front Side

The front side of the Miraculous Medal depicts Mary Immaculate, her hands open, full of light. St. Catherine Labouré saw Our Lady appear like this and heard her say, “Have a medal made according to this model. Everyone who wears it around their neck will receive great graces.” Mary stands upon the globe as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Her feet crush the serpent to proclaim that Satan and all his followers are helpless before her (Gn. 3:15). The year 1830 on the Miraculous Medal is the year the Blessed Mother gave the design of the Miraculous Medal to St. Catherine. The reference to “Mary conceived without sin” supports the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Mary — referring to Mary being sinless, “full of grace,” and “blessed among women” (Lk. 1:28). The dogma of the Immaculate Conception was proclaimed 24 years later in 1854, and then confirmed when Mary appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes, France, in 1858.

• Mary stands on a globe, crushing a serpent beneath her feet. Describing the original vision, Catherine said the Blessed Mother appeared radiant as a sunrise, "in all her perfect beauty."

• Rays shoot out from Mary's hands, which she told Catherine, "... symbolize the graces I shed upon those who ask for them."

• Words from the vision form an oval frame around Mary: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."

Seen as a matrix, the elements of the front design encapsulate major Marian tenets:

Quality of Our Lady As Illustrated by the Medal

• Mother - Her open arms, the "recourse" we have in her.

• Immaculate - The words, "conceived without sin."

• Assumed into Heaven - She stands on the globe.

• Mediatrix - Rays from her hands symbolizing "graces."

• Our Protection - Crushes the serpent (Gn 3:15).

The Reverse Side

On the reverse side, the Cross and the letter M symbolize the close relationship of Mary to the suffering, passion, and death of her Son. The cross can symbolize Christ and our redemption, with the bar under the cross a sign of the earth and the Altar, for it is on the Altar at Mass that the Sacrifice of Calvary continues to be present in the world today. The M signifies “Mary” and “Mother.” The interweaving of Mary’s initial and the cross shows Mary’s close involvement with Jesus and our world. In this, we see Mary’s part in our salvation and her role as Mother of the Church.

Beneath the Cross, bar, and the M are two hearts side‐by‐side: the Sacred Heart of Jesus crowned with thorns and the Immaculate Heart of Mary pierced by a sword. The two hearts represent the love of Jesus and Mary for us.

The twelve stars signify the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve apostles, who represent the entire Church as it surrounds Mary. They also recall the vision of Saint John, writer of the Book of Revelation (12:1), in which “a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars.”

• A cross-and-bar surmounts a large, bold "M."

• 12 stars disperse around the perimeter.

• Two hearts are depicted underneath the "M," the left lapped with a crown of thorns, the right skewed by a sword. From each, a flame emanates from the top. Again, employing a grid analysis, we can see how the reverse-side design contains great symbolism reflecting major tenets of the Catholic faith.

Design Element and its Catholic Meaning

• The large letter "M" - Mary as Mother, Mediatrix.

• Cross and bar - Jesus' Cross of Redemption.

• 12 stars - 12 Apostles, who formed the first Church.

• Left Heart - The Sacred Heart, who died for our sins.

• Right Heart - The Immaculate Heart, who intercedes for us.

• Flames - The burning love Jesus and Mary have for us.

Frontier Psychiatrist - oh flashbacks to when I was a tiktok cosplayer, I haven’t heard this in YEARS and never in full!! Was not expecting it! V good background music for writing / drawing I feel!!

Balada de le trompeta - I have such a love of trumpets honestly, unfairly bullied instruments. Added to liked list!!!

Okay, so I kinda just want to talk about an au idea I've been tossing around a bit....

superhero teen drama at high school, but sonic

sometimes i hate how my brain sometimes says "oh that's cool, but what if it had anthropomorphic hedgehogs in it?"

