i found it

so if you’re unaware of what ‘it’ is, there’s a band, TV Girl (who are quite popular in the music-that-doesn’t-play-on-the-radio area). TV Girl has used VARIOUS samples from early to mid 1900s films/radio shows that i haven’t been able to trace to the original film/radio show. i’ve finally found the origin of MOST samples, the one i’m most proud of being the ones in Cigarettes Out the Window. so if anyone else was ever wondering, the link’s up there and here it is again !! this may have been common knowledge, but i hope i helped someone !!

@peterlorrefanpage I was going through my collection of Peter's radio shows and I found this episode of Nightmare that I never heard before. I didn't see it on your radio list either and I wondered if you knew about this! As with all of the Nightmare shows Peter doesn't act in the story but he does make for an excellent omniscient narrator, introducing the story and making little comments before and after the ad break.

It's a shame that the Nightmare episodes aren't the best audio quality, but apparently it's a wonder that any of them exist at all. There were 53 in total and only 7 episodes survive today. I was going to try to fix some of them if I could, as it sounds like they are playing at the wrong speed.

Halloween Day 21

One of my favorite things to do during Halloween season is listen to spooky old radio shows. Most of them are over the top and not very scary but a lot of fun. But every now and then I run across one that is truly bizarre and unsettling, and they are almost always from the Lights Out show.

It Happened doesn't exactly make sense all of the way through, but as with much horror the dream/nightmare logic carries real dread this story of a spoiled, tourist teenager, the sewers of Paris, and a man making jewelry. Since I first heard it last year I haven't really stopped thinking about it.