So uh, here we go,

take a bunch of characters from the games, give them 'normal person names', and just stick em in high school is the basic premise, but I do have some roles already figured out for the most part. (below cut)

Nicholas Chaos "Sonic" - blue dude with tude. casual jock, troublemaker, and not that great of a student but still has a good group of friends. has enhanced speed (of course), either natural or gifted through a run-in with chaos energy

Sally Acorn "Tiara" - mysterious exchange student. backstory relating to how Robotnik managed to take over her home from the inside, and how she escaped. might be a princess? she calls together all the different gifted students together to form a team of superheroes. she's the tech wiz and behind the scenes guy.

N.I.C.O.L.E - the A.I. that helps Tiara run everything behind the scenes. she can manage communication, location data, and even activate their disguises. I was also thinking that every hero could have their own personal Nicole assistant, like Knuckles' would look like Chaos, Shadow's like Maria, etc. but idk.

Knuckles Equivalent who I haven't named yet - I'm think of making this a Sol Emerald Zone, meaning he would have Fire related abilities and would be of Infernus Tribe decent. He and Mighty are boyfriends.

Kit Prower "Kitsune" - tails but a girl and also evil. she would hide her tails and her true wild colors during school, out of fear of ridicule. emo schoolgirl bookworm vibes from her civilian form. she's very intelligent, as expected. I want her to team up with Robotnik at some point to create Shadow :]

Dr. Julian Robotnik - politcian/teacher/random guy? idk yet. he's smart and also is eggman. can't say much.

Android Shadow - the last Metal Sonic model, and most successful of them. A creative collaboration between Kitsune and Robotnik. He has the ability to disguise himself like a normal hedgehog. He joins the heroes as a spy for Robotnik before changing sides, in which Robotnik destroys him, breaking Kit's heart.

Mighty and Ray - they would be half brothers in this au, with Mighty being full armadillo, whilst Ray is half flying squirrel, half armadillo. they have a close bond. not sure if they would be connected to the heroes outside of Knux and Mighty's relationship.

Amy, Rouge, and Cream - these three would be a team. Amy has a crush on Sonic's superhero ego, but when she asks to join their team, he denies her with the excuse that she's too young. So she gathers her two closest friends and makes a new team. Amy's hero name would be Rosie the Rascal.

other people:

- Jules and Bernadette would be Sonic's parents here.

- Sally's dad. probably a mix of King Acorn and King Dodonpa

- various school teachers; Pickle, Big maybe?

And on an unrelated note, it's artstyle would likely be similar to the Vagabond Hedgehog AU by @tatck because I think it looks really cool and would fit well.

In honor of Pride Month, this is my 'grew up in the 90s' gay awakening post...

At the time, I wasn't sure why I loved Jasmine in this scene so much 🤷‍♀️😂

The scene in the department store with the whip and also at the end when she's completely lost her shit "four, five, still alive!" and her cowl is half ripped off and her hair is sticking out of it she still looks crazy hot.

Lady Marian. Love that first scene where she's in full armor with a big sword. Also the wedding scene at the end, with her hair and wreath and her smile with the leaves falling all around her... She was the most beautiful and romantic thing I had ever seen.

Everything about Kate Winslet in this movie was just exquisite. I remember being confused when people had pics of Leo on their lockers, but I absolutely had pics of Kate Winslet saved to my desktop! 😂

Everything about Bernadette Peter's is cute as a button. Her voice is so attractive, and shes just so damn pretty, small but feisty.

Uma Thurman is just such a unique beauty, something about her reminds me of sharp edges. And Kill Bill? Hello. Uma definitely looks like she could kill me, and I'd thank her.

I'm STLL obsessed with Jennifer Connelly. That's wifey. I even watched that boring new top gun movie just for her. She's still the most beautiful human.

Princess Aura: "Not the bore worms!!" What in the BDSM is happening here, you may ask. Everything about the Flash Gordon movie is so horny. Like, the weirdly sexy reactions to the "torture" beam ray gun thing... The part with Flash's gf and Princess Aura fighting/rolling around in the harem outfits. Even the part where Flash and that forest prince guy are sticking their arms in the tree thing with the scorpion. The eye contact and the tension is so sexual. 😳

I don't feel like I need to explain this one. But I will say, that I think being very attracted to Xena is what led to my affinty with the sword and sorcery/high fantasy genre in general. It's just a sexy genre.
